Went to a Zumba class this morning & am going to a restorative yoga class now before hunkering down to watch the election returns. Fingers crossed!
-
Walked/ran this afternoon. Getting ready for the election returns!
-
Yesterday I went for a 32 minute walk at lunch. I started having chills and fever today so might be limited exercise for a few days. Dragged myself to vote and lying on the sofa wrapped in my favorite blanket .
-
Long day today, but I managed 3 walks...one of the few days this school year that I got a walk in during the work day. Had a 7:30 team meeting then a staffing after school that went till 6pm. I left the house at 7 and got home at 6:30!!!
Tomorrow and Thursday I have an all day training...hoping the lunch break is long enough to get a walk in.
Not as wiped tonight by the time change as the past 2 nights... Weather is still in the 60's during the day but it cools off at night!!
-
TH couch and lots of fluids till you feel better. Karen that's a long day glad you were able to get those walks in.
Tonight did a Body Flow class, it was nice to do all that stretching as I tweaked my back yesterday. -
OMG..woke to a nightmare and the world weeps.
-
Exercise was pacing in front of the TV this morning watching CNN. Now I need some fresh air.
-
Definitely needing fresh air......
-
Glad so many of you voted and did not waste your voice. Can't pick myself off the couch this morn to go pickleball practice but will work off the angst when I play this afternoon.
hbcheryl, are classes included at 24 under Silver Sneakers? I finally signed up at Anytime yesterday but they don't really have any classes, I can just use their equipment. Maybe it's up to the individual franchise.
Later sculpted friends.
-
I am with you Patoo I am just going to stay in bed eat cookies and read only trashy magazines, that being said yes all classes are included in Silver Sneakers membership at 24, they do have special SS classes of course I've never been to one cause you know in my head I'm still 27 and 120lbs and I'm going to live in my fantasy world a little while longer!!!!
-
May I join you? I have been following you for a little while getting some inspiration from you. I have been working on the couch to 5k as a few other people have here. I am up to week 6. I am definitely having trouble getting going this morning. Terribly disappointed with America. Especially disappointed that my state, PA was really what tipped the scales. I don't work on Wednesdays, going to head to the gym. Maybe I can work off some of this angst.
-
Welcome, Kay!
Walked with my Wednesday ladies & now I am off to sub. I am too depressed to even post a picture..........
-
Good to have you with us Kay_G and week 6 on C5K is terrific! The healing power of endorphins is amazing, so let's keep at it sculpted sisters, regardless of how shitty it all feels and is.
Went to teach this morning and the instructor I was to cover showed up to teach! Could be awkward, clearly the facility made a mistake. I smiled and said, I cover instructors who need it, you obviously don't, it's your class, all is very cool and I'll scoot out. She asked if I'd like to stay and YES, I would like a yoga class, so an hour and half of hatha yoga with this brilliant instructor named Katy, help me greatly. Funny how we get what we need in the moment --when open to it. Off to teach BB tonight in Folkestone.
-
Was able to take out some frustration on poor little plastic pickleball this afternoon. I'm slowly coming out of the funk. We will get through this. I see a thread on BCo where several of our sisters (and I'm sure there are more not posting) are so afraid of losing their insurance coverage because they are under the ACA (Obamacare). It is a frightening place to be.

The weather has been so lovely here that I went for a therapeutic dog walk after work & then Zumba (I have never felt less like dancing in my life......just kept looking at the clock waiting for it to be over).
-
Hello gang - I was sick for a few days. & before that, busy. I got to go to a day of education for breast cancer patients. Learned about lymphadema (wrapped our hands with gauze tape, did yoga for lymphadema, etc) and also about vaginal health & menopause in relation to breast cancer. I saw some people I know and I got to laugh a lot.
I don't have lymphadema, but today I went to a therapist & got my arms measured for the record, then heard more about all the things I can do to protect myself. All this new information is more motivating for me than the idea that 'exercise is good for me.' Every time we use our joints we are helping our lymphatic system. Cool. Next week I have another appointment with the therapist where we go over some strength exercises.
Thanks to LilacBlue for wondering where I've been.
I'm not sure I'm going to be walking up to the road in the dark any more. Our trail camera, which is attached to a porch, got a photo of a bobcat just north of our house. Yikes!
Like others, I am not in the greatest frame of mind today. I know exercise will help my mood, but today we hunkered down in the basement and watched a crazy comedy show (Man Down.) Didn't want to think about reality.
I'm not back to a steady exercise habit, but my endurance has improved, so I'm going in the right direction.

Been so busy this week with things that I finally got around to my 30 minute workout last night. Had lost 10 pounds and I regained a few of them, but I have gotten back on the losing side again and I have lost the ones I gained back and a couple more. Think if I keep at it by Thanksgiving I might just lose a few more. Have a goal by Christmas to be another 10 pounds lighter!
Got a workout planned for tomorrow since hubby is taking it off because he is a veteran
-
Just a short 5.6 mile bike ride this morning to sign up for a pickleball practice session. Then Bible study and back home.
Happy Veterans day tomorrow to all our Vets.
Night sculpted friends.
-
Subbed all day & went to coffee with a friend. I am going to force myself to do a toning DVD tonight.
-
Kay: Welcome and good luck with your couch to 5k!
Blinkie: Watch out for that bobcat!
Walked/ran this afternoon. Finished 15 minutes before it turned dark.

The weather in Denver has been gorgeous...in the 60's and no change it sight for the next several days. Of course with the shorter days it cools off earlier. I was at an all day training yesterday and today. today we shortened lunch to 1/2 hour from 1 hour yesterday so we could be done by 4. So I chose to walk instead of lunch and ate when the seminar started back up. Just too nice to stay in doors all day. Went to Mom's on the way home. She asked what I was doing Thanksgiving and I told her we were staying home and Mom said I'll take a taxi over. The logistics are just too difficult and when I was doing her she couldn't use the scooter as we couldn't get in the house you could see how disappointed she was. So I decide we will take Thanksgiving to her. She has come the past few years since I moved my parents to Denver. I brought it up to her before I left and Mom dismissed the idea, but my DH and DS are in agreement so its a done deal!! Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks. Leaving to see my daughter in 6 weeks and still haven't bough my ticket. Fares keep going up and I keep hoping they will drop again. Going to go check the websites now.
Have a good night....

Hello
-
Welcome Kay. Glad you are on the mend Blinkie, I don't think I'd be out on the trail with a bobcat hanging out in the area, yikes!!! Karen I was doing something today and realized the Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away, I was supposed to be in Denver this weekend but I have a houseguest from Australia so I had to cancel. LB there is another program to go along with Vinyasa, Les Mills Barre Kylie Gates is up here doing the rounds training instructors, she was in San Diego today.
Did 30 minutes of Body Combat and a Body Pump class tonight. Last Sunday in Step I tweaked my back doing burpees, I have been babying it icing/heating/ibuprofen and felt better today but when we were laying on the bench in Pump it went again, I could barely get up then when it was time for triceps we had to transition from laying down to sitting on the bench doing overhead presses I managed to get up just as they were finishing, I need to book a massage!!! -
Suprised my hubby by raking the leaves into piles so he can bag them today
-
Think I'd rather rake than bend over and bag the leaves - living in Southern California I don't have to worry about having to do either and it's been 91/93 degrees these past 3 days ughhhh but they say next week it's going to cool down down.
Up early and did Sprint this morning, now off to get a haircut and do some chores. -
Blinkie, good to see and read ya and we have a program here called: https://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/information-support/support-you/local-support/moving-forward-after-breast-cancer-treatment it to is excellent. Cheryl, I met Kylie at ONELive Sweden last year, she is super! Don't think those extra classes are making it here just yet and love to teach LM vinyasa flow.
Off to cover a Blockfit class.
-
I must say I find you all quite inspiring. I'm not naturally motivated to exercise, so you are all helping me each time you post.
LilacBlue - Thanks for the link. Maybe that program is similar to the Livestrong program here? Livestrong was offered to me at my survivorship appointment; it takes place at the YMCA, so I assume it is an exercise program for our recovery. I didn't join because it takes me about 80 minutes - in good weather - to reach the Y. I mean 80 minutes in a car. haha. Not running or anything.
Here are pictures from the trail cam. It's not very clear, but we sent it to our friends and neighbors who are knowledgeable and they all say it's a bobcat.
-
Oh my goodness!
I did a pilates DVD at home & then went to Dance Attack; which is really fun. As we are going out to dinner in a few minutes, I will soon be undoing all my goodness
-
Well I did get a small workout in today. Helped hubby bag all the leaves I raked
-
Cheryl: Hope your back starts feeling better!
Blinkie: How cool! Really good picture.
Hello Everybody. My town always has a Veteran's Day Parade and it's very special to me to attend it. Luckily I was able to walk/run right after it before it got too dark.
