Cathi, he is just a little cabbage patch kid, smile and all! How do you stand it? Does your DD realize the risk of leaving ovaries in, or is it just her way to have "control" over HER disease (understandable)? She is officiously in my prayers.
AE glad it's "just" an infection, sheesh, we are easier to make happy these days; glad it's only arthritis and not mets, glad it's an infection and not flu, etc.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tulips. NEVER thought of putting them in pots! What do you do after? The leaves need to suck up sunshine, so you can't take them out....
-
Prayers for Nancy and dad this AM. Brandt is absolutely the happiest baby I have ever seen in my life and not because he is my grandson - he truly is 99% of the time happy and has that big smiley face.
Barbe Jaclyn and I and the 2 DR's spoke at length about her BC risk and the ovaries removed etc, etc, but as of now it's not the way she wants to go, I can relate as I choose lumpectomy at the start of my journey, I can fault her, but I honestly wish she had choose diffrent, all I can do is be supportive and give my 2 cents when she wants it, I just hope they can get it all this time.
Thanks for all your thoughts. xoxoxoxoxoxo

Barbe, My sister's hubby has given her 'forced' tulips in pots (several years) for their anniversary the end of March and after they finish blooming and the leaves die back, she takes up the bulbs and plants them outside to come up the next year. She has quite a tulip garden in her yard. She said that when they need divided she will send some my way. (he works part time at the local grocery and when the plants are past the point of selling they ask Kenny if he wants them or throw them out, so he brings them home)
Cathi, your grandbaby is so cute! and so is the puppy. I think Barbe is right about why your daughter is doing what she is doing. my opinion is she wants to be in control or is either in denial about what her future could hold. but he age would be hard to lose the ovaries. You need to remember all the good things that your ovaries (estrogen) do for your body.
Today is going to be boring at work today. not many orders.
I go back to the therapist this afternoon to get this wrapping off and see if it did reduce the swelling.

Good morning ladies.
My turn to go dress shopping with dd, although I have to say we have such fun shopping! Will try to post picture when she finds the right one, this will be the last prom dress we will shop for. I suppose the next big dress shopping we'll do would be for wedding dress and I am not in any hurry to do that!
Hoping everyone is well today.
Nancy-thinking of you and your Dad.
Sheila- good luck with therapy appointment!
Barbe- always our cutie
Karen- tulips are beautiful!
Cathi- will keep your dd in my prayers, hope all goes well.
Ummmm can't remember what else was going on but will be thinking good thoughts for everyone

Hi everyone! It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Washington and I'm so glad it's Friday!
Barbe, I have some seed "balls" that I bought at the Seattle Flower and Garden Show that I want to plant in those pots for the summer. Once the flowers die, I'm going to transfer the tulip bulbs (soil and all) into my ugly winter storage pots. Once we're in the new house--which hopefully (knock on wood) will be in the fall, I will plant them in the ground there.
Cathi, that photo is just too cute! I totally respect Jaclyn's decision to keep her ovaries, but personally, I'd get rid of mine in a second if I thought my doc would agree to it. Of course, I'm not in my 20's either. I'm sure her age has a lot to do with her decision. Big hugs to you both!
Nancy, thinking of your family and dear dad. Please check in when you can.
AE, so sorry to hear about your infection. Glad it's not the swine flu! Hope you feel better soon!
Hi Jane, Sheila, Linda, and everyone else!
Hugs,
Karen

Oops! Forgot to tell you all that Portia had opening night of her school play last night. They're doing "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Portia has a bit role as a fairy. She looks so cute in her costume! My mom and I attended last night and it was GREAT!! She's done tons of plays, but this was by far the most enjoyable! They did it as a western (weird, I know, but very entertaining). There was this one kid who played his role as a Mexican cowboy. He was hysterical! I haven't laughed that hard in ages! It was great to see my mom laughing. She hunted him down after the play and told him how much she loved his performance. He was so sweet to her and gave us both hugs.
I'll bbl. Have a happy Friday!!
Hugs,
Karen

I love school productions. Both my kids were active in the drama club. It's something I will miss as I don't think either one is carrying on after high school.
Update on my father: he had the feeding tub inserted this morning and things went smoothly. He'll get some meds first later today, and then a bit of food tomorrow. The hope is with the meds to fight the infection and the food to build his strength, he will regain enough to walk again. This may take a few weeks. We're not expecting any sudden miracles. Hopefully, nothing else in his 90 year old body will give out in the meanwhile.
I had a heart stress test this morning as I have been having some shortness of breath and some tightness in my chest. Everything looks normal with my heart, so I expect my onc to say, "Well, maybe it's something else." and then we discuss what it could be. Number one suspect: Arimidex. I've heard that it can cause symptoms like that. But it could also be lung damage from the radiation...or the dreaded thought, mets. Now that the heart has been ruled out, we will start checking the other possibilities.
But this gave me a nice afternoon to be at home, rest up, and play on the computer. Wet and cool here, so I'm not getting any yard work done, but I may pop over to the nursery and pick up some plants to put in later this weekend. I need to get my herb garden in so I will have plenty of rosemary, basil, and parsley this summer. My mint and oregano come back by themselves every year, but the ones I use the most need new plantings (why is that?).
-
Cathi, I just wanted to say that Brandt looks so-o-o cute. I want a grandbaby just like that in a few years (no rush!). One that you just want to pick up and smother in kisses and play games with while they giggle. In other words, all the good fun stuff you remember doing with your own babies.

AT THE FIRST SIGN OF THE SWINE FLU - WE SHOULD ALL BE SURE AND CALL OUR DOCTORS. XOXOXOXO
-
Nancy - Grand babies are evn more fun, because when/if you get tired - you send them home (most of the time anyway). He is a great little guy. He actually lost 4 pounds last week he had rotavirus so bad, nothing stayed in at either end, but the little guy just lay in his crib or with Jaclyn, didn't even cry then.
-
Awww.....poor kid! Chase had it so bad when he was about 18 months old, we had to take him to Children's Hospital for IV hydration. Hope he's feeling better.
Nancy, I'm so glad your dad's feeding tube was inserted without incident. I'll pray that he doesn't have mets and that he recovers enough to walk again soon.
Hug,
Karen

Gosh what 2 Margarita's will do to a dog -LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Awwwwww.....she loves her momma!!! How cute!!!
-
I absolutely hate that picture the more I look at it, of coarse I am LOADED, my arms look like the Hulks - yuck. I need to do some exercise - after I have another Margarita that is -LOL.
I swear Ed is double shotting them tonight. It has been a long week. $h-T I am trying to edit my spelling and can't even do that - OMG I am wasted - TA-TA GIRLS
-
Oh Cathi! Silly girl, you look RIPPED! You simply must get the latest "Women Pumping Iron", you could be on the cover, it is the LOOK!!
Hi all my dear sisters.
Bill, I am so sorry this horrible dance still has you on the floor, time for a big break for you and Valerie.
This Swine Flu thing is looking sillier than the last one. More people have burst appendix' than get this thing. So silly. Scaring people half to death, and poor Mexico, first OUR drug habit almost ruins their country, then the flu, what next? The locusts?
Anyway, I love you all, Shirlann
-
Cathi - You look great! Stop being so had on yourself!! I've figured out why dumb ass made that rude comment to you, she's jealous! I hope Ed did double up on the shots. Have fun!!
-

Cathi!!! Hulk arms?? Are you kidding me? Even if you are shnockered (is that a word? LOL!!), there's no way any part of that body is in any way less than perfect!!!!! You are HOT!!!
Hi Shirlann!!!!! I miss you so much!!! I agree about this whole swine flu frenzy. It's crazy, isn't it?? Even my poor little Chase is freaked out because he hears all the hoopla on the news!
I miss Mel too!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Hmmm.....it's 10:49 here. I imagine everyone's asleep. Except Debbie, Judie, and possibly Shirlann. G'night all!!! Love you!
Karen
-
Cathi, you look wonderful! So healthy and tanned, with your jazzy hat and lap dance doggie.....looks like fun! I'm coming over!
-
Is it morning yet?
-
If you're having fun who cares? We spend waaayyy tooo much time and energy worrying about how we look to others, or compared to others...Cathi you look like your having fun and enjoying Ed and Margo (who is very cute in her dress by the way) and thats all it should be about. So there.
-
Hi girls!!
At work today..checking in to say hello. Cathi..can't see your pics here..but I am sure you look AWESOME!! I know how you feel about arms...I don't like mine at all. Mine used to be toned, when I lifted weights weekly....if I had the strength and determination, I would do it again.........maybe someday! I try and hide mine right now though.
Well...going out with Mike tonight, although, I have not heard from him, so not sure what time or where. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Off tomorrow..then back at it on Monday! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I may have to go to Matthew's Mother's Day program at his preschool on Friday. I am hoping that Alise can come home from college to go with him, instead of me. It would be nice for her. This way he is there with his birthmom, instead of Grandma.
Love to all of you...and have a great weekend!
xoxo
Lisa -
Lisa, have a great time tonight!!
