Remember the Chrissy doll with growing hair.? My grandpa looked everywhere for this one Christmas and bless his heart he found it push the button and her hair grew these memories make me smile so much
-
We wore gym slips and Panama hats.
Will try to find images of some of our toys.
-
I love all these pictures. Mine is a spinning wheel...put a wad of cotton like stuff, thread it through and you could make threads. I have no idea why I loved it so much and what I did with all those pieces of threads I made.
I remember our silver spinning tree! Wasn't there a colored lamp you could sit in front of back of it that would change colors? Mom was so proud of it.
I loved go go boots and mini skirts! I was happy to see those boots on here...I live in Dallas and the Cowboys Cheerleaders wear them!
-
who wore short shorts?
I wore short shorts
-
Me too Kracker.............I have to find the damn pictures.........
-
If you dare wear short, shorts, nair for short, shorts. Remember that commercial?
Alyson, I love that outfit. The hats are great! I wish they would bring hats back. I remember my Dad wore a hat to work everyday....along with a suit.
I remember playing with a Chrissy doll. But I think it was my friends.
-
Does anyone else besides me remember the New Zoo Review?
-
Who had one of these outfits......lol
-
Saddle shoes and Bobby Socks..............the thicker the socks the better.
-
What about Penny Loafers........I had them too.........
-
Remember my mother using one of these
-
Who had these,,,,,
-
If you were lucky you had this....delivered clean to your door........
-
I will try and find the picture and then try and figure out how to post it. Ha ha. Going out tonight but will try to remember to look for it tomorrow... Oh heck I have a few minutes now before we go. Ok I am off to look for that picture...
-
wow that was easy.. Well finding the picture was easier than I thought it would be. Will scan it in the morning and figure out how to post it here. I would say that I was probably about 4 or 5 when I was on Romper Room. To answer someone's question (can't remember who asked it) I have no clue how I got on the show. I don't remember ha ha ha.. It was at one of our local TV stations..

-
This was a favorite toy of mine. Was constantly running out of black paper.
-
How many of us had one of these?
Same problem though as with the Light Bright - Always running out of and having to buy more cake and frosting mixes. I don't even want to know what toxic chemicals were in those mixes.
-
lightandwind, I don't remember that but I did look at that u-tube video. That guys looks creepy!!
Ducky, poodle skirts, saddle shoes and penny loafers were way before my time. I think my sister wore that stuff though.
Crog, looking forward to seeing that Romper Room picture!
My kids had a lite-brite and an easy bake oven.
-
Ooh - my Mom and I always ate at Woolworths when I took the bus downtown to meet her for lunch (she was a working Mom)...we always had grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, and sat at the counter. But I also seem to remember it always smelled like BO in there....
I remember that Newberry's was the first store in town to have an escalator. Us kids rode it like it was a Disneyland ride, til the clerks finally told us to get off.
Diaper pins! I had to shop all over town to find some when I wanted to pin my drains to my bandages. I had to go to Babies R Us to get them! Sheesh!
-
-
Blessings, I loved those lips!!
-
I loved Woolworths only we called it the 5&10
-
Sewing........yes it was the 5 and 10...........some called it the five and dime.......we had one right behind our house when I lived in Phila...
Blessings, welcome....glad you joined the fun...........Those lips.....I remember wearing the, and then when the piece that went in your mouth to hold the lips on, finally broke.....you shoved the whole set of lips in your mouth and chewed them.....at least we did........God knows what was in that mixture........lol
