Ducky, I just want to hug Stella ... she looks like quite a sweetie.
Jazzy, I am happy to report that my colonoscopy discovered no polyps ... very surprising because my last two both had polyps. My gastro doc is a real sweetie; he and his whole staff handled me with care and kindness. I am going to write them thank you notes. The two day prep went much smoother than I expected.
Mags, hope your new day is a good one.
-

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry==I've missed so much but I just caught up now.
I always love the pics u guys put up--If they are not beautiful, they're funny to me. So thanks for that.
Basia I hope u can relax somehow and u can shut u'r brain down, I have the opposite problem, mine just goes slowly.
Mags I hope to u'r port is feeling better and once u get used to it u'll love it--I still have mine, but I'm sorry u'r so uncomfortable and in pain, I hope u take something always for it.
And in general how can some people be so ignorant as to not ask how u r doing? I mean it doesn't take the superior brain of a genius to put those words together and tilt u'r head to the right side (like u care) and then when someone is answering tilt u'r head to the left side. I mean it take just a little bit for prople to be kind when u know they really might not care but at least they show something.
Jazzy I'm so glad u'r going to be with better people u deserve to be, I've admired u for a long time and u'r work ethis (I never had any) and people should always appreciate u, u are a winner in so many ways.
I saw one Dr. this week after some tests and of course I'm low on a few things, she thinks are important so more meds. Idon't understand why when she asks me questions and I answer her she puts her head down and either shakes it or laughs. I even asked her about that and she said if she gave away lollipops she would give me one. Even thos I really don't pay attention to her much and she knows it. She might have been giving me a compliment when I told her I was working now answering phones for a business and she did say wow someone trusts u with their business, I wasn't sure actually. After I get done with my peectomy soon she wants to talk to my Onc about some cancer tests she concerned about, I told her sstay away from my onc. We'll see. And one of the times I had my first colonoscopy (I was awake) I didn't see any polyps and I said see that's why people call me a perfect a$$hole and u could see the camera moving up and down and my Dr. told the nurses I told u she's crazy. So we all have different relationships with our Drs. and as long as it's good that's what counts.
I wish everyone peaceful sleep and good feelings.

I'll be almost 100 or under the sod.

I went out to water tonight and move the car in the garage. When I looked out on the driveway, I saw a baby bird. It must have been hiding under the car, looks like a fledgling finch. I am lucky I did not run it over moving the car into the garage. It could flap away on the ground and was chirping, but cannot fly.
I got a towel and moved it over into a bush for protection. I know you are supposed to put them in a safe place and let the parents help them.
I hope the little bird makes it. I wish I could do more.....
-
I used to spend many hours keeping fledglings out of the reach of outdoor cats.
No more, Teka is an indoor cat.
-
Sally, excellent results!
Lily, hope able to rest at night.
camillegal, yes, keep Her away from MO.
-
Cami- thanks for the kind words about me and also my work. I will be working from home today and Monday and then gone on my Aspen adventure until I go back there on the 23rd. I am very proud of you to for all the work you are doing with the phones and know it is good for you on so many levels. Despite work being hard sometimes, it gives my life some structure and focus it would not have otherwise (not to mention the income for everything I must do!)
It sounds like you have a good relationship with your doc. Someone you can share some humor with both ways. I am sorry you have to take more meds, and keep us posted on any other tests you may have if you want to talk about them here.

*Friday*
-
Good morning hermits- slept so well last night and woke up feeling great this morning. I am going to do some work this morning and then going to a massage late morning. Good way to start my Friday the 13th.
Went out this morning to check on my little bird friend in the bush where I left it, but he/she is gone. I hope the parents were able to help.
Hope everyone has a good day!
-
Good Morning all
Jazzy I hope u'r birdy made it, but I understand where Teka's coming from that part of nature.
Have a good massage and I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning, hermits. Glad to see Cami. You've been missed. Someone was so worried they were going to send in a pm to root you out.
Jazzy, hope your birdlet survives. Reminded me I need to get someone to help me fill my umpteen feeders. Like they'll starve.
Didn't sleep much last night, night sweats so bad I had to strip down, even with fan blowing right on my face.
I know I'll get used to the port, but every time I move my arm I feel that sucker. My body doesn't like the foreign object.
And my nonexistent boobs hurt.
Hot mess today.
This is Rose. She is not a cuddler. But she's taken to hanging out on the back of the pit group where my recliner is. When she's feeling magnanimous, she lets me rub her tummy.
She has the cutest heart on her tummy.
-
Mags- I am sorry you did not sleep well and sorry you have pain and discomfort today. Your sweet little Rose is your comfort right now. I love the heart shaped spot on her tummy! She loves you.....
Also, I will be 89 not 109 with the next full moon on Friday the 13th. I am only 54! LOL!

I know that song! Oldie, but a goodie!

And it's fathers day weekend too. For some here, you may still have your dads, or may be celebrating Fathers Day via your husbands, sons, or other men in your family. Or perhaps thinking of a father that is no longer with you as I am today.
I was pretty close to my dad, more so as I matured into adulthood. He taught me many good practical things in life, especially around working and about cars. I have often recall his wisdom during troubling times with my work and with my cars! When I was in college in the area where I grew up, he worked nearby and we would sometimes meet for lunch. How special those lunch dates were to me!
I would love to hear other stories about the dads here from the hermits......

Busy day, carefully painting the walls above the kitchen cabinets!

Good Morning hermmies.
Oh Onco I know what u mean after living 96 yrs we should have written a book, we did however tape so many conversation my sister and I would have on our Saturday afternoons lunch and visits--Of course I lived upstairs so we had coffee every morning before I went to work (I worked acroos the street) and when it was nice he'd take a walk with me to work and stop in and say Hi to everyone. He was one of the funniest people I ever knew but he didn't know it ever. That's why we taped him. And my friends loved him and so did the people I worked with. When he went blind he never complained and just stayed home more but was still so wonderful and since I was his _baby" he wa so generous with me and my kids cuz we were alone most of the time, when I was lone with my 2 little ones I had to live with them and my dad thought OK u live in the house and we'll move so the kids will have a yard and live like they should and they moved to a retirement community and loved it and my dad put up a swing set for my kids so they would feel +normal+ and he'd come every Tuesday and do the lawn and anything else that needed to be fixed. And I didn't have to pay anything--Boy was I spoiled, then they sold the house and I did get an apartment and my dad insisted on paying for the rent so I could work but not take time away from my kids, cuz they were still young,Then as they got older I got two jobs to pay everything myself but I could still count on them always. Well I went on and on but I miss my dad terribly, of course my mom too but I was very close to my dad, my sister more with my mom. My brothers were pretty much equal. Oh one more thing for now--my mom (even before he was blind) always put his clothes out for him cuz I like him would wear sweats and tee anywhere so she wanted him to look nice and one time he came out of the bedroom and saying this vest doesn't fit at all (now he could see then) and he's saying it's going up my stomach and when he came out it was white with flowers all over it--it was my mom's vest--that's what I mean when I say he never knew he was funny.OK done.
I'm having my coffe right now and my phones already started for the day. so we'll see what this day brings.
I hope everyone has a beautiful day.
-
Cami- wow, what wonderful memories of your dad. He really cared about you, and can see you had a special bond. He sounded like he had a wonderful sense of humor too! Now we know where you get your witty personality from!
I miss my dad alot too, and the the most when I am dealing with car problems or working on anything with the house. I was out this morning at a flooring showroom starting my review of the hardwood flooring options as I am going to replace the crapped out carpeting in the living room and bedrooms. I was thinking how much I would have loved to have him along with me for his perspective on what flooring to select, things to consider, etc.
Teka- I hope the painting comes along well today! Hope you get to relax with your feet up at the end of the day with a nice cool beverage too!
I hope Basia, Mags, Lily, Blondie, Sally, Ducky, and others here are doing okay today too.
-
Hi Jazzy..........hanging in there......hugs
-
Hi Ducky- Actually doing well today. I am used to missing family. My dad has been gone for a long time.
