It's snowing again! Will someone please inform the weather gods that this is !!@#$%&* Seattle!!!?
Karen, your news perked me right up! I knew it would be ok, but was holding my breath right along with you. Enjoy the Bailey's!
Cathi, how much longer until Margo comes home? Oh, how I would love a puppy...or even a grown dog. Nothing takes the place of one. My daughter has a Chihuaha/MinPin cross that she rescued and is nutty over her. My very first love at age 15 was a boy who was an only child and had a Chihuaha. That was one vicious bit of protoplasm! No one could touch his "boy" in his presence.
Shirl, that turducken sounds like such fun! You are clearly a mom to come home to!
Nets, go for it girl! I'm glad you are finally getting a few things sorted out.\
Hey, Sue, whatcha' reading? Wish I had a brew here. Sounds good. I'm reading Angela's Ashes.
Hi Jule!
Gosh...I had lots more to say but I'm fading. Not a wink of sleep last night. Luckily that isn't happening very often any more, but it does sap one's energy. My love to each of you. You are always in my heart.
-
Oh Judie - Snow yuck, it was about 76 here, I did all the bed lines and hung them out - call me old fashioned, I love that smell on sheets.
Margo will come home sometime in March, she will be five weeks tomorrow, Chi's sometimes need to be 10wks before leaving mom, amazingly mom had 5 puppies which is a rather larger liter, but all are doing great, now starting to run around and play. I can't wait, I have always been the "lap dog" type of person. She will be good for me, I have been loosing motivation lately -getting out and walking and such, we have a great fenced yard, but will enjoy takning her up to our "Doggie Park" .
Well stay warm , XOXOXOXOXOXO -Cathi

OH CATHI!!!
They are GORGEOUS!!!
I want one!!! WAAAAAHHHHH
I am getting too old for another dog, Dusty is probably the last one for us, we will stick with cats, so much easier. Cleo still sleeps above my head on 3 pillows, so she can see TV. She still tries to open my eyes if I have them closed in the morning, so sweet, her soft, gentle little paw. Ahhhhhh
Cathi, what kind of dogs are these adorable tiny ones?
Hugs, Shirlann
-
Oh Cathi! I want one so badly! They are sooooooo cute! I love their markings! Too bad puppies grow up. Rusty is still a puppy (technically), but he's huge! A big ol' moose!
Sue, come on over!!!!!!!! There's enough Bailey's for both of us!!! One day........................
Hugs,
Karen
-
They are Chihuahua's, this is a pic of Margo with mom and her sister, dad is fawn colored. We have a cat also (Roxie) she is a big cuddly baby too, but I know she will enjoy the company, I have not had a dog in almost 7 years.
Karen I am having a strawberry Margurita for you this evening -
-
Cathi, my daughter saw the pictures and is now BEGGING me for a chihuahua! DH doesn't like small dogs, so that won't be happening (awwwww). They are the cutest!!!!
I'm having my 2nd Bailey's! Feeling pretty happy and relaxed. It's a GOOD day!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Karen,
I just wanted to post and say WOO HOO. Glad to hear the wonderful results.
Jane - you are in my thought with the fires going on. I hope they are no where near you.
Sending you all happy thoughts and hope to see many of you when Sue comes for a visit.

So thrilled at your great news Karen! Bailey's -yum! Have one for me!
Nets - I love your spirit - your posts are defiant and strong. I know there is still fear though and that is perfectly understandable. You are already a survivor and we will all be there beside you (in the parallel universe of cyberspace!).
Cathi - those are the cutest pups! I have always had a preference for black and white animals (even though I have owned all different colours & my current cat is grey/multicoloured). I wonder if Blossom would cope with a chihuahua? She thinks she's a dog anyway and loathes other cats. When I dropped her off at the cattery the other day, I was just about to leave when I heard this glutteral roar - it was Bloss growling at another cat! She normally has a very high-pitched, feminine voice but this was like a werewolf! Scary...
Shirlann, the turducken sounds amazing. I laughed out loud when I read Walt's comment about the ant - he is so funny!
I found my son's old laptop he left here so I am connected! Hate being without the net.
Cheryl, Debbie, Sue, Leesa, Sheila, Jule, Lisa, UB & AE, Suebee, MDMouse, and everyone else, love to you all.

Off the wall...
Anyone old enough to appreciate this? Know what it is?

Is this what you would call psychadelic art Judie? This poster is great the way it uses text as part of the design. You don't see it clearly at first, but then you see more and more words.
I used to like drawing peace signs and hearts with 'love' written in them on my pencil case when I was young and loved drawing 'groovy' people with long, flowing hair, beards, lovebeads, patched flared jeans etc. Ahhh... the 70s! I was a bit young for the 60s so I tried to have my 60s in the 70s!
Thanks for sharing this.
-
My art teacher in high school could fined something wrong with this art, Thats what this reminds me of is art class. I love it!
-
Jeez, Judie - I should know that.
a Dead poster????
Baileys & margurita's - sounds like my kinda night - sorry I missed it.
-
Judie, I have seen that before, but could not tell you from when/where at this time, brings back some teen memories though.
Yes Karen men and little dogs (why must they always think Bigger is Better - LOL), when I firsted started talking about one a few years back Ed was not to reseptive to the idea, a dog yes - but a bigger one, I guess I won -HA-HA (i LOVE THAT MAN), working from home it is the perfect time now, while house breaking is not always a piece of cake I am here all the time so it will be much easier.
-
Whew, Karen! Congratulations and bottoms up! B9 results are what we want to hear.
Ladies, I've been having a few days of canceritis...every twinge and cramp was a "recurrence " or "met" (nevermind that there were no pains or other such symptoms before). I guess it's because my cancerversary is coming up soon, and I have an onc appt next week. Anyway, I was feeling dark especially after losing three bc sisters in the last few weeks.
But I'm happy to say I woke up yesterday feeling so much better, mentally, and the worries are gone. And I didn't take any meds. The weather in NY has temporarily changed for the better, so I'm attributing it to that.

Hi sisters!!!
I skimmed the posts...I am finally going to my spare bedroom to get started on Olivia's photobooks!!! I have a great idea for the first page...."A star is Born" Olivia Grace Kormushoff..date, weight, ht, ect. She has a plaque on her wall that she was given at birth that says that...I think it's really appropriate, esp. for what she would "like' to do in her life.
Anyhow...A BIG CONGRATS TO KAREN...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! SEE G/F....WE BOTH ARE DOING GREAT...ON THE UPSWING OF THIS FREAKEN DISEASE!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU HONEY!!!
I logged on to check on Karen mostly...I was hoping to see that she got her results!! so happy!
I have not called Dennis...he knows that I would have had my results by now..and he didn't call. That say's allot to me. Also, I noticed that he has his profile showing on Match.com. I put mine back up the other day..and the next day he had his there! Well...for someone who "didn't have time for me"...why would you be looking? I think he has commitment issues...57 and single...for over 25 years?? Anyhow...right now..I am not going to concentrate on it. I am busy with a senior in HS, work, my Oliver..and my home. I need to concentrate on that and LISA!!! Forget men for now! I may feel differently next week...haha...but for now..that's where I stand.
Judie..have been thinking of you. I hope you are doing better. I bet it was difficult going through your sons belongings...I just can't even begin to imagine how you felt....I love you Judie..and I think of you often!
Mel...Big hugs to you...you are one of a kind..your words are always so calming!! Love you girl. We are getting a ton of rain right now...supposed to turn windy...cold..and then the dreaded SNOW AGAIN!! UGG
Nettie...and Nana...I am so glad you two joined our group. We have been where you are..and are here to offer you support..and ear..and absolutely anything you may need!! HUGS AND LOVE to you both.AE, UB, Jane, Sue, Cathi, Sheila, Ulla (sorry to see you are not coming back..but totally understand), Shirlann, Wren, Md_Mouse, and anyone else I may have missed....you know how I feel about this fantastic group of women...and you are always in my heart!
Off to scrapbook!!! Good day to do it...heavy rain...gloomy...
btw..Oliver is on a heavy antibiotic, they gave him a shot of cortisone..and have him on prednisone. They think it could be a inner, inner ear infection..hard to see way down in..because his little ear cannal is so small. But the doc is pretty certain, it is a balance issue. Pray that these pills work..otherwise he may need a neurologist!! I can't afford that. sighhhhhhhhhhh
xoxo

Judie, I know ! I know!
Rock concert poster.
A friend of my ex used to do those.
-
Nancy...so sorry..I forgot your name!! You know I love you girl. You are always so positive..sorry that you were feeling dark...but I know how you feel. The weather does make a difference...but I hate to say, what we have now will be coming your way. It's hard not to think about cancer and all when it gets close to our anniversary..only normal.
love ya hun!
Lisa

Cathi - puppies get you every time! They are so cute! Kittens are so cute too - that's how I ended up with 8 at one time. I am down to one (the others died of old age).
Shirlann - my remaining cat looks just like yours. What's his name. My furry baby's name is Mister Oliver.
-
Karen--deep sigh of relief! Enjoy the calm; think I'll have a manhattan in your honor tonight
Nettie-- what is a jellytot? Also totally agree with the need for others to have compassion etc! Maybe this is every day, business as usual for THEM but this is not for us! This is a scary, frightening world we walked into, there is enough to deal with without adding all this stuff. Sending kickass prayers your way that it all gets settled, quickly and easily!!!
kmc- I hear you on the cute kitties- we had 7 plus a dog. The house is now empty and I am thinking of one cat/kitten....may wait until the fall when dd goes off to college (she is highly allegric to cats).
Hope all are having a good day, prayers to all in need!

"Judie, I know ! I know!
Rock concert poster."
You win the prize, Nancy!
It's one of a collection of postcards we found in my son's stuff. He collected anything to do with the 60s or music. The postcards were printed by Family Dog in Haight Ashbury. This one is from 1967. I'd forgotten how amazing psychedelic art was.
"Chet Helms, whose name has become synonymous with the Family Dog, was central a figure in the Haight Ashbury hippie community and had his finger securely on the pulse of the times. It was through his foresight and diligence in spreading the word of the new ethic by distributing posters throughout the community that the psychedelic poster movement took form. It is this close association with the most positive elements of the times that has endeared the Family Dog posters to a whole generation of collectors."
-
Cathi, those pups seem to have a touch of the too-cute-for-words syndrome. Watch out! I'm excited to live through the new puppy experience vicariously.
Hey Mouse, good to see you!
Elaine, it must be difficult living with no cuddly, demanding creatures. Empty nest is a great time to bring one in. Will your nest be empty when dd leaves? Where is she going? My youngest is a sophomore at Whitman.
Jane, I can't believe what is going on there. Whole towns wiped out. I'm glad you are in a safe place. Do you have any of your old drawings you could scan? I'd love to see them. The 60s era was so amazing. My era, actually, but I was too busy having babies to be involved much, so am enjoying re-connecting.
Not a Dead poster, Val, but Family Dog did do their posters when they performed at the Avalon Ballroom or the Fillmore (San Francisco)
"A Star is Born"...what a perfect title, Lisa. She will love it. Have fun scrapbooking. As for Dennis...he sounds like a serial monogamist, off to charm the next one. He gave you some really precious moments and made you feel treasured. I hope those memories will outlive the pain of his backing away. Yes, there is a reason he's been single for so long...short attention span when it comes to women. Postive healing energy coming for Oliver. Fingers crossed, too just in case!
Oh, Nancy, do I ever understand the dreaded canceritis flares. Hooray for breaking through! Weather is certainly a trigger. I'm halfway into my second year, and can say that the frequency of incidents is diminishing. Hang in there.
Shirlann I love your cat stories. I can just see Cleo giving you a morning eye-opener! How old is Dusty?
Hey, Kathleen! Welcome. Now we have Oliver the dog and Mister Oliver the cat. Cute. My cat is Agnes of God. -
Lisa, I think you are being very wise re the Dennis situation and Judie has really expressed it well. You have some lovely memories but you deserve a lot, lot more. I love your ideas for Olivia's scrapbook - it will be so beautiful! Please give little Olive a hug from me - I hope those antibiotics work quickly and he gets his balance back.
Nancy, I hope the bootface blues pass quickly - it's not a good place to be.
EWB, I wondered about the jellytot too! It sounds great though.
Nettie, hope you are doing ok. xxx
Judie, the final death toll in the fires is expected to reach beyond 300 people and over a million animals which would include native animals, sheep, cows, horses and domestic pets. There are people in hospital with horrific burns and animals who are being treated as well. I wish that all houses in these bushfire prone areas could have concrete bunkers under them. The danger is not over yet as there are several huge fires still burning out of control. Survivors are living in tent cities on sports ovals. It is believed that these fires were lit by sickos who get some sort of power trip by seeing the fires blaze and destroy all in their path. If caught, they will be charged with mass murder.
Love to all here,
Jane xxxx

Bleerrrggghhhh!! I think I had one too many of Bailey's on ice yesterday. My head isn't feeling too great. It was worth it though---yummmmmmy! It's that darn Nutrisystem's fault--I don't get to eat enough to soak up the alcohol!
Thanks for the congrats, Nancy, Lisa, Jane and Dawn. I'm feeling so relieved. If it wasn't for this stupid headache, I'd be feeling pretty darn great today!
Nancy, I've had the canceritis a lot lately. I'm just so darned achey. It's hard to keep the brain from going there, isn't it? Stupid bootface!
Kathleen, that dog on your avatar is sooooo cute! I just want to give that furry little face big 'ol smooches!!
Speaking of dogs, Tinker is still hanging in there, but there are times when she'll be walking and she just collapses. She still has a healthy appetite though, and she doesn't appear to be in any pain--the walking issue is just muscle weakness. I just have a bad feeling that she has bootface.
Jane, I'm so glad you aren't near those fires. I immediately thought of you when I saw the news report. I feel so badly for the people who have been effected.
I read on Facebook that our dear Sue has the flu. Please rest and feel better, Sue!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Oh, I forgot to ask---how was the manhattan, Elaine? Thanks for the kind words!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Karen, take it easy and try to rest. So sorry you have a headache but I'm sure the relief of hearing the great news will compensate.
Hugs,
jane
-
I've hardly left my bed all day, Jane! LOL!!!! The feeling of relief more than makes up for feeling a little bit yucky. Thanks for always being so caring and kind. Love you, Jane!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Hi Karen Sorry to post late but woooooohooooo, I am so happy for you. I could just dance around my desk but then I would get caught on the internet. Hehehehehe
Leesa
-
Ooooop! Don't do that Leesa! I wouldn't want to be responsible for the disciplinary action that would ensue as a result of that! Love ya!!
Hugs,
Karen
