Mentioned on another thread that I won't be going to work on the farm tomorrow as a family member has covid. I haven't heard different so it sounds like 19 and not a Delta variant. Still to be on the safe side we decided the cleaning could wait another week. She thinks all is okay but no need to take un-necessary risks she says.
The good part is that the offending Reps. that never intended to get their vaccines are now convinced that they need too. I do hope not only that they follow through which I think they will -- but hope they will not stop at just one injection unless it is Johnson and Johnson. I do not know what the current thinking is on using a 'booster' with J&J. So interesting that some people have to be hit head on. Glad for the others who may be saved, but I hope they see now how many people get affected by their insistence on their freedom of choice. I don't even see these people -- but I will not go to work because of their behaviors.
Trump lovers find such delight ( until they start to suffer ) in being recalcitrant. I still think so many people were given the freedoms to push the envelope as far as it would go -- just forgot that one little thing. Covid in any form doesn't care how or why you make the choices you do. When its your turn, its your turn.

"Do your research!!!"
Here's the thing. Research is a learned skill; it is hard, it is nuanced and complex, and it is true that the majority of people would not even know where to begin or even HOW to do [their own] research.
Research is NOT:
Googling, scrolling your FB newsfeed, or watching YouTube or 4Chanto search for the results you are hoping to find to be "true." These are called confirmation biases, and are quickly and easily ruled out when doing actual research.
A post credited to Linda Gamble Spadaro, a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, sums this up quite well:
"Please stop saying you researched it. You didn't research anything and it is highly probable you don't know how to do so.
Did you compile a literature review and write abstracts on each article? Or better yet, did you collect a random sample of sources and perform independent probability statistics on the reported results? No?
Did you at least take each article one by one and look into the source (that would be the author, publisher and funder), then critique the writing for logical fallacies, cognitive distortions and plain inaccuracies?Did you ask yourself why this source might publish these particular results? Did you follow the trail of references and apply the same source of scrutiny to them?
No? Then you didn't…research anything. You read or watched a video, most likely with little or no objectivity. You came across something in your algorithm manipulated feed, something that jived with your implicit biases and served your confirmation bias, and subconsciously applied your emotional filters and called it proof."
This doesn't even go into institutional review boards (IRB's), also known as independent ethics committees, ethical review boards, or touch on peer-review, or meta-analyses.
To sum it up, a healthy dose of skepticism is/can be a good thing…as long as we are also applying it to those things we wish/think to be true, and not just those things we choose to be skeptical towards, or in denial of.
Most importantly, though, is to apply our best critical thinking skills to ensure we are doing our best to suss out the facts from the fiction, the myths, and outright BS in pseudoscience and politics.
Misinformation is being used as a tool of war and to undermine our public health, and it is up to each of us to fight against it.

I've always loved to read but I'm not a researcher. Not every one is a book reader like me. But I have read hundreds and hundreds of books. For a long time, before the internet, I also read tons of magazine articles. Then after x number of years, I began noticing a lot of repetition in magazines, things I already knew. Compared to books, articles are often superficial, only touching the surface of a topic. Any time I want/wanted to understand something in greater detail, I sought out books. They were and are so much more satisfying to gain comprehensive views, more of a complete picture of the subject matter. It's like eating a snack on the fly vs sitting down to a good meal.
I'm not sure how many people read books to further their knowledge. But reading books alone is not research per se. Still, a lot of people don't even bother to dig that deep. They simply surf, skim and scour the internet because it's the path of least resistance. I think after awhile, you get to know who those people are. I'm finding it easier to avoid them.

Learn to get in touch with silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to use to learn from.

Yes, the orange bully ( dumber than a box of rocks ) does know how to inflame others to the point of doing his dirty work --- and I am totally convinced he really does love it with his so highly vindictive nature. Sure he is completely convinced we all have it coming and have done things to richly deserve it -- never noticing it seems that he is the actual creator of the horror and chaos. Guess it really is only the abnormal who are unable to recognize truly normal individuals.

I could not agree more and I have to wonder why such a person still has the ability to use Twitter or Facebook although it is thru a spokeswoman of his. This person should not be allowed to play golf, entertain political friends and otherwise come and go as though he had done nothing. I realize there is a form to how we deal with war criminals but it would be nice to "notice" that some of that 'form' is taking place.

Forgiveness enables you to bury your grudge in the icy earth and put the past behind you. You flush resentment away by being the first to forgive. Forgiveness fashions your future. It is a brave and brash thing to do. The gutsiest decision you can make. As you forgive others, winter will soon make way for springtime as fresh joy pushes up through the soil of your heart. At the time no one envisioned that there would be career politicians able to enrich themselves substantially and with that a major reason to bend or even break many rules to stay in 'power' and help their party do the same. We are in serious need of updating here. Terms for those who serve ( hopefully long enough for good things to get done ) as well as loopholes so that con men and mentally deficit individuals are not able to get elected and twist our Constitution to the max.

It seems to be a fact that this orange one knew how to draw people who had grievances to him. They chose not to question then and they are not going to question now. Many of us had some grievances as well but knew it wasn't the 'person' but the whole party processes. Pretty bad that these people, somewhat akin to bloodsuckers can't let go of something that will ultimately destroy them. Just tell them you love them and they will follow you anywhere while you steal from them. Abysmally stupid.

I'm sure he will tell a lot more lies in Cullman, Ala tonight. Super spreader time.

A re-run that is still spot-on.

If Ron DeSantis keeps up his current behaviors, will there be anyone left to vote in Fla. in '22 and just forget '24 period. I feel for the people who are under the DeSantis thumb for now because he is Gov. of their state and I hope for all of you he gets sent packing which he has done everything in his power so far to deserve.
Florida Is Crumbling Under Ron DeSantis As Residents Now Must Ration Water
The Ron DeSantis caused COVID crisis in Florida has caused a shortage of liquid oxygen, so the city of Orlando warned they don't have enough to purify drinking water.
