Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Today I was on my feet all day being domestic - cooked and ironed. Retro, eh? Then I did some arm exercises for about 25 minutes; they were given to me by the lymphedema therapist. (Don't have lymphedema - just learning to protect myself.) These were slow stretching type things, similar to some simple yoga exercises.
You guys are my inspiration & I hope to become half as active as all of you.
Pickleball - never heard of this before. I also looked it up. Wow.

Someone at work today told me she flew Spirit and had a positive experience. The "agent" I booked the flight with said $35 for carry-on and $30 for checked bag....so I won't have a carry-on. But this co-worker said they considered her backpack a personal item. I'm mostly worried about my 1 hour layover in Toronto, but its a done deal.
Tomorrow we may break a record high in the mid 70's then Thursday and Friday in the 40"s.....a 30 degree drop....maybe rain or snow!!!
Off for my evening walk....
-
I flew from Philly to Minneapolis months on Spirit in August. I had a very early flight. It left right on time, got into Minneapolis 20 minutes ahead of schedule. I believe they claim to have the newest airplanes of any of the airlines as well. They didn't give out free drinks and peanuts or pretzels, but that was fine. I brought a backpack, and didn't pay for it. It seems like pretty much anything that you can fit under the seat is okay for that. Just the carry on wheel bags that you have to pay for. On the plus side, so few passengers had carryon bags because of the fees the overhead compartments were pretty much empty. So I put my backpack up there. I was concerned because of things I heard, but I had a great experience with Spirit. The price was too good not to take a chance on it.
Rode the stationary bike for 11 miles today. I agree Blinkie, I am inspired by the ladies here!

Great job to everyone, and fun to read about all the travel plans too.
Spent the day at school teaching and trying to figure things out (starting with cleaning off the desk.....men are kind of messy!!
). Luckily there are lots of nice teachers in that wing who will help me out as much as I need.....once figure out what questions to even ask!). I had already taken tomorrow off as I have an appointment in the afternoon......so I will walk with my ladies, do my appointment, and start my 'long term sub' duties on Thursday. I will teach the class until Christmas vacation & hopefully he will be back in action by the New Year.
Yoga tonight and now am thinking of going to bed!
-
Thanks Kay. I checked the Spirit website and the checked bag fee is $42. If I have a "carry-on" it will just be a large purse/tote bag. But I'm bringing stuff for my daughter so my suitcase will be lighter and I don't plan on buy much and nothing breakable that I couldn't check. Gorgeous evening walk tonight but couldn't believe how many neighbors don'e have any outside lights on....so dark!!
Ruth enjoy you girls walk tomorrow.
-
Ruth: Too funny about the messy desk! I know the teacher is grateful that you are available to take over his class and gives him peace of mind while he finishes his treatment.
Hi Everybody! Enjoyed reading all the posts. Tonight I presented the cookie training for all the Girl Scout troops in our Service Unit. It's unbelievable what all in involved in selling cookies! The manual is 24 pages of small font. Selling cookies as gotten complicated! I don't have a troop anymore so I don't have to actually sell them but I still volunteer in other areas of Girl Scouts.
I have been walking/running the last 3 days. The weather is awesome - so nice and cool!
-
Great link Ruth. Wonderland I can't believe the manual is so big, I just thought you knocked on neighbors door, begged at the office or stood outside grocery stores or the post office, bring on the Leminadas!!!
Tonight did Body Flow then a 30 minute RPM on demand. -
Going to work out tonight. Wanted to rake some of the leaves that have come down, but they are too wet due to the rain yesterday and overnigh
-
Here's the Walking Women. The large buffalo lurking in the background is part of a Frontier Village tourist stop. In the summer there is a buffalo herd that grazes in the valley below the village. In the winter, the statue is kind of lonely.
-
Run, Ruth, Run!
What a great day! Mowed for 2 hours. I mowed fast because I wanted to finish before it became too dark. It 's so much easier to mow in cooler weather. I was dusty and sweaty afterwards but it felt awesome!
-
Wonder, I was cookie mom for too many years!!! Both my girls were in girl scouts for 5 or 6 years....and my girls are 12 years apart, so there was no overlap!! I still have cookies left from last year. May bring them to my daughter when I visit her next month. I hardly have girls come to my house, so I have to buy at the booth sales at the grocery store. Last years we bought 12 boxes. we put them in the extra bedroom closet and them my daughter takes them when she wants....but since she's been gone, no one has opened any!
Record breaking 80 degrees in Denver today...highest temp for any day in November....and tomorrow the high is predicted to be 45!!! and maybe snow!! Not unusual to have a big change in Denver day to day!!!
-
Karen, you can keep the snow. We don't want it!
-
-
lol Love it Ruth!!!!!
-
Funny!
Walked/ran this afternoon - 72 degrees, clear sky. Nice.
-
WORKED all day (seriously; no lunch and I didn't even get my morning coffee drunk!), went to Dance Attack & have been doing homework since then.......I am remembering why I retired!
-
80 degrees yesterday and snow today...around dinner time it was a whopping 28 degrees!! It is going to start warming up again and by Sunday it will be 66. Next week, temperatures should be normal for this time of year 40's and 50's. Traffic was awful this afternoon. Took me 25 minutes to get to Mom's that normally takes 10!! Wore snow boots for our nightly walk, not that it is so much snow, but its wet and sloppy out!!
I'm officially on Thanksgiving break!!! We have all of next week off!! I am so happy to have extra time, or should I say time for me!!! I do have some appointments but still have lots of time...Maybe I can dust the house!!! Naw, probably not!! I hope to be able to see a couple girlfriends that I haven't seen in forever!!
-
Karen I guess winter had to finally come calling. Wish I was on break next week but as per usual a couple of clients with last minute gotta get done before the holidays mailings. Wonderland I have been doing a little gardening too but I'm doing it early in the morning just 15/20 minutes but I'm finding it's a nice way to start my morning.
Tuesday night went to Body Flow, then last night and tonight I have worked late so all classes are over by the time I finish so I just did Sh'bam on demand on my own - felt like my 12 year old self dancing alone in the garage. -
Ruth, love the pics, both the Walking Women and the sleeping one. So funny!
Did some arm exercises with free weights.
-
Busted out a 30 minute workout last night
-
Brrrr chilly here actually had to wear a jacket to the gym and use my seat heater this morning.
30 minutes on the bike in Sprint class. -
Morning everone. Work has been so busy it interferes with my exercise routine but at least I dont have much time to eat either. We had nice weather during the week so I got in a couple of walks this week after work.
Boy the weather has changed this morning, so here is where it will be harder to get motivated. I see our first sleet out on the deck.
-
45 minutes of toning last night, POUND this morning.
-
Actually was able to jog the 5k without stopping on the treadmill today! Hopefully now that I've done it once, I will be able to do it again. I have never worked so hard to be able to do something in my life. It is a great feeling of accomplishment! Will be joining a new gym that is opening in a couple of weeks. Hopefully will be able to try some of these things you guys are talking about. Sounds like a lot of fun.
-
Great job, Kay!
-
Way to go Kay!
I meet a good friend today at a NC State Park to do some hiking. Gorgeous day! Upper 60s, clear, breezy, so colorful with the leaves. The sun filtered down through the trees and the leaves danced and whirled down to the ground in the breeze. We hiked over 12 miles on trails rated moderate and strenuous. I smiled the entire time!
-
Just a quick pass-through to say HI to all. Been swimming, biking and pickleball everyday.
Tired so will wish you all a good night.
-
Congratulations Kay, great job. Wonderland sounds like you had a perfect day. TH winter weather can really get in the way of our workouts, I know some evenings I have to drag myself out once I'm in.
Yesterday went to a Les Mills Mini Q and did 3 classes - Body Combat, CX Works and Body Flow, LB 75 has jumping bear crawls to a bird pose, of course I just laughed and watched. Today my muscles are not sore but tired so I'm going to take a rest day. -
My exercise yesterday consisted of cleaning, cleaning cleaning, and then grocery shopping, in preparation for hosting Thanksgiving. It is raining today. Might go to the pool and swim, though there is more cleaning to do...

45 minutes of pilates, I need to do 30 minutes of some sort of cardio when I log off here. I have been studying the 'mystery of history' all afternoon & thinking about interesting ways to present & teach the subject matter......I have papers & notes all over the floor.........yikes!
