Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Finally hit the 2 mile mark today! But I still can't get my Fitbit to show steps, only miles. Weird
-
Isn't it wonderful that we don't have to keep up with eachother! Otherwise we would all have to try and match ruthbru which ain't happening. But I also want to give myself a kickstart but having family in from Sunday to Wednesday or Thursday so will wait and start with a "real" New Years resolution to do better. So watch out friends!
TampaBay, they have the cutest patterns in those leggings and the fabric is super soft. I have about 7 pairs. The BC awareness ones are new so I may soon have 8. I kinda like that tree, maybe just because it's different. I grew up with 10 ft live trees and now have an artificial one with fiber optic lights that you just stand up and plug in (Snickers, it is green at least). Good enough for me as if I wasn't having company probably would not have dragged it out at all.
ruthbru, didn't see anyway to make a group on the fitbit site though I only looked very quickly. Will look again but I don't think there is one but if we all generate or accept the email we should be able to see all the same people.
Exercise today just walking around a small quaint town, in and out of fun stores so only a little over 6000 steps. Hope to do better tomorrow.
Night sculpted friends.

Claire_in_seattle so glad there's at least one person who understands the importance of "the perfect tree". Unfortunately this year I found it, but had to run downtown for cash, and it was gone by the time I got back. So a compromise tree this year (husband hates tree shopping, would be happy with no tree, but is necessary for getting the tree onto and off of the car...). But it will be pretty
Skipped Thursday (except walking) because I was so sore I could hardly move. Friday: walked all over shopping, then to and from Pilates. Got me just below 10K (per cellphone tracker). Next classes are Wednesday. Time to dust off my Pilates ring and roll, and start exercising at home.
Wishing all of ou inspiring ladies the happiest Christmas season ever!
-
I haven't done much formal exercise the last 3 days but have been getting in a lot of steps, albeit not at a brisk pace. My son had some testing on Wednesday so walked all over the hospital. Then starting Thursday and Friday its been non-stop shopping trying to get everything done. I have one more gift and grocery shopping today. I'm actually looking forward to Christmas being over and the ability to focus on exercising. I haven't gained any weight but am feeling bloated and just unhealthy!
Everyone almost has me wanting to get a fitbit to join in the fun competition. I have never done it because how would do you track other exercise like biking or yoga? Does it track your total active time or just steps and miles?
-
We had one of those aluminum Christmas trees (with the rotating color wheel!) when I was a kid. Mom's allergic to pine so we couldn't have a real tree and the artificial green ones back then were not so nice. If you're gonna go fake, go all the way, eh? BTW, that tree may have been made in Manitowoc WI.
Been a bad badger and not @gym all week. Staying busy and walking at lunchtime but much to do for end-of-year and the holidays. Will do the last of the Christmas baking today then off to MIL's for a few days. Oh that reminds me, need to pick up some firewood...
Happy weekend to all and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. ♥

Did some shopping at the mall yesterday. What a zoo! I won't be doing that around Christmas time anymore. Anyway, I got in a little over 7000 steps just doing that. No elliptical last night, but I'll be doing that this morning. I basically rested last night.
Snickersmom - Do you have your main goal set to steps? I seem to remember seeing that somewhere. I can't find it on my app right now.
Patoo - I can't wait to get my new leggings. I ordered the breast cancer awareness & one that had snowflakes on them. I saw that it was a thin material. That's perfect for our kind of weather.
Claire_in_Seattle - Your pudding sounds divine!
TwoHobbies - The fitbit flex 2 appears to automatically register certain activities. It registers the elliptical movements but you have to have your hands on both bars. These are the activities that it automatically registers (from the website):
RunningWalkingOutdoor bikingEllipticalSwimming (Fitbit Flex 2 and Fitbit Ionic)Sport—Includes high-movement sports like tennis, basketball, soccer, and others. Sports that might not be recognized include those without continuous movement or that vary in intensity level, like golf.Aerobic workout—Includes aerobic activities with continuous movement, such as Zumba®, cardio-kickboxing, and other dance classes. My fitbit registers steps, miles, calories, and active minutes. I believe the more advanced fitbits do much more than that (like heart rate).
-
Yeah, the tree reminded me of Virginia. We had ice storms there. The tree branches would crack off from the weight of the ice. We had a Christmas with no electricity one year. That's what that tree reminded of, but it was still pretty in its own kind of way. I can see it in one of those modern homes that has everything white and stainless steel appliances. I don't know if anyone has ever been to Restoration Hardware, but they have some beautiful furnishings there.
-
Badger, I secretly admired aluminum Christmas trees with the rotating color wheel.
BodyBalance this morning and now to baking a chocolate birthday cake for DS.
-
TampaBay - I finally got it working right. My husband took a look at it and realized that for some reason, it had the wrong device listed for me. So now I can see steps, etc. and I should be good to go. Of course, it ran out of battery this morning and so is now charging.Yesterday I finally did 2 miles but I don't know how many steps. I will be cooking/baking most of the day today at my daughter's, so I don't think I'll be closing in many steps. It's really icy out here and they won't let me go out for a walk so I'm confined to the house. I still have some wrappings to do, too.
Patoo - I don't know if we can create a group on Fitbit although there is a place that says Groups. I'll see if I can figure it out. It would be fun to have us all connected!!
Have a wonderful weekend and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!
-
I am connected to Patoo and TampaBayBucGirl but I don't think we can form a group

Hi ladies, POUND and Yoga this morning.
When a person accepts your fitbit friend request, the sender get an email that the person has accepted your offer and also suggests that person might want to become friends with your other fitbit friends. I am going to 'tell' the fitbit place to send those requests out. As some people have different fitbit names and BCO names, if you get a suggested friend from me, don't recognize it & want to 'know' who they are on BCO, PM me and I will let you know. Seems kind of complicated!
-
For some reason I thought we could create groups. Not sure though. But we can do 'challenges' and add our friends. I'll create one. I just don't want to pressure anyone into feeling they're not doing enough! I've been part of groups but people became too competitive and it sort of fell apart
A no pressure fun group is all we need. We do what we can. And please don't feel you have to join.
-
I don't have fitbit and probably won't get one, but will keep walking....though today was not a good example. Other than a Costco run, I've been much too couch bound!
-
Quick check-in before I start all my chopping, sauteing, basting etc. etc. Have a wonderful day!!!!!!
-
Had a fabulous ski yesterday. Here are pictures as promised. Note the frost on my hair from the combination of working up a head of steam and the cold temperatures. You needed to keep moving, preferably in the sun. About 8 miles total, but got there too late to get in the full distance.
Merry Christmas everyone!!! I still have some things to get for tomorrow's dinner, plus deliver puddings. The last of my gifts sent via post got there yesterday. Whew!!! - Claire
-
Wow, that's so beautiful! Especially all the pine trees in the background. Sounds like a great workout!
I did 45 minutes on the elliptical yesterday (level 1). Oh, and a little walking while doing last minute shopping.
Merry Christmas to all!!! Happy Holidays!
-
I have been walking daily and gently increasing my duration (the snow has been adding extra level of difficulty as I walk on snowy fields and trails) but last night I noticed I appear to be getting a seroma under my snb site. Boo
Doesn't seem there's a consensus on whether exercise causes them or makes them worse so I guess I'll just continue but maybe slow down a bit. I do remember I picked up a shopping basket with the 'wrong' arm recently so possibly that didn't help.
-
Thanks for the info, TampaBay. It looks like they do have one that will track other exercise. i will consider that. too bad I already bought my present to myself this year.
Claire thats a beautiful scene and why I love to exercise outdoors.
It is snowing all morning so I had to go for a walk in it. 40 minute walk.
Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
-
Claire - love the pictures! It's absolutely gorgeous out there and you look so happy!! My niece and her husband live on their boat at some marina in Seattle, but I'm guessing you are more in the mountains, right? Just gorgeous!
TampaBayBucGirl - you are really going to town on that elliptical! My only exercise equipment is my two feet and when we are in New England in the winter, I just have aches and pains from the cold. So my only exercise is walking around the house or shopping. I love visiting the kids but I'm really looking forward to the warm Florida weather.
I was so proud of myself this morning. We went to church with our daughter and her husband and two daughters and they go to a very small country church. When the minister was asking for concerns and celebrations, I stood and said that the last time I visited I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer, and this time I am now breast cancer free. Then the minister (a woman) said "you go, girl! I am an 11-year survivor." It made me feel so good to stand up, flat-chested, and say it out loud to strangers.
The reason I'm telling you this is because I know my strength is coming from the support I have been getting from all of you. Even though I will never meet most of you, I feel like I know each and every one
I hope everyone has a warm and Blessed day and a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
Ann

Walking 1.5 miles a day!
-
Welcome deehenn and that is a terrific distance to walk! Nice photos Claire.
Pilates at 10am and wrapped last present at 5:30pm. Had a wonderful seafood dinner at home cooked by DH of lobster, oysters and scallops. We have a Christmas Eve tradition after dinner of unwrapping new Christmas theme jammies and watching movies. Wishing you and yours a wonderful evening.
-
I walked a mile today, woohoo! Just around the neighborhood, felt good. Actually, my new knee didn't bother me at all: my other knee (going to be replaced in February) was the only thing that kept me from making it two miles...
Just hubby and me tonight and tomorrow, will see more family later in the week, and then just before New Year's my sister and I are off to Japan for a two week trip to visit her son who lives in Tokyo. Lots of walking will be involved!
I am craving Christmas cookies, so going to give in and make a batch of Mexican wedding cookies since I have all the ingredients.
Happy holidays and Happy New Year to all!!

Hi all. Finally finished shopping in prep for cooking tomorrow (Oh my, patoo cook - bite your tongue!) Son and DIL now here so not much in way of walking exercise the next few days. They both have CP and use walkers so can't walk much.
I did manage to create a group "BCo Sculpted friends" in the Fitbit app and sent out an invite to the 7 who sent me their email. Let's see if it works and what we can do with it.
Wishing everyone a very blessed Christmas or if you don't celebrate but still enjoy this time of year, a blessed day. Hope all who observe had a Happy Hanukkah and Kwanzaa starts on Tuesday so it truly is the season to be grateful for all we have.
Night sculpted friends.

BTW, if your type of fitbit does not automatically count your 'other' exercises you can go into your phone/computer/tablet, whereever you downloaded and go to 'Log' and input the info yourself. You can also enter your water intake (which I need to do so I get back to drinking more water).
Night.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays to all. I have lost the entire months of Nov. and Dec. working too many hours and editing too many photos. We had an awesome 2-day BC walk in mid Nov. My son walked the second day 10-mile stretch with a group of teens. I photographed both days again. I'm still fighting the lower back disk. Had a lumbar epi right after the walk and another scheduled for next Friday (end of year freebie). I have been walking and going to the gym for the dread mill as often as possible given my work schedule. As always I will try to keep up with posts from now on. I miss these boards.

Surprise B'day snow in early Dec.
-
Day started light and easy and knew deep down it would happen. Burst into tears during Christmas dinner because my heart goes out to those who lost the one they love the most this year. I hate this disease as much as I hate Trump. Happy Christmas!
-
LilacBlue, I'd love that ornament for my tree! Hope you got a good walk in after dinner and feel better!
Sending holiday greetings to all!
Octogirl
-
LilacBlue - don't feel bad about the tears. I did the same thing while my granddaughters were opening gifts. I didn't even make it as far as Christmas dinner
-
Good for you! We had about 4-5 inches of snow here in Mass. this morning and I don't even own a pair of boots anymore. So we will be staying inside today. No exercise for me except up and down the stairs trying to pack.
So did the shots work for your back? I have had issues with herniated disks for about 9 years. The first time I ended up in the hospital and had a lumbar epidural that was extremely painful. It left me with nerve damage in that leg and foot, so I swore I'd never do another shot in the back. But everyone I know with back issues gets them and never complain about painful injections. Do they bother you? Have they worked? The other 2 times tthey just sent me for PT and lots of rest, and that seemed to do the trick.
-
Finally got my place ready for Christmas Dinner. Soup and ragu are made, and got all the stray detritus cleaned up and out the door. Will go pick up my friend as we were treated to a real White Christmas. Loving it!!!
Just before the snow hit yesterday afternoon, I was able to gather some branches and rose hips during my run. A new way to work in exercise....
Merry Christmas to all!!! - Claire
