Nancy, I'm glad to hear your Dad's home. I can only imagine how much work it is for you. I'm sure the aids will help alot. Try and enjoy this time with your dad. Perhaps you should have some champaigne to celebrate Dads homecoming??
UB, AE loves you very much as you love her. Stay strong! You are very inspirational! I am on my 18th year of marriage and wouldn't trade it for the world. If you found the right person, everything else will fall into place!

Hi Ladies, Just catching up on all the happenings. Karen sorry about the DH. Just remember you are very beautiful loving and kind. You don't need him to tell you. I hope you are feeling better about that situation.
Ub it was great to hear from you and AE. My DH and I will be celebrating 25 years of marriage May 12. Why talk about feeling old. We have been together since I was 17 years old and we got married when I was 20. I can't believe all that we have been through. Even though he is insensitive at times I wouldn't give him up.
Mel you are so smart and your true feeling come out in your writings. You are a great friend. I wish you lived closer to here. (Texas).
I need a few prayers if any of you have any prayers left. I am starting my reconstruction over on May 21, my center will have a big accreditation survey between now and the time I have surgery. If we fail the accreditation, I may not have a job. please help me out here, I'm panicking. Also, I have been asked to be the second grade coordinator and a member of the Fall Festival for 2009/2010 year. I have never done this before so this is stressing me a little also. Oh by the way ladies I havemy wine at my side.
Oh an up-date on my right arm from just above the elbow doen to the middle of the forearm has been hurting so bad. I have been seeing a rhuematologist and yesterday he decided to put a steroid shot in my elbow. He used the sonogram machine to see where to stick the needle and he showed me my tendon and the whole area was solid red. I asked hime what that was and he said it was where the tendon was completely inflammed. I was so happy when he said that, that he was confused. I explained to him that I was glad it wasn't in my head and there was something really wrong. He just laughed. He gave me the shot and said if it wasn't any better he would put another shot in the elbow 5-19-09 and if that didn't stop the inflammation i would be referred to a surgeon and have surgery on the tendon. Sheesh, I''m tired of all this. Karen, did they discuss giving you an injection of steroid in your hip. If I remember your tendon was torn and I bet they have to do surgery to fix that. Well, I have babbled on - it's the wine. Grace many hugs and prayers out to you.
XOXOXOXOX

Hi Leesa! Thanks for the compliment. Its so good to hear from you. But I'm sorry life is so stressful for you right now. I never run out of prayers! Praying for your good health , hope they can take care of the elbow pain. Praying for your recon on May 21st. Praying for your work. I hope the accreditation comes through. And Leesa , I know you want to be an involved mom , but please know it is OK to say no when you have soooo much going on. If you spread yourself thin , it will all suffer.
Now , grab a bar stool , and get a BIG glass of wine!

Thanks lady for the hugs and prayers. AE what are you going to with that man of yours? LOL

Re: my dad...I'm thinking this may be harder than having bootface. Two days and I'm exhausted. granted we spent a lot of time today working on the house. I got out to the deck and swept it all off, then got all the furniture out and cleaned them and set them up.
I'm the chief cook, so after my father's second breakfast (we decided smaller more frequent meals would work best for him) I did the grocery shopping, then made his lunch.
We sat out on the deck for a few hours. Tried to cajole my father into eating some more snacks. When he went in for his afternoon nap we decided we had the muscle power to tackle the living room.
Now, back in January my brother decided to have a Super Bowl party and rearranged all the furniture for maximum TV viewing. The aesthetics were all wrong, though, with the two recliners situated so their backs were to the sofa, the sofa was moved and placed in an awkward spot...very off balanced...but you could see the TV. I called it the "Man Cave" since it suited the men in my family so much. I asked and asked that it be put back to the former arrangement but jerky brother insisted that our father liked it the way it was now because he could sit closer to the TV. It no longer was the lovely, balanced, conversation-friendly setting that my mother had created.
Even with my father coming home, I couldn't persuade them to move the chairs back. But one thing came up today that changed the whole balance of power.
My mother had a lovely Aubsson rug in the living room. It was oversized, 12 x 18, and I remember the day she went shopping for it (I was with her). It was beautiful, hand sculpted wool/silk. The colors were soft pastels. If we had kept our pets out of the living room, it would have lasted 50 years or more.
Unfortunately, having a dog who chased rabbits in his sleep and a cat who liked to piss on the artifical tree in the corner took it's toll on the poor rug. The dog's favorite sleeping places were owrn through to the backing. And there was one corner of the rug that could never be cleaned of the cat smell. In fact, as we carried the rug out this afternoon, I got a whiff of cat piss, and the cat's been gone nearly 20 years.
So the rug went, and that provided me with the opportunity to lobby for the rearrangement of the furniture. Jerky brother kept insisting the placement of the recliner would upset our father, but my sisters and I prevailed. The room is once again back to conversational mode. And our father didn't seem to care where his recliner ended up as long as he had it in the room. That seemed to take the wind out of jerky brother's sails.
Well, that vodka is kicking in!
-
Debbie , I'm praying for you too. That you will get that new and "improved" doctor!
