Let's Post our Daily Exercise

So far today excercise has been dishes, giving the cat and dog a bath. Going to do laundry and drag down the Christmas stuff in a bit
-
Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! It was nice having my daughter home from college and seeing the extended family, especially my 3 y.o. great niece, she is just so much fun to be around.
Was able to jog the 5k two more times without stopping and then yesterday, I couldn't do it. Had to take a break in the middle. Maybe overeating on Thursday was the difference? Not sure what I will do for exercise today, but am planning to get to Planet Fitness for 30 minutes or so. Having beautiful weather here as well. My older dog has bad hips though, so can't take him for too long of a walk. I mostly just walk around the yard with him.
-
hi all and welcome tessu & gmmiph. Glad everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Much to be thankful for.
Wonderland, LOL about cookie training and a 24-page manual. Who knew?
HeidiHill, great goal of 60 by 60. You can do it!
Been crazy busy at work wrapping up a bunch of projects by the end of the year. 7th inning stretch break group now up to four ladies so there's always someone to walk with to shake off the afternoon slump. This morning took a brief walk in brisk air. Leaves are off the trees and the annuals all frost-bitten but everyone's lawns are still green. Weird!
-
Yesterday I raked the rest of my leaves, 40 minutes, and walked the dog 15 minutes. Badger, I still have some flowers alive, not all, and the grass is still so green. Maybe we'll have a mild winter?
This morning I got up and went to the mall for some shopping for myself for 2.5 hours. I was looking at the sorry state of my closet so I thought it was a good time to get some bargains on work clothes. It wasn't crowded - perhaps because I went early, and I had a successful trip. That's a little exercise, but I do think I'll head out for another walk today since its milder today and pretty sunny.
Welcome, Newbies. Its always good to have added company!

Got the Christmas tree and the decorating junk down. Got a start on the decorating, will finish tomorrow
-
Back on the exercise wagon. Did 36 miles of cycling yesterday on a trail I don't do that often to get in miles and also have lunch at the Busted Bike Cafe.. Unfortunately, it was closed yesterday as was the shop. I still have that one on my bucket list (bike shop + coffee + plus eats + plus beer and wine). I ended up at a New Age Mexican coffee place.
Today's ride was a soggy 20 miles, but glorious and solitary as my favorite route along country roads and farm land. I love this time of year when the earth is sleeping with fresh snow on the mountains.
I feel exercised and my skin is glowing. Getting into the Christmas spirit, I got a "carry with you" bicycle pump as a Christmas gift for a cycling buddy (his is in sad shape). And then, I spent my Amazon Gift Card on new running shoes to replace my ones with holes.
Was really nice to come home to leftover parsnip soup and a hot bath. Life is good. - Claire
p.s. Still laughing at the chocolate shop I saw yesterday. It's located on the ground floor of a Women's Health Center (near the closed bike shop/cafe). Talk about location!!! Not to mention that Seattle has no shortage of good chocolates to choose from
-
three days of hosting family, extended family, kids and grandkids and doing a lot of cooking...the last group left about 4 pm today so hubby and I took a walk of about a mile, going to finish off the leftovers, go to bed early, and have a longer hike tomorrow!
xoxox to all

Hi ladies,
I have just started reading this thread and find it very interesting and has lots of exercise ideas. Thanks for this ladies.
We really need to exercise to remove the toxins in our body and to prevent body pains especially neuropathy and arthritis. I am gonna try to read thru all the posts here and hope I can find the exercises that suits my body and sched.
For now, i just like to share my most strenous but lovable exercise machine i have. My 4 year old son!
He is so full of energy and curiosity, running and going to the most unimaginable places in the house and elsewhere, completely oblivious of the dangers around him. I get tired trying to keep up with him. Can I swap him temporarily for a doll??? Lol. Kidding!
Thanks ladies, I hope i am welcome here.
Best wishes,
Gina

Happy belated Thanksgiving. . .we spent two days in the Swamp disconnecting (no Internet or cell access). We hiked, went on a sunrise boat trip so I could photograph birds yesterday and we slept alot. Today got lots of steps walking around our favorite amusement parks. Shopping tomorrow and then heading home on Monday. Lumbar epi won't happen until 12/22 so fighting the back pain till then. I did score a waterproof Fitbit yesterday so I'm ready to start swimming again.

Welcome, Gina! We love having new people join us. 4 year olds are definitely good exercise!
I went to POUND this morning, then shopped/shopped/shopped, took a little walk (it's still nice out), went to a basketball game, did some online shopping & rearranged furniture to put up the tree (on tomorrow's list). WHEW, I'm trying to squeeze in as much as possible while the weather holds!
-
Our gorgeous weather is coming to an end on Tuesday. Snow in the mountains (good) and maybe for Denver too. I really enjoyed the week off and walking in the morning when the sun is out. I could get used to retirement, but need the paycheck. Last year I went from 3 to 4 days/week and I can really feel the difference this year...4 days feels like full time!!! 5 more years!!!
Need to be real organized tomorrow. I have a wedding shower in the morning, grocery shopping in the afternoon and then figure out what I need to do to get ready for the work week...I didn't do any work this week except check emails!!! I know I should have done something and I'll pay for it!!! but oh well!! Only 3 1/2 weeks till winter break and I leave to go visit my daughter!!
Sweet dreams

Thanks ruthbru!

Spent a couple hours running errands to get things to bring to my DD next month...Costco and Target...I don't like crowds. Took so long cuz we kept sending pictures back and forth to be sure it was the right one. I think I have most everything on her list (tights, some toiletries etc), hope I can fit everything in my large duffle bag and have room for my clothes! Also ordered Mom a new vacuum to be delivered. The 15% off at Target was nice. The cashier said they are going to have a 30% day next month.
Back to work tomorrow. It will be a busy 3+ weeks. Lots to get done.
Weather has turned colder in the 40's...we've been spoiled.
-
An hour of toning, 45 minutes of indoor walking (an icy rain is coming down.....doesn't that sound exciting for morning driving? ).
-
DH and I did go for a walk yesterday around the lake, 38 minutes. Today I just did laundry and closet cleaning - lots of standing and stairs. Back to work tomorrow. Somehow four days off only seemed like two!
Karen I saw them wearing parkas at the Denver game tonight. The colder weather is what motivated me to shop for new clothes, and today, clean out the lightweight fall clothes and get the full-on sweaters moved in!
-
Body Pump this morning then like Karen went to Target, the 15% off was unexpected and a nice surprise. Got all the decorations out yesterday and started, moved all the junk from the living room to my bedroom so today had to clean that, the garage is a total mess as I started cleaning that as well and finally finished all the decorating today, even baked some cookies tonight, I need to go back to work as I'm exhausted. Ruth we probably sent you the weather, poured rain here yesterday and windy and showers today, also dug out some weeds from the garden as the soil was nice and soft.
-
Defrosted the freezer (lots of lifting, bending, etc. --- well, at least it's better than sitting around) ---and leaving for Pilates in an hour and a half.
-
Octogirl, hostess double gold star to you! HeidiHill, I bought a cheap frozen turkey and it ticked the box and not that bad - 60 - wow. Ruth, practicing T&A and finding my leg up and drumming off on my right side, so practice, practice, practice. Cheryl, two BB 75 quartiles, last Friday & Saturday and got a Black Friday half off on Aim 1 for December 10th. No reason not to go for it and you go girl! Gmmiph, welcome! Karen, count down to leaving, Scottie, good score on the fitbit, TW, can't bring myself to rake just yet, Claire, chocolate soap! Badger, super busy. Blinkie, where are you? Mommyof2, I need to get a start..
Off to vacuum up the never ending shedding border collie hair and then to BB in Folkestone.
-
Hi! Enjoyed catching up with all the posts. Sounds like everyone had a great holiday and some time off.
I raked leaves on Friday for 90 minutes (ds and dh helped). I raked again today for 1 hour and 45 minutes (dh helped for 30 minutes). Still not through. You should see the big pile of leaves we have in front of the house!
-
I had my annual physical today (which I 'passed'......whew & yea). Since I had an excuse to skip school; after my appointment, I ran around all over town again doing errands. I went to Dance Attack & Yoga tonight. I am worried about the cold rain that has been coming down all day will turn to ice overnight..
I will have to get up really early and creep down the back hills like the old lady school teacher that I am!
-
Careful, Ruth!
Wonderland, you must have a lot of trees!
I tried some unassisted pushups and got an immense headache. I may have to modify my goal to 60 assisted pushups...Yesterday, I had a water aerobics class at the spa then biked to DD's first piano concert and managed to catch Body Jam, after leaving the concert halfway through. I'll see if I can catch the GRIT class today, otherwise salsa will have to do.
-
Don't do anything that makes you feel rotten, Heidi. I was doing a plank challenge last year (increasing the time up to I can't remember what), and after awhile it was just too much for me.....so I quit the challenge (not the planks). At 60, we should be able to switch up our exercise goals if we want to do (that is my story and I'm sticking to it
)!
It stayed above freezing so the roads were just wet. Weird; 100 miles west of us, they had 2 feet of snow & the interstate was closed. Who know what tomorrow will bring? School, yoga, school work & I just did an online walk now.
-
Too tired and too wimpy to go for a walk tonight!! It has gotten cold and windy. It was freezing this morning at 6:30 when I walked. Also walked at lunch at it was still cold. I had class from 4 - 6 so it was a long day. Maybe I'll walk around the house a bit to get a few more steps in and top 14K. Need to clean up the dishes from dinner. It was just DS and me. We had home made chicken soup and noodles that I had in the frig for dinner. Think I'm going to get my jammies on, clean up the kitchen, make my lunch for tomorrow and get into bed as soon as the news is over at 10:30...that is 60 to 90 minutes earlier that usual.
DD "faced timed" me this afternoon. Only the second time I've done it and the first time was with her. She wants to run a marathon that has a 600+ fund raising obligation. If you don't raise the money you commit to donating. She is positive she can raise the money. Its a marathon, but you can do 5K, 10K, half or full marathon. She is going to do the 10K. I will donate, but she wants to do it bad enough that she is willing to contribute her own money is she does not make the fundraising goal. DD said she will email everyone she knows. I know she will raise some of the money but she is confident she can raise the total. She is going to email all her high school teachers. She is one strong determined young lady. She makes me so proud.
Tomorrow night, DD is going to a cousin daughter's wedding. Actually it is my mother's 1st cousin but she is my age...her daughter who is the same age as my son (27) is getting married tomorrow night. My daughter is in Jerusalem and the wedding is near Haifa. Someone is giving her a ride round trip. She is missing her evening classes but she wants to go. My cousin is nutty, but she really wanted my daughter to come as she wants family there. Her mother and my mother were friends. Her mother is actually my mother's aunt but they are the same age. She looks fantastic. Makes it so hard to see how much my mother is struggling.
A friend at work tonight, mentioned that her cancer was back. I didn't say anything as it didn't hit me till we left. She said if the cancer keeps spreading she won't make it to 70!! Its only been a couple years since her original diagnosis. I feel so bad, especially since I didn't say anything.
Well, I best get busy if I want to get to bed by 10:30...that is less than 2 hours from now!!
-
This evening I went to Pilates for back problems again --- 4th time --- and am actually starting to enjoy it
Twice a week exercise is much less than I used to do before bc, but much better than nothing (except dog walks every day, but I don't count those)
-
Going to workout tonight
-
Yeah for your physical Ruth. Karen so sorry to hear about your friend, glad you can stay in touch with your daughter. I got my new Fitbit flex 2 today so I can start swimming and water aerobics for the winter. I'm a Fitbit junkie. . .currently have three and they are all yelling at me. My back pain has gotten much worse and epidural is not til 12/22 so having to do what I can to stay active till then. Currently slow walking on the dreadmill. Uggh.

Busted out my usual 30 minute workout
-
Yesterday was nice and warm so I got in 40 minutes of walking. Back to chilly today and I just want to hibernate!
-
Well, I didn't get to bed early last night as planned....a gf called me and needed to talk around 9 last night and we talked over an hour...she is going through a divorce after close to 30 years marriage and is really struggling...she needed someone to listen and a shoulder to cry on.
DD signed up for the Jerusalem Marathon in March...its also a 10K and 1/2 marathon...she will do the 10K. There is a fundraising obligation of just over $600....she is positive she can raise the money. I told her that her dad and I would donate and she will donate...she knows if she doesn't raise the total amount, she is responsible....but she is positive she can raise the money. The group she is raising money for are children and adults with special needs. I commend her dedication...she did a 5K last week for this same organization. Tonight she went to my cousin's daughter's wedding...actually the mom is my mom's 1st cousin but she is my age. Her dad and my grandmother were brother and sister. I asked DD how the wedding was and she said "interesting" but fun and nice. My son and I both laughed at her choice of words, interesting, as that fits my cousin exactly!!!
Beginning to feel a bit stressed, well maybe a lot stressed about all I have to get done at work and home before I leave in 3 weeks...and to top it off, Mom may be moving apt. The new apt is much smaller but handicapped accessible...That means I have to take probably 75% of her clothing and some other things as well as her desk and a bit of other furniture. The closets are smaller, no linen closet and less kitchen cabinets. The living room is about 1/2 the size of her current apt. I am conflicted about what to do and Mom has put the ball in my court. I need to see if she qualifies and how much less the rent is....I won't move her unless its at least $200 less/month. The apt will pay for her move, but she has to pay to change cable and phone as well as what stuff DH and I have to bring to our house....Never a dull moment!!!
It was 18 degrees this morning at 6:30 when I walked before work....it was COLD!!!! By mid day it had warmed up to the 30's...ready to go for my night walk shortly and its not as cold...Hope tomorrow morning is warmer than this morning...A least during the day, when the sun is out, it feels warmer, the Colorado sun is so hot!!
Have a good night...sweet dreams!!

hi all and welcome KB870. I leave too early and get home too late to walk outdoors during the week but been getting in a 7th inning stretch break in the afternoon. Finally got our first snowfall, which made me happy except for driving home in it LOL. Met up with some friends for drinks & dinner tonight after work and stuck with coffee since my drive is so long. But had a nice plate of bluegill, wonderful conversation, and a hot chocolate with butterscotch schnapps for dessert.
