Just a bit of a diversion here for a moment to say: Today I am four years out.
Four years ago today I became a different me. Born one woman, now another.... Kind of sad when I think about it. Sometimes I feel like I am looking down from above at someone living my life - where am I?!? I'm still trying to recapture the lost me.
Forever changed.
I want to thank all you lovely dear sisters for being here day and night lending your support, caring, love & hugs. It has meant more to me than you realize. Your friendships are invaluable.
♥♥♥♥

Happy Cancerversary, Val. I know what you mean. I changed and in nearly 9 years I have not found my way back. In some ways it has been a good change, in others.....
-
On another note, Patch will be here in two days! So excited. It will be different having a little one in the house for 10 days. Making up for lost time.
-
Wishing you many many more healthy years. We can all look for our old selves together. I know exactly how you feel.
Yay for Patch!

I had the best time talking to you today! Isn't she just the best everyone?!? And no, you did NOT talk my ear off !
Back later gals! -
Prayers to my friend Michelle aka luvRVing, she just found out she has brain mets.
-
deborye, i am sorry to hear that. Did she get to enjoy Paris?
-
Sheila - you are always a joy to speak with as Val says. Perhaps we should have a skype conference soon
I am at the cabin - my son and family came up yesterday where they broke the news that they are moving to CA because of a big promotion. I put on a good show but truly I am just hearbroken. My DD fell apart and she's already had a tough month. They are having a second baby also. I know, I can fly, blah blah but I will never know my grandchildren as I had hoped. ****Need to add that this shouldn't appear on facebook as they haven't told most people*****
Enough of being a bummer - I think I will take a week off until I have something positive to say!! Geezum Crow as my dad used to say.

(((((Diane))))))
Happy Cancerversary, Val!
Hope all the wedding prep goes smoothly, Meece. Enjoy Patch!
Sheila, you are too funny.
Sorry to hear about Michelle. grrrrr
How are you doing, Sandy?
Had a busy day Saturday - at the New England Championships - marching band. DS's band competed and DD's band performed an exhibition. DS's band came in 2nd of 6 after coming in last at previous competitions this year (except the one where they were the only band in their group (size)). So that was exciting. And DD's band was awesome again. The video we have doesn't do their performance justice. And I was bummed - the stupid battery ran out 1/2 way through Part 4 - so we missed a bit while we put the 1st battery back in. Grrrr. Well - that's what we get for not making sure the batteries were charged - DUH! If you want to check out the video on youtube it's under cc vids 12 (all one word) The performances are by date and then by part - so I didn't have to try to upload too big a file at once. If you check out 11/3/12 Part 2 - you can see the fire closer up than in other Part 2 videos on other dates. Their show is called UCMB on Fire. Pretty cool. Video is a little jumpy-it's hard to hold the camera still enough zoomed in too far - once he backed off a smidge, it stopped twitching and was still close enough to see the fire. Pretty cool.

Seriously? 1-2 inches of rain and 50-70 mph winds?
-
Oh, my, the posts have gone from such happy news to such sad news & very disappointing news.
Meecie, I am envious of you. Getting to spend 10 days with the little one, you will love it. Can't wait to hear about some wonderful moments shared.
Deb, I am so sorry to learn of luvRVing's dx. Crap, crap, crap...
Aw, Diane, I am sad for you. I am a seven hour car drive away from my cutie-pies & that is too far for me. I can't imagine them being in the next state.
Geezum Crow ~ I have never heard that. Like it.
Chris, how proud you must be. Yeah, I heard that on the news, too, rain & very strong winds headed your way. Just what everyone needs, huh?!? Maybe it will weaken.......one can only hope.
-
Hi all, been having a time getting posts to upload...lost a few. slow internet...
Chris, you must be soooo proud! Sounds like a musical family....are you a musician too?
I am also sorry to hear about Michelle. I knew her from another thread...did not hear this. Prayers for her...
Yup, I agree...Sheila is the best....had to search and find her here...
Val, four years is a darned big deal. So happy for you....((((VAL))))...I've only known you less than a year and you are very special - I can really relate to so many things you share. Here's to many more
My DD#2 is back in her CT house near the beach. She sent a photo of the 2 kids bundled up in jackets in front of her fireplace. Looks like no power yet.
Here's hoping the latest storm blows by quickly. I didn't pack my oil lamps...just in case.
Hugs to all,
Joan -
Yeah- who would think a week later we'd be worried about losing power again! Guess I'd better get some new ice. And get laundry done (IF the kids will cooperate)
DS was mowing the lawn/picking up leaves on Sunday and I went out to help. On the 2nd pass by the side of the house with a tarp full of leaves, I glanced up and saw that a piece of our siding was sticking out from the house. And a downspout ripped away from the house also. Nothing like surveying the damage in a timely manner...duh.
Musical? I wish. I did play clarinet and tenor sax in high school and alto sax in marching band in college (with one semester of clarinet in concert band), but then I stopped... I loved band- would have majored in it if I had more natural talent - but no matter how much I practiced, I was never going to be that good, so figured I'd better not try to make a career of it. My friend likes to make fun of me. We used to study together (actually she was studying - I was avoiding studying) and listen to classical music. Sometimes we would listen to pieces I actually had played in band and I would sigh and say, "I wish I were still playing." She still says that every once in a while to make fun of me. BUT IF I were still playing - I could have had an opportunity to play in the pep band at a Women's basketball game this Sunday. The band is going to be doing an exhibition at the National Championships (high school marching band) - so they won't be home to play at the game so they recruited alumni. Bummer. I've gotta get that sax out and get back into it. Of course, woodwinds get no respect in the marching band... I comment from time to time about how we used to complain that we were always stuck in the back of the field. DD said recently that she noticed the saxes were in the back. I said - See! I told you the saxes get stuck in the back. She said - where they belong. I said - Ahhh! Dem's fightin' words... lol
