I have 6 squares that I would like to send someone for bordering. These are my first attempt at the project, and just want to make sure that they meet your requirements before I do too many wrong. Please let me know where you would like me to send them.
-
Tapmrv,

I'll border the squares and share them with Liz.
Thank you soooooo much for helop us with this project

-
beautiful as always madison. how long does it take to finish an afghan? and a bordering question. do you double crochet 3 or 4 stitches in the corner? i usually do 4, but i noticed on my afghan that some squares have 3 in the corner. what is the better way?
ellie
mb i'm available to border if you need help.
-
Naniam asking me to help her got me busy, I have done up about 10 squares and need to go get some more yarn. Who do I need to send these to for bordering? or I can border them myself if you would allow me to (after I get some black yarn).
Sheila
-
Ellie, it really doesn't matter if you put 3 or 4 double crochet in the corner because we can work the square into an afghan with either. It takes about a week (working after work) to finish putting an afghan together. I can only work on them in the evenings and on some weekends.
Shelia, you can send them to me to border and I'll share with Liz.
I did finish an afghan and have it washed, dryed and ready to be mailed.
MB, I received the squares you bordered.......thank you so much
THank you all for your help......I'm starting on another afghan this weekend.
Hugs, Madison
-
Liz or Madison please PM me the instructions for bordering. I learned single crochet for the baby sweaters. If it needs to be double crochet I guess I will learn that too. Tks.
-
Donna, I sent you a PM.
I'm slowly working on sewing squares together. I attempted bordering one with this cast but decided my Aunt will get it done faster. It will be ready to go to a new home soon.
Thanks everyone so very much for all your continued help.
Hugs, Liz
-
I'd like to help you make squares. I can crochet, I can knit (I prefer crochet). What size squares do you need? Any particular weight yarn? Please PM me the instructions and I will get started.
Anna

Do you know you can go here (link below) and get coupons for A C Moore?

-
Anna,
The squares are 7x9, made with washable yarn. We have used numerous "weight" yarn in the afghans. The main thing we look for in the squares is durability....i.e. can they hold up through washing and drying and in daily use of the afghan.
The afghan square instructions are on my home computer so I'll send you a PM this evening after work.
THanks,
Madison
-
liz,
do you have a cast on your hand? are you ok? did i miss something?
-
Ellie,
Liz broke her left wrist.
-
Great, Madison, I've PM'd you my email address.
-
liz,
i'm so sorry about your wrist. hope you are not in too much pain. if you need help bordering, send some along.
take care
ellie

My squares were put in the mail today.
Teresa
-
Thank you Teresa, I'll be on the lookout for them.
I have another afghan half done.
Hugs, Madison
-
Liz - did you get the squares? Sorry they are not bordered. I haven't learn how to do that yet. Maybe someone here can border them instead. Once Ilearned about your wrist, I was going to send them to Madison but DH mailed out the package before I could change the mailing address.
Anna - Welcome chemo sister! Nice to see you here. I know you are going to love this project.
Thanks everyone for keeping this project alive!
-
Ody, I didn't know you were working on this! I wish I had found you all sooner. I'm working on some squares, both knit and crochet. What's this about bordering?
-
Anna, we put a black double crochet border around each square. This helps Liz and I to stablize and stitch the squares and afghan together.
Thank you again for helping us with this project.
