arnie I was thinking we were gonna have to start building one of those arks here its rained so much. The good side of it is that everything is super green and its been a boon for all the flowering trees here.
Coonie if you can keep up with everyone like that on chemo brain I'd like to see what you do when everything is back to normal. You have me beat now by a country mile.
Linda I love the time and effort you put into hearth and home.
Caligirl its good seeing you back on here, I've missed your post. You have a handsome son there too.
Some of you other gals have been too quiet too. We may not be able to keep track of everyone but you are missed even if we don't say it.
-
Barbe- it's ok cause you're my favorite Canadian friend
Elaine
-
I'll take that Elaine! Thanks!

Coonie, I wish I lived closer to all of you. Perhaps we should build a BC.org retirement home. Then we can all live together!! That would be fun!
I am a helper by nature. Sometimes gets me in trouble. My heart just breaks for my friend - her DH has probs, medical issues, DH had both hips replaced 2 weeks ago (he's only 45), doesn't work, she works 12 hours days, and DH has mental illness on top of everything else. She has 2 kids 7 and 10 who need attention so I've been helping out. I love kids and it breaks my heart to see any suffer.
Barb, you are my sweet, crazy, funny, gorgeous, Canadian friend!

I think you are all amazing- every last one of you!!
And I have enough heat to share with anyone and everyone who needs it! Just say the word and I will blow real hard in your direction and hopefully it will go that way. My husband got in the pool for the first time this weekend. It's officially pool season here in Texas now and will be until.....a long, long time from now!!
Linda- My prayers for your friend. I don't understand sometimes why so much heartache is heaped on one person. She is lucky to have you though.
Monday hugs for all! I'm doing laundry and cleaning up a little bit around the house from the weekend. Looks like it might rain. The humidity is awful! The flowers are all in full bloom and everything has turned green.
And I love Canada. We go as often as we can.
-
Hi fellow dust bunnies!
Happy Monday. All my laundry is done, sheets are already back on the beds, towels are all put away! I also sprayed Lysol all over the house, all of us have been passing around a cold. House smells nice, just wich I could open all the windows. Too chilly & it is going to rain soon.
Funny story to share: My DH went to Jewel yesterday to get steak & other items to grill for our dinner. He asked if I needed anything else, I told him to pick me up the magazine Cosmopolitan. When he came home with it, I looked at it and he got the SPANISH version of the magazine! LOL!!!!!!!!!! It was so funny! I said "How could you not realize that all of the writing on the cover was in SPANISH??????????" He said "I just looked for the name Cosmopolitan and put it in the cart...I wasn't reading it." OMG ~ we laughed about it all night! So if any of you gals can read spanish, I have a brand new issue of Comso for you!

Well Texas it is HOT here too, yet still I can have my air off, great sea breeze, but in land -it is swealtering, and no rain, sooooooo dry. It is pool and beach weather for sure, the gulf temp is now @ 82 degrees. Hard to believe that in just a few short weeks Hurricane season begins again.
Hope everyone is having a great Monday.
-
Texas and Cathi, Please blow the warm air north!!! Thank you!
-
Hey Coonie
What about me I'm from Canada too? I'm just on the west coast side, Much warmer over here.
Lori
-
Awwhh well Barbe...........of COURSE you can be my Canadian friend too
I think Canadians are the nicest people........besides us Americans of course, and the Spanish and the French and the English.......ooooohh I better quit, 'cause I'll for sure leave somebody out:)
hehe 2new1s that is a FUNNY story. I can tell your husband was just following orders and not paying much attention .......hehe
It's hot and humid here too....we're right along with Texas and Florida.....
Linda.......I'm sorry about your friend. My prayers will be with her and her family.
I wonder how Shiny's doing today:)
-
Ohhh hey Lori!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!! You too!!.....Man, I've got lots of Canadian friends now
I really should plan a trip to Canada:)
-
Caligirl
Great pic of your son. Isn't is great when they graduate. My DS#1 graduated 3 yrs ago brought tears to my eyes as he went across the stage.
Hope everyone had a great Mothers Day!!!!
Lori

Hello all,xx
Hope you all had lovely mother's day treats and huggs.
Gosh, I can only understand heat in terms of celcius, (35/40= very hot), I best get a conversion chart stuck to my lap top as I keep wondering what you all consider sooo cold and sooo hot!
Tattoos day today; I was wearing a tight white top of all things with a thin oatmeal cardi on top..chosen cause they don't need ironing and my washing machine got stuck on pause yesterday with all my darks in it! What I didn't realize is that there can be a fair bit of bleeding in the 1st few days.
As I am allergic to waterproof dressings the tattooist nurse, has to put cotton dressings ..remember white top..After leaving hospital, I had to go to a charity shop in South Kensington and get myself a little marino wool grey jumper to cover my boobs before coming back to my county on the train. When I got home, I found that my tattoo wounds had leaked blood straight through the white top.Soooooooooooo******* tattoos day DEMANDS loose BLACK top.*****
btw, It was painless! (i've lost lots of feeling there through recon anyhow.) So "me feet and bones" are ouchhh, but the tats, easy peasy lemon squeezy!
It's so strange how they have a little cup of terracotta pigment in solution and say, "so, would you like a little more pink in that or more brown?" Same with the size, "what size would you like them to be? that scar area is a bit big, shall we go for something like this?" (Showing me a various diametre stencil template). You just NEVER imagine you'd ever have to make those decisions! It's quite funny really! hehe
Sorry so much detail, but thought it might reasure some of you who might be heading that way in the future.
Anyhooooo, pretty whooped (i sound like a broken record with that one these days!) but spirits are fine. Hope you are all feeling at least ok but hopefully Peaaachy.
Coonie, You are sooo sharp with everyone's latest news, what a gem you are! Thanks for the vibes!
Shiny

Boy shiny...sounds like you had quite a day!!! (((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))) I'm peaaachy....
Makraz... sounds like your a great friend to her, she is fortunate to have you! Will be praying too...
Everyone else have a blessed evening....no housework for me today...but got alot accomplished outside... I love getting my hands in the dirt too, Coonie... so we're both strange birds...lol
-
Ohhh Shiny!!! It sounds like you had a time with those tats girl!! Makes ya wanna wear black all the time, huh? Glad you're in good spirits though:) I've wondered how all that stuff worked. I had a bilateral, but no reconstruction. Didn't know what all was involved with that, but now it makes me want to just stay...........well FLAT.......hehe The one positive thing about being flat is I got out in the pool yesterday dressed JUST LIKE MY DH
If any of my neighbors happened to look over the fence, well......they would have thought, hummmmmm.....but I guess they just shouldn't be looking now....should they?
I was just really trying to get some sun on my scars thinking it might make them "disappear".........naaahhhhh........didn't work
Anyhoo....so glad you got that done......remember..........black when there's BLOOD!!! hehe Sleep tight and stay peaaaaachy!!!!!!!
-
Hey Arnie........let's get together and play in the dirt.................ok?
-

-
shiny ~ Congrats on the new tats! Thanks for the detailed information. I will eventually only need one foob tattooed, they were able to save the other nipple during the initial BM.
coonie ~ So funny about swimming w/o your shirt on! Good for you!
-
-
Shiny, Sorry to hear about yoru tattoos. Mine never bled, but I'm sure they do for many. Sorry you had to go through that!
-
Maybe the whole gang would like to play.
-
Hey!! One of the songs I wrote on my very first album has a chorus:
"I like to dig, dig, dig in the dirt.
I like to dig, dig, dig in the dirt...... When the sun is in the sky and the ants go marching by,
I like to dig, dig, dig in the dirt!
I like to dig, dig, dig in the dirt!"
So we have a theme song -- already recorded!!
[I think I've mentioned about the depth of my work in the past, right?? LOL]
Ssssseriously easy to sing along ----- realllllllllllllll quick. More laughing.
-
Faith You are too funny! Perhaps you didn't realize the depth of our work here!! The song is perfect!
