blondie,
Sorry, 3 different miseries to suffer through, please rest & heal while being pain free!
-
Hi hermits- home from the trip. Great concert last night with Steve Winwood. Any of your children of the 60s and 70s remember the group Traffic? Part of his earlier music, and I forgot all together he was in that group. I LOVED Traffic and remember listening to my brothers Traffic LPs when I was a kid/teenager. Loved that music! Brought back some great memories of times gone by, and a brother I still miss. It was a good jazz festival.
Got home tonight and tired from late nights out and drive home. Good to be tired from some fun though, right? I am working on watering, laundry and getting ready to go to bed early. Busy day ahead tomorrow with back to work and some other things to do.
Blondie- I am sorry to hear the chemo has been working against you with all the SEs. I hope you rest well from your time in the hospital and feel better soon. Thinking of you tonight.
-
Jazzy,
-
Teka- thanks for the welcome back! Moving a bit slow this morning, but getting my day going. Must head in for work (six more days until I am done with this contract, whoot whoot!)
Wishing everyone here a good week.

*Hermits*
Yesterday, 1st time a tick attached to my skin.
Seeing PCP this
afternoon to see if started on an antibiotic or wait for symptoms of
possible *Lyme Disease*.I doubt if PCP will give a prescription for antibiotic. But, what do I know!
-
Teka- ugh, I hate ticks. Glad you are being proactive just in case. Lyme Disease is a nasty thing.
-
I now have an excuse not to start back taping & painting until tomorrow!
-
Good morning all ...
Teka ... ick and glad you are being careful ... keep us posted on what your doc says.
Jazzy, happy to hear you are home safely.
Sandy, sorry to hear about your 8 days in the hospital but glad you are home now. Do you have the help you need at home?
Ducky, will the whole family be at the shore for the 4th?
I am trying out a shrimp salad recipe today ... well, if I get myself out of this chair to defrost the shrimp ... better get ...
-
Sally.........not sure who will be there......my great grandaughter was born last July 4th, so that will be her 1st birthday...........it is a friday, but not sure if anyone will venture down after the party............well 1 daughter might, but she will not be coming back......she is staying to vacation till the 14th.........would love to stay with her, but I give them their time to be a family..............so if she is the only one who goes then I either drive myself (as a way to get home).......or don't go at all.............another daughter says "I don't know what I'm doing"...........so who knows.
-
Ducky, how wonderful that your kids have a place near the ocean to vacation. When I was of elementary school age, we vacationed several times at Atlantic city ... maybe only once but the memories are so important that it seems like more. First birthdays are sooo special ... have fun.
-
Sally - good decision - Jazzy - jealous of your brill time away but glad you had it
Me - feeling guilty as everything on top of me today and working my way though a whole botle of red wine after eating very little................so fed up with working so hard at everything and health anti cancer eating is boring sometimes.................
-
No antibiotic because tick wasn't engorged!
Sally, shrimp salad ready?
-
Lily ... sounds like a down day for you ... hope tomorrow is better.
Teka ... did you have to take the tick with you to the doc ... interesting but good, I guess, that it wasn't engorged? I had the shrimp salad for lunch ... it was okay ... I plan to adjust the dressing next time ... more Heinz Cocktail Sauce/less mayo.
-
No, tick was torn apart and had to use a needle to remove complete head. Hubby bought a *tick twister* for removal of any future ticks.

I survived going back to work today but saw this today, and decided I would rather be a cat!

-
Just poppin in ---Oh Teka I don't like to hear about the tick thing. See summers for me are to buggy, I don't like that at all. Ick
Jazzy U'r home safe and already back to work? Oh I would need lot of time to rest.
Blondie I am so sorry u are having so many problems please keep us posted on how u'r doing.
Lily sorry for u'r down time I hope it gets better for you.
I'm still recouping from the weekend party stuff- which BTW was wonderful--so many people and so much fun.
Hope everyone will have a restful nite's sleep.
-
Cami ... happy to hear the week end party was fun ... even being tired from fun is fun, isn't it?
-
-
Cami- yes, back to work today because of timing with the contract ending. My ars was dragging today, but got a bunch done. I worked a bit later, then went to Lowes for a new ladder and a few other home supplies, came home to deal with replacing a chirping smoke alarm that greeted me upon my return late yesterday, now doing laundry. Dang, I am tired! I am done a week from today on the contract so I am at the end. People were just at me complaining all day. I wanted to scream.
Glad you had a fun partying this weekend. You party animal.
Lily- I hate having to ration the wine these days. I think we have to let go every once and awhile. I hope you are continuing to heal well from the recent surgery? How are the dogs doing? Has that hostile neighbor stopped bothering you?
Mags and Basia- hope you are doing okay with your recovery and continued treatment.
Ducky- sounds like some fun July 4th family things coming up for you.
Teka-sounds like you were lucky it did not take hold. I have found them stuck in my thigh or scalp in days gone by. Some were engorged and fortunately, nothing bad happened from what I remember. Less common here in NM, more where I just came from in CO and they carry Rocky Mountain spotted fever there. Now you have no excuse not to paint tomorrow!
Blondie- thinking of you and wishing I were closer to come help you. Let us know how you are doing. We care very much for you here.
Sally- l love shrimp this time of the year. Is your salad available on line anywhere to share with us?
Onco- I hope that achilles is doing better.

Good morning hermits. Getting my day going and downloaded some photos from my Nikon to share here, there, and everywhere. Will start with sharing this photo of a chippy taken up in the mountains near where we stayed. We saw so much wildlife from deer of all ages (adults, young bucks, a fawn), to bald eagles, a fox, and a beaver.
-
Took lots of photos of wildflowers too. These yellow wildflowers were everywhere in the high meadows around the house where we were staying. A shot of them below a grove of aspens along with a close up.
-
-
Jazzy, the chipmunk is so cute. The depth of color in the wildflower closeup reminded me that my cell phone camera is not great just handy. The shrimp salad turned out to be only so-so ... not something to pass on. i hope your last week with the current contract goes quickly.
-
Sally- I always take photos too with my phone and am surprised how good they come out, but you are right that having a good telefoto really helps you to see the details. The chipmunk was the only one who would pose for me, all the others took a look at me and split!

I just read Joan Lunden was diagnosed with an aggressive kind of breast cancer. I know she is mother to two young sets of twins she had surrogated with her second husband. I grew up watching her on GMA, and think she is a strong woman. Hoping as I do for all women everywhere with bc, that she comes through this and lives a long life to see all her children grow up.
-
Very sad..........God help her......
