Melody, I was thrilled to share first year status with you. Kind of gave us an instant bond! I salute your bravery in naming names, I know I'd probably forget someone I really loved so I'm staying away from that list
I will agree that I had the timeof my life too. Impossible to explain to someone who hasn't gone with this group. I, too, am already looking forward to next year. I would love a repeat at the Aria!

"AMEN FOR MY FRIENDS".....<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
What an awesome time, every year I go to the trip thinking there is no way is going to be better than the last, and it is!!!!!! You guys are awesome and I hope everyone of you that made it this year will make it next year. I also hope that all the sisters that could not go are there in 2014. Regardless of the time and effort that goes into planning and organizing this event, at the end of the trip I look back and say to myself "It was worth it".....
As horrible and as tragic as this disease is, the fact we have found each other is my silver lining (that and the fact I can wear a shirt without a bra)
I love you all….
Hugs

"Amen for My Friends!!!"
What an awesome time we had!!!! Every year I go to the trip thinking that there is no way that it can be better than the year before.....I am always amazed of how wrong I am. The 5th year celebration was a Great One. I hope next year we have all of the sisters back again, including the ones that could not make it.
Looking back all the time and effot put in this trip, it is totally worht it......
As horrible and tragic as this disease can be, the fact that I found you is my silver lining (that and the fact that I can wear a shirt without a bra....)

Traceyz, I'm so glad we got to have a little time at the Aria (me eating crepes, you watching!) to talk, but I don't feel like I saw you enough times to thank you sufficiently for scoring the deal you did at the Aria, and setting up the piano bar festivities. Of course, I still don't think even those I did get to thank got enough of my gratitude for everything done to make it such a great trip. Whether your name was formally put out there, or whether you were one of the quiet behind the scenes, I offer my heartfelt thanks for your part in making Sept 26 through Sept 30 five of my best vacation days ever. Packer acknowledged a few of you Sat morning, and then there's Packer herself, but I have no doubt there were some other unsung heroes. To all of you....Thank You. -
I have to agree gbusse - this year was great. We missed seeing some of the girls but the newbies joined right in. As my friend said if you did not have a good time with this group this year - then it was your own fault. I still don't have my voice back from all the singing and trying to talk over the music but I definitely had a great time once again with all my sisters. Hugs and love to one and all. -
Saskie, funny about the voice...everyone in work and even my hub thought I was coming down with a cold! I kept saying - give me a few days, it's just my "I've been drinking and staying up late and singing/screaming" voice. It's pretty much all back nowDamn
-
Thank you to all who worked so hard to make this another wonderful year to remember. I miss you all. Hugs -
Jancie and Stephanie both ended up with bronchitis. I hope you are both doing better. -
YEAH! So glad you had a wonderful trip! We had thought much about you all! -
So it is Stephanie's fault I ended up with bronchitus. I wondered who in the heck gave it to me.
Starting to feel human again - been on antibiotics since I got home. -
I have had back "issues" since puberty. Woke up yesterday morning and literally couldn't walk without husband's help. After I stopped crying and realized it was just another episode that I'd have to get through for the next few days, I thought to myself..."Man, I'm glad this didn't happen last week!!!" It's all about the attitude girls, right? I had five wonderful days of laughing, walking miles, dancing my butt off and felt 100% fine. Walked through airports with luggage, all that fun stuff. So I tip my hat and say a prayer of thanks to the timing Gods for giving me perfect health in Vegas. I know this will pass in a few days...I can do this -
Jancie - just remember it was NOT new Stephanie that gave it to youHope you feel better soon!
-
I wasn't passing blame, just sympathy to both of you. Neeners was healthy, happy and full of energy. -
Clearly you didn't see me much Monday morning. I was tired, grumpy, and partially full of vodka still. -
Good for you Neeners, love it that you were partially full of vodka! Mary sorry your back is out. and happy it did not happen in Vegas.
Jancie and Stephanie get well soon.
Hugs to all, have a great Monday. -
Heymoose! It took me a while, but I finally know who you are. Hee hee. Loved meeting you and your mom. If you ever get into the city, let me know so we can meet up! -
Finally figured out who neeners is - Lol my new buddy Stephanie from Jersey!! -
LOL. I didn't know who you were, either! Hurray for Canada -
neeners, as two of the new kids on theblock, I think we get a small pass this year if we don't remember names...but next year? I think we better study!!! -
It is hard when you are trying to identify by BC names that have nothing to do with the persons real name. And 55 people's names is really hard to remember - especially if you didn't get one on one conversations with everybody. You remember more and more names each year Marlegal. Great to meet you girls!! -
I've been with this group of gals for 5 years now & only missed the 3rd reunion . I still make myself go thru the names when I see everyone & still get a brain fart once in awhile. But never never forget a face!!
Miss you all & Thankgoodness for this site & FB to keep in touch till our 6th reunion!!
Take care Chow GOD BLESS 0:) {{HUGS &}} XOXO Susie

Been there every.single.year and still can't remember names! Never have been able to but I sure can remember phone numbers.
So it has been a whirlwind since I got home. At the airport leaving Vegas I got a call about a potential job. Got home Monday afternoon and went straight to bed - sick with bronchitis. Did not get out of bed on Tuesday. Wednesday dragged myself out of bed for the interview and started work the very next day.
Didn't help that I burned my chin (coffee incident) to where the skin blistered on my very first day of work.
I am working 6 days a week but only 4 to 4-1/2 hours per day. I have a 1 hour commute in total to and from work. It is another 30 minutes to my horse.
My job? Personal groomer to the rich horse owners. You have seen the race horse groomers - well I groom hunter and dressage horses for clients and trainers at this 5 star facility and when I say 5 star - OMG I would kill to be able to put my horse in this place!
I get paid to work with horses - I can't think of a better job to have. I am working enough hours to where this job pays for my money pit horse and still have time to ride my horse.
I will also do some "catch" rides for some of the owners when they are out of town.
These horses have to look "ready for a show" at all times so it is some major work I am doing but I LOVE IT SO VERY MUCH!
Miss chatting back and forth with ya'll but it just has been so hectic since Vegas.
I miss each and everyone of you fine ladies - newbies and old friends. I had such a blast and am so thankful I have wonderful friends looking out after me. Some stuff I don't remember (Piano bar night) but hey....life is good. -
Congrats on your new job, Jancie! How wonderful to do something you love. You are so lucky and I am so happy for you! -
Excuse me breaking in here, but we are looking to show your faces, names and quotes at our fundraising event in October (www.rockforbreastcancer.org), and would love your help. This event is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and we'll be joined by hundreds of generous donors.
Specifically, we will have two projector screens up during the event, and want to show the people attending the event YOUR faces--- the women of our community, the women who use and rely on BCO ! Having the opportunity to share your photos and quotes that night will reinforce to our donors, in a meaningful and personal way, just how vitally important their contributions are to our community.
For this, we are looking for people willing to share a photo of themselves (either alone or with family, friends, pets, other BCO members, etc.), allow us to use your first name, say where you are from (it can be from anywhere in the world!), and give us a quote on how important BCO is to you. We are looking to have at least 40 people and have (only) a few weeks to work on this.
If you are interested, could you please email Melissa at mjenkins@breastcancer.org, with your photo, first name, where you live, and your quote? Also, PM us if you have any questions!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us!!

Jancie: So happy about your new job! Sound like a dream job. -
Thanks for all of the well wishes on my new job. I am so happy that I have a reason to get out of bed and do something other than just being a housewife like I have since being dx'd. I also like the idea that I am bringing in money and not depending on my dh so much although he doesn't complain and likes me staying home as the house stays clean, laundry is always caught up, etc. I am finding it hard to do both right now.
I worked at a barn for 3 years prior to dx but had to quit due to the fact I was working around 7 stallions besides the other 22 horses and I couldn't keep my focus so it became a safety issue for me. I had always missed that job although I worked 9 hours a day I was always happy to go into work even if that meant I had to get up at 7:30 every single morning, sun or snow or rain.
I finally feel as though my life is back to normal after BC.
Hope everyone is having a great week. I sure do miss ya'll.
