    I have been following the PAs advice and doing my stretches twice a day. I am also wearing orthotics and they help a lot.

    Hi all, haven't been on here since forever. Glad to see it's still so active. octogirl, didn't know steroid shots could keep you up. Had one in left knee on Tuesday and was up most of Tuesday night and didn't know why. Knee is much better now but just about all my activities are weight bearing so don't know how long it will keep the meniscus tears at bay. We'll see. Can go back to exercising mid this week so we'll see.

    Glad everyone seems to be doing fine and looking forward to having some come this way for Daytona Beach in November.

    Yesterday was yoga, a walk & a couple hours of yard work. Today I need to get 45 minutes of some type of aerobics in to round out the week.

    I slept in this morning after doing yesterday's Metric Century. Was sunny for the second half, but the spectacular views for the first half were obscured by light rain and mist. Feel only a bit sore, and was fine doing the ride despite relatively little time in the saddle this year. (One thing that helped was opting for my old ratty cycling tights which are much more comfortable for long hours of "sitting down" than my new, fashionable onesSillyHeart)

    This is great news because yesterday's ride was relatively difficult and I am now confident that I will be just fine for the Seattle-to-Portland which is in two months. I do need to ramp up the training, but I am already at a good fitness level.

    I will be making Ragu Bolognese with the fancy mushrooms I bought in a farm stand/gourmet shop on the way back. I also need to plant my fresh herbs. This means that my little garden is about 70% finished.

    One more week of the ordeal, and life will be relatively normal once again. I can't wait to have a bit more free time. Two nonprofit events this coming week (3, if you count the dinner) and I do a lot of the back end work. Can't wait to be on the other side of all this. Not to mention doing a spot of Vineyard Camping.

    Today's exercise was vacuum the hallway carpet runner, the stars and the living room rug. Cleaned the bathroom and now I am sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.

    DH is finally home, missed his connection in China so actually didn't get home until yesterday. He's back with all his annoying little habits that make him so dear to me! I really missed him. Still raining here, the weather is very discouraging, but the weatherman promises sun and 70's 80's for later in the week, so my exercise for today is dragging out my summer clothes while putting away the winter ones. And trying to get rid of some clothes too that I never wear, so hard for me to purge my closet. Goggling arm workouts for my sleeveless tops! Got on the scale Saturday and I did manage to lose a little weight while DH was gone, but that just means I am back to where I started in January. Now the hard work begins. But even losing a little I can feel it in my clothes. Hope you all have a good week.

    Pat, Google "batwing arms" on utube, there are some good, short exercises for that problem area (which I should be doing more religiously now that it's sleeveless weather!).I am subbing for the librarian today and am on a little break right now. How much fun is that for a bookie like myself! I'll walk after school and go to yoga tonight. Fun picture, Lilac!

    My arms are thin but I've got that wrinkly skin that looks so attractive...yuck. Ruth, did you gain weight on Arimidex? Tomorrow I complete my first week.

    Pat - so glad your hubby made it home safely. I bet he was tired. I had several Chinese co-workers who used to travel home occasionally, and everyone said what a long, frazzling trip that is. I just did the winter-to-summer clothing switch today too.

    More Garden N Sculpt this weekend - I think we have most of the heavy stuff done. We had an area approximately 40' x 100' that had become totally overgrown with nasty brambles, underbrush, saplings, mile-a-minute vine, etc. It was completely impassable. Last month, we finally had a contractor clear it, grade it, and apply topsoil and mulch. Since we're on a mountaintop, the soil is quite rocky and boulder-y. When grading it, the contractor pulled out a lot of rocks and boulders, so we had him place them around to make little rock garden areas. We also had some slate that he cut and used to make a winding path down to the bottom of the hill (our little tribute to Lombard Street in San Francisco). Now that it's been cleared, we've been planting it like crazy with perennials.

    Here's a close up of the chair area, looking back up the hill towards the cabin. That's the cabin at the top left of the picture. We plan to spend a lot of evenings sitting out there enjoying Mother Nature!

    We still want to plant some flowering trees, but digging holes in rocky/boulder-y soil is quite a project. A pry bar is an absolutely necessary part of gardening equipment. It may take us a few weeks to get holes big enough to plant a couple of small trees.

    With all this gardening, my shoulder has definitely been getting a workout. I have most of my strength back, but still working on ROM with the PT.

    Strength/flexibility class today. It's a nice weekly checkpoint to gauge my progress.

    How nice, Natsfan! That will be a lovely place to contemplate and relax. It reminds me of those meditation gardens you walk in.

    Lilac cute pic. Pat I am glad your husband found his way back. What was he doing in Nepal?

    Butterfly be vigilant and I dont think you will gain weight. I have been able to maintain my weight overall. I gained about four pounds last August and then it took me a few months to lose that but now I am back to where I started. It had nothing to do with the meds and everything to do with ice cream.

    Saturday I shopped for two hours. My feet hurt enough to call that exercise. Today was lawn mowing for 45 minutes. Sunday was a nature hike with my family. unfortunately I may have lost all my pictures except this one.

    But we did have a beautiful day.

    Butterfly. . .sorry just saw the post. I'm finally up to 3 miles per hour. I have a degenerated L5 disk from old injury so haven't been able to run for years. Hoping to get back to slow jogging. I also need to get back to hiking which has done wonders for strengthening my lower back.

    Nats I really like your rock path and garden. I need to do something like that with some of my pinestraw area, but I've spent my landscape budget for this spring.

    At the gym on the dreadmill. Today is mine and Dh's 24th anniversary. He swears he's cooking dinner when we get home from the gym.

    Congratulations Scottie! Did you get your dinner?

    Butterfly, I didn't gain weight (unless I ate too much). I think if you exercise religiously, then you will keep your metabolism up and weight stable. My theory is that most ladies who gain weight after menopause do so because they slow down, and I think it is probably the same for ladies taking anti-hormonals. Of the people I know personally who have done anti-hormonals; the skinny ones stayed skinny, the plump ones stayed plump, and those of us who have to work at it.......had to work at it.

    Ruth...gorgeous!!

    Slacked a bit last week with walking, but back on track. Got my Fitbit Alta HR for my birthday and still learning it. There are stairs around the corner from us that are probably equal to 3 flights of stairs and DH has gotten me into climbing them....5 repetitions yesterday and 6 today. Next time I need to count the number of steps.

    Went to brunch yesterday with Mom where she lives. Got a great picture of the two of us, one of the best pictures in several years. I

    4 weeks till I get to hug DD#2. :)

    Great scenery, TH and Ruth. Nats, what a lot of work. Very impressive and beautiful.

    Butterfly, I was able to lose some weight on Femara but it was hard work. It's also hard work to maintain on Tamoxifen although a study with mice fed a high-fat diet just came out showing that Tamoxifen prevented weight gain and mice were less likely to develop glucose intolerance, insulin resistance, and deposits of fat in the liver.

    Thanks all for feedback. Completed first full week of Arimidex with no SEs. Gym yesterday and yoga today. Getting less sore yeah

    I did a Denise Austin DVD called Body Burn, which had a dance & two pilates sections, also did some fun hip hop dances online with Marshall Fitness. Now I am off to get a tire changed & do some other errands. We are having a rainy day here.

    Did some arm toning and core work last night. After an eternity the sun is finally out today and the temp is perfect - just as the weatherman promised. Got all my clothes switched out. Taking cat to the vet in a little while for his annual. Then maybe a walk later.

    Hubby slowly adjusting to the time change. Think he picked up a bug too. He will gradually sort himself out. Twohobbies he was there hiking with a friend.

    Mary what a beautiful spot you have. Yes it is a lot of work, but so worth it.

    spin class every other day for 2 weeks now - I'm getting better each session! Feels sooo good to be drenched in sweat from a workout instead of medicine induced night sweats!!

    Annoying - impressive work spinning! Ruth - beautiful creek scene. Scottie - Happy Anniversary! Hope your DH cooked a great meal.

    I started back consulting at my old job today and had a meeting with my old boss to start the ball rolling. The meeting was only 45 minutes, but I was there for over 2 hours hugging and catching up with all my former co-workers! It was great seeing everyone.

    Hit the fitness center this morning before my meeting - elliptical, arm bike, and slow run on the treadmill. It feels good building up after the inevitable post-surgery deconditioning.

    Love seeing all the pictures. Lots of work NatsFan, take your time and don't overdo. Walk Away the Pounds tonight. Did 3 miles out of the total 5 others did. Did 90 minutes of pickleball yesterday. Knee okay but probably need to wrap it for awhile for all the weight bearing activities. Water Volleyball tomorrow.

    Walked to Dunkin and back this morning. Doing round two of laundry today and putting it up on the line outside. Figured I'd start early to beat the heat.

    Sitting in the cardiologist's waiting room for an echocardiogram and Ekg. Since the left breast was radiated they're checking to see that there was no heart damage. This was ordered by my PS in prep for my DIEP on 5/30. We will see if yoga and running has had any impact on the good ol ticker.

    Ruth pretty scenery there too. It looks pretty similar to mine.

    Summer heat here for a couple of days. Walked 43 minutes yesterday in 87 degree heat. Not sure if I am going tonight yet. it seems like it might be a good rest day.
