Yes! That's the one
This stud in the shiny jacket was to be my future husband. Da Doo Ron Ron Ron, Da Doo Ron Ron
Da Doo Ron Ron Ron, Da Doo Ron Ron
-
I grew up watching Captain Kangaroo every morning. My grandma took care of us during the day while my mom worked. I associate Captain Kangaroo with my grandma, standing a her ironing board ironing sheets!
-
Remember these. In high school this was the purse. Popogala purses
-
clogs too but I can't remember the name of the clogs
-
Maureen - we had those purses, too. We called them Bermuda bags! That was the "preppy" phase, along with alligator shirts and barracuda jackets.
-
Currently there is a commercial that uses the song Chicken Fat. We used to exercise to that song and of course we were wearing these gym suits.
-
I loved, loved, loved Captain Kangaroo and Lamb Chop!!
Had one of those purses too!! This is such a fun thread!!
Remember when we only had 13 channel on our TV. I remember getting a few UHF channels and I thought I was so lucky!! LOL
-
Canadian memories.
Look up.....way up, and I'll call Rusty. My daddy made me my very own "tickle trunk". -
BookWoman, I so remember those gym suits! I hated them with a passion. Hahaha! I had forgotten all about them.
-
And no cable tv at our house. Rotor antennae on the roof
We were lucky and got 4 channels.
-
13 channels???? Lucky! We had 2.
-
I had one of these.
-
hi all just lost my post. Here in NZ we didn't get TV until the early 60s, Remember Lambchop and Charlie horse. Not sure you would have had Thunderbirds but it was a favourite here as Bonanza and Mr ED.
-
Ok, I spoke/wrote too soon. We didn't get channels 3, 6, 8, 10, or 12. But we did have 13 on our dial! hahaha
-
We didn't have a remote control so my brother and I were the remote for my Dad. To make matters worse, he watched shows we couldn't stand! Of course we only had one television and it was in the den.
I think we had five channels.
-
I don't remember Thunderbirds. I did love Bonanza and Mr. Ed though. I still watch reruns of Bonanza. When I grew up I was going to marry Little Joe.
-
What about Petticoat Junction and Green Acres?
-
Billy Joe, Bobby Joe and Betty Joe....I loved that show! I also watched Green Acres as well. Did anyone watch Family Affair with Brian Keith? also, the Carol Burnett Show was one of my favorite. My mom and I used to watch it every week together.
-
Green Acres was one of my grandparent's favorites. I watched it every week with them and we ate home baked chocolate cake. It was one of those great traditions that didn't mean much then but does now.
-
I did not watch Family Affair - we probably didn't get that channel
But I had Mrs. Beasley:
she had a voice like the Church Lady from that Dana Carvey SNL skit.
-
I always wanted a Mrs. Beasley doll. Now that I'm an adult, I've grown out of that now.
-
I was an official card-carrying member of the KISS ARMY. Lame or what?
-
No! I liked KISS too. I'll give you lame.....I liked Donny Osmond and had all his albums.....now that's LAME!
-
Funny how I can remember all this stuff, but can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.
-
Not lame. I have KISS on my running playlist.
Loved the Donny & Marie Show, too.
-
Slow, how come Little Joe and Peter Criss never got the memo that they were supposed to marry US?
-
Good question leggo. I was such a devoted fan too. Followed Little Joe right to Little House on the Prairie. He just seemed to get better looking with each year!
-
Wow ladies...........thanks for the participation......this thread has taken off, and so much fun......I see people I never saw before......Welcome....some I am old friend with......(I'm the old one).........
My 3 older children watched everyone of those shows.........does anyone remember these...were you a good little DoBEE.............what about Princess Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring.....and of course Our Gal Sal........Sally Starr..............LOL
-
haha cute
-
I think this was just a Canadian prairie thing.....Stampede Wrestling. They came to town every two weeks. Dynamite Kid was going to have to marry me too (after Peter Criss and I broke up). One time he reached out while he was walking the corridor and grabbed my hand. I fell to my knees.
