Judi - loved hearing about your reunion dinner. Wow - I was so impressed by your 20th one in Maui! Just shows how putting some money aside will mount up - but, as you say, it was during the boom time of the stock market. The Greek Isles....wouldn't that have been fabulous!
AE, praying extra hard that Wednesday will show that everything is clear for dear UB. NEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNEDNED to infinity!
Makraz - heartwarming to hear about your great marriage. I tend to think that young marriages don't have a high success rate but there are always exceptions and yours sounds like a wonderful exeption.
Karen - I love your family photos! You all look as though you are having a great time. Portia & Chase are gorgeous and you look really pretty. Is your aunt the one with the blonde hair? I had an aunt who looked just like that - it could be a photo of her! I hope all is well with your mom.
Nets - prayers & gentle hugs for your next FECing treatment. I sort of know what you mean about Scotland's weather. I did a quick trip up there in 1986 when we were in England. Scotland was my favourite UK country (I didn't get to Ireland, worse luck). We were there in September or October, just before the weather turned really cold and all the heather was out - so beautiful!
Sheila - I have missed you! The windfall gains from damaged goods sounds great! I like the way some jobs have bonuses like that! Sweet of you to donate them to charity - I'm sure the witchhazel will be much appreciated.
Cathi - I can't wait for you to pick up the sweet Margot! You must be getting excited. Loved the "man" talk - ha ha!
Shirlann - I'm so glad that Walt has recovered well from his stroke. My very best wishes for your scan (or whatever test you are having) on your hip.
Well, I must go and wield the paintbrush - painting one of the bedrooms today. We pulled up the carpet yesterday in the lounge & hallway. The quality of the boards is not good so we think we will plug the gaps, sand them back and paint them white. If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge of this it would be most appreciated.
I'm having my hair done this afternoon and then going home to the mountains. I still haven't found a new hairdresser up there - they are expensive and want to do outlandish things to my hair!
Love to you all,
Jane xxx
-
Karen - so happy to hear the news about your mother! You poor thing - you must have had such a fright when you heard her crying!
((((((((Cheryl))))))), my thoughts are with you.

Karen,
So happy to hear the good news. What a relief!
-
Hi Nettie here
Karen Karen Karen, I sitting here bubbling at your news. What a relief for you my dear! Your pics were so lovely and you all looked so close and so happy - and now you have reason to celebrate! I am so very, very happy for you all!
Cheryl, my hair (which is short) has started to fall out big time today - all of a sudden. With FEC, you are supposed to lose it within the first 2 weeks, so I stupidly!, thought i might escape it. Scalp is sore too - all of a sudden. Don't have wig organised yet either. The best stylist is in real demand and I have had to reschedule so many times because of my appointments being changed. I agree, you know it's going to happen, but somehow think it might not. I think everyone will mourn the loss of their hair (I will lose my brows and lashes too). It just another example of loss of control and identity. But we will get through it girl. Please keep your lovely chin up!
Jane - next time you are in Scotland, I will take you over to Ireland, where my family are from. You won't stop laughing. The Irish treat serious things as a joke and a joke as a serious thing (You might want to look up Dara O'Brien on UTube - my daddy was just like him) Did you really rescue a Joey?. When I ws a wee girl 9 or 10, 'big bad boys' were throwing stones at a hedgehog near our caravan on the East Coast, and I rescued it, took it home, on my knee, and we built it a home in our garden shed. He was called Spike (original eh) and he was part of the family for many years. Didn't know they hedgehogs wee flea ridden at the time tho ...
Night chaps, and hugs to all.
Again Karen .... such good news ....
xxxx Nettie xxxx

I am asleep whilst climbing the stairs Jane lol xxx

((((( Nettie)))))
I am thinking of you and your posts are so lively and lovely to read xxx
-
Nettie, my eyebrows are shedding as well. I'm told the entire body hair will soon be done with for a while.
My ancestry is Irish, English and Scottish.
-
Jane, my mom is the blonde sitting next to me. Does she really look like your aunt?
Oh, Cheryl and Nettie. It seems like just yesterday when I was in your shoes. It was so strange when my hair started to fall out. No, I wasn't truly prepared for it, though I knew it would happen. However, my wig fitting/head shaving party was SO much fun. I can't remember when I laughed so hard. It was my SIL, niece, daughter, and myself. It was a great day. Honestly, the loss of my eyebrows and lashes was worse than losing the hair on my head. I felt like I had no facial expressions. I hated it! Hang in there, my dears! Look at those photos of me. I have tons of hair again!! It may not be the same as before, but it's HAIR!!!
Thanks to everyone for your nice words about my mom. We are all so relieved that she's fine! Seeing her going through bootface would be SO much worse than having gone through it myself!
Hugs,
Karen

Oh girls I am so freaking out right now my daugher called just awhile ago (the one here in Fl) she had her annual PAP test 2wks ago (she is the one scheduled to have her first mammo on the 20th), the nurse from her GYN office called and said they had the PAP results in and they are "VERY" abnormal, and she needs to come in ASAP to see the DR and discuss "treatments".
Well ASAP means next Wednesday, and Jaclyn asked more questions but the nurse said they could not discuss the findings over the phone, she even went as far as to ask "do I have an STD" and the nurse did say No nothing like that.
5 years agao after Alexcis was born she had an abnormal PAP and they also did a biopsy on her ovary for a lump it was B9 then, she is doing better than me -I am a basket case.
-
Cathi, I know you worry about your dd. I have had some abnormal paps in the past and it was just a yeast infection. I am praying that it is just a minor infection for her. Just take a deep breath and be glad that her pcp is checking her out closely.
My mil is possibly going to be released from the rehab/nursing home tomorrow and she has asked my hubby and I (pretty please) help her Saturday to clean her refrigerator and flip her mattress. Donald just flipped her mattress in January and I know the condition of her refrigerator, full of out of date food and junk. Before she had this problem, she called me on Saturday (don wasn't home yet) to help her find a prescript bottle she couldn't find. I went through her medicine cupboard (over the built in oven) only to find so much out of date medicine it was ridicules. she had several duplicate medicines that were all outdated. I pulled them out and said that they needed to go in the trash. she set them on the kitchen table and said she would have her daughters go through it again. Like she didn't trust me to read the out of date labels correctly! Sorry for my rant.
Sheila
-
Thanks Shelia, I wish I could believe that, for her of coarse I AM BEING VERY "POSITIVE", but from the way she described what/how the nurse was speaking to her, it is more than a simple infection. And I have to think if it were a yeast infection they would at least call in a script before her appointment on Wednesday.
As far as your MIL -rant all you want, I don't want to speak poorly of the dead but my EX-MIL was not a nice lady at all, sounds like yours a bit.
-
hi sisters!! Sorry..have been MIA, myself. Between work, traveling to Atlanta for work..and checking out new guys on the website...I have not been able to log on.
I read thru all the 48 posts quickly...so I know I missed allot! Sorry.
Karen...great news on your mom!!! So happy!!
UB...B9B9B9.....until the results come in..and they will be B9!!!!!!!!!!! Praying for our UB!!
Cathi..omg...i bet you are freaking!! I would be too..., but..now think positive sweetie!! your daughter is going to be fine...ok...we are here for you Cathi! Glad Ed and you have had some good quality time together...hey...Cath...can you find me an "Ed"??? I am ready to give up on men! My daughter could not believe that guy didn't bother to call. Be an adult..if you found someone..or just don't want to go out..have the decency to call me..she said..."mom..he is a duschebag!"" lol
Sue...5 miles!!! you rock!!! I love your "trainer" go...SUE!!!!
Cheryl and Nettie...I agree with Karen...losing the hair wasn't as bad as I expected..but the eyebrows and lashes was harder. That came later for me. The perk was...no shaving of underarms or legs!!! Made getting ready with no hair anywhere...fast and easy!
Jane...what wild and crazy things to they want to do to your hair?? How's the painting going?
Judie...sounds like you had a great lunch!! You are so amazing to me!!
Well..my Danni will be 25 this month on the 23rd. I can't believe she is that old already!!! She is dating a nice guy..who is treating her like a queen..and she just is not used to that. I said..sit back and enjoy it sweetheart...you deserve it!!!
ok...ready to leave work..then to the dreaded grocery store. If I am ever rich (haha) I would hire someone to do my food shopping for me. I just don't like doing it!!
Love to all my sisters here!!
xoxo

Lisa, my son promised me he would have supper ready when I got home at 5:00 pm. He is going to our favorite chinese/japanese restraunt and getting me an order of spicy honey chicken. I have been fighting my sinuses all week (last week started out with 20 degree temps and snow ended the week with 80 degree temp with sun and tomorrow morning back in the 40's with rain). I took donald to the doctor on Saturday with a sinus infection. She gave him a refill on his Z-pack just in case he needed it, I may fill it for me and not go see her.
Sue, I forgot to mention about your trainer and 5 miles. It is all I can do to get my son to go walk a mile with me. Of course he is still having problems with his knee.
I need to go, supper is waiting.
Sheila
-
Wow, everyone is so busy!
Cathi, think postive. I'm praying that's it's nothing too bad. If it were would they make her wait almost a week? Keep your fingers crossed!
Sue - I do 3 miles a day and it kills me, you are now my motivation to up the mileage! Good for you!!
Sheila, you are going straight to heaven, I hope you MIL is doing better!
Lisa, I hope you and Dani do something nice for her bday! 25 WOW!!!
Take care everyone!
-
Lisa your daughter is quite right about the "douchebag" Isn't it amazing we have children so grown, my youngest (IN NY) will be 27 on the 28th of this month, where the hell did all that time go????
I am thinking as positive as I can for her Makrz, its hard though, if I had not been through all the "waiting" with all this BC crap I would have thought a week was a long time to, but now that seems like ASAP in "DR TIME"
-
Cathi, the link I posted the other day was about "Cancer Time". It's a whole 'nuther dimension! My heart and thoughts are with your daugther but especially with her mother. It takes one to know one!!
Sheila, you are a saint...even saints get to vent once in a while, though. I cant' imagine your experiences with that woman.
Hey Lisa! Maybe it's time to take a break from men and enjoy the spring...flowers, fresh air, renewal. Just don't give up forever, okay?
Makraz, 3 miles...wow. Sue's 5 is over the top just like Sue. But 3 on a regular basis...you are now my motivation. Is it okay to start at 1/2?
I am pacing the floor over UB.
It's crisp and sunny in Seattle today! Love it.
-
Hi Ladies,
Thanks so much for the chants, we really appreciate it!!! I'm here - not happy, but here.
We went and saw our onky yesterday about UB's scan. It seems bootface never really disappeared from the last treatment, in fact it got a tiny bit bigger plus it showed some other spots near his lungs as well. Now keep in mind lymphoma is different from other bootfaces. The onky told us UB will never be "cured". He will be in remission for lengths of time but it probably will always come back. They treat it like a chronic disease, like diabetes (can you believe it)! Anyway, UB told him he has had a dull ache near his kidney and has had shortness of breath (I didn't know this), SO the bottom line is the onky wants to wait 3 weeks and if Bill still doesn't feel good they will start chemo - again. With lymphoma there is always the possibility of bootface shrinking so thats why he wants to wait.
So that's about it from here - MORE WAITING!!!
Love you all - Karen - I'm thrilled about your Mom. Cathi - looks like we'll wait together.
AE
-
Dear AE &UB,
Just don't know what to say except that I'll be saying a prayer everyday for you and cursing bootface long and hard for all of us. Yes waiting it sucks. I thought waiting for me was hard - waiting to hear something about your child double stinks.
SUE we need one of your BOOTFACE RANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
-
((((((((((Cathi))))))))))
(((((((((((AE)))))))))))
What else can I say? GO TO HELL, DAMN, DIRTY STINKING, ROTTEN, BOOTFACE!!!!!!!!! GOD! I hate it more and more every day!! When are they going to come up with the cure?????
Love and hugs,
Karen
