POUND this morning & am going to a football game this afternoon (which tells you how unseasonably warm it is as I don't go sit out in the cold now that I have no kids of my own, or kids of close friends, on the team).
Off topic, but be sure to check this out.....https://www.facebook.com/brightside/videos/366207440393806/

Went to the gym to do day 2 of week 7 of the c25k today. I could not do 25 minutes, had to break it up into 10, 10, and 5. How come I did it last week? So frustrating! And even when I do get to 30 minutes, I still won't be doing a 5k because I only go a little over 5 mph. I am determined to do it though.
-
hi all and welcome Kay! You DID do 25 minutes, you just did it in segments. :-)
It's dark now when I get home from work but getting in a 7th inning stretch each day. Friday I walked the last bag of Halloween candy around the office. Got in some non-desk team-building time offering chemically-induced happiness of the legal variety, chocolate.
Chilly morning but a gorgeous afternoon. Warm enough now to go for a stroll.
-
Kay, you went and you did. Even if it didn't feel stellar, that's a victory.
Finally feels like Fall here the last couple of days. Chilly but sunny. I mowed and raked leaves 42 minutes and walked around the lake 42 minutes. All my leaves are done so I'm hoping for some nice northeast winds to keep my neighbors leaves blowing in their yard, not mine.
-
Hi all, no scheduled exercise today as getting more involved in 'other' stuff. Will get back to it tomorrow with attending mysunshine's 5-mile walk Leslie Sansone class. May try get to pool in-between or maybe will go work at gym I just joined, just for kicks!
Night sculpted friends.

haven't done much since Monday but got in 2.5 hours leaf raking, leaf blowing, perennial cutting, outdoor furniture moving, and minor wood hauling today (DH cut a few limbs off a tree). The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here and is predicted to continue for several more days. it's been so warm that I discovered new growth on many of my perrenials when I went to cut them back for the winter.
Feeling pleasantly achy after a long hot bath with a good book. All in all a great day!

My exercise has been derailed for a couple of weeks. Crazy busy at work and L5/S1 back issue has worsened to the point where I'm in daily pain again. I see the ortho on 11/21 and plan to set first available appointment for nerve ablation around the joint. I'm hoping for a quick recovery so I can get back on the treadmill soon after and get into the pool.
On the brightside, 10 weeks of gluten-free anti-inflammatory diet has improved my nerve pain, LE and other symptoms from BC treatments. I guess the LE diet is here to stay.

Hi all, went to the gym before dinner last night and did Body Pump and today went to new gym that is opening in my area for Zumba - I probably won't join as no Silver Sneakers and it's quite expensive but it sure looks like it's going to be gorgeous when it's finished, until they open all classes are free in their enrollment center so I may just take advantage of that (Ruth they are going to have Pound).
-
FREE is good
-
Danced for an hour today - hurrah! I was tired beforehand, and afterward, but the music gave me energy.
-
45 minutes of toning & cleaning the house for me

Here is the view from my walk Friday....
-
Gorgeous weather in Denver....Going to be in the 70's the first part of the week...unbelievable for Denver this time of the year!! 4 walks today....Work will curtail my walks to 3 max!!! I love being outside this time of year.
-
Wonderland my back is slowly recovering. Dancing is the best Blinkie. Beautiful place for a walk Octogirl. Two nice things happened to me today, I was having lunch with friends and I was told my skin was lovely and later I was walking through Macy's and a woman stopped me and told me my hair was beautiful, I guess I was giving off a good aura today.
This morning did Body Pump and CX Works, then went to a filming late this afternoon for a friends Body Pump video my goodness by the time we got to the bicep track I thought my arms would fall off but I made it through and when I flex I have poppin' biceps
-
Cheryl, how do you heal your back with so much lifting ..not judging; sincerely curious. Blinkie, dancing is great, good for you! Octogirl, is that photo taken in Napa? Horrible weekend of nothing but election news on this side of the world - no escape. Spent my down day yesterday helping an older, dear friend who suffers from ataxia, and recovering from roto cuff surgery last week as a result of a fall, fracturing her shoulder. My long day today, so off I go to put together a lesson plan for Pink Ribbon Pilates.
-
5-miles with mysunshine yesterday. On way to pickleball with a friend today. Cloudy and cool (64 deg is cool for us) today but pickleball will work up a sweat.
Later sculpted friends.

Going to go workout in a few minutes. 30 minutes here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Was able to do the 25 minutes of jogging (I think the wogging term is probably more accurate). Feel really good about that. I wanted to stop at 10 minutes, then 15 minutes, but pushed through. I think it is actually more of a mental problem than physical. Anyone have any experience with it? Any tips?
Thanks for the welcome! Have a wonderful day everyone.
-
Patoo, it was warmer here in Denver. Its going to be in the high 70's tomorrow and Wednesday!!
-
I think that almost all exercise is more mental than physical. I have a notebook & chart my weekly exercise.....I am anal enough that I HAVE to meet my goals.
I think I mentioned that I have been subbing afternoons for a friend who is doing radiation. I had told him that if he felt tough at the end (mid-December) that I could take full days for him. Well, today I went in & he said that he was exhausted & he just couldn't teach anymore during this. I asked when he wanted me to take over, and he said TOMORROW. Yikes, I thought I would have a little more notice! So my head is spinning (I am not worried about the content but am worried about all the other 'stuff'....I will have to both ask for help and punt.
Zumba & yoga tonight. We have a snow storm in the forecast, so our nice fall will soon be a thing of the past!
-
Ruth, I remember when the radiation fatigue or should I say exhaustion hit!!! So nice that your friend has someone like you to help out!
Bought my ticket tonight to see my daughter next month
Worried about one of my layovers...just keeping my fingers crossed that there are no delays. I buy travel insurance so that is helpful. The last leg of the flight is Spirit Airlines which I'm not thrilled about, but the fare was too good to pass up. DH won't be thrilled to take me to the airport for a 6am flight then when I get back home its almost midnight. I am leaving the last day of work before winter break, so I will work the Friday before I leave. I asked by supervisor last week and she just said let her know what I'm doing!
Its late, I guess I should think about getting off the computer and going to bed!! Sweet dreams!
-
Patoo, looked up pickleball and watched it with history of how the game was invented on Youtube as I'd not heard of it - looks like great fun. Blinkie, good on the dancing. M0mmyof2, you are going for it! Kay, that is how I trained in running; it is a mental push to keep time = distance momentum. Ruth, so nice of you to step and I hope the treatment for your friend places him in NED. Yay Karen you bought the ticket and fingers crossed, all will go well.
Going to tai chi this morning.
-
Had to cut my workout short my left leg started cramping up for some reason. At least I got in 27 minutes of the 30 I had planned
-
I had to look up pickle ball also! Looks like fun but anything with a paddle is probably not my best game... :-(
the weather is staying nice for walking here in California. Perhaps a little too nice. Let's bring back the rain!

I have been reading everything, but mainly laying low as just so much going on otherwise with two day-long conferences in the past 3 weeks (on top of my regular work) and getting ready for the big conference in Phoenix. I leave tomorrow, and not even started packing.
Exercising has been challenging, but I am on track. I did downsize most of my rides to 5k runs, except for Sunday where I got in a wet ride. Hoping to get in some real exercise around Thanksgiving when I will have some time off.
Ruth....looks like you have your "social life" planned for the rest of the year! Good luck with it all.
I am looking forward to my few days post conference when I will visit Flagstaff and finally see the Grand Canyon. Can't believe it's in only a few days!
Now, if that bruise on my jaw from the dentist last week would only fade away..... - Claire
-
Octogirl, I'd send you our rain if I could, the one thing I have the most trouble with in living here is the rain. Ruth,I signed up for POUND instructor training this Sunday as it looks like so much fun - could not resist and will see what the future brings. Cheryl, called LM London yesterday asking about the LM vinyasa and not on the radar here yet could be in the future..so watching for developments this unfold. Claire, hope the bruise clears quick.
-
ruthbru, I agree, he is blessed to have a friend like you. You will do okay I know. karen1956, I was just looking at fares for a possible trip north in January (who flies north in January!!!!). Spirit also had a great fare but then I see they charge $45-$100 extra just for your carryon and $40-$125 for a checked bag. If I were to book them would have to fly in the nude (then they would pay me to put on clothes). I have also heard of an airline that has cheap fares but then charges you for a seat! LilacBlue, pickleball is actually addictive. For us seniors it's easier on the joints and heart than tennis. My sister enjoys tai chi but slow movements just don't work for me (hence pickleball, WATP, water volleyball, etc.). Claire, the Grand Canyon is beautiful. I've been twice in my life and would like to go again someday.
Off to line dancing in a few mins and then my 5-mils Walk Away the Pounds class this evening.
Later sculpted friends.

Took a quick walk to the pharmacy for Tylenol when I found out we were out this morning when I went to take some for a headache
-
Took a rest day yesterday and pushed a cart around Costco instead last night. My GP has upped my thyroid meds and when I went to pick them up last week he hadn't called in the script turns out he'd sent it to the wrong pharmacy hence I had to make a return trip and only spent $65 instead of the usual $100 plus
Ruth that drive plus the radiation has knocked the stuffing out of him, he is truly blessed with your friendship. Claire if you're in Flagstaff you should try to go to Sedona if you've never been, it's truly a magical place. Karen my goddaughter and her fiancé flew on Spirit - she said never again, delayed flight times and the joy of being towed off to the side as a full on brawl happened on their flight but I hope you get one of those boring "on time" flights with no hassles
LB my recipe for the back was lots of stretching (between every track in Pump) Voltaren - you can't buy it here but my friend from the UK brings it with him and leaves it for me and my trusty old foam roller, I would roll then take the roller and lay on it lengthways to stretch. I will be seeing one of the girls who took the training tomorrow so I'll find out what it's like but her photo on FB says it all, she and KG have their arms wrapped around each other so I think she really liked it.
-
I will read everyone's post and write more later; for now, check this out! https://www.facebook.com/bbcradionorfolk/videos/1201060306599020/
