Cathi, how truly awful. Gentle hugs.
-
Wow Cathi, that would have been a nightmare for anyone.
We are gettting some storms again but they tend to split somehow and go around us which is fine for me.
-
Yeah Linda my dad was never one to cry, I can count on one hand how many times I had seen him cry, but they were apart for a month (both in different hospitals) he was so happy to get home, he was scared to death for my mom, but also scared for him too, he could not walk, and my mom was his "care giver" for the most part, I was there everyday several times a day, had a visiting nurse as well, but none of us were my mom. Well they are both is God's hands now, I miss them, but they are free of pain now, the last few years of both of their life's were so hard on them. Sometimes seems so unfair that people have to suffer. My dads passing was more peaceful than moms, he ultimately died from renal failure, he was to old to be eligible for kidney transplant and he opted to stop dialysis, my mom also had renal failure from diabetes and was doing dialysis but she passed from liver CA. Thank goodness for Hospice, my dad was in a hospice facility, my mom passed at my house.
Well off to relax and watch a movie. Good night to all.
-
Cathi, Thanks for sharing that personal info. Your parents were very lucky to have each other and you. I hope you are monitoring yourself for diabetes... in the fall. Remember, this is the summer for CATHI!!
-
Mom, Wish they had skirted around me..We had a mess....here's some pics, first one is of the top of our tree that snapped and landed on our fence in the neighbors yard, the second is what's left of my glass patio table.....
-
Wow DEb, glad it didn't hit your house!
-
Oh my goodness Deb! Yikes! So thankful no one was hurt!!!
Cathi... What a story...it's hard and heartbreaking when the parents get elderly or incapaciatated. I remember the day we had to take my dad's car keys away...about broke my heart....
-
oooooh Deb! No we didn't get hardly anything but north and west of us did. Although it rained a little here I still had to go out and water my plants.
My youngest is visiting her grandparents that are up here house sitting tonight (last night too). They are making the most of being back up here for a few weeks. Was just thinking they may wind up moving back here. My Father in law decided he wanted to retire in his hometown in western Ky. Kind of get back, meet people, make connections and all before they were too old to enjoy it. Bet its been hard on my Mother in law though because she dotes on the kids something awful. I would hate it if my hubby moved me away from my grandkids.
-
Whats so bad is when the remnants of Ike came thru here (whenever that was), that same tree...a 30 foot branch or longer fell off it and was laying on my pergola and the pergola is right at the back door...barely missed the house....while I was standing out there looking at that mess, our gingko biloba tree snapped in half right in front of me..I'm beginning to think that we have a large X on the roof..no one else had damage either then or today! Just us! Go figger.
-
Whoa Deb...I sure hope all of you are ok!! That's kinda scary!
-
Yea we're all fine..as usual he was at work and I was home alone! I didn't even know the tree had fallen till I took the dogs out..........
-
Around here it seems like its always the bradford pear trees that get the worst of the storm damage.
-
-
Good nite Arnie! Hope you both are doing well!
-
Well, today I went to church, then went to job#2 and did payroll, then I came home, did dishes and fed the dogs. That's about it for me today.
-
Jane, that's about it for the week! You are working too hard girlfriend!!
-
Hi, honey-bunnies. Had to work today & now I'm off to bed, but wanted to say night-night.
(((((Cathi))))))) tough way to lose each of your parents. I'm an orphan now myself. It's amazing how much it affects you to lose both parents no matter how old you are.
((((((((Deb))))))))) Yikes! I'm glad no one got hurt & that your house is still standing.
Work again tomorrow, then Tuesday, I have my first oil change on my new car & then I have to drop it off at the body shop to get it a new bumper from its first car accident back in April.....oy!
'Night.

Deb was just reading a post you wrote encouraging some newbies who were really anxious and frightened and it really touched me that you reached out to them like that. Made me a proud "mom".
-
Well just slung it out from the heart...I still remember what it felt like, I was so petrified........I remember what is most likely going through their heads and that's scary...I try to catch alot of the new ones, but sometiimes I miss em........People did it for me, just paying it forward.
Hugs darlin!
-
Deb, your sweet. You have a big heart.
Good night Ladies!
-
Night Linda, give those boys a hug from all of us if they will hold still long enough.
-
Deb I know Cathi does the same thing. She is really good at reaching out too.
-
I just really really hate seeing new people here..does it depress the rest of you too? I mean, everyday theres like 3 or so..and this is just one board! Sometimes it's more..I hate this disease and can't wait for them to wipe it off the face of the earth. Cant' wait for the day when this board is no longer needed.......
With that said, and the rotten day I've had today, it's just been one thing after another...like the storm, the damage, then lifting a 18lb bag of dog food and having the bottom come outta the bag, dog food went all over the laundry room floor, had to move the washer and dryer and now I have a backache..I am going to beddy.........Please pray tomorrow is a better day! (Even though it's back to rads again, ugh)
Luv, Hugs to all
Deb

Deb this is a thought for tomorrow for you.
-
Good Morning Ladies!
-
That baby scared me when it blinked!
-
OMG!! I didn't notice her blinking. That's freaky!
-
Good morning ((( friends ))). I am glad the tree fell the "other way" and not on your house. We had a HUGE oak tree fall over into the street and ended up in the across the street neighbor's driveway, about 3 minutes after they left in their car for work. Blocked the street, took down the power lines, was very scary and also no one hurt. The only real damage was their mailbox was destroyed. My tree expert told me it was most likely "inverse lightning", where the tree is hit, but it goes down into the ground and does not splinter the actual tree, but kills the roots and the tree then falls over. Who cares what they call it???
I see newbies all the time and when I go for tx, although only every 3 weeks, even more. What a way to meet people... But I was discussing with a gal I met at one of my first chemos and she said only "we" can talk about this with each other. Family and friends just don't "get it". BUT, I sure wish I had NOT gotten it...
Is it Monday? yep - another week of slacking off with housework for me. I am being a slouch with bone aches and these HOT support stockings. I am making a fashion statement when I go for walks -- capri pants and support stockings and crocs...
Have a good day, or at least a BETTER day. Hugs, Nancy

Awww she's suppose to be a sweet baby LInda, not freaky.
I'll have to find Deb a happier gif to post.
Heard from Shiny, she is just getting back home and sounds pretty tired. Just know we are thinking of you Shiny.
