I would never consider Scott, but there is some truth to this not being able to vote.

I bet many of us ( I did ) had the same question swirling in our heads.

Where do these people turn up and how the bleep do they end up being able to be elected. Sort of makes you think the final candidates for any ofc. should have to pass a test. Somewhere inside this man above is way too much un-educated orange.

To the Arizona GOP rep: You can wear a condom on your nose if you think that this will prevent the spread of Covid but it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, wearing a mask on your penis might be a tad uncomfortable and hard to keep in place, but go ahead and give it a try. How do these morons get elected?
The memes are great and the blonde bimbo above prepetuates the myth. She should be chipped for her own protection.
If I'm going to be chipped can it be with crunchy Cheetos? I know they are not a chip but they are my favorite cheat.

Please chip me with Trader Joes thick chips, but if they are too big to get into a syringe, then Lay's thin ones are OK.
Sadly, that lawmaker from Scottsdale AZ, Rep. Joseph Chaplik, from Scottsdale, persuaded the Arizona House to let businesses ignore mask mandates to stem COVID spread partly by arguing they weren't needed decades ago to stop the spread of AIDS. With folks like him, I think Arizona will soon be the Mississippi of the west in terms of education.

Supreme Court Refuses To Block Indiana University's Vaccine Mandate
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett refused Thursday to block Indiana University's requirement that most students on campus this fall be vaccinated against COVID-19. It was the first time the Supreme Court has weighed in on the legality of such mandates, which hundreds of U.S. universities and some companies have adopted amid the pandemic.
Indiana University was sued in June by eight students who claimed the school's vaccine requirement was unconstitutional. The university has said all students, faculty and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are approved for an exemption on medical, religious or ethical grounds. Students who are exempted must wear masks on campus and be frequently tested for the coronavirus.
After a federal court in Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit both sided with the university, refusing to block the mandate while litigation continues, the eight students sought an emergency injunction against the requirement from Barrett. The justice, an appointee of Donald Trump, has jurisdiction over the 7th Circuit.
"IU is coercing students to give up their rights to bodily integrity, autonomy, and of medical treatment choice in exchange for the discretionary benefit of matriculating at IU," read the students' petition to the Supreme Court, according to CNN.
Barrett ― who could have referred the case to the full court but chose to act unilaterally ― sided with the lower courts and denied the students' request without additional comment.

Love your meme Ruth since there is a lot of truth in it. Glad ACB did what she did. I read something earlier that termed her as 'chicken' to push forward in any way. I don't think she should be on the court -- along with a couple of her cohorts there, but I do think she made the right choice. In my mind I think it possible for the SC judges to feel some un-certainty with all that is going on and at stake right now.
I really think this fight ( TX and Fla ) going on right now is going to just further drag down the Reps. party and if they don't do something to get control of all the CRAZY, they may just go ahead ( sadly I've said it for yrs. and not been right ) and do themselves in. This is though what George Conway seems to think as well. He says much of what is going on right now is criminal and should be treated as such. I'm thinking he is heavily including the orange thing and all those who are still trying to overthrow our government -- like Lyndell, Giuliani etc.
Always look forward to some respite for the week-end after some of the 'crazy' weeks. I read earlier as well that R. Maddow is feeling a bit burned out which is why she took the long two weeks off and we didn't see her on MSNBC. She has been very devoted to her job, but I think may need a re-vamp of her long and very full schedules for her 5 day program set-up. How many times just in the past four yrs. of the orange thing did her whole show pretty much have to be dumped to take care of lake breaking news. Yet -- she retained her sanity. So, I do hope MSNBC' ( with a new manager by the way ) can help make her staying on with some strong adjustments to her program which give her some time off for friends and family will happen. I really can't imagine not having her as one of the anchors and she is really the top one.

Trump Comments on "Tragic Mess" in Afghanistan, Asks: "Do You Miss Me Yet?"
Former President Donald Trump has issued a statement remarking on what he called the "tragic mess" in Afghanistan and other issues, such as high inflation, that are directly affecting the United States. "Tragic mess in Afghanistan, a completely open and broken Border, Crime at record levels, oil prices through the roof, inflation rising, and taken …

I got quite a kick out of this. Can this loony buffoon actually believe that anyone misses him. Well, yes I know. Of course he does. Who wouldn't miss the grandeur that he is. Well, I miss him about as much as I would a case of the clap if I'd ever had it.
I am just about to finish the ? last orange guy book by Michael Wolff " Landslide ". I really wanted a couple of others, but they have not come out yet so although I was waffling on this one went ahead. I'm not un-happy about it. Not so much that there was much new to learn, but there was a lot of fleshing out in parts that I had not heard so it hasn't been a waste. I also felt as well that unlike his ( Wolff's ) first two books this had what I felt was a more serious tone to it. Those first two seemed to be more in the nature of finger pointing and demeaning of Trump ( wholly deserved of course ) and while I read them I really had concern that this ( pretty much last in the series ) book could be on that level and I would not have been happy. Those sorts of things wear thin -- even if it is about the orange abomination.

I have no idea after all these yrs. but when I went into the service at some point fairly early on our platoon lined up and started walking down a row of two or three nurses on each side. We were getting shots in each arm -- most I think were boosters for our childhood shots I believe with a possible one or two more on the off chance that any of us would end up in some of the overseas countries. I never went overseas because in general in those yrs. you had a choice if not in National Guard.
When we were young, we really didn't have a say about immunizations. I wonder if those people who refuse now are having nightmare's about what was "forced" on them way back then. One nice advantage -- they are alive to have their feelings. Sadly they might be taking that chance away from some of their own children. Was just thinking about a father from Kentucky who had to, with his wife, watch their baby son be placed in an ambulance and taken to the hospital where they can't go wondering if that was the last time they were going to see him. That father is now begging people no to do that to their kids nor themselves either.

Afghanistan khosh amaden ! (Welcome to Afghanistan!)
I think some of you know I was a Peace Corps* volunteer in Afghanistan from 1977-1979. Over the intervening years I have kept a close watch on the situation there. Although like most, I could not have predicted that Kabul would fall so quickly but once they had taken Kandahar, Herat and Mazar (i Sharif) it was inevitable. Actually from the day of the revolution in April 1979 it was inevitable. Clearly some chose to ignore the history of endless defeats foreign armies have suffered in Afghanistan. Someone failed to understand the fact that Afghanistan is still a very tribal society. To me, it is a complete failure because we refused to comprehend the societal, cultural, tribal, and religious fervor that is the foundation of Afghanistan. It is a way of life that is very difficult for Americans to comprehend.
My heart breaks for the thousands of translators and others who assisted the US in country. Unless they get out, I believe they face certain death and their families as well. My two years there were pivotal experiences for me and I owe so much to that period of time in my life. May there be peace there someday.
Khodafez Kabul jahn.
* Afghanistan had the highest early attrition rate of any Peace Corps country at the time (volunteers leaving before their 2 year commitment). It was never an easy place for foreigners to live.
-
What part of the country were you stationed in?
Yes, it was unfortunately going to happen. I just wish it had been a more staged retreat with the US evacuating all those translators and activists before evacuating the troops and diplomats.
