For you Teka!

Jazzy, that flower is beautiful. I think I have said it before ... you have a huge variety of plants/flowers in your yard.
-

CC- I am interested and glad to hear your Achilles is better today. That is certainly good news, and hope you are having a good day today. I hope your daughter is getting better one day at a time.
My asthma has been bothering me this week, and it is super windy out here today (hot summer wind is yucky) so I am staying in the cool indoors and working on packing for my trip to Aspen. Think I got a lot of that figured out today. Going to go swim in awhile to wrap up my day with some laps in the pool.
I got a sample of wood flooring to try in the house and moving it around different rooms to see if it works as a "whole" for the house. I plan to do my living room and master bedroom for Phase 1, and then do the spare bedrooms next year for Phase 2. My rooms have different colors so I need to find something that generally works with everything, which may be easier said than done. I sort of think this one will work, but not sure. My guess is I will be back and forth to the flooring center a few times before the final product is selected.

Dad loved A&W rootbeer in a frosted mug!
-
Teka- oh love the root beer memory! My dad loved root beer floats. We used to go to Dairy Queen a lot for those! Makes me want one!
-
I love rootbeer floats!

I am hanging in there. All the Fathers Day talk — I didn't have a dad. I had a father who was a military officer, who viewed us as small enlisted personnel whose job was to obey without question. I know he was a very damaged person, but we didn't understand that.
I am blessed, however, with a particularly amazing husband, who is a great dad to our four-footers, and like a big brother to my son, who is only 9 years younger than he.
My dad lived to be 95 miserable years old and died bitter and alone. I pray my husband lives as long, and that I'm still around for him.
-
Mags, blessed with a kind & caring husband. Tomorrow is his day!
-
Mags- not everyone gets the parents they deserve and it sounds like that was the case with your dad. I am sorry to hear about your experience with your father. Sometimes we meet people in life who teach us what we don't want to be.
You have been blessed with a kind and caring husband who is a good father figure to others. I hope he has a nice day tomorrow.
And I hope you are feeling better each day.
-
Onco I'm glad u'r phone visit was good with u'r DD and yes take care of that foot and glad its better.

Good morning all. I kind of feel relaxed like Jazzy's lion looks. There are three things I want to accomplish today. First one, a walk, is done. Next one, creating a new planting in one of my barrels, is next. The least fun one, cleaning a bathroom, is last. I think it was unwise to put the least fun one last! That was a sun decision ... not wanting to be in the sun.
I am thinking of you all ... I am grateful for you all.
-
Sally- you have a nice day planned. Post a picture of your new plantings if you can later today. As you know, we love all things garden here!

Teka- ooh la la! That is beautiful! I could sink right into that pool right now!
-
Looks like zero bugs!
-
One of my favorite pics, I took this on a Caribbean cruise. It was August and the sea was like glass.
I have another cruise waiting at the end of my treatment journey, whenever that should be. Already paid for.
-
Such lovely shades of blue!
-
Mags- so beautiful. I am glad you have a cruise to look forward to down the line, really important.
I am going to disappear now for the next week as I head into one day of work tomorrow and my final day of preparations before I head north to the jazz festival Tuesday through Sunday. I hope everyone here has a good week, continued recovery from your surgeries, easy treatments, and that you can enjoy the simple pleasures of summer time.
I will check in when I am back and settled, sometime after the 22nd! I will miss you!
-
Jazzy,
-
