Oh Lisa , you are such a good Mom. Your girls are sooo lucky to have you. And you have been blest with three angel-girls. Are kids can be a handful sometimes , but they really are great kids. I thank God for blessing me with such a great son. He can be lazy , and messy , but the core of him is so special and compasionate. I have had people call me after church , and say "I'm not going to tell you what he did , but you have a very wonderful child. Thats all I needed to hear!

haha...it really is!! I have to just hit submit and walk away..haha.
Thank you Mel...you are too kind. I try, but I have made, many, many mistakes as a mother. We were talking about them last night. Danni, Alise and I. We had some laughs and I had to say a few..." I did that...oh my gosh..I am sorry" ! I know in my 22 yr mariage, I was fustrated and took some fustrations out on my children. I think we instill the good morals and kindness in our children, and like your Adam...you get to see it and hear it for the rest of your life! Nothing better for a mother to hear, but how wonderful someone else feels her child is! You are right...the core of the person is what is so important. And you my dear made sure that your son's core was what it should be!! Good job!!
Going to check on my corona's...brb!

here is the site for tracking the flight....I am so silly...but it's calming for me...in a weird way.

Hi to all you wonderful people! I finally got to sit down with my laptop after having a bit of a cleaning frenzy. After 2 weeks of men-at-work traipsing through my house and me not doing much cleaning, it was high time to get to work with the broom and mop.
Sue - I so love the photos of you in your ruby shoes - you look so pretty! How on earth do you eat so much and remain so lovely and slim?! The shoes really suit you! Hope you had a good rest before starting work again and that you start to feel more energy soon.
Oh Melody - what beautiful furbabies! I can see that Lilly is starting to accept Sweetpea - in spite of her high octane energy! So happy to hear that you had a buzzing good time - that would have done you good! Sorry to hear you lost money but sounds as though it was a blast doing it!
I have had next door's Charlie in each morning. He is about 3 months old, a tabby and sooo affectionate. This morning I gave him something to eat (my neighbours, you might remember, never look after their animals) and then he curled up on my lap in front of the heater with his two front paws wrapped around my wrist - so cute! I am very tempted to catnap him when I leave here...
Ulla - I love your photos too! You do look lovely - healthy, pretty and happy. I would love to see those old Swedish houses - I love the last one too - what a beautiful fireplace!
Lisa - I'm sure Danni will have a wonderful time but I know how you feel, seeing her fly off to another country. I hope she gets first class on the way home. I cried when my boys flew away but at the same time I was glad they were adventuring. Isn't it great how you can track the plane? And the price - wow!! What an opportunity for her! Tell her to call in on James & Will in London!
Karen - hope you are having a good weekend and that your dad is continuing to improve. I agree with Lisa - we remember our parents when they were younger and it's so hard to see them get sick and old. My mum doesn't even know who I am any more...
Love to everyone I've mentioned and everyone I haven't. Love you all and hope you are all having a few happy moments. I do feel for those of you who are facing and having surgery and treatments. My thoughts and love are especially with you.

Sue, you look fabulous in your ruby slippers! You sure have a cute little hairdo now too! You look like a petite little pixie--verrry attractive.
Ulla, wow!!! You are really gorgeous too! You look so happy and healthy in your pictures.
Thank you both for sharing them! I just love seeing you both look so happy!!!
-
Sue, Ulla, you look fabulous. Hi to all...I'm too frazzled to say more. A not good ending to a bad day.
Oh, Mel! Lilly really does look a lot like my Agnes. If she has the same personality, forget bonding with Sweet Pea and buy another litter box.
I'm a bit frantic about Agnes right now. She is a 100% house cat and has been for all of her nine years. Some critter, probably another cat, came to our window and Agnes pushed out the screen and took off after it. I haven't heard any horrifying sounds, but it's dark and rocky out there so I just have to wait and pray.
-
Good morning everyone. Judie , I am so sorry Agnes got out. Boy , she sure could be Lilly's sister! She is soooo beautiful. I love her soulful little face. I remember when my Edwina would get out. One weekend , it was rainy the whole time and she had gotten out on Friday. I was frantic , and kept calling her and looking for her, nothing. Then Sunday afternoon , I heard something on my front porch , and it was my Edwina! And , she was dry as a bone! So I think one of the neighbors took her in. I'm not sure , but I was just glad she was home. I will pray Agnes finds her way safely home. Sounds like you had a bad day yesterday. Hope things are better for you today. Big hugs to you Judie.xxxx
Sorry I had to leave you last night Lisa. This site was so messed up. Did you have your coronas? I wonder why your friend never called. I hope shes OK. Have you heard from Danni yet? I hope her flight was good and she is starting her "adventure". She'll be fine.xxxx
Hi Jane , awww , yes , catnap the little one when you move! Sounds like he really loves you... Is your house all ready to be rented out now? Prayers that you get responsible renters. Hey , how was the weekend in the mountain house? You may have said , and I missed the post. I remember you saying you would sleep on the floor(ouch!). I bet you are getting anxious to move already. Hope your weekend was good. xxxx Mel

morning...or should I say afternoon! Oh my...i have had a sloooooooooowwwwwwwww start to my day. I am sitting out in the sunshine reading the paper and having breakfast now!! haha...it feels good to have a tank top on and shorts...trying to get some color to my pale skin!
I am sure Danni is doing fine...I have not heard from her yet. But then, the only way I can, if she gets to a computer to email. With very little sleep the night before...I think that is why I could not wake up today!
Judie, I am sorry you had a bad day. I hope today brings you lots of smiles! Your Agnus looks so sweet. I hope she found her way back home. I used to have a dog called Agatha.
Jane...sounds like you had allot of cleaning to do. It' tough when work is being done at your home. You are so sweet to take in Charlie. I do think you should catnap him. If your neighbors dont' look after their animals, they probably won't even notice!
Danni is not going to London...darn...she could have hooked up with your hot sons!! haha
going back to the sunshine. Have a great day ladies!

Agnes hopped back through the window at 5am. It will remain closed.
Thanks,

Hi everyone! Hope everyone's having a lovely Sunday. I made it to church this morning even after going out last night and getting to bed way past my bedtime.
Judie, I'm so glad Agnes came back home. I imagine you worried about her all night.
Did you have your Coronas last night, Lisa? Sometimes there's just nothing like an ice-cold beer to quench your thirst. Did you ever hear from your friend? Personally, I hate it when you make tentative plans with someone and then never hear back from them. On the other hand, I hope she's okay.
Ulla, I loved your pics. You really do "glow" in them. You look so young, happy, and beautiful.
Wow, Mel! You really were having a hard time on this website yesterday, weren't you? I hate getting those darned duplicate posts!
Jane, my dad seems quite a bit better. He's eating very well again (thank goodness). Thanks so much to those of you who asked about him. It really is so hard. Lisa, your dad is just about my parent's age. My mom will be 80 next month and my dad just turned 79 in March. Jane, it broke my heart when you said that your mum doesn't recognize you anymore. How hard that must be!
Well, we went to a Booster Club sponsored crab feed for our high school last night. They were raising money for the school's football program. It was fun. We saw several people there that I haven't seen since my bc diagnosis. Everyone was really nice, and told me how cute my hair looks (yeah, right!).
Take care everyone. I'll try to bbl.
Love and hugs,
Karen

Judie - that's great that Agnes came home! I should imagine she could tell you a few stories about her night out! She is a beautiful cat - I love her colouring and markings - haven't seen a cat like that before. I'm so sorry you had a bad day and hope today is better.
Lisa, glad you are having a lazy morning - you deserve it. You work so hard and sitting in the sun with the paper sounds like an ideal way to relax. Danni will have such a great time and it will be so much fun hearing about it when she returns.
Mel, my internet is much slower than usual. I wonder if that is coincidence or if it's a world wide thing? It took me 2 attempts to even log on this morning.
Love to everyone,
Jane xxx
-
Hi Karen! I pressed 'send' before I saw your post. Glad you enjoyed your night out. Hope you are now relaxing a bit. How is your house progressing?
-
Hi ladies! I've been having a busy weekend...feeling really good but telling the family I can't help with the clean-up because I'm still weak from my chemo (heh-heh, didn't work). Anyway, I had dinner at a friend's last night over on the Hudson River.
A storm blew down the river and was spectacular, but the best was yet to come. As the dark clouds moved down towards NYC, what should appear on the eastern shore but a beautiful rainbow. And I remembered I had my little camera. So here's a shot of over the rainbow for all of us on the Yellow Brick Road.
Ulla, you do look radiant in those pics.
Sue, you know ruby slippers go with everything.
Loved all the pet pics, too. Someday, we'll have another pet, but right now, we have to get all the recently moved in people settled.
Today was "reorganize the shed and porch day". The shed's done ('cause cop brother and I did it), but all the porch stuff is still out on the deck while bossy brother paints the porch. He thinks he'll have it done by tomorrow...I'm just hoping it's finished by the next rain.
OK does anyone think it matters, when you paint, to do the cutting-in at the corners first or after the wall is done? I say it's six of one-half dozen of the other, but bossy brother insisted I state a preference. Can you believe this conversation?
B Brother: So, what's better? Do the corners and then paint the wall, or paint the large part of the wall and then go in and do the brush work?
NancyD: It really doesn't matter, as long as the paint is still wet. You just don't want to be painting into an area that's already very dry.
B Brother: No, really what's better?
NancyD: Neither. [leaving the porch]
B Brother: One has to be better than the other [following me out to the yard]
NancyD: No, one is not better than the other.
B Brother: Yes, one has to be better. Which one is it?
NancyD: For the final time, one is not better than the other. If you want one to be better, pick the one you want to do first, for heaven's sake!
*****
And that was one of the more reasonable conversations I had with him today. I'm glad I went to church early and had my moment of quiet contemplation before all the ruckus started.
Lisa, I hope you had a Corona or two. After the clean-up today, I had one of my Molson Golden's. Yep, nothing like a cold beer after a hard day's work.
-
For what it's worth, Nancy, I agree with you. What difference does it really make? There's no right or wrong. We always seem to do the main part of the wall first and then do the corners. Don't know why. I imagine it would turn out the same either way.
Gorgeous rainbow! I love it.
Hugs,
Karen
-
I love the pic nancy!! It looks professional...you really captured a beautiful sight!
Here is my 2 cents for painting. My ex is a painter..we had our own business. From what I remember..he always cut the walls in before painting. He would paint around windows..etc first.
Have a good day ladies...I need to get my lazy butt moving!
xoxo

Isn't it tough when parents enter the phase where they are more like our children than our parents? I was lucky that my mom, even though she developed significant Alzheimers, recognized her family members to the end. I worried about and fully expected the day she no longer knew who I was, so I empathize, Jane. I'm so sorry.
Nancy, the rainbow is stunning. There is nothing that moves me like a rainbow. It is hope...beautiful, elusive, transitory, and always returns after a storm.
I've done a lot of painting in my life. That must make me an expert, eh? I says paint what you feel like when you feel like it and don't make a mess.
Mel, thanks for the hugs. I can't believe how much Lilly and Agnes resemble each other. I thought that blaze on Agnes was utterly unique. They both have five-letter old-fashioned girl's names. How big is Lilly? Agnes is about 9 pounds...all feisty muscle. She has the strongest tail I have ever seen in a cat and keeps it erect at all times. In fact, I was going to call her Viagra, but decided it was too tacky for her regal self. Her full name is "Agnes of God" not from the movie, but because she thinks she is the Supreme Being. Agnes plays fetch with twisty ties or a Q-tip and HATES being petted gently...she'll bite if it irritates her. She likes being rubbed and scratched firmly and against the grain. A totally weird cat that I adore...
Ulla, please come to Seattle ASAP!!! My front tooth broke off and I look like a homeless vagrant. I can't smile now. That's just not like me! I don't care if you don't speak perfect Swedish...you can work on my teeth anyway. Heck, I don't speak a word of Swedish myself!
The board has been very, very slow for days now. I wonder if they are doing work on it, too many people are on and overwhelming the server, or the server has a problem. It's not the internet, just this board. Every time I log on I wonder if the whole board will crash and we'll all be scattered to the wind. Scary.
Lisa, looking forward to hearing about Danni's adventure...think she'll share much with you?
Love to all,
Judie

All the picts are great! I have a few picts on my 35 mm camera from when John was in. as soon as I get them developed, I will get them put on a cd and try to post them.
Ulla, Come to NC and be my dentist! I finally went back to my dentist and he wants to crown my entire upper arch because of too many fillings and he thinks that I don't want to see all the silver fillings. but my house needs a new roof more than I need all white teeth and roofing the house is 2/3 the cost of the crowns.

-
judie..am sorry to hear about ur ant tooth ..wish i was close to u ,,it would be my pleasure doing it for u ..
sheila..can i give u a small advice about crownning??if i was u honey i would never let any dentist no matter who is he/she to take the sound tooth tissue that is naturall, normal and healthy and replace it with some artificial chemical resin or light cure filling just coz may be they will look better..its really not a good way to make the esthetic issue ur priority over the healthy good teeth tissues u allready have,,its a crime in my way in judjing things (i dont mean to be agressive against ur dentist)but i am realy sick of those dentists who kept doing these things,,the crownning is a very complicated reconstructional procedure which is done for teeth that r in high risk to be fractured and need to be protected due to so many reasons like having a root canal filling(dead tooth)which became brittle and easily broken so dentist crown them to protect not to make them look better!!and in case of ahving missing teeth u need to cover the endings to make them abutments to built the bridge on them so u use the crowned teeth as ur grounds ...its just so complicated and its not good to go and cover all upper arch just to make the fillings look better!!!!!
the crownning have its own problems with ginigiva and interdental surfaces,,,i would love u to keep ur teeth as they r naturally filled unless u have some good reason for such complicated, costy, unecessary painfull procedure
this is wat i think ,,and u can be happy with a new roof for ur home which is really more important than wat UR PLASTIC DENTIST suggessted
sorry for the long ..dental post,,just felt angry like wen someone wants to do something wroung to one of my family..
am very worried as i have another period today after i thought the tamox and the zoladex injection will put me in menapause,,dose that mean its not working or wat?????i will call the new onky 2moro,,uggghhhhh,,
love u sisters
-
Ulla, I'm not an expert on tamoxifen-induced menopause, but if it happens like natural menopause, it may not be an immediate shut-down. How did the onky explain it to you?
With natural menopause, the hormones flucuate ever lower until they stop completely, so periods can skip a month, then start again if the hormones build up. Some women keep getting lighter and lighter periods until they just fade away. Mine were normal until they just stopped and never came back.
Since there's such a wide range of ways that natural menopause happens, I would suspect that tamoxifen-induced menopause might have a few different ways it happens in women.
-
dera nancy..the problem is not only am taking tamoxifen ,,i am also taking those zoladex injections TO SHUT DOWN CHEMICALLY MY OVARIES just as the onky said..now if these injections should shut it chemically..can i still have a period???
cant wait till 2moro
