Mom, Jaz, Makraz, Kak...here goes another lazy day, I'm drinking tea in bed as usual.
Mom...you probably have more people to take care than I do, I've just got a husband and three cats.
I have no idea how my neighbors do it, their lawns look like fake green carpet, not a weed anywhere, new mulch poured everywhere. I was running the other day (now that IS something I do to take care of myself) and I saw a lady walking around her lawn with a paper bag and picking things up...but the grass was immaculate, as though someone had vacuumed it. When I saw was she was picking up they were little globs of bare roots!!! Someone must have gone around and picked them out the ground, and now she was picking them up.
How fussy can you get?

Good morning everyone. I guess my arm is starting the healing process because it hurts like the dickens. Anyway, that was the answer I got from hospital staff when I complained of pain. If it is healing - why couldn't it heal quietly instead of band standing?
Perfection is a symptom of insanity!
-
Here's to hoping the healing can learn how to do that process, without the pain.

Hugs for Saint, so worried, hoping things are better. Thanks for the updates Faith!
Arnie good to hear you and Mr Arnie are doing better. Thinking good thoughts for Mr Arnie's tests.
Mizz- I could have written your last post! evchange painting for yoga/meditation/reading, but thats us. Went thru a purge recently (try to do it when feeling good) to reduce what has to be dealth with and try to keep things picked up (inside and out) but not a fanatic. Decided long ago I'd rather spend time with family, doing fun stuff etc. sigh.
Barbe- my onc is the BEST, always schedules my scans for a few days before appointment so I get info fast (his office sets things up, deals w/insurance co. and lets me know when to show up) its great. In fact- for some reason the insurance co approved the bone scan and the chest ct but had to review the ab ct. This means a dcision will be made by close of business Tuesday, but scans are sched for Monday. Mimi (his lovely, wonderful very helpful assist) called to say that he would be calling them to have it approved so that it could be done before the Wed appointment. Was sooo apologetic that I might have to go to center 2 times (mom and tues) and if I wanted she would rearrange the chest ct to Tuesday so I would have both cts done together and only get stuck once for the contrast!
umm forgot what was on all the previous pages, but do remember that someone was painting---good luck with that sounds like a fun project (hope dds are helping?)
Hugs to everyone

missed your post Kathleen- sorry for the pain but hoping that means its healing REALLY fast.

I am going to try ONE more time to put a photo of me bald and with wig.

BKC Benjamin Moore Paint (my favorite) came out with a new paint, I believe called Aura, or something like that. It is guarenteed to cover any color in just one application. You should check it out.
Miz, I think you should put a clothesline up in your front yard and leave a pair of undies on it year round. I bet your neighbors would be mortified.
Hugs to all and special prayers for Julz, Mr and Mrs Arnie, Saint and her family, Shiny and anyone else who needs them.
The sun is out!!

Good morning ladies,
Have to go in to work today at noon. Yuk. But I switched places with one of the guys so he could go to a family reunion.
Barb thanks for the info. You know you should never have told me how much you know about this because now I will be full of questions. I was afraid these contractors were trying to make this sound harder than it shoud be. I do have to change out a couple sheets of sheetrock because the holes are to big to patch but my BIL will do that. And will have an installer who is also a friend do the carpet after we are done with all the painting of course. Oh I am getting excited about this.
Nancy hadn't thought about the chalkboard paint. Great idea. Could do that on the closet doors as there are two doors two girls.
So Barb know anything about chalkboard paint? The doors are white. How hard is it to paint, any special prep.?
My BIL tells me he will help with this (he is a carpender by trade) and bring all of his tools and we can get this all done for less than $150 including paint and supplies and tac strip I already have the carpet and pad and it can be completed in a weekend.
Somehow I was expecting this to be much more of a project.

Bunnies!!! I'm working too BKC.........till noon!! Are we working together?
Naaaa.......I'm the only one here:) But I haven't been here in 2 weeks, so I better get to work......got lots to do:)
I wanted to welcome the newbies, but I'll have to do it later in style:) It's sooo good to see the new faces!!!
anybody seen Shiny, Lursa, 2new1's??
Arnie's back!!!!!!!!!!! yaaahooooooo
MOM......I'm doing so much better!!! Thanks for asking......so glad you DH is home.
More later bunnies.........
-
Guess I am done for the day... tried to post a picture and am worn out, lol
-
Makraz....DH & I are still howling over your suggestion. I luv it!!!!
EWB, yah, I should have a garage sale. At this point we have about 25 years accumulation...lots of good stuff, especially when I look at the meager offerings of the neighbors' garage sales. But there is so much stuff I can't deal it all. I'd have to find tables, rig up a line to hang clothes, clean the garage (I actually did two weeks ago), make signs. I get tired just thinking about all of that.
I LUV the idea of living simple. We have SOOO much stuff and this big house were in isn't worth half of what it was when we bought it. I think I'd just like to give it away to someone lock stock and barrel when we make our retirement move. Leave them *everything*....
Oh geez, gotta go, DH is making the bed on his day off and making me feel guilty!!!!!
-
Was trying to post but dd has the dog barking frantically in the back ground (she is usually an extremely quiet dog but out of the blue sometimes thrills the kids with her rendition of being a wild, barking crazy loon of a dog racing round and round on the bed barking her head off) It really is pretty hysterical but not fun to be hearing when you are trying to post.
The inlaws are in town now for the next 3 weeks house sitting for friends that live here. So we are going over to surprise my Father in law with a little birthday celebration......oops gotta go, hubby calling. hugs to all.
-
Kathleen, thats what they told me bout my breast and the back of my arm too, it's healing..I'm like they're not that big, how can it take so long for something so simple to heal? Until then I'm stuck looking like Dolly on one side..LOL...swells up every nite!
Hoping yer outta pain soon babe..Prayers to all who need them..
Love ya all!
-
I've been gone for 2 hours and can't get caught up on my favs!!! And DH wants lunch. SO, making lunch is my houseworking duties for today. And that's IT!!
Thankyou for the update Faith.......geez was it here you mentioned FBing with Saint's DD? I can't remember.
Lets just all put down our cleaning supplies and pray for dear Saint!!!
-
Still praying for Saint and checking in from work to see how she's doing...
Chalkboard paint is really fun! You need at least 2 good coats to make it black/black so don't try to put it on too thick in one coat. Might as well get the girls their own coloured chalk and brush each or they'll fight...
Get you camera ready to take some shots...it will be interesting to see what they do with it.
I used to have it on a pantry door in my kitchen and we'd 'welcome' our guests. They got quite a kick out of hanging in the kitchen and then realizing the writing was about them!
(Remember to leave the trim white. You'll love the look so much! I am actually in the process of painting all my interior doors black (not chalkboard). It looks stunning! Then cancer got in the way...sigh.
-
Hi, honey-bunnies. Just a quickie. I'm sooo hoping Saint got to her son's graduation. Hugs to her, Arnie & Mr. Arnie, Shiny, Kathleen, Julz & anyone else who needs one. (Well, we ALL need one, at least every day!).
Barbe, you are the bomb!! I'm calling you when I get stuck with a home-improvement project. You're a woman after my own heart. Love black doors. Are you using gloss, semi or satin?
Linda, great idea about the chalkboard paint. I believe you can get it in a light color or white, too.
Faith, any newer news on Saint?
-
hmm black doors, what a novel idea......I wouldn't have to clean the doors as much that way...TOTALLY AWESOME! Hey this is a BIG help, when you have a GSD that weighs over 150lbs and another at about 115 who are constantly scraping on the doors and leaving dirt on them! OR shaking their fur off on them!
-
Okay, remember my kidney stone "Mick", I told my DH that we named him. I said Mick, as in Mick Jagger. Long pause from him....Do you get it? I asked. Oh, he says, yah...hehehe. What does it mean to you (I ask this a lot to make sure he is reacting properly). Oh, like jagged. Right?
Sigh.
No, keep thinking I say....Mick Jagger is.....A singer? he says. Yeeeeees, I encourage. I had to finally say Rolling Stones to him. He asked why I didn't call it Keith for Keith Richards!
Sigh.
-
Glad you liked the chalk board idea. 2 cutsies for you all:
1. A husband is someone who, after taking
the trash out, gives the impression that
he just cleaned the whole house.
2. My next house will have no kitchen - just
Vending machines and a large trash can.
-
Katheen, just wanted to send you a (((((((gentle hug))))))))) hope your shoulder is healing fine and hope you have some one to help you around the house and do things for you, if i lived near you i would help if i could
angel hugs debbie
-
Bunnies!!! I have some reading to do. You gals sure do talk alot.
Had to work today and it sure was good to get outta the house for awhile.
I gonna try to go back and read some, but I wanted to welcome the newbies. It's so much fun here.....hey.......I want ya'll to meet some of my family.......we're a bright eyed bunch.....
-
Well, great googa mooga......I didn't mean to make the page so big:)
-
-
Hi Bunnies! I went to the farmers market today and bought a bunch of annual flowers. Now I have to get DH to help dig holes to plant them. Sure hope I can get them planted before fall!
We had a great time last night watching StarTrek. Beforehand we went out to eat. Now that our boys are older they know how to behave in a restaurant. They are much more pleasurable to be around.
-
lol yikes! Coonie .... I have a single sister....lol never mind...
Km...so sorry you're in so much pain, man on top of everything else! I miss your pic posting...
to all the new ladies! Remember only one rule....
((((((((Saint)))))))))) (((((((((((((Shiny))))))))))) ((((((((((((((Km))))))))) (((((((((((2new1s))))))))
((((((((((Lursa)))))))))))) and anyone else who needs one!
-
Hey Cathi!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that a REAL picture?? I think I recognize that face......what a cute DOLL baby!!!!
Hey Cheryl!!! I enjoy the Farmers Market too!! Hey.....you're really not supposed to be doing ANY kind of work, so we won't tell MOM......OK? LOL But I'm glad you're feeling good enough to try it:) Strength feels good, huh?
-
Hey Arnie? Does your sister have teeth.
Causin if she does, well, it might make my kin folk feel a little insecure......ya know what I mean?
As you can see, even my hounds have teeth problems........mmmmm
-
Yup Coonie thats Alexcis, we had a blast at the beach today, she just left for home, 2 days and I had so much fun - but for sure can't walk now. (PS Barbe - you asked about Tylenol - it does not even begin to help the pain).
Heres Ed's favorite beach shirt.
-
Awwwww Cathi... I wanna come see that white sand!!! What an adorable pic!
Cheryl... isn't it great when you can go to a restaurant again and enjoy it! lol.. I have flowers waiting to be planted in the back...but thankfully it's been a cool rainy week and they look lovely right where they are....hehe
Would love to go to the Farmers Market...don't know if I'd have the strength ours is soooo big... next year!
