Barbe and Cheryl I know I'm a little leary now too but apparently the surgeon just got that info wrong in his head when he was dictating the info to the transcriptionist.
-
Bad enough they're stuck over there, but to be injured and have no family? That's horrible.

My super-hero Saint, has posted a lengthy post over on her prayer thread & also on the Stage IV thread......
She emerges from her cave of sleeping.
Thanks to one & all for the continual prayers.

Party, party, party, party.
(She's not exactly out of the woods yet, but this is brilliant news.)

Oh Deb what a great idea.
His name is Sgt. Daniel Thornhill and he has a B-Day soon I think???? He lost both legs and was burned on 56% of his body while fighting for our country in Iraq. He has been at Fisher house for one year and his parents say he has very few visitors or other corespondance and is very depressed.

I know he could use a card or letter and the girls have colored him pictures and will be sending them out today.

We are back from the Pedi. and both girls have an upper respiratory infection. I am beginning to wonder about their Pedi. though.
Porshalin has a small spot on the center of her back. About the size of a pencil lead and about the same color maybe a little lighter. It does not hurt and looks almost like a freckle under the skin. I noticed it about a month ago and asked the Dr. about it. She had her bend over and touch her toes and then proceeded to pinch this spot like you would a pimple. No gloves just long finger nails. Then she took a small metal thing with a hole in the center and pressed it over the spot. Nothing happened except Porshalin was screaming her head off in pain. She then started pinching it again with her nails. She said it looked like a black head and needed to come out before it got infected. I finally told her to stop!!!!
By then my baby had a blood blister under the skin! Dr. said it is nothing to worry about but that we should continue to try to extract it at home. If it is nothing to worry about why did she keep on messing with it and if it is something to worry about why didn't she refer me to a skin Dr.????? GRrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon all. back from onc appointment. Scans came back ok--not showing any additional lesions, things appear to be stable. There are a few spots on the lung, no one is sure what they are but have been there since begining; docs think it is scaring from something and are just watching. Onc said one of the spots had grown a bit but he is not concerned, will watch it. Other than that status quo. All in all a good visit, and good news.

Hi all! Still struggling with a sling and pain in my arm. I see the orthopedic surgeon next Wednesday or as we call him Dr. Cutie Pie! Before I venture out in the world again I'm going to wrap myself in bubble wrap! From of your posts I suggest some of you do the same!

Kathleen- very gentle hugs...hoping things are feeling better SOOOON.

Kathleen........gentle hugs. I sincerely hope you are NOT doing housework!!! I'm so sorry you are still having to endure pain. It does tend to wear one down.

I am fixing a big old pot of chili for supper tonight, even adding some elbow macaroni and will top it off with cheese and a little dab of sour cream before serving. Love meals that are quick, easy and tasty like this.
Let me tell you about my adventure today. I took my dog for a little walk down the street which is lined with wooden fences that surround the backs of houses and passes right along the sidewalk. We walk this way all the time without a problem but today I could hear a BIG dog barking and not that friendly yapping most dogs do but one of those "let me get at you" type barks. I was feeling pretty secure since it was behind the fence but it was a shadow fence so suddenly here it comes and it was huge looking trying to poke its face to see us walk by. I was talking to hubby at the time and told him I was worried whether the fence would hold it in because the gate looked like it wasn't bolted very well. Anyway I crossed the street just to avoid upsetting it again and had just gone past it when it comes barking like crazy to the fence and then I look back and its found a huge gap I hadn't noticed before and its huge head is sticking out and part of its chest. I just about freaked, hung the phone up on hubby after shouting "its getting out". I picked up my Sophie and was about to toss her over a neighbors low fenced in yard because I knew the brute would tear her up but when I looked back for some reason it had backed back into its own yard instead of stepping on out. So I took off for the house before it tried again. How scary was that! After all these years of walking that sidewalk too. Maybe its someone new moved in, but this is a disaster waiting to happen. Thanking the Lord it didn't just bolt on through because it was out far enough it would have been easy to do.
Bkc your ped doc sounds like a kook doing that to a child. I'd take her to a dermatologist and hope she doesn't get an infection from that all that poking. Now she has probably made your little one afraid to go back to a doctor.

Love bubble wrap kmc, but I'd spend my time trying to pop all those fun bubbles.
-
Whoa...trying to get caught up (yes, I'm still alive!)...but I got sidetracked by Johnny sticking his cutlass in the umbrella stand. I have no idea what that means but....I think I'd like to.
-
Good to see you Texas!!! Hang in there sister...this too shall pass. I just finished my 4th AC and now on to Taxotere... the onocologist is telling me that the red bag is the "red devil" and hopefully I'll breeze through Taxotere. Been thinking about you sister...
Yippeeeeee, Elaine, Saint, Mom such good news from you all.... made me smile.
bkc... sorry you're girls are sick...hope they're better real quick!
Deb...yikes! Is that 3 things now...not that I'm superstitious...but...geeeeeeeezzzzzzz.... Love the idea about adopting Daniel!
Mum...hope everything went well at the surgeon's visit today...
Ok.... they did the TEE on Mr. Arnie today and there is no hole in the heart... (Coonie... I did have a hole in my heart that they found after I experienced 3 TIA's 2 years ago. They go in with a device that springs open and creates a new wall... haven't had a TIA since) Anyway, sooooo we go to the neurologist Thursday, tomorrow and see if he can find the source. I had my onocology visit today and they don't like how swollen my right leg is above the knee....so I have to go have a venus doppler on that leg either Friday or Monday... I swear I'm soooooooo sick of doctor's offices and hospitals!!! lol It was kinda funny today though cause while we were waiting for the doc I pulled out my cellphone. My dd had tried to teach me how to text last week... So I tried to text her and all I could get was "Hi there, it's m" dh said give me that and he couldn't get it either...lol The message went out ... "Hi there, it's moo"... lol Before the doc came in she texted me back and said, "I love you mom...but you're such a dork"...lol dh and I had a good laugh over it.
Anyway, really tired so gonna call it a night... hope you all had a blessed day. Thanks for all the good wishes and vibes... you gals are the greatest!

Oh, man, I'm just about to leave work for my hour drive back home and wanted to catch up on everyone's tests today. Yah Elaine! You done good!
Hey arnie, no hole, but no diagnosis yet. Hang in there...
Mom I've got so many pictures of dogs playing and barking in my head right now I'm getting a headache! I'm a CAT person! hehehehehehe
Mary, now you got me thinking about Johnie's sword and umbrella stand...do you think she meant what I'm now thinking she meant?
-
I don't know Barbe...sounded that way to me.
Thanks for thinking of me ladies during my date with the "red devil". My people call it that too Arnie. I'm half done with that AC. Thank goodness! Hope Mr. Arnie gets some answers soon.
Glad to see all the good news and hugs to those who are having trying times.
Mary- another CAT lady!
-
Good seeing you back Texas!
Barbe guessing you are just about home by now, thats a long drive after a hard days work.
Arnie I use to be able to send the text messages but changed phones and now I can't even begin to get one sent. Not sure why this one is so hard to do.
-
Arnie really watch that leg. Can't believe they are making you wait till Monday to get it checked out. You get any strange pains or shortness of breath and you book it to the ER.
-
Arnie
Let's see..Sunday it was the tree top and patio table, Monday it was the car, Yesterday was the day I almost got killed, yup that's 3 things, what's that mean? And I got my car back today, was nothing serious and only cost me like $119 to get it fixed, not bad for a transmission shop!
So actually I look at the nite we spun outta control as lucky since another car didn't hit us and we werent hurt and today as a good day since I got such a good deal on my car!
As for texting bet I am the texting queen..the hubby and I usually send each other bout 30 or more messages per day! LOL
-
Excellent New Saint and EWB!! Mom too!
Kathleen, good luck with Dr. Cutie Patutie!
Arnie, I bet you are both sick of doctors but you must continue. wE HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT WRONG WITH mR aRNIE. hANG IN THERE. fUNNY STORY ABOUT YOUR DD. mY DS HAD teach me. (sorry, I hate when that happens).
Mary, good to see you too. VEry busy day for me outside!! Yeah!! 5 days of rain coming. Ugh.
-
Linda are you fighting with the caps key or what?
-
I do that all the time for some reason. Then I have to retype everything. I was too lazy to do that tonight.
I told my ds about the above mentioned soldier. He got on this computer and email his teacher to see if the whole class could make cards for him. She already emailed him back and said they will do that tomorrow. He is so excited to make and send him cards. He feels horrible that the soldier lost his legs and is burned.
-
Mom I think she's trying to be cool like the way the kids do..LOL, my Granddaughter used to type like that...
BTW, did you get that money I sent you for the flowers?
-
Deb, I AM COOL!!!!! i WANT TO BE JUST LIKE YOUR gRANDDAUGHTER!
-
Yep... these kids and their technology...lol I'll get it... I tried to send my son a text and somehow hit the send button by accident and the only thing sent was " i"... lol. He just came in from work and patted me on my bald head and said .... "give it up mom, just call"... lol
Hope you all have a great night.... I'm heading towards bed
Oh yeah... Deb there is an old saying that bad things come in "three's"
Nitey nite girlfriends
