Can we have a maroon colored blanket, a few hanging plants while we're there?
-
Hey Cathi, I got an idea. Why don't we all meet up at your beach and we can all show up in our mastectomy/reconstruction breast to make a statement for breast cancer awareness this summer
Think that would make the headline news?
-
You got it dude!
-
-
I STILL WUV YOU - Even though you started it first - LOL
-
-
Mom -did you know there is a National Go Topless Day August 23, 2009. I was just googling for the heck of it and came across gotopless.org.
So who wants to pay my bail money??????
-
I'm in on any boob guerilla action!
-
Cathi, glad you got some "hosework" done, heheheheh
2new1s, you were just "boob" hooing, totally understandable. No need to apologize!
That mom has an awfully clean, straight mastectomy scar! I remember reading about her before my mast. She was approached by the life guards, they walked around her trying to figure out if she was breaking a rule or not, and then finally left her alone. Good for her!
-
I love the mastectomy mom!!! Of course I wouldn't look like that because I have a boob left. Not sure what they would do with me.
NO housework here today either. No reason or excuse. Just no housework doing. Don't feel like it.
2new1s- sorry you have to wait. Patience is not my thing either. Let it all out here. That's what we are here for! (((hugs)))
The rest of you are just cracking me up with these pictures.
But I was already cracking up anyway. The wig arrived today. Hard to tell because I still have hair, but I like it! But I was cracking up putting it on. Totally looks like a wig to me!

Well I am back from the garage sales! I bought DD: 14 brand name spring/summer outfits, a terry cloth robe/cover up for poolside, and a book all for $14.75! Not a bad deal huh? Then we went to return a few things at Babies R Us and I ended up getting her six more outfits and a pair of slip on pink Converse gym shoes - they are just too cute! Not saying how much I spent! Too much! Little girl clothes are way too adorable for me to resist.
Needless to say I am feeling a bit better about the delay for my surgery. Nothing like shopping therapy right? Even if I didn't spend a penny on myself - DD is worth every penny. Can't shop for DS without him - too fussy at his age about what he wears.
Thank you all for listening to me "foob" hooing! Good one Barbe! : ) I am thankful that I have somewhere to vent and know that you ladies can relate on some level whether you did reconstruction or not. Our body image is still an issue regardless.
Someone mentioned going shopping for a bathing suit? As of now I couldn't not submit myself to that image in the mirror! I have a beautiful suit I bought from QVC last year & I love it. Too afraid to even look at it right now.
Going to lay down DD for her nap and I am taking a pain pill (sore from fill yesterday & too much lifting DD today), then I am going to watch a movie "Seven Pounds". Not even sure what it's about, but girl at video store said it was awesome.
I am telling DH & DS that we are ordering food for dinner tonight - I am officially taking the day off! Who's with me on that??????????
-
Barbe I was thinking the same thing about her scar line, proably no rads before surgery??? Mine does not go straight across from one side to the other BS left a small gap in between each side INCASE I ever decided to reconstruct said I would be able to get some clevage that way - never had any with the real deal - LOL. My scars are actually pretty smooth and look good in my book, its just the lumpy bumpies on the L (rads) that are yucky looking.
Anyway I did empty dishwasher, take Margo for a walk, checked the mail, did some "real work" and now I think I am done for the day.
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Gosh 2new1s - I miss yard sales! In my neighborhood are nothing but young couples and every yard sale has the same thing - toys and baby clothes! I do go to this awesome auction that is held every other Sunday in Maryland (close to other relatives).
The only problem with auctions is you have to wait for the item you are interested in to come up and competition for that item. Yard sales are faster and no competition - first come first served
I have even been known to dumpster dive - nothing like something for free!
-
Would you believe my house is finally what I would call officially clean and it only took me 2 months to get it that way! To think I use to be able to do this in just a few hours and it was done. Now its like been forever getting it caught up.
I think getting rid of alot of the extra stuff really helped. Now if I can resist bringing things back in. My new motto is keeping it simple and really evaluating whether I need something before I bring it back in the house. Now if we can only keep it this way for more than an hour.
-
You are all so productive! I only colored my short hair blonde and got a new tattoo...not such a productive day....but a good one in my book.
-
I LOVE your new tattoo! It inspires me to get one...
Mom, does that mean you're shutting down this thread? NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Great shopping 14new1s !!!
-
Cathi, come to Ontario Canada........women are permitted to go topless here all year long. So when I do a quick run by the window half naked.......I need not worry about the authorities.
-
You don't have to worry about the authorities Sharon, just the crazy Americans who come up here to peep!
-
Uh-oh I will not tell my 16 year old son that women can go topless in Ontario!!!!!!!!!!!! He will be running there ASAP!!!!!!!
-
2new1s........we are PERMITTED to go topless. It was just some women making a point. I've not seen (or looked for) any bare breasts.
-
To be honest........some men should keep their chests covered.........which was part of the point of it all.
-
For sure there are men on the beach everyday who have bigger boobs then I ever had -YUCKY!!!!!!!! I am coming to Canada - we can all go together. I am originally from NY and I guess it is now legal there as well.
-
Barbe don't think this thread would shut down now even with my housework done finally. Its taken on a life of its own!
Besides with my 9 year old its only a matter of hours before I'm moaning how messy the house is again.
Sharon the Canadian government probably allows it because they know its too cold up there to want to go topless. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
-
Good thing Mom. I just cancelled my plane ticket for Lexington KY. I was coming to find your house and mess it all up for you!
-
I don't know about that Linda, you may want to hold that trip. They just announced on the news that a man from here has that swine flu. The only place he had traveled to was Alabama and he thinks he got it from there. He has children and the whole family is at home and quarantining themselves to make sure no one else gets it. I heard a microbiologist say this flu lacks some part that makes it difficult to replicate so they think that might keep the cases down. I hope so.
-
Ok, I'm staying here, although I don't think here is any better. Harvard Medical school has a cluster of swine flu! Ugh. My dh works close by there and takes the commuter rail to and from work. This is getting scary. My biggest fear: They close the schools! I'm going to need Faith to come and stay with me to entertain the kids!!
-
Mom, you took the words right outta my mouth! Oh, sure, go topless in Ontario! In February -- not!!
Okay, Linda, I'll be glad to use your plane ticket to KY so mom and I can go to the Derby tomorrow!!! Mom, I have a new big floppy straw hat to wear!
Ladies, I actually just finished writing a post on my blog about how long it's taken me to get up the gumption to even think about doing housework! Mom, two months isn't bad. It's taken me four months to feel like I'm up to thinking about doing anything! (the blog is at www.accidentalamazon.com) I'd MUCH rather go shopping any day!
-
OK Kathi, I'll drop my boys off at TF Green with their tickets, and they will have an extra for you! Have a great weekend!
-
Okay, all, here's the latest in face masks to combat swine flu. This one is dressed up in Clinique High Impact Lipstick.
