I screenshot BEFORE sending because I don't trust the site to not eat the message! I don't see any drafts saved, but I also can't find where any of my sent messages are stored.
How about you quit asking members to jump through hoops to prove we're having the issues we complain about? It's kind of offensive. I'm in a bad mood because we missed our chances to say goodbye to Shetland Pony, or at least talk to her over the last FOUR AND A HALF MONTHS, since she couldn't get onto this site. I'm not feeling very polite about BCO right now.
-
On the topic of the Private Message “Sent” folder, I have been unable to access mine since the new formatting in March. The link has remained grayed out. I don’t send a lot of PMs, but still, this is a link that should work but doesn’t. No matter what I tried to access it.
Here’s what it looks like:
-
It's grayed out for me, but clicking on it leads me to my sent messages.
Like the rest of the forum, this part used to be straightforward before March upheaval.
-
Ok, thanks, Serenity. I tried clicking on it and it worked even tho it’s grayed out. Honestly, I thought I’d tried that before.
-
Divine - You probably did, and then it was fixed. It shouldn’t be grayed out. That’s the universal disabled look.
-
The mods sent me a pm that diagnosis & treatment was fixed & to try again to correct. Wrong! You can't even tell what you are editing. Questions do not make sense with what is displayed or already input. Anyone know where to just put the comment in signature line now? Is it "biography"? I sure don't want to enter much at this point as it seem like I"m not in control of my own info to delete or make private.
I know the mods are the face to receive our frutstration, not the originators. But I'm still looking for that site where we can all retreat for support that we used to have here. The excuses are out living us....RIP Shetland Pony.

Parking this here because it's the newest announcement but, as usual, with no date. I want it saved with the date it appeared so we have a record of how long any promises remain, like this site, broken.
-
past few WEEKS???????
..
OH COME ON
-
Folks, that announcement has been up since the launch. We will update the announcement once we have more information we can share about the new platform.
Thank you.
-
Not since the launch, but after when the launch broke it so badly that BCO took the site down for days. Please don’t try to rewrite history. Do let us know about any platform changes. As you know in the cancer forum, we have all the time in the world. 😒nopink - Use the Signature field in Settings.
-
Mods: I keep reading posts in many threads to make the access easier. Why after we log in can't we just get the page copied below w/o going through 4 or 5 extra steps. That would be sooooooo user friendly. Or choose ONE link to get to the discussion forum and see the menu below?
Agree with Serenity!!! Some years ago when the platform changed the 'treatment info' to be excessive and lengthy, I moved my diagnosis & treatment to the signature line. It works great and doesn't take up an entire page. if I want to know more, I can always ask whoever in whatever thread I'm reading. Or...duh... I can look at the poster's profile or send them a PM
-
Oh - of course the menu I carefully copied doesn't show up. Trying again.
Nope - will NOT let me insert a word file. Guess I'll try to convert it to a .pdf?
NOPE =- will not let me insert a .pdf file
Obviously copy & paste didn't work but trying that again just in case. It's a menu of 10 line items that should be a snap
-
Hey Mods - how do I copy a list that I made with a snipping tool? Saved as both as a word doc file and as a .pdf file. But the stupid image insert will not allow either of those files. I'm not a computer guru - so HELP since I tried four times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Minus - You can’t insert document files like Word or PDF files. They must be image files like JPG or PNG. I usually take screenshots that are saved as image files.
I agree that I switched to using the Signature field long before the site changes because it takes fewer lines to display my info. I did have my treatment details filled out but private until I saw they were changed after the launch. I deleted them right after I found I couldn’t correct them.
-
Oh well - just another thing that maybe the MODS can look at improving. Posting poems or other written documents might be really lovely.
-
So, back in APRIL, I reported that my picture or avatar as they call it, was distorted in some of the areas and fine in this one. I did get a message from the mods asking for examples and I sent screenshots. It was never fixed. Now it is still fine here, but gone in other areas.
-
A hastily created graphic here since it’s August 1st and I along with many others are wondering if the tech team and other powers that be on this forum have yet decided on a new platform selection and/or if they’ve arrived at a solution for the migrating of 20+ years of discussion data. An update with any new developments since the middle of last month and any additional information would be appreciated if it’s available.
-
I miss seeing where people are from. It feels more personal. Especially if they are close.
-
jrnj, oh yeah, I totally missed that our locations are gone!
Again, i wish that there was a "like" button for posts. I would have like yours!
-
jrnj and zogo,
We are still seeing locations for some members. Can you confirm you’ve elected in your profile to have your location shown publicly?
—The Mod
-
DivineMrsM, we are finalizing decisions on our end and hope to have an update very soon!
—The Mods
-
Mods,
My location shows when it shouldn't. My location field is empty. You were trying a fix on the location setting some time ago. You said you were close. It failed. Did your tech team stop trying?
-
That location glitch is still being worked on. Thanks
-
DivineMrsM and everyone- hopefully early next week!! Reviewing a contract. Stay tuned.
-
Mods - 90% of the locations have been erased. People who have been on here for years have had their locations erased. I agree - it's REALLY frustrating. If you saw where the poster lives, you could discuss all sort of relevant things.
-
We are looking into the location issue. Thank you
-
Mods,
Still waiting for whether there is a fix for my SMALL writing on the blogs. It suddenly changed yesterday and I don't know why, bur it is quite difficult to live with. Hoping for your help.
-
Illinoislady, sending you a PM.
-
Receiving PMs would be apparent in a normally functioning site. There would be no need to announce it in a thread.
I am feeling angry again over the mess created by BCO given how many members have been unable to easily access their support team of many years in their last days. What a horrible experience for them and for their supporters.
-
Wrenn, I echo what you said. I'm angry about all the conversations we haven't been able to have with people we've become friends with here in the last several months. It's just cruel that the site issues haven't been fixed yet, and it's made it so difficult to reliably communicate with friends we're about to lose.
