barbe1958 ~ I have to have the name of the company you sold your jewelry to.  My mom did the same thing & made some great extra cash!  I went through all of my jewelry & you wouldn't believe how much is "crap" that I have not worn in years!  The compmany my mom used is only in Michigan so I couldn't use them.

TexasRose ~ Post here often or just read through this thread when you need a laugh!  We are way too silly on here!  All of us will be here for you!  HUGS

caligrlof68 ~ Good advice from your therapist, take it slow with the guy.  Everything good comes to those who wait!  My parents also divorced, but I was seven years old.  So I barely remember them together.  To this day they are the best of friends and with my dad's recent possible cancer scare my mom was unglued!  He is remarried and talked to my mom on the phone while in the hospital & even said "Love you too" to my mom in front of his wife!  Oh how I wish my ex could be half the man my dad is!  Then again if he was - perhaps we'd still be married!  Let's not even think of that prospect - it makes some vomit rise in my throat at the thought of even being in the same room w/ him!  LOL

makraz ~ Your pool sounds great!  I had a pool at my house w/ my ex.  Pool was way too much work for me - I hated it!  Best compromise ever, in our new subdivision is a clubhouse with the pool!  No work for me - love it!

ok, ok girls! I was just unsure about the spelling of "blue tits" but I didn't think about the obvious boob thing, as some of you know my spellchecker on BCO does not work anymore, so you all know how horrid my spelling is!

Caligrl, your advice to your dad was exactly what I would say to anyone in that situation. Come to think of it, I think I said something similar to my sister recently. Glad he is near you, that is such a blessing. I love my Dad to bits but he is in a care home in Canada and paralized and blind, now it is even getting hard to call him. You are blessed. And I am blessed as despite all my Dad and I are very close.

Barbe, I did the exact same thing when my folks told us they were splitting up, I was 14 and I said, "why did you wait so long". At the end of the day, you just want your folks to be happy. People change, and no one wants to hurt anyone. Can sooo relate.

Well, my kids are playing in the garden, yes, i love the garden. My boy, is putting weeds in a bucket and, well, not to sure but he looks like he's enjoying it. DD is painting. ahhh, love this time of year, painting, playing outside followed by eating Alfresco= clean kitchen!

Speaking of which, I best get started!

TexasRose, you are cute as a button and wanna bet you have an adorable scull too. Hang in there. I had loads of wavy locks and went bald ASAP (shaved after 10 days, as it was seriously falling out). Honestly on the whole, I never had so much fun with makeup, enjoyed feeling "allowed" to buy 5/6 cute hats from www.headcovers.com, experimented with more colourful clothing. Finally used my collection of scarves which I never ended up wearing that much cause with all my hair it always used to look "too busy". Hang in there, honestly. You are really beautiful, with great eyes and smile. I'll send you extra bestest ever vibes and prayers.

    Take care to everybody.

Caligirl, I hope you and your sister can still get along.  Perhaps after the divorce is finalized you both will have a better relationship.  I'm glad your dad is moving on to a happier lifestyle.  It will be healthier for him too!

TexasRose -You have every right to feel that way.  The next leg  of your journey is scary too, but you will get through it.  There are tons of ladies here who have already survived that and are willing to help you.  I like Barbe analogy, cleaning your body from the inside out.  And I totally agree, you get to bank a lot of cleaning days for your treatments!

I'm still not getting the blue tits?????

Barb, the pool is still not filled.  There's about 11,000 gallons in it now, I need just over 14,000.  I have a well that I ran dry 2 times yesterday.  The kids were psyched because they could not take showers and were told not to flush the toliets (like they ever did!!).  The water is on again today, all day.  I have a few more days of this and then it should be filled.  Of course, as soon as it is filled, it will rain!!

    Hi Makraz,

Wow, that is some big pool you have there!

Blue tits is a kind of bird. They are wee little things with yellow and blue plumage, and it turns out that is how you spell it.

EBW, hope that you have a good rest and feel better.

oh got to go dh calling.

Shiny- Thank you so much! You made my day! I'm glad that you and your kids are able to play in your garden today. (((Hugs)))

    Linda- Thanks to you too!

As usual, the anticipation was way worse than the actual thing. My appt went well. They think I'm an excellent candidate for the Avastin trial. They gave me a lot of info on it and I have to read and decide if I am willing to participate. I already knew about it from reading here and knew that my hospital was participating, so I wasn't surprised when they brought it up. I had more blood work done and I have to have a MUGA scan. Once I make my decision on the trial and get the MUGA scan, then we will set up my first chemo. I will be getting AC x 4 and Taxol x 4, although the Taxol part might change to 12 if I do the trial. Not clear on that and it may be 12 anyway. Information overload!! DH has the notes with him.  I will not be doing dose dense, so my treatments will be every three weeks. He said my incision is healing nicely, but they would like me to heal for a couple of more weeks before chemo starts. They prefer six to eight weeks. I will be at four weeks this coming Friday.

I love looking at it like housecleaning on the inside! Perfect analogy Barbe!!

Another rainy here in Central Texas. I NEED to see the sun!!!! Cool

Linda- I remember filling up the pool the first time. I didn't think it would ever get full! I think it holds 18,000 gallons or something. That was not a good water bill month! The worst part though was the builder had promised us the pool would be done by the end of September. Still pretty good swimming weather in Texas usually. We vowed to swim in it no matter when it was done. They didn't finish until February!! We both put on wet suits and did the polar bear swim, but it was COLD!!!!

    http://www.smallerindiana.com/profiles/blog/list?month=02&year=2009

The story about your pool is funny!  Mine is frozen solid in February.  That's another reason we went with an above ground pool.  Swimming season is so short here!  More than half the time we are at the Lake or Ocean, which I prefer to the pool.  Just not a pool person, but it entertains the kids!

So glad your appointment went well Mary....  it's so much information overload!   I had my second AC out of four last week and then will start on Taxotere x4.  Then rads.  Then Laughing

We used to have an above ground pool too, Makraz.  I did enjoy it while the kids were young...but once they were done with it, we were!  We used to have to put the cover over it at the end of the season, holding it down with water filled milk jugs tied to it!  Those were the days.....

Shiny...absolutely love your stories...glad you had a nice day today...

Well, dh just walked in with groceries...gonna go help...

Had my CT scan but it was delayed while they did blood work because of my kidney stone. It was okay, so they were allowed to use the better dye for contrast.

2new1s, I used Canada Gold Buyers. LOL. I just googled "sell gold Ontario" and got them. We met in a donut shop! I felt like a drug dealer, especially when he weighed each piece and then brought out a mittful of $100 bills!

Shiny I knew what a blue tit was! Do you have tit mice in your garden as well?

Mary, I take it you liked your onc?

Good morning ladies !!   Cool and cloudy here, but not rain at the moment.  yesterday I divided one pot of hostas as my DIL wanted some.  Turns out she only wanted ONE pot.  Maybe I should have a patio sale, as the one I divided yielded 6 nice size plants, which is way more than I need for my 8 foot (apartment) patio slab.  I have 5 more pots that should be divided and one BIG pot that should yield at least 10 plants.   The hostas love it here and have almost grown out of their pots in 3 years.

When I sold the house, I wanted something from the yard and brought the hostas in pots to add the touch of home.   They fall into the lazy gardeners category for easy to grow, no snipping, trimming or anything except water and watch.   They prefer shade, but will tolerate sun as long as it is not the full day sun.

Tomorrow I am part of the Welcome Team for the Avon Walk and will see how commercial this event is.  I am skeptical over how much really does go for research and not into the profit column of agencies and companies.   However, I feel that because my one year since diagnosis is Saturday, this is  MY stand up and be counted effort, if that makes sense.

Have a good day, a super weekend and God Bless.    Hugs,  Nancy

Good morning ladies!! Hope you all have started your Thursday off great. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't done one single thing in my house all week. Working 10 hours a day just DOES NOT give me time to clean house. Maybe this weekend.....

Sharon my sweet Canadian friend. I hope you have a wonderful day. Maybe you and doggus can have a good walk in the beautiful weather. I'm sure his "pointed" tail will be wagging the whole time:) hehe.....give him a kiss from Lucky and Opie:)

KAK you are very talented with the graphics on the computer. I loved your post earlier. That could be another whole business in itself:) When I first married, I worked for a newspaper. Back then, we had the old machines that had the little tape with punched holes and you had to know what letters the holes were. I didn't think I would EVER learn that, but I finally did. We'd run the tape through a machine and it would print out the finished copy. Had to go in a dark room to develope it........man, that was the DARK ages. Makes me feel extremely old:)  BTW......you have a beautiful smile. And I love the "rots of ruv"....dogs make us do unusual things, huh?  hehe

Faithie I bet you're not getting any housework done this week:) Glad DH made it home and I know you're enjoying it immensely! Hope you're able to spend some time with WB and da babeeeez too:)

Shiny!!! I'm thinking of you today. It's Thursday!! Hoping and praying everything goes ok with your little boy's situation. I know it will! He sounds like a little angel and he's blessed to have an angel mum :)  Hey.....I'll get to Walmart this weekend, I"m sure. I'm starting to have withdrawals, as I haven't been in almost a WEEK!! hehe.....love the blue tits story. I guess since we're all here because of our t*ts....that's the first thing that comes to mind:)

2new1s did you say you had the flu? Make sure it's not the swine flu!!!! Hope you're feeling better today. That swine flu is some serious stuff. Don't take any chances!!!

Barbe are you a gold digger?  :) hehe lol.....girl it sounds like that's a pretty good haul you made there. Did I read you were having a CT scan? Did you have it yet? Hope everything is ok.

Makraz I know that pool MUST be full by now! I had never thought about people that have wells. when we fill ours, the fire department comes and hooks in to a fire hydrant and it fills up pretty quick. They charge us $25, but it's worth it. Kinda wish we had an above ground, because we don't really use it that much anymore. I mostly sit near it instead of in it:) I do enjoy looking at it though:) It's relaxing...

Mom how did grandparents day go? I think that's so neat. They do that around here too. Makes the kids so happy for their grandparents to come to school. I always felt sorry for the kids that didn't have grandparents though:(

Caligrl I agree with therapist about taking it slow on dating. You're fresh out of a relationship, and you don't need to get burned. I saw my brother get hurt really bad. He separated from his wife of 13 years, and within 2 months was dating again. Ended up marrying again as soon as his divorce was final, and that marraige only lasted 10 months!!! He didn't really know the lady he married. Anyway, just be careful. You've got alot on your plate with treatment, kids, etc......(((((hugs)))) to you.....just be safe:)

MaryRose so glad you're happy with oncologist. I'm praying for your quick recovery so you can get that treatment started and OVER with!! I remember marking every day off the calendar with a big ole "X".......I literally counted down the days!! Hang in there.....you're gonna do just fine!

Elaine hope you're having a good day today!! I'm sending you LOTS of cyber-energy:) I know what you mean about lack of energy. It seems like my energy level starts going down fast around 2:00 in the afternoon.....I'm just like an old woman. Everything just starts to shut down:)

Arnie thank you for the info in the website. I can't use it here at work, but I will for sure when I get home. I just love the animations:) They always add a little something extra to the post. You've got a great sense of humor:)

(((((((((Footie)))))))) I'm so sorry you're having a bummed week. Wish I could fix it all for you. Wish you could find a WONDERFUL doctor. That means so much.......I'm still praying for you! Hang in there!!!!

Nancy I would love some of those hostas you have. It sounds like you've got a huge supply of them:) I have seen people put a little sign in their yard giving bulbs away, or even selling them for a small price. You might try that. I'm sure you'll have some takers:)  Good luck with the Avon Walk...I love Avon and have seen their pink ribbon stuff and have even bought some:)

I've been missing some faces......OhioDeb, Lori, Seltzer, Dejaboo, Nana----it seems like there's others but my chemo brain has kicked in:)

    Big (((((((((((hugs)))))))) to everybody!!!

When we moved into our current house, there were 100's of plantings (first owners were landscapers, the second owners totally ignored all plantings). Anyway, Things were soooo overgrown we had to thin things out a bit. I had so many hostas, I was giving themn to anyone who wanted and still had a bunch left. It was kind of sad because there were azalias, rhodadendrens, beautiful things that all over grew and crowded each other, nothing was doing well. I hear this was the yard that everyone took wedding and prom pictures in, hard to believ now :(

Any whoo. hope everyone is doing well, I am trying to learn how to plan the day so I don't get so pooped out, its been 2 yrs and I am still trying. Ever hopeful that one day I will figure it out.

Nancy - I'll take some hosta's!  EWB, you yard sounds great too!  I love plants and flowers.

Coonie, not even near full.  I wish the fire dept would come but without town water, they would have no where to get the water from!  The water truck delivered 10k gallons for 500.00.  That's why I want to fill the rest with the hose. The liner was 1500., I don't want to spend any more on this darn pool!  I only need about 4 more inches of water before I can  put the pump on.  That's going to take several more days.

Coonie, you need to take a vacation for your 10 hour work days!

I'm here!!!!!!!!!! (picture me waving my hand!).......too lazy to go get a pic....well, after surgery thought she was going to have to go back in as there was like a 1mm spot of DCIS on the margin, but her and the onc decided to let the radiation take care of anything that might be in my breast...but she really doesn't think there is, in fact, I went and got the drain removed this morning, she came in and asked me how it felt to be cancer free!  She was estatic over how great of a response I had to treatment and even gave me a big hug!  So, next step, radiation, then I am done! woooohooooooo!

Makraz,  you can definitely have this rain we're getting, it's going to rain all week long!! ugh!  My dogs are NOT Happy about this dilemna...they want to go play. hahahah reminds me, where we used to live, we bought one of those pools that stand up as you put water in them, the blue ones, can't remember the name, my gawd that was the coldest water I think I've ever swam in....you would have thought the sun would have warmed it up but noooooooooo.........next time I will know to get a better pool!

Love, hugs and prayers to all!!!!!!!!!

BTW  I watched the weather today and your right, you are sending your rain my way!!  YEAH!!  I actually hate rain but need it badly now!  Bring it on!!

I mowed the lawn, and acre and a quarter.  Does that count as house work??

OhioDeb....hooray for you!! So happy for your good news!! You can do it....just hang in there a little longer!

Makraz....maybe the rain will help speed up the process a bit with the pool. But......4 inches is still alot for a pool huh? Good luck!

    Easy definition.

Yes OHDeb, we've had all together tooooooooo much precip for my tastes.... will be happy to send it on to you MaK.

Thanks Coonie for keeping the list up-to-date. Sure helps me focus.

Sorry I have been missing so much lately. I am playing chauffeur alot lately for the kids, and especially for dd#1 who is now working and I'm her ride. She got her license a couple of months ago but traffic here is crazy and she still has some areas of driving that we are working on. Trying to give her lots of practice time before she gets a car of her own.

Teaching her to drive has to have been the most nerve wracking part of motherhood for me bar none. There were days I just thought I couldn't stand getting in that passenger seat with her once more to which she would reply "but mom you have to! Its your responsibility to make sure I can drive."  I even pleaded with her to find a driving school to teach her but after a couple of lessons the guy told her it was just up to us to give her more practice time (the cowardWink).

Anywho she finally has the hang of it and we can usually make a round trip now without all the drama.

Hugs for everyone and hoping someone is making dinner for you tonight.   About the hostas:  I live in an apartment complex with 20 separate buildings, with 20 or so apartments in each building.  Very few people put flowers on their patios (only first floor apartments) or balconies.   There is extensive landscaping around each building also.  The azaleas are blooming now.   And many of those who live here are short term residents.   I have met only 2 others who lived here longer than me.   For now,I am leaving the other pots as is.

Have sweet dreams and don't over do tomorrow:  TGIF !!!!

    EWB (Elaine I think)

When we first bought this house, this lady had put flower beds ALL around the house, she heard that moisture kept the slab from cracking, it was simply beautiful, every kind of plant she could find...well I had two german shepherds then, one was blind,,,the only way he could find the door was to go thru the flowerbed , he knew that route, he has since passed away, but I have another one now, one weighs 150lbs the other about a 100 so there are no plants in the backyard flowerbeds no more and I sure miss them........I don't know why but it's their favorite playground and uh bathroom...but the rest are still there!

    Hugs

    Deb
