Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Ran 3 miles this morning after working in the garden. Then I had to drive my DS to his away soccer match about an hour from here. Man did I have a creaky time walking from the car to the field. Woah there, Aromasin. Ease up on the joints there, aight
-
I did 1 mile on the treadmill 3.0 m/h and 3.5 on the recumbent bike for 20 minutes. Not a lot but I thought I would at least get a couple days in, it makes me feel much better and I am not sure if tomorrow I will have the ability. The neulesta shot is supposed to kick in tomorrow.
-
Did two hours of digging and planting which means a lot of squats and this evening I am already feeling it.
-
It was cold and rainy here today. I did some toning & indoor walking.
-
Annoyingb, upping protein helps me to curb my sweet tooth - a palm of almonds helps and also magnesium, as food rich in magnesium helps as well to keep sweet cravings at bay. Welcome carmstr835 and wonderful and inspirational that you are exercising during active treat, yet taking 24 hours off exercise - a down day, on either side of a chemo day is best as it helps your heart and immune system stabilize. Got in last night from a weekend away of tai chi. Wonderful weekend in Nottingham and took in the play Rent, at the local playhouse and loved it! Off to knock out a lesson plan for Pink Ribbon Pilates and an agenda for the meeting afterwards regarding our fundraising Wellbeing Day in July.
Have a good start to the week everyone!

Going to be up and down on a stepstool to change over the curtains

We have always lived in an area where there are a lot of ticks. Luckily I have never had lyme, but hubby has had it several times. The other night I had my feet up and noticed a bit of fluff on my toes (no glasses!) - tried to wipe it off with my other foot, no luck, turns out it was a tick attached between my toes!
We had a couple of days of unbearable heat, now we are back to needing a sweatshirt. Mary congrats on your good report from the doctor. Falconer hope the ticker is OK. I never did hear back from my doctor about my skipped heartbeats/houlter monitor - typical. I go searching for another GP, but all the good ones aren't accepting new patients. Wonder if it could be related to radiation. But I am thinking stress, could be a coincidence but they stopped a couple of days after my hubby came home. He's off again on a week long canoe trip with some buddies, so if they come back I will definitely need to keep him home forever!
I've been socializing more than exercising, and I feel it. Cold and rainy Monday is a good time to go back to the gym and at least walk the treadmill if nothing else.
-
Got the curtains changed and my fall/winter wardrobe stowed away until later this year.
-
Keeping refined sugar out of the house and out of reach as much as possible is my defence mechanism. I like Lindt 85% dark.
Did 20 min HIIT and 20 min Pilates yesterday. It's a holiday here, going to a nearby trail for a few hours of hiking.
-
Hi Everybody! Finally cleaned out the garden beds and planted our summer vegetables. Took hours. Better late than never.
-
I am waiting until Memorial Day to plant (which is smart around here); so you're not the last planter, Wonderland.
I had a fun 'school' day. One of my friends teaches two 6th grade advanced Reading classes & she invited me to come over and watch the play they had been working on (VERY good), and then I went over to the local Catholic elementary school & judged a speech contest for a friend who teaches there. It's the last week of school; so I don't imagine I will sub unless someone has an emergency. A good thing about being a teacher-type is that, with the end of each school year, there is a natural time to pause for reflection.
Oh yeah, I walked for 45 minutes in a cold drizzle and went to yoga tonight.
-
I did a lot of walking this weekend and today, but my biggest exercise was packing for my upcoming trip to Australia and Papua New Guinea; I leave tomorrow. See you all on the flip side, and will send pics! There will be exercise involved: walking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba....

Have fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, Octo!!! We will be looking forward to the pictures and tales of your adventures!
-
My goodness it's been weeks since I've been here, I've been crazy, busy at work, working late nights and weekends, I'm heading to Las Vegas on Thursday for a couple of days so I am looking forward to a short break. I have kept up in the exercise front, not as diligent as I was but getting to the gym at least every other day.
-
45 minutes of toning this morning & a 45 minute dog walk this afternoon. Cheryl, if you win the Jackpot in Vegas, send for me .
-
Send for me also, Cheryl!
It has rained all day today and I'm glad I planted the garden yesterday. Fast walked in the house - I set the oven timer and GO!
-
Heck yeah, you know I'd be sending for my squad if I won big
Tonight did my 30 minute HIIT on a bike Sprint class - then I came home and ate half a carton of Ben & Jerrys Cherry Garcia - I need to get my lips sewn shut!!!!
-
mixed it up and did pilates yesterday. cant move today, lol
-
Count me in, Cheryl, if you win. Octogirl, what a great trip that will be. Pat, that is so sweet about your heart skipping beats when your Sweetheart is away. Hope all is otherwise ok, though. Falconer, loved that Poem.
Lilac, hope everything is ok there. So awful. Sending hugs from across the heart of Europe.
Salsa for the past two nights. Tango tonight.
-
HeidiHill, thanks and it's horrendous that children and young people were targeted, mainly female as well. A subdued, quietness to life at the moment, yet Manchester is amazing. Without hesitating, people opened their hearts and homes to one another, as fellow humans uniting behind their collective grief and suffering. That to me is the indomitable English spirit.
Body Balance and Pilates tonight.
-
Thinking of Manchester today. Along with seeing the utmost evil, it is in tragic situations such as this that often you also see the the best of humankind.
Wednesday Walking Women this morning & yoga tonight.
-
Lilac - our hearts go out to everyone in the U.K.
Octo - have fun!!! What a dream trip.
Cheryl - don't forget to send for me too! 😁
Did my fitness class Monday and hit the fitness center today for a good workout. I have a day trip tomorrow with our Rec Depts senior travel group to Maryland's Eastern Shore. There's a new museum dedicated to Harriet Tubman, who will soon be on our 20 dollar bill. She was an enslaved person who escaped, then returned to Maryland numerous timesat great risk to guide dozens of others to freedom. When the Civil War started, she became an armed Army scout and spy for the Union. In her later years, she was active in the suffragette movement. Quite a remarkable life. The trip takes us to places that were significant to her, we tour the museum, and we even get a crab cake lunch at a local restaurant. Can't wait!
-
LB: Thinking of Manchester and all of England. It's sickening.
Nats: Sounds like you have an adventure planned for tomorrow. Have a fun time.
Tornadoes landed in counties surrounding where I live. We were lucky. I walked/ran early in the afternoon before the bad weather moved in.
-
Have fun Nats. Send for me hbcheryl. Love the pics of you walkers ruthbru. Got in 2 hours water volleyball before the downpours this morning. Pickleball tomorrow, 1 hour morning and 2 hours in the evening. Figure my knee is going to need the surgery for meniscus tears so give the doctor something real to work with!
Continued thoughts and prayers for Manchester. Such evil in the world - Why?
Night sculpted friends.
-
What an interesting trip Mary - enjoy! Patoo, you are giving a good workout to that knee. It is sickening Wonderland. Read a poignant article in the Guardian last night by the insightful and eloquent Gaby Hiinsliff: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/may/24/manchester-parents-losing-child-children-atrocity
I'm on a course called exercise for older populations and the reading, including statistical analysis are fascinating (to me). Today, I'm scrubbing the filthy kitchen floor (warm enough to have windows open and floor to dry), vacuuming and course work reading. Off to body balance tonight.
-
Such as sad article, Lilac.
A long doggie walk with the grand-puppy, a friend and her two canine companions, followed by 30 minutes of abs (followed by a huge hamburger & trimmings on the deck, undoing all my goodness!).
-
Your hamburger sounds delicious, Ruth! I plan on grilling hamburgers and hotdogs over the weekend.
Windy today. Walked/ran early in the afternoon bc I thought it was going to rain but it was only breezy with the clouds swiftly moving.
-
Morning, Beautiful Women.
I've been thinking about all of you and reading your posts that share the good parts of your lives, and, of course, the difficult parts. Pat, Karen, Lilac you've recently written about the strength you have had or seen in others around you. And Nats, to walk in Harriet Tubman's shoes, ahhh. There's incredible bravery. And the good of your lives, planting gardens, walking with friends, helping others overcome this disease, traveling to amazing places, loving our families, eating ice cream, hanging laundry in the breeze. Really it's all been an inspiration to me. Thank you all for coming back here again and again to hold virtual hands and to remind us we are not alone.
-
30 minute workout last night.
-
Lovely post, Falconer. Thinking of you as you end the school year & prepare for your upcoming surgery.
I am going to do some sort of exercise in a few minutes, and then be treated to lunch by a friend (I gave a little talk to her classes earlier in the year & she wants to pay me back......heck, yes!). After that, I think I finally dare to go flower shopping & planting. Yea!
