So sorry about the DH situation, badger. I am sure that it is 'no big deal', but still very disappointing. Sending a hug your way!
-
(((Badger)))) how devistating for you I'm so sorry, sending you a (((hug))). Octogirl what a beautiful photo, I'll bet you had a wonderful walk in the valley. Velvet I agree with the frozen water bottle and your stretching exercises, and orthotics are a must. Lol Ruth, I can tell spring is here because I am wearing flip flops to work instead of shoes and socks and I don't need a jacket when I go to the gym at night. Heidi I am a step together step person cause since the AIs I get dizzy when I turn but then sometimes I get caught up in the action and spin myself silly.
Tonight did a Grit Cardio and Body Pump Express and last night did Sprint and Sh'bam. -
Went for a walk in my neighborhood and then did my laundry and hung it out.
-
Thanks for the tips sweetandspecial and HoneyBeaw.
I keep hearing about the frozen water bottle. I was told to use one of those beaded bags(frozen) and to mold it to my foot. I have yet to figure out how to do that. I had my husband buy a small bottle of water when he went to the store this morning. It's in the freezer getting ready. I will give the bottle a try! I had a list of what to buy from the PA, so I have the beads, a heel sleeve for sleeping and orthotics. The heel sleeve drove me crazy. I can't sleep with anything on my feet, but it helps during the day. The orthotics are wonderful. I don't go barefoot-ever-so I tried them into my bedroom slippers. Felt wonderful! I'm sure they will help in my shoes. I don't wear heels anymore-haven't for years-but now I am told I can't wear flats or sandals. I guess I can live with that, but will I ever be able to go back to my exercise walking?
-
Badger - I totally understand! My DH is a property manger/owner there is 90+ properties and the majority of the tenants are those PYTs! They call him for everything! I'm like omg can they not even change a freakin' light bulb! I am still struggling with the new me. I have given myself a break until I am done with radiation. Then I am back to working on me! I am not in bad shape bit I could be in better. In the meantime here's my motto as long as DH comes home for dinner I don't care where he gets his appetite!
-
Badger, I don't blame you for feeling that way.
Varga, my motto is "he can look, but he'd better not even think of touching".
-
~Vargadoll & M0mmyof 2~
I never cared where he window-shopped (and no samples allowed) just as long as he knew what he wanted was at home. He tested it only once!
-
Precisely Velvet!!!! Mine has never even attempted to cross the line at all.
-
Hang in there Deb. Guys are gonna look at PYTs even if they've got a super model at home. Be mad for a while but don't let it get the best of you. I'm sorry for how you're feeling right now😘
Ran too late for body sculpt so did a full hour on the treadmill tonight. I think k I got in right around 25 total minutes in running segments so that's a big YAY!
-
Badger,
I know how you feel. I'm Not so bothered by the interest in porn; that started long before I ever came into the picture, but the way I feel about my body and sexuality has changed SO much thanks to BC. So it's like I'm not a help to the DHs hormones. Ugh. Sorry to hear you're down about it. You are loved, don't doubt it. -
Subbed today with two added perks: 1.The Student Council's Annual Staff Appreciation Lunch at noon (yum!) 2.Quite a few of the 8th grade boys I was supposed to teach were gone to a track meet and the day was much more peaceful without as much adolescent testosterone streaming through the air.
I took a Gorgeous Day walk after school and did some abs tonight.
I don't think looking at porn has anything at all to do with the desirability of one's partner. I think we women are too hard on ourselves......the men in our lives don't look as hunky as they did 30 years ago either (at least the man in my life doesn't....LOL). But hopefully we are all still learning and growing as human beings; becoming more beautiful from the inside out (that sounds sappy but is hopefully true).
-
Velvet - Vionic makes really pretty orthotic sandals, they are pricey $75 a pair, I have found them on sale at the end of summer and buy them and put them away, I buy mine directly from them online but I found a pair at DSW the other week.
Tonight did Sprint and CX Works.
-
Falconer & Octogirl, nice photos! Badger, hope you are getting to acceptance and Ruth is spot on: we are all still learning and growing as human beings; becoming more beautiful from the inside out. TW, how are you feeling this week? Vargadoll, wonderful to read that you finished radio. Cheryl, the next LM quarterly is here in Kent as was able to book for both Sat and Sunday in June to prep for BB 77. HeidiHill, like hearing about your salsa dancing says the women with two left feet. Husband got up early to fly off to Zurich for a meeting at 1pm and back tonight. Velvet, hope your plantar fasciitis resolves soon. Been busy this week, and teaching new Pilates class starting mid-day so I'd better get a move on it. Have a good start to the weekend everyone!
-
I've been having trouble maintaining regular exercise. AI-induced "everything-hurts-except-my-little-toe-joints" plus stiffness in the morning, plus increasing problems with lower back pain and sciatica (old problem that has flared now that I'm trying to rehab my body
Had to take a break from everything except short walks all last week. But --- attended yesterday's Senior Exercise Class, and just came back from today's early morning Pilates. Crossing fingers I can get some serious walking in over the next few days, and that I'm not too sore for Sunday afternoon Pilates...
My muscle strength varies so much, now at an embarrassing low after feeling like I'd made definite progress a month ago. One huge plus is that my LE doesn't really worsen no matter how much I do, thanks to sleeves/gloves :
-
Since we are getting rain today, I won't be able to get out for a walk. Guess my workout will be an indoor one today
-
I have come a long way, Lilacblue, on the road to developing a right foot. Hope your DH is not too exhausted from running around. Next time I could hand him some Zurich goodies for you so please tell me in advance.
tessu, that is a big, big plus. I also attended senior exercise classes for years and it was really helpful to me, especially to learn proper form and how to prepare your body for the different assaults it is about to experience. Injury prevention is key for us AI warriors.
-
spin class. I wish every class filled with 20yo was like spin where they dim the lights and you just workout as hard as you can with no judgement. Love it. Drenched in sweat for the first time in months. Felt so good!
-
Even though I thought I wasn't going to be able to get out for a walk today, I did get out for a walk despite the rain. Went when it wasn't so bad
-
Ladies thanks for the encouragement. Cheryl I particularly liked your reference about being a prizefighter. Especially since I got knocked in the head! Iwill just get back up one more time. Not tons of improvement but will discuss with doctor next week. Since my last check in here, I walked 30 minutes, mowed the lawn 26, and today a 20 minute walk.
Badger, hugs to you. We all struggle feeling good about ourselves so it hurts more. Try not to take it personally. Hopefully hes just looking.
-
Subbed in 'my' history class, which was very fun. I did an hour of spot toning with Denise Austin tonight and am sitting here with all the windows open enjoying the fresh air. Happy Friday!
-
Hi Everyone! A friend was asking which online yoga classes were best. I don't know but I thought I'd ask here.
Went to real time yoga class this morning, then ran errands with the DH and the littlest one. Coming out of the bank and back into the car, my DH told me I was beautiful. Now, doesn't that little bit help you through?
I did laugh, Ruth, when you said men's bodies don't quite hold up after thirty years either. And yes, we all do grow and change.
Keep being beautiful, ladies. Don't doubt it. -
Visited a local wooded nature area that I haven't been to for years. The paths were still mostly iced over, so it was slow going, and we only walked "a bit". What a surprise to check my steps app later and see we clocked over 7,000 steps, even though it didn't feel like that much
-
Finally got a break from the rain so I might get out and get grass trimmed down around places where hubby can't get the lawn mower in
-
Yea, Falconer, a compliment makes one's day! Yesterday, I had a number of 7th grade girls tell me that they LOVED my hair (I just got a color & a little different cut on Wednesday) so I felt quite pleased myself
(I will pass on the good reviews to my hairdresser, since she is in charge of the magic!). This morning, I went to early-bird yoga this morning, came home, opened all the windows and have been cleaning ever since. As soon as the load of clothes in the dryer is done; I will do errands, have coffee with my old friend at the nursing home, try to walk two dogs (a friend of mine is out of town, just for the day, so I said I'd go over & check on her little yippy dogs), buy groceries, and then do nothing else (I hope!). Maybe if I fling my lovely hair around, DH will take me out to dinner......or maybe if I skip the grocery store so that there actually is no food in the house......

DS and DIL are home for the weekend. While the boys were out turkey hunting DIL and I went to the gym. I got in 60 minutes on the treadmill. Ten minute warmup walk followed by 40 minutes alternating 1-minute run/walk segs. Worked up from 5mph to 6mph and ran final segment at 7mph followed by cool down. Just took long hot shower (ahhhhhh-the bliss) and am cuddling with grandpups on the sofa.
Beautiful cool sunny day in West Michigan. DH mowed the lawn on Thursday so I feel ok vegging just a bit after a long workweek and a good workout. Laundry is going and I'm gonna google interesting simple desserts to celebrate 40 years since our first date tonight. May 6, 1977 Sadie Hawkins dance our sophomore year in high school 💑.
Stay strong my beautiful friends!
-
So nice of DH, Falconer. Congrats to you and your high school sweetheart DH, Sweet.
Did Zumba on YouTube. Plus some free weights.
-
Well couldn't get to weed whacking today. If it's nice tomorrow I will do it then
-
Badger. . .hugs. I'm with Vargadoll. My Dh probably looks twice at PYTs, but then I look plenty at Jamie Frasier aka Sam Hueghan from the Outlander series. This whole BC process wrecks havoc on us. I have even worse scars from this 3rd surgery and this time they'll definitely show in the swimsuit. You should be very proud of all those steps and keeping up your exercise.
VelvetPoppy (luv the name) lol.
Exercise this week was mostly managing 48 hrs of work after 6-week surgery recovery. I did manage the dreadmill twice and we walked about the Botanical Gardens one night.
Nats. . .you can always turn off or fast forward the more violent parts but I highly recommend a yearly dose of Jamie Fraser. Dd and I watch it together. Total window/TV shopping.
Scottie
-
Did a little weeding today and a 45 minute walk, and thentoo exhausted to do anything else but take a hot shower and get on my jammies.
-
Scottie, I am guilty of that too. My tastes run more to Chris Hemsworth or Mark Harmon (yum, yum)!
Well slap me with a cat toy three times, the sun is out!!!!! Looks like I will get the yard work done today that I couldn't yesterday. Had to get a new spark plug for the lawn mower yesterday.
