Shelia hoping the best in the job for you, yes the economy is ruff right now, typically JAN-March Ed makes more than half his yearly income (He's one of those sleezy Used Car Guys - LOL) not this year, no way near, he has 2 problems , bad economy - people not buying, and because he buys cars at the auctions from the big dealers who take in trades -there are very few to buy, people are not buying new cars, so he is very limited on what he can purchase even when he has a sale. Sooooooooooooooooooooo anybody need a good, reliable, quality used car - just call Smooth-E (his code name -LOL)
Karen your brothers business is most likely picking up as people take better care of their cars and are keeping them longer now , thats very good for mechanics and repair shops.
-
I agree Cathi. Olivia needs a good used reliable car....but you and Ed are so far away. Darn.

AE -Love the HAPPY DANCE, I think thats me there in the background in another 50 (ok 30 years) I hope!

Hi Jane! The technician said that the radiologist should be able to tell me something right after my u/s on Tuesday. Hopefully, he won't recommend a biopsy. I just pray it's nothing. Thanks for always being so sweet, Jane.
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
Good Morning sisters...
It sure is a sweet moring today!! I feel like singing with the birds...
Karen I just know yours is going to be b9..and no biopsy needed. Although I have to say my experience was a good one.
Ladies if you have not seen the thread MOODY/KARENS DAUGHTER OLIVIA ..please look at it and say prayers for her 13yr old daughter. She has been in the hospital almost a week and can't eat and is nauseas etc. She has lost weight, and they don't think she has a petuitary gland..but they are still trying to figure out what is wrong with this poor child. LETS ALL PUT HER IN OUR PRAYERS!! thanks so much.
Back to work!!

Well, Lisa, you have two birds here willing to sing with you...a Wren and a Towhee. The wren's song is bubbly, lively, and it's hard to believe it is coming from such a tiny bird. The towhee song isn't as pretty, but has been likened to saying "cup of tea" with cup high, of low, tea in the middle. Perfect combination for a happy morning!
Now, on to Karen's B9. (LOL I mistyped that at first...it came out Karen's B0!...giggle...)
Off to get laundry out of the machine...so exciting!
-
YEAH LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am doing the crazy happy dance for you!!!

And like I said , you and Lisa , are gonna be talkin' me down , cause my mammo is Feb. 27th. Montra time "I am well , I am fine. I am well , I am fine... The ladies here are so talented and kind. Oh , I ment to tell you and Jane , (hi Jane!xxxx) that my Lilly makes that sound too! And she plays fetch also! Cathi , hope you are feeling better each day. Tomorrow is gonna be your warm day. So go outside and catch some rays. You cracked me up when I read about Ed's jumpsuit. That was to funny. Sounds like he was a wild and crazy disco guy way back when! Love you , xxxx
Hi Leesa! Hope all is going well with you. I want to read back through the posts to yours , but I will loose this post if I do. I love reading your post though , and hope you are having a great start to a relaxing , peaceful weekend. Love you , xxxx
Hi Jane , I was thinking about you today. I thought our spring is just around the corner. So your fall must be not to far away. I wonder what winter will be like for you in the mountains? Is there a small town where you are? Or do you have to travel a great distance to shop and stuff? I bet it is so beautiful there. Did you ever rent out your other house? If you did , remembering the neighbors there , I hope it was to some one from PITA! Or ASPCA. Oh , don't get me started...lol Love you Jane , xxxx
Hi Cheryl , how are you coming along? Hope you are feeling alittle better each day. You're in my thoughts and prayers daily. Love you xxxxx
Hi Sue
! How goes it?! Did you get your map of the states yet? Yes , the U.S. is very large , and we are all spaced out. But maybe we can all gather together anyway.Hoping so much to meet you someday Sue. And by the way , you said two of my favorite Sueisims' "chocolate teapot" and "got a cob on"! Love it! You are one of a kind Sue! Love you , xxxx
Shirlann , where are you? I don't think I read a post from you in awhile. Are you on another one of your fasinating journeys? Hows Walt , the boys and the furbabies doing? Maybe you could swing by and give our newest sister here some words of incouragment.Netts. She is from Scotland. Love you Shirlann.xxxx
And before I forget , Welcome Netts!!
Its sooo good to have so many different ladies here from all around the world. We will help you , anyway we can. I had a mast. with recon. I was er , pr + , her2-. I did four rounds of chemo. No rads. I was diagnosed Feb. 20th 2007. I had my hair cut short before it fell out. I was not a "wig person" , I just couldn't stand it! So I wore scarves. I lost my lashes and brows , but they grew back pretty quick. Although some brow and hair came back more grey. But nothing that cosmetics can't take care of! When I had chemo , my appetite was poor. But its funny , I carved certain things and just had to have some , like when you are pregnant! I carved potatoes , mashed , baked , fried. And milkshakes. Popsickles are good to eat after chemo. They soothed my mouth and tasted good to me. Also ice tea. I did eat one of my favorite foods then , tuna. And I got sick. It was a while before I could enjoy it again. Well Netts , good luck to you. You are in my prayers. If you think of more questions , don't hesitate to ask. Love you , xxxx
OK ladies and UB , I am gonna post this before I lose it! Have a great weekend everyone. xxxx Melody

OMG!! That dog is hideous, Mel!!! What a crack-up! Took me a second to figure out what it was. Thanks for the chant! I'm totally feeling the mantra!
I'm sooooo angry right now! Portia failed Geometry last semester--it's just not clicking. We hired her a private tutor and everything, but she still failed. She talked to her dad on the phone a little while ago, and he was bitching her out and saying she was going to become a loser like me. What a total a$$hole!! Grrrrr!!!! I could just spit nails! He told her she would end up flipping burgers because she's so f--ing stupid. Unreal! She was bawling. I want to send him the nastiest e-mail, but she made me promise not to say anything to him. Stupid sh&thead!!
Okay, I need to go have a drink. Have a good weekend everyone! I love you all!
Hugs,
Karen

Hi Mel, love the picture of the dog! I just googled it and I think it's a French Mastiff - what a slobbery dog! A bit scary! I remember seeing a couple of those dogs (behind a safe fence - thank goodness) and there was so much slobber streaming from their mouths it was hilarious!
Mel, my dx was on 26th Feb, 2007 - is that the day before yours or do you just happen to have your mammo on that day? Will be keeping everything crossed for a perfectly clear result.
We are having a dreadful heat wave at the moment. In fact I heard on the radio this morning that a place in the west of my state is going to be the hottest place in the whole world today - 47C - that's nearly 117 degrees fahenheit! I'm glad I'm not there... It's mid- 30s here. I am longing for the cool of autumn - and fall is a very appropriate term as there are lots of exotic deciduous trees here - maples, elms, oaks, ash, etc
I live on the edge of two towns here - it takes me about 12 minutes to walk to one and 15 minutes to the other one. It's great exercise as the streets are very steep. In this weather though, it is hard to walk anywhere!
Karen, I had private tutors for my eldest son for his final year of high school but nothing worked! He preferred to socialise - his results were not great! However, he has gone on to do quite well so there is still plenty of hope. I hate the way your ex spoke to her about you though - what a beast!
Judie - so great to hear you sound better! I love your description of the towhee's call - her sweet and cheerful!
AE, I keep looking at those crazy happy dancers and it makes me laugh every time - so funny!
If I scroll back to comment on everyone else's posts I might lose this.
Love to everyone,
Jane xxx

Hi ladies, stpping bye for a quik visit,
Wren, I agree, Sue ... you need to write a book - I'd buy it! You say it in words what we all want to say! When I read your anger I am saying yes! yes! get that bootface!
Towee, at times I regret havng the surgery. Thinking I should have had the mast and been done with it. All my lady friends keep telling me "i'll love my 'perky boobs'" I never had perky ones before, Drains are still in, ps says too much fluid still draining, so the burn is still there. On antibiotics, one of the holes is red hot . oh boy . . .
Lisa and Karen ... again the waiting. hugs and prayers to you both!
Karen, dayum ... still chanting B9 for you both. The waiting never stops.
Sue, love that poster!
Jule ... Your recon will hurt more than the mast? I think that will happen. Where the mast was done, I have no feeling. I am so surprised at the lack of pain there. I am (mind blank, can't find the word to say what I want to --- Sue??? help!) with the loss of feeling in what is left of my breast! The pain I have is from all the swelling around my arm pit - under, the front, behind. Looks like I have a boob growing to the right of my pit, above where it should be! I keep telling myself, this, too, will pass.
Nets, I am triple negative, too. If I understand right, that means we have fewer treatment options. I know there is no talk of hormone therapy for me. I had change of life a couple of years ago, no monthlys for that long and never had a hot flash, suxuth.
When I saw my surgeon on Friday, I got me lab results from the surgery. When he saw me in the hospital, he said that when they tested the tissues (dang, they removed 1170 grams ... that's a LOT of me) (I really am tired already of peeps saying You'll like your new boobs - I like my old one just fine, thank you), they might find some deeper tissue that could test out positive. During the surgery when they removed my nodes, they said they were inflamed so we were concerned about them so took out more. At the office visit yesterday, when he said they were B9, my doc jumped when I hollard YEAH!!! - guess he wasn't expecting that
My doc avoided me at first, took a patient out of tourn, the little bugger. Then said to me, well, we have ok and we have what we thought ok news. hmmmm, what does that mean? (he speaks with a heavy accent) I asked re the nodes first. Then he told me about the negative status, the size, stage, grade, etc., and then said 'you have no choice, you have to do chemo' . I never knew there was a choice. Positive there will be no radiation tx. Since I have a low immune system, prone to infections, they will do the immunoglobulins at the same time as the chemo (I see my oncologist on Monday to find out my plan) and the treatment can take up to 8 hours.
My home care nurse suggested asking about premedicating before starting chemo, one she mentioned is steriods ... doesn't that suppress the ummune system? I'll find out more Monday.
I still have to look up the details of my lab results. so confusing.
Lisa, YIPPEE!!! YAHOOOO!!! WAY TO GO!!!
Mel, I luv you. You are a gentle cloud in this storm. You always make me smile. Where/how do you post the pics? love them!
Karen, hmmm, sounds like limited father time is in order. No one is going to shine in every subject! ooooo, he makes me mad!
This is what I get for staying away for so long, lots to find out.
Back up stairs. Will check in later.
love and hugs to all,
Cheryl
-
Cheryl - that it such good news about your nodes being clear - wonderful! You must be feeling very uncomfortable at the moment. Infections are common - glad they have you on antibiotics. It will feel better when your drains come out. Hope you heal quickly. Please take it easy and don't try to do too much too soon.
Hugs,
Jane
-
Nana -glad things are going as smoothly as possible, just try and stay as postive and rested as you can -I know thats hard.
Oh Mel my hubby was a sight back then I am sure, I have a few pic's but nothing either of us choose to display (LOL). And yes we are warming to 70"s today and mid to high 70's for the for seeable future -YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I moved here for warmth not frost.
Karen forgive me, but I would like to spit nails at Portia's dad - $#$#@%^ that so reminded me of how my X has spoke to my oldest when we were married, UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. He is in NY now and she is here and old enough and wise enough now that she rarely calls him and when she does he still trying that crap on her and she just gives it back and hangs up. $#$%^%$%^
-
At work today AGAIN...lol...day 6 of my 7 in a row!!! Then 8 DAYS OFF!!!! woohoo.
Cheryl...glad you had NO node involvement!!! WoooHOOOO!!!
Mel...love hearing from you!! I think about calling you all the time...I just need to do it! I don't know what will happen with Dennis and I?? I may never see him again...??
Well..going for lunch.
But...I had to post after reading Karen's post about Portia's dad....what a FRIGGIN ASS!!! OMG...I AM SO MAD, I WANT TO FIND HIM AND WRING HIS NECK AND CUT OFF HIS MAN PARTS!!! THAT'S A GREAT DAD....MAKE HER FEEL WORSE THAN SHE ALREADY DOES, LOWER HER SELF ESTEEM AND SHE IS TO BE SURE TO DO BETTER IN MATH NEXT TIMES. WHAT THE HELL IS HE THINKING????? OH I FORGOT...HE DOESN'T HAVE A DAMN BRAIN!! SORRY KAREN...BUT I AM STEAMING. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, CAUSE MY EX DID THE SAME KIND OF TREATMENT TO ALISE!!!! WHAT AN IDIOT!!
I HOPE PORTIA DECIDES SHE DOESN'T WANT TO CALL OR SPEND ANY TIME WITH HIM, AT LEAST FOR AWHILE!! HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO HAVE ANYTHING FROM HER. JERK!
OK...done...haha...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry Karen - But this is Portia's dad

Ladies, I have to share with you what happened last night when I went out with a fellow bc survivor and her friend. We were having a good time...and the bartender, we thought was really nice..making us expresso chocolate martini's.
Here is what happened next...
Get this....one of the ladies I was with, toasted me outloud..she said "Cheers to NO Cancer" really loud..and the bartender came over and said...lady, please don't shout the CANCER word here in my bar! She asked him why...and he said..."THAT IS LIKE YELLING BOMB ON AN AIRPLANE". Do you believe it?? WTF!!! She got so upset..she cried! He was such an idiot!! We weren't cheering Cancer...we were cheering NO CANCER!! Well....needless to say, my friends only left him a 1.00 tip!! Ass!
How insensitive he was. Her friend said...I hope in his lifetime he never has a sister, or mother or daughter that gets bc. I told her not to be soo upset...that I was ok...and that KARMA IS A BITCH!! He will get it right back at him someday!
Couldn't believe it! Other than that...we had fun!!!!
xoxo

Cathi! Where did you find that picture of Greg? Haaaaa Haaaaaa! That's great!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for making me laugh!
I appreciate the support Cheryl, Jane, Cathi and Lisa. I want to call and chew him out sooooo badly, but I promised Portia I wouldn't. I don't know why she doesn't want him to know that she told me. For some reason, his opinions and comments mean more to her than anyone else's. I can talk till I'm blue in the face, trying to boost her confidence, but he makes one mean comment and all my efforts go out the window. It's so frustrating! She told me this morning that when she told him that she has all A's right now (after two weeks into the new semester), he told her that she'd probably bring them down to D's and F's soon enough. Grrrrrrr!!! I have to stop talking about it now before I get totally pissed off again.
Cheryl, what good news about the nodes! I'm so happy for you! How funny that you startled your doc.
Better run for now. We have my nephew's birthday party to attend this afternoon. They're having it at a u-fish pond for kids. Should be fun.
Love and hugs to all,
Karen
-
Geez! What a total jacka$$, Lisa! I can't believe how insensitive people can be. Men are especially bad. I'm sure he would be singing a different tune if he had a close family member develop cancer. Jerk!!! I'm glad that you had fun despite that negative moment.
Hugs,
Karen -
HERES TO YOUR BARTENDER LISA.....

Cathi...I will have to view any of the pics you posted when I am home..they are blocked from viewing here at work..But thanks in advance!
Do you believe it?? Unreal!!

Dear Karen and Portia , BIG HUGS. I'm so sorry. The loving bond between parent and child is the most special in our lives. Its one of the most unconditional loves their is. We love our parents , no matter what. And we as parents are so very fortunate to have that. And that being said , I have never in my life understood physical/verbal abuse of our children. The only thing I've come close to thinking is , they(the parent) just really don't know how to help children in what ever situation , so they do what they know. Unfortunately , its not a good thing. I guess they thing saying things like that will make them "stronger , and mad so they will do better". Its just crazy. Once you say words of hurt to your children , or anyone , you can't take it back. You can apoligize , but they will always remember. Just hoping Portia , as you get older and can understand life more , that you will take these memories and "file" them in your mind. So when you have children of your own , you can remember this and know its how you DON'T treat the ones you love. And I'm sure with the wonderful , awesome mom you have , you are already learning this. Its so much better to walk away from a situation that is about to make your head explode , calm down , and think before you speak. If I have ever learned anything in life , this is an important one.
Karen , when someone can't figure something out , or have an answer , then tend to blame , or hand it off to someone else. Thats all your ex is doing. Thank God , thats why we call them exs'!!!
Portia , hang in there honey. I could not for the life of me "get"algerbra. But when I went back to get my GED , the teacher was truly awesome. She had a way with teaching. And I got it!! I mean , I actually enjoyed working and solving the problems , that she gave me a book to take home and I did it in my spare time! Sometimes you just need to find the right person who call teach you the way your brain can understand. Don't give up. She would explain things to me , step by step , and when I got to the point where she lost me , then she would explain it in another way. So if you can , try different teachers/tutors until you can say "Ureka" I get it! My teacher said there is nothing more fulfilling than the moment the student "gets it" and there faces light up.
Remember Portia , you are so young and you have your whole life ahead of you. And you can do anything or be anything you want. Somethings take a little more time and effort , but well worth it in the end when you can say , I did it!
Karen , praying God holds you always in His loving Arms so you can have the strentgh you need to get through all the turmoil you are having right now. Love you girlfriend. Maybe to , a hot bath , glass of wine and a nice relaxing shoulder massage from the hubby...
-
Or hey , how about a relaxing day at the fish pond!lol Have fun.Happy birthday to your nephew. I love nephews they are so fun.
-
Lisa , can you say "dickhead"? Thats exactly what the bartender is! I don't get it. Does he think going to a bar gives you cancer!?! What a flaming fool. I wouldn't have left a tip at all. I would of used my pinkest lipstick and drew a ribbon in the bathroom!lololol
-
Mel,
I guess he thought that saying the word CANCER..would be a debbie downer in a bar! ASS!
I like the idea of drawing in the bathroom!! We should have drawn it on our receipt we left him!
-
Oh , Karen , I think Portia knows she has your love , unconditionally. Its her father shes not sure about so she doesn't want to do anything that will rock the boat or make him get so mad that he shuts her out of his life. She just wants his love and approval.
