Sheila, Chris, Linda, Deb, Sandy, Joan and Ducky - I will keep checking and hoping your power has returned and that you haven't had any other major problem with this storm! Thinking of you all (((TOL)))
-
((((TOL))))
Keeping everyone in my thoughts.
-
Had to check in first thing to see how my east coast friends faired over the night. The images on the news are worrisome. Please check in this morning if you can.
-
Ok here in CT - lost power sometime after 4pm - got it back in the middle of the night. Slept in this morning. I haven't been outside, but it looks like what was left of our trees from last year's snow fared okay. Got some water dripping into our back porch (we really need to get that fixed), but once the wind turned more from the south, it stopped. It leaks when we have driving rains from the east which doesn't happen that often - mostly during an occasional really bad thunderstorm or during tropical storms.
I hope everyone else gets power back soon and hasn't sufferered damage.
-
We kept the power but lost internet and cable. The butterfly bush is now standing up the way it should be....we are fine...Jersey is horrible...the whole AC boardwalk is gone. I am going to go out...hope everybody is ok..ducky check in!!

Sheila, Deb, and Chris - we await your update! Glad the rest of you are ok!
-
I'm with Diane, Sheila, Deb & Chris, are you okay?
Big thanks for the safety of our other sisters! -
I updated - things are still okay here - got power back around 3am Tuesday and it stayed on. They had cancelled school for Tuesday and Wednesday on Tuesday, but then sent out a message saying school would be held for Wednesday since 99% of our town had power. Kids were mad - I tried to tell them it's better than going in June and since it's Halloween and some teachers might not be able to make it in and there will be subs, they'll get credit for a day of school without having to do much...they didn't buy it.
Sheila, Deb, Joan, Ducky...hope everything is okay.
Diane, do you see the doctor today?
-
Glad to hear you are doing well, Chris and Sandy. Hope to hear from the rest of you today.
-
I did send Sheila's daughter a message on FB so maybe we will hear something. The New Rochelle newspaper indicates they had it really rough, perhaps Sheila ended up having to evacuate...
Fingers crossed to hear from Deb and Sheila today.

I just went on facebook and left messages, ducky check in plz!!!

Hi all, I had a great day Sunday and most of Monday. TV and internet went out Monday but I had power, baked, cooked 2 dinners and watched movie. (DH put on "Perfect Storm" but I couldn't watch much).
Power went out 11 PM Monday after height of storm. I have been out since, and disconnected from the world. Cell phone and 3G didn't work but it's coming back slowly.
Good news....no damage at all at my house. New roof is still on and no leaks. College had massive outages so three days of no work so far. Guess I'll wash my hair upside down in a pot of warm water tonight
We are near the bay so it came up over the road even yesterday...waves in the street. Our beaches were slammed but nothing like NJ. All still closed, so no looking at damages. Over 700,000 still without power on L.I. Everyone around my neighborhood got power back 'cept my area.
Am in Panera Bread charging up my stuff and on wifi finally. No empty seats here. Read the local Newsday and sat here crying for those who lost everything and those who died in the storm. My first view.
Thanks for all the thoughts....Don't know when I'll be back online but it is good to read your posts. I got so lonely at home!
I hope everyone is okay...am guessing that Sheila is OK but off line.
(((HUGS)))
Joan -
Thanks Joan for checking in and Panera what a great idea!!!
-
Glad to hear you are okay, your house is okay, and you are just waiting for power to come back - Hope it comes back soon!
-
I love you ladies. You care so much. No heat, hot water, or electric. Was at my daughter's on Monday night. Went home on Tuesday to see any problems. Found electric out. Emptied the fridge and freezer, and lugged all the shit back to my daughters. Stayed for dinner and needed to go home to my own bed. Was aching all over and needed real sleep. House was dark and freezing. Used candles and got a viscious headache from the sweet smell,so blew them out and went to bed. Had on a tee shirt, nIghtgown, and a robe with a hood. Did get decent sleep. Still no electric. Probably not till tomorrow night....maybe..no info about the shore house. But this too shall pass. Hugs to all my good friends.
-
ducky !!!!!!!!!!
So happy to hear from you!!!!!!! Glad you made it through the worst of it! Being without power sucks but being in our own bed is soooo sweet.
Joan, very happy to hear from you, as well. Very sad indeed......those who lost everything and especially those who lost their lives....
Chris, my happy state continues hearing from you.
Still worried about Sheila & Deb. Will keep checking BCO/FB for any word at all.
This is minor but here in MI we had extremely strong winds & snow/sleet from Sandy. We are lucky to be so far from the ocean.
Hugs to everyone!
-
Glad to hear that everyone has made it through okay.. Hope we hear from Sheila and Deb soon. Probably don't have power.
-
Thanks for checking in Ducky - we're glad you are okay. Hope the shore house is okay! Keep warm and safe!
I was wondering how the weather was in Michigan. Looked like you were getting the western edge of this monster.
Hoping Sheila and Deb are okay.
I found out that my old friend's (since 1st grade) childhood neighbor and close friend lost her summer home at the shore in CT - it was one of the ones that burned and the fire dept couldn't get to them because of the flooding. They will rebuild. Such destruction...
-
Just got word from Diane that sheila is okay. Diane messagd Sheilas daughter. I assume deb is okay just probably without power. She lives north of me. Just wanted to pass this info along. Wish I could post more but I am doing this from my phone and I'm an idiot when it comes to that.
-
You did a great job, Linda. Thanks for posting - and thanks Diane for contacting her DD. Now to hear from Deb...hope it's just a matter of no power and it comes back soon!
-
Linda - thanks for posting. I was on my iphone and couldn't sign on to this site so I am also an idiot
She was with Natalie this morning and is fine - just no services yet.
Had my appt. I am going to be fine. The very aggressive mammo I had in early Sept was because they thought they saw something. Four rough shots and an ultrasound and I was left with increasing pain. Surgeon checked and rechecked. I have serious inflammation and in his words "we, the medical community did this to you". Scar tissue was offended because it has been radiated, muscles were offended, capillaries were offended. So that is why I am in pain. Mucho Advil in my future.
-
Finally!!! $*%&$*(# Sandy was a BITCH, sorry sandy, LOL
We lost power at 2:30 pm Monday, I got out of work at 1. I was just able to check VM then the power went out. It came back on last night at 7:40pm last night, 30 hours. Then we had a thunder & lightning storm and while I was talking to DD in Bermuda, cable went out. We have Comcast phone, TV and Internet. Not damage here but other places had trees fall on there cars or house.
-
Power is back as of 15 minutes ago.........people are screaming on Centre avenue
i didn't see any news yet
I'm Ok just dirty and frozen......
We lost power Monday night at 10:15 PM
OMG it was terrible.....
Thank God no property damage......
I'll post little later again...I have to make phone calls
I have an emergency cell but was using it only for emergencies.
