Cathi...thank you for the good wishes ... I just couldn't believe it when I saw her for myself this a.m. She just whimpered and held her arms out to me...about broke my heart.
(((((((((((((hugs to all)))))))))))))) NO HOUSEWORK TODAY!!! YOOOO WHOOO
-
Ah Arnie, thanks for updating us! Two sick babies in one day is two too many!
Cathi, I think a water gun that shoots around the corner is amazing! But lookout!
Did Ed put the mouth-balls out? ehhehehehe
-
Well dd woke up from her nap free from the headache but still isn't quite back to her usual tornado status so glad I kept her home for now.
Linda I always feel better when that 24 hr window has passed too. Was it a hematoma that he had maybe?
Awww arnie, bless her little heart. Warn dd that the steroids might make her a bit more tempermental over the next few days so to be a little forwarned that some extra patience might be in order.

Hi Mom,
No it was a hyphema. I am trying to copy something that explains it. VERY scary to have gone through that. You can actually see the blood in their eye!
Overview
Hyphema is a term used to describe bleeding in the anterior chamber (the space between the cornea and the iris) of the eye. It occurs when blood vessels in the iris bleed and leak into the clear aqueous fluid. Hyphemas are usually characterized by pooling of blood in the anterior chamber that may be visible to the naked eye. The red blood cells of very small hyphemas are visible only with magnification. Even the slightest amount of blood in the anterior chamber will cause decreased vision when mixed in the clear aqueous fluid.
Bleeding in the anterior chamber is most often caused by blunt trauma to the eye. It may also be associated with surgical procedures. Other causes include abnormal vessel growth in the eye and certain ocular tumors.
YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad I paid attention and brought him to the ER!
-
Linda that reminds me one time when I went to work in this small hospital in Southern Illinois and I was called to do a stat respiratory treatment on a surgical patient. When I walked into the room I had to supress a gasp because the guys head from the neck up looked like something from a comic strip. I don't know what the heck the surgeon did to him in surgery but his face was bulging this purple/red and even as I stood there giving him a treatment , the white of his eyes were being streaked with blood vessels popping up all over. He looked like he was going to explode at any moment. Never in all my career did I witness something like that before or since. Thankfully the guy made it but I often wondered if his face ever got back to normal. I could only take working there a little longer, it was a nut house of a hospital. Stephen King could have gotten some good material for one of his movies from it. Wouldn't want to ever work in a place like that again.
-
Oh my goodness!!! Arnie I have NEVER seen anything like that!! Poor baby!!! I'm praying that it's much better by now. I'm sure dd will remember what kind of antibiotic caused this. I think that's the worse allergic reaction I've ever seen. Just breaks my heart!!! ((((((((((((((gentle hugs for Lilah)
Mom I'm glad to see your dd is doing better. Does she have a knot on her head? There was a little boy in my Sunday School class that hit his head. It caused two black eyes and each week, we could see the black/blueness going further down his face.
Hope Elaine is having a good afternoon with Faith and Julz. Been thinking 'bout you gals all day. Hope you're living it up!!! I think it would be so neat to meet other sistahs!!
I've been working on my pool today. Thought about you Makraz. We took the cover off yesterday, and it's horrible looking. The water is sewage-looking green. I went to get chemicals and a new pool vac. I took a pic and then I'll take another one when it clears up. It's amazing what 3 days of chemicals will do.
Big hugs to all!!! Hope you all are having a great afternoon.
-
Mom, It is strange how the body reacts to things. My son was out of school for 2 weeks and had to lie still on the couch to get the bleeding to stop. Not easy for a boy with ADHD. I had to take him to the opthamologist every day for 3 weeks, including Sat and Sun so they could monitor the bleeding and determine when it stopped, and make sure it didn't start up again. It was not a fun time in my life. He was in the second grade, now is in the fourth and talks about playing football! Over my dead body!!
-
Yikes, haven't read everything but seems some kids are in trouble. Gentle hugs and hoping all are on the mend ASAP, or sooner.
I hit my head hard (doing housework I might add) a few weeks ago. And I mean a real cracker, likely should have gone to the Dr. Anyway, about 5 days after I had this hollow sound in my head when I chewed or touched it. (NO JOKES PLS.
) It finally went away but it leaves me wondering a bit........wth was THAT??
Ya, I'd not be much of a fan of my kids playing football either. Lucky for the human race though, I didn't have children.
-
OH MY GOODNESS...Makraz...I've never heard of that before! Yikes... so glad it turned out ok. My ds has ADHD too, was quite the character when he was younger! lol Gave me a run for my money...Ha! Has turned into quite a good young man
Sharon! That is scary...really what was with that??? Glad you're ok now... (no jokes
)
Update on little Lilah...Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes...dh stopped over there after work and called to tell me that the hives have started to recede and she's more like herself!
YEAH!
Just got back from the look better feel better seminar...it was fun. Got alot of makeup... ha!
I only wear mascara and lip gloss, maybe a little blush...sooooo I don't know what I'll do with the rest of this stuff.. lol
DIDN'T DO A STITCH OF HOUSEWORK TODAY!!! AND DH BOUGHT DINNER! MY KIND OF DAY...LOL
-
Hey Arnie......good news............all the way around.
I wear lipstick when I remember.
-
-
HOUSEWORK-SHMOUSEWORK
-
Arnie,
WHen I went to the seminar, I got makeup, which I gave to my sister. I also got a lot of moisturizers which I loved. One bottle was from channel and cost over 100.00! It's amazing that they just give it away!
Yes, adhd boys are difficlut, I've got two! That's why I am now a stay at home mom!
Ann-idiot, I agree!
-
Welcome Ann....just in case you didn't receive the proper welcome. And if you did, well, I'm sorry....sometimes I have chemobrain....But anyhoo........we're glad you're here. Make yourself at home.
-
Ann...if that's the way you feel about housework...you fit right in here! lol
-
Ann, there are rules you might want to know:
1) You only have to do ONE thing a day
2) If you DO more than one thing a day (why would you?), you get to bank it for tomorrow!
3) Therefore, you will always be "doing housework" while you're chatting online
4) Treatments and yard work, doctors appointments and groceries are all one thing EACH
Welcome
-
Well dd is doing good and we are past the 24hr mark so I think she is fine and I'm so thankful for that.
Welcome Ann as you can see we only pretend to be a housework thread.
Arnie glad to hear your little one is better too. (those lips look too real!)
Sharon I knocked my head a good one on a light fixture we have that is heavy as lead, just about made me see stars too. Its not a good feeling and you are right you should have seen the doc. My family practice physician said she knew a doctor who hit his head and didn't tell anyone, wound up dying from it a while later. Of course she was telling me that because I had mentioned hitting my head on the light, sure made me feel good. (not!!!)
Coonie how's it feel to have your dd back home? I don't know about you but I run for cover on those hormone days. Of course dh probably felt like that about me back in my pms times. I think my hormones hit the road after my surgery.
Well I have a roasted chicken with vegetables in the oven so have dinner underway. If the rain ever lets up I have a few more veggies to plant in my patio garden. I am having so much fun doing this. I came in with a handful of new plants today and announced that I had okra to which my 9 yr old pipes up with "really mom you have Oprah with you?" I had to laugh at that one.
-
Do I get to include nursing the injured as my one thing Barbe.
-
Well, I told my family we're having home grown wieners for supper tonight. It's a special called "Hot Dogs" They seem pretty excited about it. I will give them a vegetable with it though....potatoes......french fries, cut up into small pieces and fried in shortening......yummmmm
Ok........that's about it for my healthy recipe. So glad the babies are on the mend. I hate it when little ones are hurting. My heart goes out to you mothers with small children.
And yes, It's hard having a grown daughter move back in. You have a place for everything, and everything has a place, then NOTHING has a place ANYWHERE. aaaggghhhhhh HELP!!!
-
Night night everyone, have just caught up with your news and now off to bed, got the shakes again tonight and volunteering at a long school event tomorrow.
Mom, hope you have your girl feeling herself again by morning. (My brother has a permanent brain injury from accident at work so am always extra worried with any head blows). It's amazing how much kids manage to sail through thow. You are quite right to keep an extra keen eye.Glad the head aches gone.
Arnie, glad your little grand daughter is mending. hug.
right these shakes.. got to go.
Nighty night Coonie, welldone with keeping up with the great Welcome messages!
Please take good care all. Be good to yourselves!
Shiny
-

Take care.
Shiny
-
Nighty night Shiny Sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite. We will see yo on the other side at the top of the morning for you:) ((((((((((((((huggies))))))))))))))0
-
Mom, treating a sick child is 10x more than housework! You done good!
Coonie! I think saying you'll see Shiny "on the other side" isn't really appropriate
, you had me scared! I thought something was happening that I didn't know about!
-
Ok Barbe,
Bless, just to clarify! I get the shakes, like silly shattered shakes sometimes at night. Nothing spooky.. that I know of?!?!Coonie?
I just typing at a snails pace, an feel rough. but on the up side, got the paper work inviting me to participate in an accupuncture random trial ,for accupuncture as a help for chemo fatigue. Sure hope I get in the "you'll get some accupuncture" group!
Right. off to bed!
Take care, Thanks for the concern Barbe! hehe
BTW: Connie, i will gladly take the huggies, from you, thanks.. but the word huggies remind me of Nappies!
-
Oh Shiny! I hope the accupuncture does the trick! Wouldn't that be stupid to be in a trial and sit there and be with the ones that didn't get the treatment! Doi ! I've heard very positive things about accupuncture though it didn't work for my neck and back, too much damage I guess, but I went with an open mind, 2 or 3 times. They even hooked up electricity to the needles and it made my muscles twitch and my fingers go up and down! hehehehehe
You won't feel a thing.......
-
thanks Barbe,
Now tell me off and tell me to GO TO BED!
Shiny
-
(((((((((((((hugs shiny))))))))))))))))))) wish we were all on the same time so we would have more time to chat together.
-
Shiny! Go to bed!
That was my "mommy voice" so you have to go before I have to come over there and make you!
hehehehehe I'd LOVE to!
Gentle, good-night hugz
