Over 5 years ago a group of us bonded right here on BCO and decided we wanted to celebrate "LIFE" face to face and side by side! After all that is what "SISTERS" do! And that is how the TA TAS Sisterhood Reunion was born! It gives me happy chill bumps to be planning our 5th REUNION!!!! And we just keep growing! We LOVE newbies and if you join us you will have the time of your life! We eat, party, and play but above all we ENJOY life and SISTERHOOD! I guess you can call it a CELEBRATION OF LIFE! The dates and hotel info are below. I will post booking info next week and ONCE I POST IT you can begin booking your rooms!

I know we are all on Facebook girls...... doing our.. THANG................... BUT .. it is a very positive thing ( IMO) to be posting here too.! So many new DX sisters are SEARCHING this site........ as we all did 5 years ago.. or more........ looking for HOPE..... HOPE..... HOPE ! This is what I did.... and I looked to VETS here.... seeing that they were still alive and Thriving! If I had seen a post............. when I was 1st DX.............. about ladies... who met on BCO... YEARSSSSSSSSSSSS ago...... who were still getting together... and not even ONE of the 50+ ladies.............. in over 5 yrs............... with over 5 different types of BC...had PASSED from the disease, I would have felt empowered! So I think our group is a HUGE testimony of survivors. We met here......... but took it upon ourselves to make..." US"      bigger than Breast Cancer!  We are a private group now, of about 50 and growing.... and we are each others LIFELINE to living after BC! So............ for all you newly DX sisters................................. THIS IS DOABLE! Cancer can be beat............ and sometimes not..... BUT........................... you are " Never Alone".... and you CAN DO THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laura, your post is so true.  I have never felt alone being with the Ta Ta Sisterhood.  I also want to thank the Ta Ta Sisterhood of 2008 and welcome the new sisters that want to join our sisterhood.

Ditto - I don't know what I would have done without all the texts from you beautiful sisters when I was in the hospital a year ago for a month.  Not to mention those cute pants we have floating around from one sista to another.   Welcome to all who want to join the group in Vegas - it was a true blessing for me to meet all these gals.

I think I want to go.

this is just for us warriors-no spouses right? or do people bring spouses? I've never met some of the people here that helped me through all this shit last year. Would love to meet .

Do we drink? I don't really drink now. but am not opposed to a couple of lemon drops.

Do we dance? I like to dance now. but its so hard to find someone to do that with you. Trying to schedule more dancing on my activities. in my little town.. there will typically be a great band playing. but everyone is on there phones FBing probably. and no one wants to get on dance floor.

I'm 46 and I like to cut loose once in a while. I'm all about doing stuff I've never done before. Not sure if I'm ready to jump out of planes though.

welcome fredntan,  I had to giggle a little at your questions...do we drink?....LOL...that is a yes...but I am not a drinker...do we dance?...LOL...heck yeah,every night in Vegas...we do group dancing...sometimes handsome hunks will join in and dance with us....

Last week was the 5th anniv of my diagnosis...I did not have time to think about it since my moms funeral was the day before....not really thinking of anything else...

5 years...WOWZA....

fredntan...last year 2012 was my first.  I was hesitant, too.  Several things: I was "new", share a room with strangers!! EEEK, do I want to spend a few days absorbed and surrounded by cancer....all those crazy thoughts. 

OMG - I can only say, it was such a positive experience I would not miss it for the world.  We drink (or not), we dance (or not), we shop (or not), we swim and lay by the pool (or not), we see shows (or not), we talk about and share our stories (or not)....what we do NOT do is sulk and feel sorry for ourselves.  WE HAVE FUN.  WE MAKE FRIENDS. WE CONNECT. WE LIVE!!!!

Someone, who will remain nameless, said to me that when she met me the first night at meet and greet, she thought I was going to be so quiet and conservative....then we went to the Zebra bar....it took me a few dances, but I let loose.  From then on, WOW, I just let loose and had fun.  What can I say, these ladies are great!!!

So, fredntan, I'll save a dance for you and I promise, you will not regret coming to Las Vegas with this wonderful group of survivors!!!

p.s. I will be between phase I and phase II of my DIEP!!! Woo hooo

All newbies are welcome it is such a great group.  I too was shy and a little nervous about going my first time.  This year will be my fourth time and I just love the companionship, dancing and meeting any newbies and renewing friendships.  You may not get a one on one with everybody the first year but you will definitely make some awesome new friends!!
