Mag- your oncologist is right on. The chemo will be your friend, a strong friend at that. I did not have chemo either (surgery, radiation and the hormone therapy only) but plenty of the gals on this site have gone through it and know they will have wisdom to share. I will help you with whatever I can offer from the other parts of treatment.
Sally- your organization project sounds really good to me. I am still struggling to get caught up with all the things around home. I will have more time to work on it when I am on my break between contracts soon. I have a plethora of photos of my own plus those we took from my mothers house years ago that remain stored in a desk. Any things you find to help organize hard copy pics is welcomed here!
Teka- here is a photo of the blooming scottish broom, with the gazing ball behind it, that I took for you today. I have all kinds of fun do dads in my garden too!
-
Pretty shade of yellow!
I don't have a gazing ball, but enjoy looking at the neighbors.
I've garden flags like the following------------
-
Teka- nice flags. I love flags but with the strong sun here, they fade. I bet yours are so pretty!
Basia- how are you doing with your recovery?
Cami- where the heck are you?
Blondie- how are you feeling?
Good night!
-
I also noticed that the sun is fading the garden flags.
We've such a short Summer & Fall.
I haven't been replacing worn out do dads.
Maybe next Summer!
-
Hi hermits- better day today. Got my car back from having service and she is running nicely. I think I should be good for awhile there.
Every once and awhile I go to Whole Foods to shop (pretty expensive as some of you may know) but got some tasty treats today after picking up the car. Found one of those splurge items I really love and are hard to find anywhere "dried strawberries."
I have a meeting tomorrow on the new work with the company here in town that I hope to be working for next. Have some general review of the contract to do tonight before we meet. I don't sign anything until the work is awarded, but looking for any "gotcha's."
It is hot here, in the mid 90s. Not unusual for this time of the year here in the southwest, but I hate going from the cooler/almost wintry spring right into the heat.
How is everyone doing here tonight?
-
I have never heard of or seen dried strawberries but think I would like them.
-
Sally- I had them out at a spa in California one time and was immediately hooked! Whole Foods is the only place I ever have seen them for sale. I eat lots of fresh strawberries, but the dried ones are great when you are traveling. Got a road trip coming up soon......
I found a recipe to do it in your oven. I might try this, lots of strawberries in the store right now!

Jazzy, I will visit Whole Foods when I go to Barnes and Noble next ... they are close.

Sally.......have no idea why I lose threads, but it happens........and with my dead brain cells it takes me a while to think and say "Hey my favorites list looks kind of short, or gee I haven't see anything from "so in so" in a while..........then I check, and say...........Ok doofus, you lost them........

-
Lily- glad you are through surgery. Disappointing about the friend remembering. Maybe he/she will surface soon and give you some support as you are recovering.
Crazy busy with current work and new proposal for future work. More soon!

Hi Piper- congrats on the 2 year anniversary and clear films. Whoot whoot!
Fried green tomatoes for dinner from Whole Foods. Yum.....
-
Piper,
-
Fried green tomatoes are delicious!
-
Saw the surgeon today, she aspirated some fluid from my lumps, but not much. The rest will supposedly resolve itself. She gave her blessing to our little road trip, wants to hear all about it Monday when she installs my port. DH has relented and we can leave tomorrow so we don't have to drive the whole 8 hours there in one day.
I'll be scarce the next few. See ya on the flip flop.
-
Mag- glad you had a good visit to the doctor and she blessed your trip. Take it easy and safe travels!
-
Mags,
Have a fun time with online folks!
-
Running to work. Proposal work has been way more than expected, but think we may be done. We will see.
Lily- how are you feeling post surgery?
Basia- how are you doing as well post surgery?
Ducky- I want in that pool, it is super hot here.
Teka, Blondie, Sally, Piper, and all the rest, wishing you a good day. Where the heck is Cami?
-
Jazzy.........would love to have you...............today it is cool, the pool temperature has gone up to 76........have not been in.......have to watch the damn sun because of the medicine I'm on...........and in 15 minutes you can "cook"....................already had 2 cancer spots removed.................but the again for a 79 year old broad that isn't too bad............I spent my whole life in the sun...............my sun screen was Baby Oil and Iodine.............was I nuts or what................no SPF back then.............just Coppertone............but could not afford it.........LOL.
