Sue, when John was little, I put off going to the doctor until I had another appointment at the dentist the same day a week later because I didn't want to take 2 days off at work, and the doctor threatened to put me in the hospital with pneumonia. He didn't put me in the hospital but only gave me enough medicine to get me through the weekend and said I will see you on Monday and give you the rest of the antibotic if you are responding. Please, Please, Please take time to go and get yourself checked out!

Hello, Hello my cyberangles, Scottish Nettie here.

Got the sentinel node biopsy done last Thurs and, it was, indeed, "a walk in the park" A 4 and a half inch scar, VERY little bruising (thank god for Arnica!!!) and almost no pain. I havent taken a pain pill since Monday. I was meant to start Chemo early March, but they are bringing  it forward to tomorrow and Friday. I don't know if they will start the FECING chemo tomorrow or it just blood works etc. Seeing the onc at 10.45 so please keep them crossed for me. Will post and let you know how it al went.

Sweet Sue - I am really upset that you are having a shite time of it, please email me annettewhyte2002@yahoo.co.uk. I also have tons of funnies to send.

    Silly wee example ....

     Irish boy in confesstion ...

"Bless me father for I have sinned. I have spent te night with a loose girl"

"Is that Patrick Murphy?" Father Casey asked

    "Tis" replied Patrick.

"Who was this woman, my son" asked the Father.

"I cannot impune her reputation, Father" replied Patrick.

"You will have to tell me, my son" said the Father

    "I cannot Father" replied Patrick..

"Was it Orla O'Brien? The Father asked.

"Please father, my lips are sealed" sobbed Patrick

"I respect your reluctance Patrick but you must tell me. Was is Roisin Duffy then?"

"Please don't make me tell you!" begged Patrick.

"You must confess Patrick.  Was it Alana Flaherty"? the priest persisted.

"I can't take away her reputation Father. I'm sorry" poor Patrick begged.

"One last time - it must have been Sinaed O'Conner" the priest insisted

"FATHER - I WILL NEVER betray her" Patrick shouted.

The priest thought for a minute and sighed "All right Patrick. You have sinned and therefore cannot be an alter boy for the next month. Now go do your Penance"

Patrick's friend Eamon whispered when he left the confessional "What did you get Paddy"

Patrick whispered back "A months off work and 4 great tips on who to ask out"

Again great cathcing up with you all, Sue please contact me

Jellytots are lovely wee sweeties, my darling sisters and .....

I love you lots like jellytots.

I check in tomorrow with an update.

    Nighty night

I'm glad the sentinal node biopsy went well for you, Nets.  I didn't have any trouble with it either.  Hang in there!  I'll be thinking of you as you get the dreaded FECing chemo.  You'll breeze through it like a champ--I'm sure of it!

What I forgot to mention when I went home I was on strict instructions not to leave the house for anything that weekend. fortunately, I was living with my mom and she made sure that I ate and John was taken care of. The rest and antibiotics helped me. Please sue, take time for yourself.

I did get some more bad news today, my mother-in-law had been complaining for 3 weeks of extreme fatigue, short of breath, and racing heart. She went to several different doctors who kept checking her heart but couldn't find anything. Last Friday she went to another one of her specalists (heart) and he sent her to check out for blood clots in her legs. Her legs were clear but they found out that she was very anemic (hemoglobin 7.5) and found blood in her stool. They gave her 2 units of blood Friday to bring up her red blood count. Yesterday they did a colonoscopy and found something in the colon. Today they did an MRI and think she has colon cancer. Friday she was scared that it might be colon cancer, her brother died from it many years ago. Please pray for her. they will be doing surgery on Friday.

Darling, jellytots are lovely wee candies, like spangles. They're old fashioned and no one over 8 buys them.  We call candies sweeties.  You guys will be multilingal soon. As well as speaking British, I am also fluent in Scottish (think Billy Connelly - totally alternative words for pretty much everything - and we Irish Scots also have out own venacular, so be prepared for loads of onamatopedic works (numpty =idiot, drookit=soaking wet, yer bum's oot the windie = your derrier seems to be protruding from the window = not a chance, jobbie = s**t, much nicer donch think?

Sue, I have emailed you, so could you log in and respond, lots of funnies but a wee bit of a lecture - you know why!!!!!

    Also my mobbie number.

Thanks for all your well wishes my International friends, didn't log in this week because I though I had a few weeks before facing the fecing FEC, so had so much to do. Living on adrenilin. Your good wishes mean the world to me.

Sue do log on and respond before I have my bath and take a knockout tab.

    Sue!

I'm so glad you will go to the doctor! I'm holding my breath here until you do!!!

Seriously, get your butt in there right away, and then you can start to feel better.

It's great that you are going to see your dad, but then when you are done, put yourself first... before anything else.

Then, please stop working so much!!! Take some time to find something you can do sitting down, like a hobby or anything so you can rest a bit more.

    Take care of yourself, please.

To all the wonderful people here, please take care of yourselves. I'm going for a physical tomorrow... I call it my "well-baby checkup" cuz I want to be well, baby!  I don't want to go--but at least I can get all the normal bloodwork done, etc when I am healthy so if I do get sick, there is something to compare it to. LOL!

    Hugs to you all!!!

Just back home after my trip to Brisbane. It was so good to spend time with my mother. She is such a little dear. I must visit again as soon as I can. I spent the time sitting next to her, stroking her hair and hands - no time to sketch her hands and I don't think she would have wanted me to draw them. I wish I lived closer.

It was also wonderful to spend time with my sister. I miss her terribly.

Sue - I hope you have a lovely time with your dad and then I hope you come home and see a doctor asap! It's sure to be a case of your lymph system fighting off infection because you work so hard. Also, it could be a bit of lymphoedema due to all this hard work. When I used to overdo things, I could feel the lymph build up in my shoulder, neck and arm - right to my wrist.

Sheila - prayers for your MIL - I hope she can be successfully treated.

Mel - prayers for you and your sister. It's sure to be another benign cyst.

Karen - praying also for your mother - may she get a perfectly clear result. What is with all these mammos? My sister put on the plane today and then drove off to have a mammo & u/s too and she has to wait 2 weeks to get the results - I've never had to wait that long!

Lisa - good for you to get back on the dating train! I hope you have a great date! I hope little Oliver continues to improve.

Nets, Fumi, Debbie, AWB, AE & UB, Dawn, Shirlann, Judie, Wren, Jule, Kaloni, Ann W, Nancy, Suebee, Cathi, Dink, Cheryl and everyone -

    Love to all of you,

    jane xoxo

I just want to echo Jane's suggestion that it might be a touch of lymphadema. I'm seeing a physical therapist now for minor pain and tightness in my shoulder (cancer side) and across my upper chest. It seems to be the very earliest signs of lymph fluid back-up. The exercises and massages are doing wonderful things for it, so I'm confident I won't develop full blown lymphadema. Sue, sweetie, see your doc to rule out an infection or other illness, and when that's clear, get a referral to a physical therapist who specializes in women's health and lymphadema.

I have an excellent physical therapy hospital just a few blocks from my office that's part of NYU Medical Center (The Rusk Institute). I take an early lunch once a week and go over for my session. Actually, today's my day, and I'll be leaving in about 45 mintues. It's not as relaxing as a spa massage, but it feels as good Wink.

All your hard work may not be the right kind of exercise your shoulder needs. You may be over doing it on certain muscles and not building up the other supporting ones. A really good physical therapist will evaluate your arm for LE, note which muscles are tight and work on them with massage, and give you exercises to do that will help strengthen and stretch the weak ones. I was also shown some manual lymph drainage massages which are so easy to do and really keep the lymph fluid from backing up. I've noticed even a little backup can cause some aches in my shoulder and upper arm.

Sue, I don't know how difficult it is in England to get referrals for these things, but definitely push for it so you can at least be evaluated. My health insurance here covers most of it, but I still have to pay $35 a session—money that I just have to find somewhere in my budget because I think it is so worth it.
