Well I'm done exercising for a while. My daughter and I were in a car accident last night. Thankfully, no serious injuries.Bumps and bruises on both of us and my wrist is fractured in 3 places. They put a cast on it today and I go back Friday to see if the bones have shifted at all. If they have, then it's surgery. If not, six weeks in the cast. No idea what this means for work. It's my left wrist, which is non dominant, but also is my cancer side. So there was plenty of twisting to get the bones in the right spot and a lidocaine shot. I'd have passed out were it not for the lidocaine, but now I'm worried about lymphedema. This year cannot get over fast enough. 2018 needs to be better.

oh CDV, that sounds awful. I'm sorry to hear about the accident; relieved to know that you and your daughter only had minor injuries. I hope that the wrist starts to heal in the best possible way.

Oh, cdv, that is awful. so sorry to hear that....hope your wrist heals quickly and uneventfully!

Back to PT today after a break over the holiday. Squats, bike time, leg lifts, lots of fun stuff (not). Mostly walking without a cane now.

cdv: So sorry this has happened to you! Thankful that you and your dd were not seriously hurt. Hopefully the bones in your wrist will not move and you don't need surgery.

Oh no, CVD, that is horrible!! Glad it wasn't worse, but a fractured wrist in no fun. Hopefully it will heal as quickly and uneventfully as possible. Hugs!

Thank you, everyone. I am very, very thankful my daughter was not hurt. It could have been much worse. Seatbelts and airbags save lives. The whole thing terrified my daughter. She just started driving and drives herself back and forth to college. I was the driver and she was in the passenger seat. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get her behind the wheel Wednesday to get to class. Fingers crossed

cdv-sending healing thoughts your way. Glad it wasn't worse but wish you could rewind the clock.

Thanks for the good thoughts. Worked a full day today but am in a lot of pain so tomorrow might just try a half day and see how it goes. I may end up in PT but I am hoping not to. It is so complicated to get after school appointments.

Sounds like many are enjoying warm weather. It was windy and freezing in CT today. Maybe milder temps are headed our way

Trying to catch up after being away for Thanksgiving. cdv - sorry to hear about your accident but glad you are both OK. Ginger - sorry to hear about your back, hope you get some relief soon. Ruth- already wrapping presents! - I have not bought one present yet, but I am mostly an online shopper. No decorations up here either, I absolutely adore Christmas, but DH does not, so decorating is all me (except he does bring the tree in and get it in the stand.)

We had a lovely Thanksgiving down in DC - and plenty of time to plan to declutter our house with the long drive down and back! We decided to tackle the attic of the house first, the place where we never go except to get xmas decorations or a suitcase. It is full of mystery boxes, old childrens toys, etc., and not enough room to stand up so it will take some doing. We stopped using it for storage in the late 90's when we built our garage (with a giant stand up 2nd floor for storage), so everything stored up there hasn't seen the light of day in many years.

No organized exercise for me yet, except laundry and house chores - how does your house get dirty when you are away?

cdv, so glad you and DD we not seriously injured. Fingers crossed that there is no bone shifting and healing in on a forward momentum and easy does it for this week until xray results. Octo, wow, you are doing great. Pat, good to catch up with you. Scared - Body Combat a fit for you - go for it! Nice photos Claire. Ruth, you are such a positive inspiration to so many. Falconer, hope those side effects of L are less painful for you this week. HeidiHill, DH was in St. Gallen yesterday and perhaps with more notice, I could go with him. Cheryl, on Sunday attended quarterly workshop for #79. The on/off mat at a diagonal can't work for my classes as you know, cycling before and we need those mats to keep off grotty sweaty floor. Like the tai chi.

Off to run a load of wash and get dinner on the move. Stay warm and snug everyone!

    BodyBalance & Pilates today.

    Edited for spelling -sigh.

Just back from my 75 min lunchtime yoga class...with the holiday this was my first class since last Wednesday, ugh! I kept moving with all the cooking and cleaning and walking...but happy to be back in the routine...not happy that the yoga teacher (yes! the teacher) was sick! TT

Hi All. I pushed mowed for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The grass looks okay - it was mainly to get the leftover leaves. Then I went to the park for a partial walk/run as it was getting late and the sun was going down. Delightfully cool weather. Made mowing fun!

Decided to try interval training on the exercise bike, 4min hard/ 3 min easy x 4. Ouch. Hopefully it counteracts many hours sitting on my rump sewing counted cross stitch Christmas ornaments.

Morning! Did a Jillian Ripped in 30 workout +15 additional minutes of strength work last night! Followed by plopping myself on couch and watching 3 episodes from season 1 of This Is Us. Hubby and I didn't watch last year and caught an episode a few weeks ago and loved it. Decided to get thru season 1 and catch up on what we have missed from season 2 before starting to watch the new episodes each Tuesday. I am not a big TV person but actually enjoying it! Today the schedule I am following calls for a 30 minute run..10 min warmup then 3 min of running followed by 1 min of air squats, then repeat. That could be fun today and bad tomorrow! 😁

Happy Wednesday! Wishing everyone good workouts!

Runnermum, good to catch up on missed episodes of This is Us, it is a great show and builds from the beginning.

Got classical stretch done, and 11 mile bike ride with hubby. I just wasn't feeling it today, we usually ride to the beach (~18 mile ride). Lovely weather here, high 50's and sunny, so it definitely was a get outside kind of day. Off to the theater tonight with friends to see Finding Neverland.

tessu: I bet your cross stitch Christmas ornaments are beautiful!

Runner: I don't watch This Is Us but I've heard it's really good.

Pat: Have fun with your friends tonight.

Today was gorgeous with the high near 70. I started my Christmas decorating and had the front door open for fresh air. This afternoon I went for an extended walk/run and just felt alive!

14000 steps today. My resting heartbeat is as low as 53. And I easily achieve cardiovascular level heartbeat. I feel truly blessed that my heart is still ok and improving despite 8 dose dense chemos.

Just to be sure my heart chk ups start tomorrow.

I subbed today, walked the puppies, went to Zumba & yoga. I didn't really feel like going to the last two, but the tee shirt I grabbed had the logo 'CRUSH EXCUSES' written across the front.......so I had to go!

No formal exercise, but went up and down our stairs a gazillion times — spent most of the day decluttering. My arms are sore and I got out of breathseveral times, so that counts :)

Morning, rooting you all on and feeling motivated from all the steps, activity, and classes I see here. Stuck in my recliner (aka “the cancer throne" by my wisecracking daughters because I lived in it after surgery) and fervently hoping all this stillness equates to bones reattaching correctly so there is no surgery 🤞.

Dd got in her car and drove to school and back yesterday. Very relieved she was able to do that. And proud of her because I know how hard it was. Here's a pic of the car hubby took when he cleaned it out for me. I know I don't have to tell you ladies, but seatbelts really do save lives.

WOW cdv, you both are so lucky! Hope the healing both mentally and physically goes well.

Went to the play "Finding Neverland" last night - it was fabulous. Great cast, great story. It's a touring company, look for it in a city near you and go see it, you will not be disappointed.

Did Classical Stretch this morning, now heading out to our woods to look for a suitable Christmas tree. We have been purchasing a cut your own tree from a local tree farm for several years, but this year have decided to go back to one of the white pines that grows everywhere on our property, if we can find one that works. We did this occasionally in the past, and since they are not pruned into a perfect shape they sort of look like a Charlie Brown tree, but with enough decorations they seem to work! Oncologist appt. this afternoon.

cvd, when I saw that picture I said an immediate prayer before even reading the post. Breaking your wrist is no small price, and with the risk of LE, but gratefully you and your daughter are whole.

Managed to get through my yoga/pilates combo class without hurting myself...which is actually my objective, to have a successful exercise class as this is a rigorous practice for me.

Happy end of November/beginning of December...temps in high 60's in southern Virginia. TT

That is a very sobering picture, CVD. Yes, thank goodness for seat belts!

I had a busy day......30 minutes of toning, got all the out-of-town presents packed up and mailed, subbed in the afternoon, did a dog walk (it is still nice out), and now I plan an attack on the Christmas cards. Maybe someday I will get enough done so that I will have time to lounge around eating bon bons!
