Good morning everybody! Hope all of you are expecting to have a great day!
Mom I'm so very very sorry about your migraine. I tried to post a happy dance, but I still can't do it from my computer at work and I didn't even log on after I got home last night. I hope it's better this morning.
Makraz is that pool full yet? Do you use the fire hydrant to fill it? We've done that before. It goes faster. The water looks yucky at first, but once the chemicals are added, it looks better. You're gonna have a house full of kids all summer:)
Welcome Sunkistmi if I haven't already done so. I can't remember if I've seen you post on this thread before. If it's your first time, we're so glad you're joining us. It's a great bunch!! We "talk" about housekeeping alot more than we actually "do" housekeeping ....lol
Nana you are very talented. I love the drawings!!! Lucky grandchildren!!!
Faithie!!! Ooooooohhh GF.....DH is a little sneaky thing, isn't he? I know you are sooooooo HAPPY he's home!!! Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Sure am glad you got those sheets changed for all that "sleeping" ya'll needed to catch up on......hehelol
Maybe you can get some good naps in today too.........
Arnie you better take it easy girl. Even if you're feeling good at the time, if you overdo things, you'll pay for it later. Be good to yourself.......This is YOUR time to take things slow...let others do for you:)
(((((((((((((big hugs to all who need them)))))))))
-
Thanks Coonie... hope you have a good day at work!!! (((((((Hugs)))))) We both know that faithandfifty's gonna have a good day...
LOL
-
Arnie..........great dog pic. Coonie, that's like Wally's tail........only all brown. It never stops wagging either.
-
ROTFL.........but that dog has a POINT on the end of his tail
-
-
Thanks Sharon...love dogs sooooo much...thought it was cute too. Coonie, shame, shame...lol
-
OOOOOOOh, Mom, what a KEE-YOOT photo of Coonie & her family!
2new1s, for a mere human, you are a beauty. Great family!
Sharon, LOLOLOLOLOL!!! Yes, the toilet is backwards, just to add to the whole thing.l
Mumayan, one sure-fire way to clean large portions of the house is to give away your children, so you were on the right thread after all.
Cheryl, wonderful drawing! Do you work as an illustrator? Your style would be absolutely wonderful for children's books! some of my favorite artists are children's book illustrators.
CarolMarie & everybody who has a birthday this year (that covers everyone, doesn't it?? also means we all have the whole year off from housework if we want), this is me showing off a tad because I had to demonstrate that Faith is not crazy to trust me to help her with this computer stuff. So, here's a little animation I made for one of my friend's B-Days last year, drawn in Illustrator, frames made in Photoshop, finished in ImageReady. Pencil?? What's that????
Linda, if I start driving north now, will your pool be filled when I get there?
Mom & all Headache Sufferers, I will massage for cake, and I'm darn good at helping my patients get rid of headaches. So.....just letting you know. Could plan a road trip.
Rots of Ruv to everyone (been hanging out with my dog today).

WOWOWOW. KAK.
I knew you had talent, but wow!
I have learned how to animate my power-point, so I have monkeys that jump on cue and brontosaurus that stomp to the beat, but what you've done is really awesome.
Way to go.
do you remember that old 'press-type' with those rub off letters?? that's what we used in my design classes, back in the last century. LOL.
-
Oooooooh, now, Faith, you're talking my language. Good golly, I could write a history of graphic design, layout and paste-up, I swear. I remember manual typewriters and mimeograph machines!!! Remember those??? I'll never forget that smell as long as I live. I used to work for a manufacturers rep who sold PressType and Letraset, for goodness' sake!! It was my job to go around to all the art supply stores and restock the racks! Ah, sigh. Remember when cut-and-paste really was cut and paste??

Hi everyone!
BESTEST WISHES FOR YOU ALL TO HAVE A PEAAAAACHY DAY!!
O.k you know I have not quite mastered the whole animated sparling lovely pics messages that you all seem to find on the web, but just wanted to send some good wishes out there to you all, how ever plainly!
I have been silly busy with stuff to do with my son's special needs ed and preparing for his transfer to his new school in September. When it gets to these points, it take over lots of my time, but I really want to stay in touch with you all. xx
Mum, I sure hope that your migrane is dissipating!! You can't do anything with a migrane. Hope you are getting some help.
Coonie, I saw a tv show all about raccons with the kids before their story time tonight. Gosh they were cute and sure made me think of you. Hope you are doing o.k. Any shopping in our fav shop this week? aaahh
I went shopping to the V and A museum in London then shopping in Harrods with my cous from Canada yesterday.
Initially I thought i'd be good and just buy a few tid bits, which I did, a few boxes of tea for a friend at Harrods and a few little knick naks for the kids..I was very nearly out of the door, when this man at the Benifits cosmetic counter approached me with a hand full of their makeup, asking me if I wanted to try some...... ohhh I just happen to LOVE their stuff, ahh! I thought, oh gosh, help! I implored my cousin to support me in my quick escape, but no! instead, she sits me down in the make up man's guest chair..and before you know it I've bought 2 products. (it's quite expensive by my "mom at home" standards!). Still, it was lovely to have him brush my face with lovely make up, oh I could have fallen asleep in the chair..ZZZ When I "awoke" somehow, I found myself tentatively agreeing to coming back for a "free" make up lesson.. after my nipple x2 tatooing appointment in 2 weeks! (like I am going to be up to that!). Still,it will make my train fare to london seem better value if I fit in the make up session right??? hummm
Silly me!
Do hope you are all peachy !! Take care of ourselves.

Oh, Shiny! You are making me positively yearn for a trip to London!
-
Goodness sakes yes. Rubber cement. Rubber cement erasers. PressType & Letraset.
Those were the golden years. I bet I still have some of those sheets. Probably all curled up by now. LOL. What an art it was, back in the day.
Shiny. I've been to V&A Museum and Harrod's as well, a handful of times. I think your fare into the city should certainly include pampering yourself in any way you prefer!!
I wish you well getting your son settled into his new situation. Those transitions are a challenge to child & family alike.
BIG HUGS.

Thanks Faith for your wishes,
I know you know more then most about that stuff.
We are very blessed that he is currently in an excellent school full of love and hard working imaginative fun people. The school he is moving to is just next door, but a new school and he will have new helpers and there is loads for them to learn. Loads for him to adjust to also. I am going to tribunal to reinstate what the local authority is trying to take away to save a bit of money (in his educational package) but that is not until october, so I am trying to get all on board with continuing the training liaison and input until I WIN at tribunal, again. It's a big part of our lives, but so worth it. Doing everything I can to prepare and support the schools and staff, and my kids, at it will affect them both. The new helpers are coming here after school to meet him on Thursday and have tea with us, so if you don't mind, send some good vibes my way!

Shiny. Here in the states, the 'advocacy' always falls back to the parents to safe-guard their children that have special needs. We have many wonderful programs and parameters to provide, but it is always the parents who must speak loud and strong and often to be certain that all that is possible is being provided.
At the school where I worked for a decade, where I now go once a month, there is an enormous effort made to help the families with transition to their new setting. My heart is with you as you meet those who will be providing the direct care and education for your son.
Feel free to blow off steam here, when ever you need to vent.
I promise I'll be sending some good vibes your way.... every day, but especially on Thurs.

Thanks again Faith.
I am very fortunate that I am quite well equiped for advocating for my son, in terms of confidence and knowledge. Basically as long as I know it is a just cause, nothing is an obstacle too big, so that comes in handy.I also get trained up officially in all the main strategies which we emply at home and school. That helps me make a better impact in meetings with officials and proffesionals. I try to help other families and encourage them to be proactive and positive, there is always so much that can be done to make a difference. I do feel for the parents who are less aware or very timid, it makes it so much harder. Ok, I will stop now, I do get carried away with this topic!
Right, just so people don't think they stumbled onto a special needs thread..
I kept up with the laundry, hoovered and did a general tidy and the beds. gosh, days go too fast!
night night madames.

I have to brag that on top of feeling like crap with the flu all day, I did three loads of my DS's laundry. My rule usually is, if you don't bring it to me, I won't wash it! But the smell from his room was awful! On top of that, I replaced all of the pictures in my picture frames all over our house! If you remember, I just had like 400 pictures developed. DH has been home from work for hours and has not even noticed that all the pictures are different! Too funny! If any of you remember around xmas time I took the tree down and he didn't notice that either! No wonder he doesn't notice that I have one foob! LOL
-
2new1's...As I read your posting..about how your DH doesn't notice things..before I got to the end of your post I thought "I'll bet he doesn't even notice the missing foob!". Then I read your last line and chuckled to myself. I am sure he's a super DH!!
-
Too funny 2new1s. Typical male! Once with my first husband, we went to visit my step-mom and dad. When she opened the door she commented on my new haircut. My husband looked at me surprised. Then she commented on the fact that he had shaved his mustache off! I looked at my husband like a deer-in-headlights. I hadn't noticed! (I guess I was down to the "I don't care" level by then)
I did dishes and nothing else today, BUT, I did sell my gold jewelry that was lying around to a company that melts it down. I got $1,840 for it! Woo hoo!
-
Coonie - The pool is not quite full yet. We had a truck come last night with 12,000 gallons of water. Now it's up to me to fill the rest with my hose. We have a well so it takes a LONG time. I ran the well dry today twice! I have to do it again tomorrow and the next day at least. I wish it would rain like 5 inches tonight!! No hydrants or town water. I live in the sticks!!
KAK unfortunately not. Leave on Friday and there may be hope.
My pool is an above ground because I hate pools and want to get rid of it when the kids leave. It's large for an above ground, 32 feet by 16 feet. Keeps the kids busy. My youngest son was in it today while I was filling it. No chemicals or anything in the water yet, but he dove in! He's crazy.
Tried to attach a pic of him, but no go!
-
Good morning ladies!
-
Yabba dabba doo! Another day!!
I have done 2 loads of laundry, made blueberry muffins for my son, and made my bed! Off to a good start. I have to vacuum everything today. It's been 90 here and we opened all the windows and we have pollen everywhere. I can't stop blowing my nose! It's only going to be 60 today so good day for cleaning.
Hope you all are having a great morning.
Linda

Its grandparents day at my daughters school so have to run my mom over there this morning. I've already done some laundry and put 2 loads away. The big yard sale did help alot clearing everything out plus it put about $300 in the kitty so that was nice for grocery day.
Will be going back tidying up what didn't get accomplished on my migraine days. So glad thats over and thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. Felt too bad to respond right then but it was nice to see.
-
Hey Mom,
Glad you are all better!
Makraz, souns like exactly what my boy would do! he's mad for water and pool! he'd be in heaven at you house!
Done lotsss this a.m.. none on housework though..
I am in real getting rid of things mode though, so hopefully I will get a bag or 2 for the charity shop done this pm.
It's sooo nice ans sunny here. Am working with patio doors open wide and all the birds are chirping. New blue tits are nesting somewhere near now too. sweet.

Well, ladies...I hardly do any housework that I can speak of anymore, with work and all taking up most of my days. My house is staying clean for the most part, but i know that soon I will have to spiff it up again. I have the day off today, but won't be home as it's my OT day and my son's therapy appointment. Tonight we're going to dinner with my Dad. He is divorcing my mom and has moved to Omaha to live near me (I guess he likes it here after spending the last 6 months living at my house and taking care of me through chemo and surgery). I so wanted to get my garden in this weekend, but it looks like rain most of the week, so the ground will probably be too wet for me to dig in this weekend.
Makraz....the pool sounds heavenly! A hot tub sounds even better!
Shiny...it sounds lovely at your place.. not sure blue tits are appropriate for BCO???
Barbe...OMG!! That's a LOT of money for selling gold. I hope you use it for something fun fun fun!
Update on my date...He has his kids this week, so it's perfect....I can focus on my kids and my responsibilities this week as well. Gives me plenty of time to think about it and to go slow. My therapist warned me not to go jumping into anything as I'd probably make the wrong decision. I'm pretty darn sure she's right. For now, I just enjoy his company. It's good to have friends, especially ones who like to go fishing!! Now all we need is some good sunny fishing weather.
-
Caligirl - sorry to hear about your parents divorce. What a great dad you have to have taken care of you through treatment. Now the ultimate compliment, he wants to live near you. You are blessed.
-
Yeah, Makraz...I was initially sorry to hear about their divorce after 46 yrs of marriage...but my poor dad has never been happy with my mom. She is very angry and bitter about life in general. After the week from Hell that she spent at my house cleaning.... I can totally understand why he has left her. She's unbearable. But, you are right, I am blessed to have a father who wants to live by me. The sad part is that my sister in california feels totally abandoned by him and is siding with my mom. When I talked to my dad yesterday and he was saying how mom is saying this and that about him.....I told him.. "Mom is entitled to be angry, as are you. Mom is entitled to say anything she wants...as are you. You have made your decision, now she has to live with it. You cannot expect her to be happy about it. Your responsibility is to yourself and your own happiness now. So..be happy" Life really stinks sometimes....arrrrgh... people are crazy!!
-
Mom- glad you are better!
Caligirl- I love your new avatar. Can't remember if I already told you that or not! You look great! I'm sorry about your parents. It must be nice to have your dad close to you. He sounds like a great dad to take care of you through surgery and chemo!
Linda- I think you have already done more this morning than I have done all week! LOL
No housecleaning for me today. I have my first appt with the oncologist at 11:30. I am scared and nervous. I will be ok, but right now I'm not handling it all that well. We had to go up to the hospital yesterday for DH's thumb and I saw a woman coming out of the cancer center with her scarf on. It hit me hard that soon that will be me. I couldn't help it and I started crying. DH was great- very supportive. But I am just dreading today as the next phase of this journey begins. Oh well, the sooner it starts, the sooner it's over with, right? Sorry to be a downer. I will be ok. I just have to get past this hurdle. Once I know the plan, I will feel much better. The thing I hate the most about cancer is the loss of control.
Hugs to all!!
-
Texas, so sorry you have to go through that! Just think about it cleaning out your body. Housework from the inside out! I'll even let you bank your treatments as housework. hehehehheehe
Calgal, the divorce will be a relief to everyone concerned. Trust me on this one. Your mom won't have any ammunition and she's already bitter, but at least you'll have a peaceful dad! My parents split when I was 21 and I cried. My husband asked me why, and I said because I wish they had done it years earlier so I would have had a more pleasant home life! I moved out when I turned 18, just to get away.
Shiny, your blue tits made me smile. I knew you'd get comments on that one.
Linda, slow down girlfriend! Now that the pool is full you're getting crappy weather?
-
Thanks Barbe!
How did I miss the blue tits? That is too funny!!!
