Helloooo, or I should say Night Night!
It is 23:59 pm, so am off to bed. Just wanted to reasure the likes of Coonie and Mum that I stopped spinning by the time i'd cooked dinner. It was just 2 drinks!! It's just funny though how "pipsy" I felt for a while. he he.
Sure hope Foots and Mum are feeling beta. Well, guess you must be feeling beta mum if you are up to making me a cuppa! (hope am up to date, did have to do some quick scanning to catch up! )
BTW: My little robins have flown off!! in the last 24 hours we think. My DH went in the shed and found no trace of them. Empty nest and nothing left behind. I felt a sadness at first as we though they might have been "munched" by an Owl or what ever, but then we went on the web and found they take about 2 week to be ready to fly off.. so we hope that is why they are gone as it's been about that.
Bestest vibes crossing the ocean and your way ladies.
Nighty night

When you work with your hands you are a labourer.
When you work with your hands and your head you are a craftsman.
When you work with you hands and your head and your heart, you are an artist!
NO website, and I'M the one who's soft and organic!
-
about being soft and organic! lol
I like your definition of an artist! My career was in Histology, (study of tissue). I worked mostly at hospitals and private labs with Pathologists. I always found it very artistic...the different organ sections on the slides and the way I stained them...made very interesting patterns.
I do love being at home though, up until my dx I took care of the grandbabies two times a week.
I love working with my hands head and heart Barbe, so we have a lot in common
-
We do ! Arnie, we do !
-
Barbe,
Do you miss your quilt store? I have been calling stores all over to try to find some fabric collections I saw in magazines. Have discovered that stores don't all carry the same things and I need to buy the stuff I like WHEN I SEE IT and not wait because once it's gone, it's gone and not usually reordered. I Love the feeling of fabric and have way more than I am ever going to use but can't seem to part w/any of it. I love to make the quilts for people but then I buy more fabric. I guess I could have worse vices. So thankful DH loves me as much as he does. I'd be in trouble if he didn't.
Do you speak at any of the big "sewing gatherings" or just quilt guilds? Wish I belonged to one, I would love to hear you. Take care.
Blessings,
Wendy

Whew shiny glad to hear the spinning has stopped! Thats why I would never drink I hate that feeling. But here's a little something for you for the morning.

Hi all,
wow, this thread does move fast.I read as much as I can. I am typing ok now, stitches out and healing nicely. I haven't done my housework since the surgery, but I must start to, tho I can't lift anything for another 4 weeks...so I am limited to what I can do.
Welcome,CarolMarie.
ok just wanted to jump back in...will keep in touch daily.
-
-
Candie don't do any housework till the doc gives the okay. Glad to see you back on too.

Anyone watching dancing with the stars right now?
-
Nawwww....fixing to vacuum mom
-
Step away from that vaccuum Coonie... I'm tellin' ya they're dangerous! LOL
Mom2two... have never watched it...know alot of people who love it though...
-
Nite arnie!
-
I'm a fabric-a-holic as well, Wendy.
As vices go, I figure it's one that's "acceptable." My guild presentations have been to smallish ones -- on my travels, have probably spoken to about a dozen groups. One guild had nearly a hundred in attendance that night.
Arnie gets the award for the fastest addiction to the posting of graphics.
wowow did she learn fast...........

Hey ladies, guess what I did? got my dates and day mixed up. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is my mammo and dr visit. Got myself up and ready to head off and realized it was Monday and not Tuesday... chemo brain, old age, psd, craft, whatever... Then the phone rang reminding of my appointments "tomorrow"...
I changed into grubbies, got caught up on emails, paid bills, straightened my closet, decided not to go out in the rain, sorted out magazines, played jigsaw puzzles on the puter, watched tv and am back here to give hugs, smilies, good wishes, and prayers for everyone.
This has to be one of the most active threads on the site. 3 pages to catch up with everyone.
-
So it's tomorrow tomorrow for Nancy everybody!!! Sending prayers and good thoughts along with your appointment. Let us know as soon as you hear anything1!
-
I didn't do housework today (well except laundry) but I started my patio garden. I'm planting tomatoes, zucchinni, broccoli, cabbage, cucumber, strawberries and even a watermelon plant in big old pots on the back porch. Who knew removing boobies could bring out the inner gardener in me.
-
Barb, Here's a ribbon for you! Your won First Place for all the great advice and humor that you bring to these threads!
Maybe you like Trophys better???
Thanks for caring, advising and entertaining us!!
Linda
-
We'll be thinking of you tomorrow Nancy!! Good luck!!
-

Take care and have a restful night. Debbie
-
Debbie, I hope this helps with the bills!
-
You girls are too funny! Arnie, great pix! Beautiful family.
You'll notice I'm up very late because I've been working on an art project. And amazingly enough, my first finished piece fits right in here!
The title of this is "Diagram." I just need to tuck some Photoshop dollar bills into the hemi-cleavage.
This means I haven't done much housework because, I confess, art always trumps housework.
I don't have dust bunnies anymore. I have dust gorillas.
-
Awww Kathi, now I'm jealous you found fancier mastectomy bras than I did! Very poignant piece of art too.
-
Wonderful Kathi! We do similar work. I once did a piece entitlted "The Scream" and around and around the bloody centre I wrote "If a women screams in the middle of her life and no one hears her, did she really feel the pain?" I had the husband of one of my customers stand in front of it and keep saying "What are you trying to say? What are you trying to say?" ehhehehehe I like to make people think!
Yes, I miss the fabric! But once when I was battling a health issue I looked up Lupus or something and one of the 10 questions to ask yourself is "Do you work near/or with fabric?" Wow, made me think of all the gassing off of plastic wrapped fibrous packages!
Mom, what are you doing up so early?
(Thanks for the ribbons....I LOVE them!)
-
KAK cool pic, now GO TO SLEEP!
-
Good morning ladiesNice diagram KAK...love the lacey stuff
Men...they just don't get it do they barbe...to funny! That's the same reason I quit working in Histology also, fumes. Xylene, formaldehyde, etc.etc. I often wonder....hmmmm not gonna go there...
Coonie .... did you take my advice last night and put that vaccuum away?
lol
-
Good morning gals,
I am tending to things around the house slowly. Trying to keep things straightened up so it doesnt get out of control. This is the fastest thread....see what the word housework does?? lol
I have been tackling my bedroom, rearranging it, getting tired of it. But I do just a lil every day so as not to abuse my arm. The, I sit and go through old paperwork that needs shredding and organizing my arts and crafts. A lil at a time with everything and then I feel like I am at least trying to accoplish something.
Mom, love your garden idea. I do mine in pots too as I only have a cement yard. I have a flower garden in the front of the house but in the back I plant tomatoes, radishes, lettuce, spinach in big pots. It certainly does the trick.
Have a great day to all!! Good luck for mammo,Nancy!! I love that you got ready a day prior...so glad I am not the only one with all those same symtoms you have....lol.
