It's been quiet here........so much sadness.
I remember Sas talking about Blondie's ladybug tattoos and that each had a special meaning to her. Blondie was special to so many on the BCO boards. My heart goes out to all whose lives she touched. May her soul be at peace, knowing she was loved, resting forever free of pain and sorrows.
Ladybug . . . a good luck symbol.
It's believed she first came to earth by lightening sent by the Goddess of Love and Beauty. When she swoops in, it's to remind us that life is short, and not let worries cloud a single day.

Morning LittlePaws... How is Annie doing?

Welcome to our thread Judy! With so many ladies here on various time zones around the world, this thread goes non stop 24 by 7. We hope you like it here.
Shep- I love that you shared about the ladybugs and had remember when she was getting her last tatoo done. What lovely symbolism and great words to live. We are all very sad here this weekend, I think. She was on my mind all day yesterday.

From my Brother's FB page...
Hi Judy.... WELCOME!
-
Chevy- agreed. Someone once said, can't we all just get along?
Calling all shoe lovers. I found them today, and here they are with my new pedi.
-
Chevy, how poignant and true. Thank you for sharing that.
Welcome Judy! Great bunch of ladies here. Full of information and mischief.
Shepkitty, lady bugs are the only bugs I like landing on me. When I was much, much younger my dad told me that they brought good luck to whomever they landed on.
Has anyone heard from Mags? Did I miss something while I've been lurking?
Whencie, how are you doing? Hope your recovery is going well.
JuneBug, hope all is going well for you since you've gotten home.
Lover, you been behaving yourself? Oh silly me, I know you are definitely being mischievous.
Patty, glad you have stopped in. I worry when I don't see you.
((((HUGS)))) MammaRay.
Smarrty, Susan - baby pictures please!
Edited to add: Yea! Jazzy
-
Hah! Jazzy! Those new sandles would match Spookies CAR! Love your pedicure!
Hey Kath! So hot here.... Up to 110 on our back patio awhile ago!
-
Wow Chevy, we only got up to 91 and the humidity wasn't too bad. Very unusual for this time of year.
-
Chevy how true.
Judy welcome, nice to see you here.
Junie and Wenchie I hope that your recoveries are going well and that you have no pain. Hopefully you are mobile and able to get outside and enjoy some of the summer.
Shep ladybugs are loved by many, and the same can be said for Blondie, sorry to hear of her passing.
MammaRay are you still on holidays?
Kath and Chevy it is not hot here, but it is humid. There was funnel cloud warnings today, we have had 21 days since the beginning of June with rain.
We went out for my sons birthday last night to a bar restaurant and had a good time. My daughter was supposed to be getting married next month, but her boyfriend bailed on her. She's beside herself and had to take time off work, but she is still with him [what is with that]. He is lucky though, he didn't lose any money, just us and his parents, mainly us. My son did not want him at his dinner, but everything went smoothly . I can't believe he would even want to come.
Now for some good news, I heard last week I am scheduled for reconstruction surgery Aug 5, I 'm very excited. wooho!

Forward, I agree. Dogs are loyal and forgiving. We human can learn from them. I'm sorry to hear about the wedding cancellation. August 5th is around the corner! Will you be getting Barbie boops?
Kathi, your DH is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? And he doesn't like you on this site either? What a coincidence!
Ms. Chevy, one day I did just that- I put my hands on my Jennifer Lopez hips(minus the bubble butt; mine is flat as a pancake) and looked at DH square in the eyes and said....'Have you gone completely out of YOUR MIND? I don't fuss when you blah blah blah. These ladies are my friends. They understand my struggles and then more blah blah blah.' You see, Ms. Chevy and Kathi, inside that adult body there is an insecure child who is jealous for our love. After our talk, DH seems to understand my needs to receive and give support. I try to be mindful of his needs also. Trying not to be Mrs. Hyde. Sooooo Ms. Chevy, your "nothing" is something.
Jazzy, you found your sandals! Got to get a cute pedicure to go with them. I like the color and the accent. Good job for spoiling yourself.
ShepK, beautiful piece about the lady bug. Yup, life is short. Our journey here is only temporary. I will share with you what I think about the ending of The Life of Pi after Ms. Smarty sees the movie as I don't want to spoil it for her. Have you gotten your rail installed yet? How is DS doing?
Ms. S, I am free on the 26th or 29th if you are still up for it. Maybe Sensi could join us??
Lori, JunieB, and Susan, how are you ladies doing?
Welcome Judy! Are you an RN
Edit: my spelling check is wot doing its work!
-
lover, 29th would be good. Hopefully Sensi will make it too.
No new Evie pics. I did ask if she had any 6 mo pic but she hadn't done any yet. Out of town the next two weeks starting tomorrow. Back on the 25.
Hi Judy, welcome. We're all a bit (not me) crazy here!
Wenchie, how you doing? Being good?
-
Hi everyone! I've been busy with family visiting and my Mom being in the ICU for the past few days so I've been laying low and just resting.
My procedure went off without a hitch. I was scheduled for 5 to 6 hours but it took about 3.5 hours of surgery and I spent 2 hours in recovery. I was upset as I was woken during the most warm and comforting sleep I've had in 4 months! What gives? :-)
With all that's going on around me and spending all day yesterday at the hospital with my Mom, I'm doing very well. I have my FU with my PS today. My drains haven't bothered me at all. Thank the Lord! I have to be under 20ccs before I can have them removed. My left (cancer side) was 5ccs this morning and my right side was 25cc. They've been pretty much all over the place but I've had no pain whatsoever. I'm very tender all over but no "real" pain. The phantom nipples have shown up. It's hilarious when my nipples react to the cold and I have no nipples! It feels like I'm having a "let down" of milk when I stand up which is also very entertaining to everyone around me.
I still haven't made my FU with my BS yet. I'm not sure why I'm dragging my feet about that. Maybe it's cuz she hasn't been right about anything that she's told me from the beginning! Oh well...
Our church family has gone above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined! The food is of a wonderful healing quality and ohhhh soooo gooood!
I'm heading back to my recliner and a nap. BBL

Lover, glad to hear I am not the only one whose hubby feels that way. Sorry you are/were in the same boat. The last time he pulled this stunt I just looked at him and asked him if he felt better for saying what he did. His expression was priceless. He doesn't see the camaraderie that goes on with these discussion boards. He sees it as not getting beyond the cancer. When he pulls his crap line about that I just look at him and say, "No Sh.t Sherlock. Take a look at my chest. No boobs and plenty of scars. Doesn't take an advanced degree to figure that one out." I have learned not to share too much ever since I told him my GYN asked if I still did exams. He thought that was ridiculous. The man lives in a bubble world at times. It will be 44 years of marriage come August. Must say he has become a stubborn mule in his old age. (Hmm, can we say jack a$$.)
Wench, you sound like you are going very well. My drains didn't bother me at all either. I had and still at times can feel the weight of my breasts and my surgery was four years ago! I remember making that comment to my BS and he said that was perfectly normal since it was an amputation of a body part.
Lookie, I can't blame your son for not wanting your daughter's boyfriend at his dinner. I want to throttle the guy for you for breaking off the wedding. We are looking at a wedding in October and hubby and I are paying the bulk of the costs. Is there any chance that the wedding could still happen?
-
Wench you sound upbeat and positive, good to hear that the drains do not bother you. I had them twice and was very happy when they came out.
I didn't have a lot of pain either after mastectomy. I had more lymph nodes removed after chemo and that was painful.
Loverly and Kath I don't understand why anyone would begrudge you posting on bco, especially if it brings you comfort and peace of mind. I sometimes think people just need something to complain about.
Kath the wedding will not be happening anytime soon, everything has been cancelled. He has a history of not following through with anything . His parents are fed up with him, as well as everyone else. I wish my daughter wouldmove on.
-
Pretending to be out of bed but I get up sloooow 🐢
BBL ☕
Edited to double check.... It is Monday right?
-
We just got back from my PS appointment. Everything looks wonderful! My drains have been pretty low the past 2 days, he felt they might have been clogged. After taking everything apart, cleaned and put back together they are working just fine. I go back to see him on Thursday afternoon, my FU with my BS is Thursday morning. PS says if drains keep going the way they are he'll pull them Thursday. I don't want them pulled to early as some ladies here have had that done to them just to have the drains replaced. Not this Chicadee!
-
Out with the drains. !!!
-
Oh, you wild woman you! The possibilities are ENDless! You mean you are no longer tethered? And leak-free? We need to all celebrate!
You GO girl!!! xoxo
-
Wenchie, sounds fantastic.
Sorry to hear about Blondie, Chit.
-
Smaarty and Lover-will have to see about lunch on the 29th....been sort of in a funk. Oncotype score came back at a 30. When MO called to give me number, she said she'll be recommending chemo.....don't know what I'm going to do. My ER+ 8% changed to ER- and my PR- changed to a PR+. Appointment in tomorrow. Got some big decisions to make.
Hope everyone else is well. Sorry for the loss of Blondie. I didn't know her, but she sounds like she was great.
-
Hello Ladies;
Wenchie - So glad your recovery is going so well. I am envying your church family being so involved. Only one woman from my church even called and that was during the last week at rehab. Been thinking about finding a new church for awhile, but now am sure I will.
Sensi - Sorry to hear you're experiencing that difficult news.
Kathindc & Loverly - It's too bad your husbands are so clueless about your need for support from others who have/are walking the same path.
Jazzygirl - NO FAIR! You found your sandals. Very pretty manicure too. Still no luck here on the blanket.
Sheppie - How was the nap?
Lookie - I went to P.T. today and dang the muscles hurt as I walked to the bus stop afterwards. But, hip feels great. Just need the muscles to settle down. Fatigue from surgery is getting better too. Saw MO on Thursday and they checked my ANC. It was 2.01 before surgery, after being off the Ibrance 3 weeks. On Thursday it was still only 2.09 after being off the Ibrance 7 weeks. Would have thought the count would have rebounded better.
So sorry to hear about the wedding cancellation. Make him pay you back half the cost. It's the least he could do.
Smaarty - Have a good time on your trip.
Hey Chevy! 110 degrees is soooo wrong. I would never make it.
Welcome Judy!
Got to talk with my sister again last Friday. She shared some more info about my father, like his hobbies (grilling, cooking), favorite flowers (roses, carnations), color (green), etc. He also liked dogs. Had a Rottie mix named Sadie when he was killed. My sister was able to find her a good home with a family who lived in the country. She also shared the origins of her sons names.
Guess that is all for now. Until later!
-
Wenchie - health and healing to you.
LookForward - so sorry to hear of your DD's pain, I hope one day this will just be a small, hardly ever remembered blip in her life, but know that it does not feel remotely like that presently. Best wishes for your surgery.
-
good morning ladies. Hope y'all are still sleeping well. I am wide awake and am having horrible back pain. Grr
Hootie hoo
-
Because life is hard and we have to find the humor where we can....
-
Love It!
-
Watch that toking
-
Sassy- no toker, but definately a joker!
-
LOL Jazzygirl!
Mom came home tonight and is doing very well. Thank goodness!
I'm still doing great although I need more naps, that's for sure!
I have FUs with both my PS and my BS tomorrow. My drains are down to 15ccs a day so I'm pretty confident they will come out tomorrow. YIPPEE!!
It would be nice if my path report was in tomorrow but I think it's way to early for that. I think with having my daughter and her family here has helped keep my mind off of that part. We'll see.
Jayce my 3 yo DGS asked me to go home with them, if it weren't for this BC I would have gone with him! He's my true buddy!! He remembers so much and it's like the months apart doesn't mean a thing to him. He walks right in and steels my heart without hesitation! It's like his face is as bright as the sun as soon as he sees me! We are inseparable!!
My pain level has been a little higher today and my feet are still swollen but nothing to really complain about!
I'll be back with a full report when I get home tomorrow afternoon
Hugs and Kisses to All!!
