I just tried to update my profile information, and I could not save my changes. This is a MAJOR glitch, if we don't have control over the information we choose to share or display or not.
-
For those of you having difficulty with your profile info... I'm on a laptop using Windows 10 and Firefox. When I go into my profile, make changes, then press "save", I log off/on the forum then the changes show up. I was able to delete all my diagnosis/treatment info about an hour ago, but I had to LOG OFF and BACK ON for the changes to appear.
-
lw,
That’s great but doesn’t work at all for me when using an iPad. This is frustrating because all features worked just fine on my iPad prior to the platform change. I am happy for all the work around suggestions but we shouldn’t have to figure out work around for basic site functions.
-
Testing to see if my information shows,
Yep. It does. In my diagnosis settings it asks for a diagnosis so assumes my diagnosis is not on profile but here it is.
What a clown show this site is.
-
LW422, Doesn't work like this with Safari on an iMac. Thanks, anyway.
Look at the junk signature. -
exbrnxgrl--sorry it doesn't work on your iPad. I assume that's the app? I agree, we shouldn't have to jump through these ridiculous hoops to get this stuff to work, but I guess that's our "new normal."
Hey TT! Sorry it didn't work with Safari. Do you have access to a Windows device to try a different browser? What a PITA this all is.
-
It just worked on my ipad and Macbk (chrome). I tried logging out and in a few times and finally worked. Maybe techs are reading posts and get around to deleting our info randomly.
-
They might be running batch changes for user-directed updates, so that the change doesn't take effect immediately but at the scheduled batch run. (Just thinking out loud here.) So we don't see the updates until the scheduled batch runs. Does that make sense?
-
Still cannot fix my profile. I cannot DELETE. Only ADD. I emailed Mods weeks ago with no success. Thinking it will never get fixed. Sigh...
-
I first joined to get information, which was VERY helpful to me. So I am all in favor of an up-to-date and through information section on BCO. However, I don't want it to be at the expense of the Discussion Forums where I mostly hang out now, and I don't want ANY entity to have my medical history in detail.
-
lw,
There is no bco app that I'm aware of so I just access it through my browser. Worked wonderfully before format changes, not so much after so I don't consider the platform change an upgrade.
I have no clue what a batch run is so no, it doesn't make sense to me .

Are you there, Mods? It's me, SerenitySTAT.
Has the tech team stopped working on the profile UI/display? A functioning UI is required for your data collection. If it doesn't work for everyone, then you're stuck with bad data. I've done forecasting. Bad data is worse than no data.
The profile display is useful for forum users, but it's the way to check that the UI works. We can see it doesn't for treatment details and location. Some people have treatment details display, but the UI doesn't show them. My location shows even though the location field is empty in my profile UI.
The signature field in the profile UI does work. This is what I use to display my info. I edited it yesterday. The change was immediate, but it did require clearing the browser cache. For those who can't update their treatment details, the signature field works. It's in Settings.
Mods, please have your tech team delete details for those members who ask. It isn't hard to do. Save the script for a "clear all" button that should be in the profile UI.
-
Does that bold look more bold, or is it just me?
-
bold not bold
* 'bold' looks very dark before I submit & when in the edit mode. To me it looks pretty much like the 'not bold' once submitted.
-
It is darker in Preview, but it seemed a little darker than before. Only way to know is for the tech team to put out a release note. 🙄
-
Test.
-
Yes, it was a delayed refresh issue. My updated (i.e. "altered to protect my privacy") info is now showing up. As a former database administrator, it shouldn't take anywhere near that long to migrate simple changes like that.
Unless there are multiple layers of triggered cascade effects for data manipulation going on as well. But that's just being paranoid.
.... Right?
-
Not paranoid. They are collecting data to determine which articles to recommend. There may be scheduled processes to update recommendations in case of new articles, but a profile update likely triggers recommendation updates. I'm speculating here because I have always blocked their recommendations.
ETA- But the profile fields must be updated first. The changes to the recommended articles should have no effect on when the changes appear in our profile display.
-
Yes, my recommendations are off. And I totally agree that for simple ethical reasons, changing our profile info should take priority over tweaking their article feed.
-
New issue. The BOLD TEXT function doesn't work after a comment is submitted. In my comment above "ethical reasons" is supposed to be in bold. It showed as bold when I wrote the comment, and when I went back to edit it, but it barely makes a difference after posting.
-
You have to put things you want to emphasize in ALL CAPS, since that actually works. Sigh.
-
Like anything else lately, it seems you need to YELL to make a point.
(It would be funny if it weren't so true.)
-
On my laptop display, the bolded text is very slightly darker than the normal text. You have to really look hard to see the "bold."
-
I just had an email notification that I received a private message, so I went through that long convoluted log-in mess, and couldn't find private messages anywhere! It took me several tries poking around various parts of this damn site to find it. Good lord, what a stupid, stupid set-up! Why wouldn't that show up when the process keeps jerking me over to my own page with the nagging request to finish filling in information you're not going to get, instead of having to play hide and seek on the community section? Why is everything getting MORE effed up?
-
And we (they) keep bumping and posting their "articles".
NOT INTERESTED!

Alice - Do you use a bookmark to navigate to the site? After logging in click the bookmark again. Navigation should be easier.
Mods - It’s been 2 weeks since you responded to this thread. Are you done trying to help us?
-
I too have been wondering why the Mods are no longer posting on this thread. What's up???
-
serenitystat, I haven't tried a bookmark. I just open it on my phone from the icon, from when I first saved the site.
No comment on the lack of response from Mods. Not in words.
-
Hi everyone, we are definitely still reading through and receiving all of your feedback, and addressing all noted and newly reported glitches. As always, we thank you for your insight and patience, and we will continue to post updates on glitch fixes, deployments, and site/platform updates and improvements when we have them.
The Mods

Alice - What happens if you click the icon again?
Mods - It’s been almost 4 months. Your tech team should have fixed the profile issues long ago. I could have learned Ruby on Rails by now. Get a new tech team.
