Hi,
Yesterday, I cut & froze enough rhubarb for a strawberry rhubarb pie in 2015.
Sally, I've now started the kitchen clean-up & wall painting project.
Onco, self-employed can be a downer, but Daughter blessed with caring Parents.

Basia & Mags,
OK!!

Hermits, had my port surgery at 11 this morning. 45 minutes in surgery, 1 hour in recovery, and 2-1/2 hours waiting for the xrays to surface so they knew I didn't have a punctured lung or anything. This little thing has kicked my butt. I flew thru the BMX, but this little thing, holy cow it hurts! Add to that, the arthritis in that shoulder is flaring up big time. I can't even move that arm. And of course the other side is where they removed nodes and muscle tissue, so that side isn't doing great either.
And, I keep having seepage from the original incision on the right side. I wear a tank top or camisole under a shirt, and every day I have spots of not exactly bloody but serum colored fluid on them. I meant to ask the surgeon but only saw her for a few seconds. Any ideas?
-
Mags,
Feet up in the recliner, rest & mend. *Hugs*
-
Mags, so glad the port is in and it wasn't too bad. you will feel better in a couple of days.
First AC treatment today and I feel like I was hit by a bus! I think its because I didn't eat enough before treatment and then after I had no appetite. The last time around I ate lots of carbs, mostly bagel w cream cheese before treatment and I tolerated it well This time I didn't, thinking that may be part of the problem, doing it on an empty stomach and not having any bread substance to absorb the acid and stuff.
Made it to the girls dance recital, but I only stayed for their portions, had to leave right after, but the girls and my husband are still there, they are having a great time. glad I didn't make them leave with me, no reason for them to miss out on stuff.
-
Basia,Family must be pleased that You were able to enjoy the dance recital.I forced myself to eat something before, during, and after each chemo treatment.
-
Mags- so sorry to hear the day with the port insertion and all the rest was hard. You need some good rest and painkillers.
Basia- sorry about the AC kicking your butt. Please rest well too.
Hoping everyone else here got through their Monday. I discovered today one of my cacti has grown a pad in a heart shape. I just found it tonight with a friend who was visiting and looking at the gardens with me. I will post a photo tomorrow, I never cease to be amazed by the surprises from my garden!
-
I'm actually back to sleeping in my own bed now. Tried it the night before our trip, and of course on our trip I was in regular beds. The trick for me is to wedge a pillow tight in on each side, so I'm not free to roll over. I'm still not sleeping all the way through the night, but I am sleeping.
Heart scan tomorrow. Then I have the rest of June off.
-
Mags- yes, sleeping with the pillows on all sides helps you to rest without rolling over and hurting yourself. I did it too. Of course, the body wants to move when we are sleeping so you don't sleep was well as you normally do. I found just sleeping a lot vs. for long periods got me through.

From one of the local weather stations. The essence of where I live- the earth and the sky. Have a good day peeps!

Lovely photo!!
I love to listen to the Summer birds singing in the morning.
-
Jazzy, wow ... beautiful picture.
Teka ... I love to wake up to chirping birds and they lull me during my morning walk.
-
Mags and Basia and Oncowarrior, how are you doing?
-
My wild lupine in full bloom!
-
Hi Ladies, Sorry I've been MIA, just trying to keep busy. First treatment was Monday and I am feeling a bit yucky. Not quite queazy but upset stomach, I kind of want to sleep but my brain won't shut off.
Hope everyone is well
-
Heart scan was easy peasy but just being out and about flared up the pain from the port placement and by bedtime I was in tears. Finally slept, weird dreams, but feeling better today and have taken pain meds so just feeling stupid and brainless. And I have the iron bra effect going on. Mags is not a happy camper today.
So just hanging out in the recliner with the laptop and pouting.
How's your day?
-
Teka, beautiful lupine ... I like the garden flag touch. You are giving me ideas.
Basia, sorry you are having trouble getting your brain to shut off. I often have that trouble too. Lately, I have been using a relaxation guided cd to guide me into sleep/rest.
Mags, glad your test is over but sorry about the pain. I am in my recliner today too as I allow the colonoscopy anesthetics to work their way out of my system. My system loves to hold onto drugs.

Sally, I've gone through so many outdoor do dads over the years. The flags fade from the sun, but I'm looking forward to choosing new flags for next Summer .
Basia, I lied awake until early morning while on chemo.
Mags & Sally, I just woke up from a recliner nap.

Could ot resist......Stella taking a spin around the block.....

Hi hermits- back from the salon and have some new bangs for the summer.
Basia- my mind went a million miles and hour in the beginning. My doctor gave me lorazapem as Onco suggests, and it helped a lot. Ask for help with the anxiety thoughts, as they just go with all this. You need to be able to get rest as you go through treatment.
Mags- I am sorry about the pain. I am sorry about the tears but they sometimes help to release so much for us. You have been doing well and in good spirits for the most part. It is okay to have a bad day (or a couple of them actually). This stuff is hard and some days will be worse than others. Wishing you a better day tomorrow (Basia too....)
Sally- any findings from the colonoscopy you want to share? I hope everything went well and glad you are resting to get the anesthesia out.
Onco- I hope you are getting some rest.
Teka- love the flowers and the flag!
Ducky- is Stella an english bulldog? She is adorable.
Lily- how are you feeling this week?
Cami, Blondie, and all our other friends here, hope you are doing well this week!
-
-
Jazzy........yes she is an English Bulldog...............this is the dog my daughter and son-in-law were never going to buy again...................their Boxer died over 1 year ago.........if I heard....."no more dogs" once I heard it 100 times...........................but along came Stella................she is a sweetheart, and very pretty..........sometimes they can be quite ugly, but she is not one of those.....thank heavens........she is very pretty......................she is 40lbs, but only around 6 months old.........they are saying around 50 lbs. max....
She is a sweetheart...........
-
Ducky- Stella is a pretty dog. Beautiful face. You are right that sometimes they are not very cute. My uncle had one who had that lower jaw overbite. I can tell she has a special place in your heart.
Wishing everyone a better day today, especially our friends here going through treatment.

*mother fox and kit*
Daily, I enjoy watching a fox pounce on mice in the cow pasture!
-
Teka- I used to see them all around the old farmhouse I lived in back in CT. Love foxes!
