Hollyann-...I asked him Sunday and he said that the dr is back tracking on dx and ordering another test. The doctor was not happy with the size of the sample and wants to wait 3 months to repeat testing. My son said that she is being cautious because the spot the biopsied was noted on a previous xray and apparently has grown a tiny amount in 6 months. Im confused and worried I guess, but he seems ok with not knowing for sure so I will have to accept it and let him do his thing I suppose.

Im assuming what the dr saw in this biopsy was b-9 at this point or they wouldnt be waiting so am holding on to that thought for now....

    Thank you all

Madison and Liz,  The most recent afghans are absolutely beautiful.  I have started crocheting squares again and when I get a box full I will send them.  I am glad that plain ones are still used next to the one with designs.  I am not very talented.... just enjoy it.   Thank you for all your hard work.  Pam

Pam, I think some of the 'fancy' ones are actually crocheted with verigated yarn and they naturally make a patterned block. But no matter what they are all beautiful.

Laura..... I'll take them!  I spoke with Madison last night and we'll share what we have.

Lucy.... we do a double crochet border in black.  Can't wait to get some squares from you.

Pammy..... yeah!  I don't do anything fancy.  I did have some lessons in "fancy" from MB when I was in Baton Rouge, but my brain doesn't connect with the instructions!

    jenni.....:)

If anyone needs my address or Madisons, let us know.

    Hugs & Thanks SOOOO much!

I finally got them packaged and will get them in shipping today so you should see them soon...I forgot to count them but there are quite a few....they are not bordered or tailed so hoping it doesnt cause too much more work for you and Madison. I tried to tail but the hands just wont allow it right now.

Have my appt with doctor this afternoon so am hoping she will have some answers for all this achiness for me.

You ladies do such lovely work....Im so proud to be part of this project!!!!!!

I am almost finished with my latest doily and 2 christmas bells and a pair of booties......I also bought a book of crichet hats yesterday........I won't have so much time after this week to do too much crochet as I am going back to work next week at my old job........

Holly-you crochet with the fine thread too???? I do too..I love, love, love making doilies....my grandmother taught me years ago and I am the only one left in the family who does it....I make several doilies for xmas gifts each year.

I also love to sew....I have grandchildren that just love their blankets, pillow and outfits.

The Tramodol doesnt make you loopy???? I took it for a week during rads and dont remember now what it made me feel like....I have tried all the "OTC" meds and nothing works so not sure what she will do about this.....I tried Femara but found it definately worsened this so went back to tamox.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.

Jule, I also do thread crochet. I have many patterns for snowflakes (that I just shared with Holly/Lucy) and patterns for angels. I got a book from Annie's Attic with 5 or 6 different larger Angels that I haven't gotten to work on yet but they are gorgeous. I made snowflakes and gave them to the ladies in the ps office and made him an angel ornament. When I was younger I also did the yarn crochet (won blue ribbon at the county fair for rainbow sweater as a 10th grader) but lately, my hand/wrist hurts too much when I crochet too much with the yarn but the thread doesn't bother it much.

Sheila, I still need those crochet lessons as I am still only doing the one crochet stitch - at least I should learn how to border.  How are you?

    Hi everyone,

Doilies and thread crochet............I used to do this years ago.    Then changes feel strange on the fingers when I go from thread crochet yarn to baby yarn to worsted weight yarn. I purchased a book last year on symbol crochet doilies to use a refresher course.

I'll have to learn to make baby booties for the expected grandbaby.Smile

I did finish one afghan for the baby:

Naniam I am doing fine. Call and we will try to get together soon and I will brush up on some other stitches to teach you.

Madison that white afghan is beautiful. My uncle crocheted me an afghan for my son when I was pregnant with the popcorn stitches in the border. I haven't gotten that stitch down Undecided. The thing is he didn't make afghans for any of the other great nieces or nephews that I know of Laughing. I crocheted an afghan for my first great nephew and made a quilt for his younger brother last year. I think that afghan was the last one that I finished (4 yrs ago).

Madison, that is the most beautiful child's afghan I have ever seen. Only in my dreams will I ever be able to do that kind of work.  I'm so thrilled for you and this baby is going to have one special grandmother.

Sheila, will catch up later.  My life is still not in normal mode yet with DH.

First of all-Liz, the box is on its way!!!!!!!!

    Madison-that is one beautiful afghan!!!!!

Sheila-you are such a crafty girl!!!!

I had my appt with pcp yesterday..she put me 2 grams of fish oil daily, told me to stop the lovastatin and is working on scheduling me for appt with specialist-reuomatologist(sp)....said the blood test shows that there is lots of activity and she is sure it is RA Yell so on to the next tread mill of getting things figured out. Oh well, such is life.

I made two more squares last night and will keep chugging away at them...I also need to start a couple of doilies for the holidays too...its seems kind of backwards but the smaller thread doesnt make my hands hurt so much.....

    Hugs to all

Jule, that is why I don't do the yarn crochet much anymore, the thread crochet doesn't hurt my hands much either. I think it has to do with the smaller hooks and thread I don't twist my wrist as much as with the larger hooks and yarn. I just like to stay busy with crafts and if I get bored with one craft I have another waiting to finish.

Does anyone have a crochet pattern for a pink ribbon afghan or something for breast cancer?  Not squares.  I don't like doing squares, lol.  Many thanks.  Also, I have two sisters with BC (which is why I'm doing an afghan) and was wondering if there is a discussion here with family members and cancer or if anyone has participated in any study done.  Many, many thanks to all who helped me get through a rough time.

Rose - here is the link to one - it is squares but you put them together to make an afghan.  I'll look and see what I have in my books too.http://www.crochetcabana.com/Patterns/Afghans/cancer-ribbon-filet-afg-w-chart-petit.pdf

Rose, I don't have a pattern for that specifically but on Annies Attic website there is a book 'think pink' that has (i think) 31 projects for breast cancer. I will try to find the link and add it.

Rose - This is probably more what you're looking for - you can buy the pattern pretty cheap here online http://www.e-patternscentral.com/detail.html?prod_id=5744&cat_id=488&criteria=

I have the Think Pink book from Annie's Attic, just haven't had time to make anything from the book.

I also found a breast cancer afghan pattern on the internet. Can you take time to so some searching on the web?

Thanks to all.  Guess I'll take a trip to Michael's this weekend, but I will also go to the different linkks.  I'm sure I can work with at least one of the suggested patterns.  I really appreciate your help.  It's something to do in the waiting room, lol.  Three of the four sisters has BC -- what are the chances???
