    Taught moms yoga tonight. We've been feeling pretty good, so tonight we tried a loose revolving triangle pose. When I came out of it, I thought maybe I blew out my tissue expander. Not sure what happened as the TE is still there and still hard. Just feels a little different. My guess is that perhaps the stretch in my pectoral muscle could've caused the TE to shift. Though the women in class are my friends, I think I gave them a little scare as I was poking and grabbing all over my foob, trying to feel what happened. Which of course feels pretty much like nothing as the sensation is gone. Haven't had a chance to get a good look at it yet, so I'll let you know after my shower. Anyway, I'm on schedule to have this thing taken out on May 30 and replaced with the belly fat I've grown since my third child and the BC diagnosis. So if it's alittle out of place, well, so be it. Or as we say in Sanskrit, swaha.

    Met up with an old friend yesterday for a walk on the beach. My, she sure walks fast! Her idea of a reward after walking was a glass of wine. Then we met her husband for dinner and another glass of wine. We walked for over an hour, but my loseit app didn't quite equal out the calories with the exercise! Next time I will meet her for a walk in the morning (and she will probably want to go for ice cream). She is skinny as a rail (and I definitely am not!).

    Still hanging in there with my skipped beats. Got a busy couple of days, then I drive to NY Saturday evening to pick up hubby from his Nepal trip. A little worried about the weather and his flight, big storm coming for the east coast Saturday into sunday. My best scenario would be his plane gets diverted to Boston before I start driving to NY!

    Got my walk in, hung out laundry. Still got my workout planned for later

    PT this morning. It's tiring because she really pushes me, but that's what she's there for, and I am making progress.

    Got in my 1.5 mile walk with DH. Beautiful spring day with the lilacs in bloom

    Retirement has it's perks (for teachers they include, but are not limited to; no staff meetings, no boring in-services, no irritate parents, no forms to fill out......and you can take a vacation without writing up 15 pages of lesson plans before hand and unscrambling it all when you return)!

    I survived my annual oncology checkup and celebrated with a glass of hard cider and an enormous, dripping-with-fat, mushroom swiss burger...OMG, it was delicious!!!! Maybe I will have a mini-blizzard at the Dairy Queen tonight........(yes, I will be back on the wagon tomorrow).

    I took a walk this afternoon & will probably do some abs once I sign off. It is beautiful here too!

    Wonderful evening last night with my friend Amanda and the Seattle Opera production of Magic Flute. The star of the production was Zandra Rhodes who did the most amazing costume designs. The Queen of the Night was world class too. Came away energized, but beat from a very long day. Not good when I hit the hay after midnight.

    Dragged through today, but got in a nap, tea, and a snack prior to my 5k run this evening. Which was in the rain because of the nap. Felt marvelous when it was done and then I was on to dinner. Tonight was elk/pork sausages with fresh asparagus and other "with its". This includes a lovely rose wine.

    Off to bed, as more work awaits, especially since today I concentrated on essentials as opposed to everything on my "to do" list. For the record, I also did crunches in the AM and free weights as dinner was cooking. I will sleep super well. - Claire

    I've been doing more arm workouts in addition to spin class, and now my right underboob by the scar is really sore all of a sudden. I had a lift and reduction along with lumpectomy way back in Jan. It's mostly with arm above head that it's just really tight in one area. Annoyed, but can't help but be a little nervous too

    Mary, great to see your progress.

    Falconer and annoying, hope the foob or boob issues resolve. Falconer, I heard fat grafting improves healing because of all the stem cells in the fat. Good luck with it.

    Claire, what a wonderful night out. I admire your consistency with the crunches and free weights. Elk/pork sausages...will have to see where I can get those here.

    Lilac, we will have to do that one day. Will be happy to be your Zurich tour guide.

    Yesterday exercise was walking in the museum for a Monet retrospective.

    Am planning a US trip so will have to see if I can fit Daytona in. Thanks, patoo.

    Exercise today probably will be housework. Would have swept and Swiffered the kitchen floor but it probably would have gotten dirty from the rain we are going to get over the weekend.

    Exercise the past few days has been walking all over a conference meeting. It is surprising how many steps one can get walking through airports, around big conference hotels, etc. Unfortunately, the weather at meeting location (near Boulder, CO) was not favorable for much walking outdoors and enjoying the mountain views: it rained and was quite cold (by California standards)

    Swimming and more walking this week. Unfortunately, walking is getting harder and harder with the need for new knees...Just PM'd Ruth that I would love to come to FL, hoping I can time it with my knee surgery!

    Did a toning DVD in the basement with a friend. Now I have to clean up quick & then I'm off for an afternoon of subbing. It is so nice out that I will probably have to borrow a dog for walking purposes after school.

    Octo & Heidi, it would be awesome if you could make Daytona! (Octo, I will PM you back later today or tomorrow).

    Oh Ruth, love the meme! Just had a woman call and ask if 80 was too old to join Pink Ribbon Pilates - of course not, perfect age! HeidiHill, you are on and love Monet!     Thanks for the encouragement always! Today was a fun day at work- all the teachers give up their afternoon classes to teach fun workshops- my DH and I taught two 40 minute sessions of swing dance to eighth graders. The kids were so awesome and we had a blast. Everyone got a good workout. And left smiling. Happy Friday, y'all!

    Plantar fasciitis ! I haven't walked in over a week and I'm feeling it! I'm not sleeping as well at night and I have gained almost 2 lbs. I am staying off my foot as much as I can and it feels pretty good around the house. I thought I'd try taking it out to the drugstore yesterday, but it was so painful, I didn't try the grocery store. Got up early this morning and walked around Lowe's & Home Depot looking for tomato netting. I leaned on a cart the whole time & admittedly did not walk around entire stores. After about 15 minutes, I had to stop & find a place to sit. Let my husband find the netting. I hope this heals soon. I'm not used to being this inactive.

    Almost had a workout while dethawing the freezer today. While I was finishing the final stages of cleaning up the ice and water that was left from the dethaw, I nearly fell in twice! Would have been hilarious with the workout I would have gone through just getting myself out

    The weather is finally turning back to warmer. I am so happy about that. 14 minute walk Wednesday, 50 minute walk yesterday, and 20 minute walk today. I walked all the way around the lake yesterday-the first in several weeks since my accident. it was one of thise scenarios where I didnt really want to do it about 70 percent of the way through, but by that time there was no choice but to continue.

    Yoga questions. I just want to point out that there are a lot of free yoga classes for cancer patients. try googling it and see if there is one near you. I like gentle yoga and yin yoga for early in the recovery.

    Be careful there, Mommyof2. Dont get stuck in the freezer!

    A walk around the lake sounds lovely. I went to the gym and got on tread mill and did weight machines. The best part of the day was planting geraniums in my front porch pot. Weather is getting warmer

    Velvet, I'm not sure if someone said this yet, but a cortisone shot in the foot can be helpful. One of the moms in my yoga class just had it done two weeks ago for plantar fasciitis and so far so good. Have you asked your dr?

    Oh, Falconer, I wish I could do that, but I have a needle phobia and avoid shots as much as possible. I had a really bad experience when I was in my 20s and have a hard time as it is with routine labs!

    Walked nearly 5 miles today, mostly on the dreadmill.

    Fortunately I don't have a needle phobia (though I admit that I have to close my eyes and can't ever look)...as today my Ortho doc shot steroids into each knee in preparation for my upcoming trip to Australia and Papa New Guinea. This is just a stop gap measure to get me through the trip (knee replacement surgery for osteoarthritis made worse by letrozole is in my future on both knees, most likely in early Sept and in January for left and right respectively).

    Have to admit that the knees feel better already! It had been getting so bad, but now I can walk much better already! Woohoo! Of course, I have a bit of a 'bounce-off-the-ceiling-will-I-sleep tonight-steroid-high that reminds me a bit of the not-so-good-old days of chemo. I really have a love-hate relationship with most drugs, and steroids are no exception.

    Doing lots of swimming, to try and be in as good of shape for my trip as I can be, given that my knees are basically shot (as well as shot up :-))
