Let's Post our Daily Exercise
Comments

yoga yesterday and running the day before. today it's off to travel soccer games so my exercise will be in my mouth (much to my 15 year old's chagrin)
-
My younger DD and I are on a mini vacation in SC to attend my older DD's best friend's wedding. It was held on the water yesterday at a place called Seabrook Island. It was so beautiful and we have the added bonus of an extra day which reduced airfare costs significantly. It is 75 degrees at 9am. There is a pool where we are staying and I think I will do some water fitness in a bit.
Lilac- I agree wholeheartedly with you about movement helping that fatigue. I experienced it myself. So glad you are reaching out to spread that word.
Pat- I hope you are doing ok. So hard to lose a friend.

I'm so behind! I just finished week 3 of radiation. I have still managed to get 94,000+ steps in a week while doing them. I also have PT because I am having some cording and lymphedema. I love my fitbit Alta. I wear it on my ankle so it looks like I'm on house arrest lol. When I'm pushing my girl in her wheelchair the steps do not count. Also when I walk with her I don't move my arm enough because she uses it to balance herself. I was losing 5,000 to 8,000 steps a day on my wrist. The Alta is slim so it doesn't look bad there!
-
Working out later.
-
swam laps for an hour today, then later went shopping for a new dress and shoes for an upcoming wedding....definitely got my steps and pool time in today, and since it was hot outside (high 80s, lots of sun), swimming and the indoor mall felt good!
-
I had a good yoga workshop yesterday. Not many people were there so we who were got lots of personal instruction. I also took a long walk as the weather is really nice this weekend.Today I took a short walk, did some abs, and sorted through 'stuff'. It's our town's cleanup week. If you drag stuff out to the curb; they will come and cart it away!
-
ruthbru-how nice! I am cleaning out right now and hauling it to all the thrift stores. We have a no kill shelter that rescues just about any animal. I like to donate there but if I could drag it to the curb I would!
-
It was our town's clean up weekend as well, but I wish they had curbside service! Instead, you have to take it to a drop off location about two miles from here: so I did help hubby load up our SUV with junk to haul over there....guess that also counts as part of my exercise.
-
The other nice thing about our cleanup week is that people are encouraged to TAKE items they see out on the curb. So if you love to fix up old stuff, or don't have funds and see something you need....take it (which reduces things going to the landfill, plus people who don't have a way to get larger items to Goodwill can put out old tables/TV stands/chairs etc. and 'donate' them that way). It is a very good service for the whole community.
Off to sub. Yoga tonight.
-
Ginger enjoy your mini vacay. Vargadoll that is funny I used to think about doing that when I was doing cycle classes. Octogirl all that lifting and throwing, yes that certainly counts.
Yesterday drove to San Diego for lunch with the BCO San Diego ladies but I left home super duper early so I could get to an 8.30am Body Combat class with a truly amazing instructor, the audio system in the club had blown the day before so no microphone no music. He ended up using a boom box for the music and he is so good there were almost 100 people in his class and he kept the whole group engaged and participating.
-
Garden n Sculpt this weekend at the cabin, transplanting iris. My shoulder was sore by the end of the day, but icing it and Aleve helped. Had my strength/flexibility class today. I'm still "air balling" most of the upper body moves, but I was able to do more than I could last week.
No turkeys this weekend (much to Mikey's relief) but a bear did pull down some feeders while we were out running errands. Haven't seen the bear yet, so we don't know if it's an adult male or a mom and cub(s).
-
walked to spin class and had phone stolen from my bag on the way there - knew it immediately, so turned around and walked home to cancel everything. missed class. grrrrr.
-
Annoyingboob- when I opened our page today your username always makes me chuckle, but then I read your post- how awful! Grrrr is right. What is wrong with people?
Nats- sounds like you're doing well- moving irises is not easy work!
I ran three miles today on our beautiful reservoir trail after work today.

Catching up a bit after not reporting in since Saturday. I can't believe how many pages I was behind already! Ruth, I laughed about the North Dakota summer being a Tuesday. So true! We keep going back and forth between 70s and 40s. I wish we could stick with spring! Pretty picture, Falconer. Annoyingboob, so sorry your phone got stolen. I left mine on the bathroom sink one time at a conference for maybe 4 minutes and when I went back it was gone already.
I have been feeling somewhat defeated by this concussion that I had. Fitness seems to evaporate with any downtime and I am sick and tired of the dizziness. Tired of having to work my way back to normal yet again. NEVERTHELESS SHE PERSISTED. Here is my exercise since Saturday when I last reported in. Sunday I mowed for 30 minutes. I had my son do the rest but it felt good to be out in our gorgeous 75 degree weather. Tuesday I walked (strolled) for 40 minutes. Our weather then took a turn back to nasty. Saturday I went shopping at the mall for a couple of hours (I'm counting it)! Today I got in a 16 minute walk but I got caught in the rain so I came back. It has literally rained every 20 or 30 minutes this afternoon, then the sun comes back out. Sigh!
-
Hang in there, TwoHobbies.
GRRRR, Annoyingb! Very maddening!
Beautiful scenery, Falconer.
I subbed in 6th grade today. Their classrooms are on the 3rd floor so I got a lot of exercise running up & down the stairs! I took a short walk after school & went to yoga. The new AARP magazine has a great article about it's benefits.
-
I am a new walker; started in January. The last three years that I worked, I spent at a desk. So, little to no exercise. Now that I am retired, I have started walking. I started slow...10 min. per walk/ 2-3 times a week. I am up to 25 min. per walk 5-6 days a week. I walk a slow 8 min., increase my intensity for 10 min., then do a slow 7 min. I feel good and am sleeping better. (I am actually leading up to something here.) This morning was my normal routine except as I was finishing my last 1.5 min. I got a sudden agonizing pain in my right heel. It hurt so much, I barely made it back to my car to drive home. The pain has stayed all day making it difficult for me to walk. It doesn't hurt when I have my foot elevated or even sitting here at the computer with both feet on the floor. It will hurt when I try to get up later and when I walk. My husband thinks I could have broken it, but my foot isn't swollen. My friend thinks it may be a spur. I looked online but didn't find any help there. I'm wondering what I could have done to cause this. If it still gives me trouble tomorrow, I can call my PCP or go to the employee clinic.
-
Ice & elevate, maybe take an aspirin. Do you have real good, supported shoes? If it doesn't feel at all better tomorrow, you should get it checked out.
-
velvet, could it be plantars fasceitis (sp)
Nats, good to hear from you
It's been weird walking without my steps being counted. Finally after 5 days, I finally deleted my Flex from the app. I decided to with the Alta HR because of the watch band style bracelet. I asked DH and the kids to get it for my birthday. So I will have a Fitbit again next week. It's been at least 5 years since I started tracking my steps.
Sweet dream
-
Grrr annoyinboob how awful, what is wrong with people. Velvet I also say maybe plantar facitis, take a strap and put it under your foot and stretch it back towards your body as that sometimes helps but if no relief go see your doctor. Nats glad you are on the mend. Beautiful serene area to walk at Falconer. TH hang in there, this too shall pass you are a prize fighter you get knocked to the canvas and you get back up, stay strong.
Tonight did an hour of Cardio Dance Party. -
Annoying, whoever stole it ought to be flogged with a wet noodle.
-
i got a new phone after spending about 3 hours at the shop. sooo inefficient!! i wasnt worried about everything password protected, but you could access my pics without a pw or login, so that creeper thief got an eyeful of my post op boob pics, lol!!! i hope his eyeballs never recover!! karmas a bitch...
walked for about 4 hours today. exhausted!!
-
Did a Denise Austin DVD, cleaned the garage, and 'semi-cleaned' some closets.
-
I couldn't get in to see my PCP, but I was able to see her PA this morning. Yep, plantar fasciitis. She recommended ice for pain, a compression foot sleeve for sleeping, orthotic for my shoes and stretching & range of motion exercises, but no more exercise walking for at least three weeks. She wants me to see my PCP for a follow-up when I go in for Well-Woman.
-
Did my 30 minute workout last night. Walked to my local post office to mail out a few things and then to Dunkin Donuts to get my breakfast.
Annoying, I hope that thief gets slapped hard by karma!!!!
-
Sorry about the plantar, VelvetPoppy. Hubby had that, and it is a struggle, but it does get better. Orthotics did help him quite a bit.
One of the best perks of my job is that I sometimes have to go to meetings in Yosemite National Park. (of course, once I retire in June, I can go there whenever I want, since I only live 1.5 hours drive away :-)) Anyway, after the meeting a few of us went for a late afternoon walk in the Valley/big meadow, and that was my exercise for the day. The waterfalls are supposed to be at a 30 year peak level day after tomorrow. Here is what Yosemite Falls looks like two days before peak.
-
Gorgeous area, Falconer. Sorry about your phone, annoyingboob. Funny about karma. TH, I know one can have therapy for vestibular/chronic dizziness/balance issues. Might be worth asking your doctor about. I would also try acupuncture.
Salsa last night. Tango tonight. Both are great for training balancing on high heels and challenging the inner ear with endless turns.
Lovely pic, octogirl.
-
Gorgeous picture, Octo!
Today's Walking Women picture......you can tell it's May because we are wearing sunglasses with our sweatshirts
-
Velvet - I struggled with plantar fasciitis for a year a couple of years back but it did resolve. I now use orthotics in my walking/running shoes and rarely wear anything in the way of a heel but do fine otherwise. Oh-and I treat myself to a 60 minute, $25 reflexology foot massage every other week (which just happened to be earlier today😋). Keep up with the stretching.
I also kept a frozen water bottle or two ready to roll under each foot while watching TV in the evenings.
Yesterday I did 45 minutes body sculpt and 60 brisk treadmill minutes.
Sleep well my sculpted sisters!
-
Velvet
There is also a little brace you can buy at wall green for around 20 bucks, it will keep your foot from drooping in the night. Its been a life saver for me as I have had it for yrs and it will flair up every few months. I wear the brace for a few nights and all is better. Rolling your foot on bottles of ice also works wonders.
Good luck
-
hi all, back after a break. Been feeling unsociable while working through a shock. DH forgot to close out of his browsing session one night and the next morning there they were, the Malibu String Bikini Models. PYT's with big boobs and barely-there bathing suits. Just slapped me upside the head. Felt betrayed and very much the crone. Creaky old me with no hormones, no breasts and nine-inch scars. Dammit. He's sorry but says it's no big deal. I say it's a huge breach of trust. This wasn't the first time so he knew better.
Not at acceptance but that's the goal. Need to get back to the place where I'm OK with myself. Meanwhile, I walk at lunchtime and will do more as the weather improves. There's spring cleaning and lots of yardwork to do. A clean house and pretty flowers are great incentive.
