Also, can't sleep so either melatonin and benadryl, don't matter but will get tomorrow, can't shut my head off.

Sandy, can you take lorazapam for sleeping? I do, it shuts my mind off. Thinking of you!! xoxo
-
I'm fine Sandy. Hanging in there. Praying for you dear friend and hoping things go well with your treatment. God help us all. Stay warm. Hugs.
-
I take lorazapam also 0.5 MG, I told my onc that I was waking up at 4 AM and not able to go back to sleep because my mind was going a mile a minute do to stress. I mostly take it just on the weekends.
-
Sandy -Hope the chemo kicks the cancer's ass and not yours! Hope you have a great time with the kids!
Meece - I'm excited for you and Patch.
Still don't have heat to this room. And now we've lost heat to the back porch too. Flaky resistor for the porch and bad wiring for this room. The theory is that the guy who wired the thermostat in this room-20 yrs ago - piggybacked it onto a phone line to the basement and when I switched to cable phone service, he cut the connection. The oil guy thinks we haven't had heat in here since May - that's hard for me to believe, but if the wire is cut, there really isn't another explanation. Now we have to pay an electrician to wire it right. What a pain. And we really don't have the money for crap like this...Why can't people do their jobs right? Freaking contractors.
I hope everyone has power and is warm and safe.
-
Sandy, am sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. It really sux to have a sister go through so much. Hope you will have a few good days between tx.
Up tonight listening to the wind picking up again after storming all day. Had snow/sleet at work all day. I sent my night students home (only 4 showed up)...then I left my car in the parking lot and went home with DH. Too slippery for my little car. My SUV in the shop, of course.
Linda, you got more snow than I've seen today. No snow at my house - just at work where we are at elevation 250 feet + -and just 32 degrees. Am grateful power is on...but so is my brain. Cannot take my mild sleep aid as I am afraid I won't get up for work.
Chris, hope you are bundled up and warm tonight. What a bummer in the midst of all this stormy chaos.Let me know how much snow you got. My DD#2 just got back into her Westport house yesterday (from Sandy). Am hoping she & kids are warm tonight. DD#3 was to fly to CA today...never heard if she went...trying not to worry.
Sheila, hope you stay powered up and warm.
Nite all, or is it good morning?
Joan -
Good morning all, woke up at 5 and bored so got on the puter.....
Jersey got snow and they are closing schools and have lots of late openings...we got nothing..40's today and in te 60's this weekend.....I bet it will be a weird winter...
Chris hope you are warm....
I have lorazapam but stop taking it when I went on zoloft, wonder if I can combine it. I can ask my family dr. Thanks for your thoughts....was there for 5 hours, George went with me cause he wanted to go to Modells and told him I didn't know nhow I was going to be today....got there at 11 they didn't hook me up til 140....couldn't find my file, then couldn't get a blood return out of the port, so then they had to find a vein to get blood out of and the only ones that work are 2 small ones in my hand, omg....was done at 430....poor George...he will never go again...but at least he sees when I tell him I am going to chemo what it entails.....BUT the nurses took care of him getting him whatever he wanted and making him popcorn......
HAPPY THURSDAY!!
SANDY
-
Oh, Sandy. I hope that the chemo isn't too rough on you! My two older boys each went to a chemo with me, I think it does help them to really realize just what it entails.
Patch and his mommy has a flat tire on their way here yesterday which waylayed them. They ended up driving halfway and found a hotel. They will be here sometime this afternoon. Better late and safe than not.
FDIL's floral designer backed out yesterday. Geesh, I wish she'd had listened to me when I told her to shop around early!
-
did she listen to anything she said....flat tire, hope she will not be in a fowl mood when she comes.....pix of Patch when he gets there....how r u, getting nervous?
sandy
-
Meece - I hope she can find a new florist quickly! And I hope Patch gets there soon (and safe)!
Sandy - sorry you had so many problems with chemo yesterday. Sorry it was an all-day affair for you and George, but I'm glad the nurses took care of him and he got to see what you are dealing with. Hoping you don't have SE's this time! And you have a nice nap later((((((HUGS)))))
Joan - I'm not sure how much snow we got - can't tell - 6 inches maybe? Wet, sloppy snow. It's melting. I hope your DD#2 was warm - she just lost power? - no damage, I hope. I hope DD# 3 didn't have any travel difficulties. And I hope you sleep better tonight.
Electrician will hook up our thermostat correctly tomorrow - This room isn't really that cold, surprisingly- it must be getting heat from the rest of the house. Still need to figure out why the thermostat in the back room isn't working consistently now... If it's not one thing, it's another.
How is everyone else doing?
-
Glad the electrician will be there tomorrow. We got about 5 inches of wet heavy snow. It's still sleeting now! COLD and yucky!
I'm glad George was with you too. Hopefully he will understand better now.
Glad you didn't lose power Joan!
Hope the tire is fixed and you have a blast!
Sheila??????
Hello everyone!
-
I'm gonna put a quick update.......
We lost power again at 6pm last night......one of the whatevers blew up next street.....
Fire Dept and every other Dept in NR were here....It scared us
Got the power back at 9pm.......just to find out we lost Optimum service......
Wind and snow was very heavy,,,,a big branch fell few feet away from my bedroom window......
No phone, Internet...until 4:15 this afternoon
I'm thankful we had power and warm......
I will post again later if everything remains normal
I'm not ignoring you my friends.....
-
Thanks for checking in Sheila. I was wondering if you power. I lost it again today but thank God it was only for a half hour. It's freezing!!
-
This is few blocks away where I live..........
Tomorrow i have MH.....snow is melting.....
Sandy....I hope you are resting without too much discomfort......I didn't bring any of my DD's to chemo....Imagine they both have fobias with needles...all they needed to see is my port......LOL
Meece.....I'm sure you are busy hugging little Patch...enjoy your time with him........You did more than enough for the wedding.....
Joan...i'm also grateful for the heat....the rest we can manage...right?
(((TOL))) for who lost powers...heat
I hope we won't see a storm like this ever again.....
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
-
Sounds like you had a scary night. I'm glad the power is back and you are warm and safe from falling tree branches. (((((HUGS)))))
My DD hates hospitals, etc. No way could I bring her to chemo- though she was only 15 at the time. I went by myself. It was okay. I watched The Big Bang Theory on dvd to keep myself entertained - when I wasn't sleeping from the premeds. It would have been a waste for anyone to come with me. It would have been nice if anyone had wanted to come with me though.
Hopefully we will have this one early snow like last year - and no more. I don't want to have to worry about DD driving to school and concert band in bad weather every other day.
-
chris...I had offers but honestly i didn't want anybody with me...what's the sense Benadryl made me drunk.....plus i didn't want any of my friends just sitting and holding my hand or whatever.......
Well...that's how i felt......
-
Sandy - I am also glad to hear that your son was with you and really hope that this chemo kicks ass, but not yours.
Sheila - that looks absolutely yucky. Snow is pretty but the aftermath often is not and I can't stand being without power, phone, internet, etc. I think we should get a generator at the cabin!
Meece - hope you are snuggling with Patch right now and not working your butt off with more wedding projects. Hope you found a florist and didn't have to become the florist.
Chris - hope they came and fixed everything for you today! If it's not one thing, it's another.
Hey there Ducky - nice to see you stopped in. You too, Deb. I love the occasional sleeping pill myself.
Linda - how did DS do driving in snow?
I am still distraught that I won't see my Shelby grow up as I had hoped. But, of course, I will survive - we are all survivors in multiple ways here at TOL. Trying not to feel too broken-hearted and putting on a nice happy face whenever needed. Had lunch with DIL and the baby today, smiled away, and then cried by myself driving home. And that's the way it will be. I think it's also harder because everything is a secret - the move, the new baby on the way, etc. so I can't really talk to local friends about it. Thank you all for being there.
Your post the other night was right on Sheila.
-
(((((((((((((((♥Diane♥))))))))))))))

thanks guys, feeling ok today but tomorrow is when I get sick....
diane I am so sorry, but as I said people gt transferree all the time so it couldn't be permanent, how far away are they from you.
chris thanks for replying.....6" really we got nothing...
Linda how is work?
shiela omg look at the snow.....sorry you had a rough time...but glad the power is on so we can talk to you....again call me anytime...
Meece countdown....are we ready for the wedding..
-
Diane, DS is home tonight since it's still snowy and icey (apparently not a real word??) out. He told me me it was 'scary' driving home last night. I'm glad he was scared!!
Work is BORING!!!!!
-
Yes - scared is good - they recognize the danger and hopefully will be careful.
DD told me she was glad she was driving the car she was driving yesterday - with anti-lock brakes and all-wheel drive...the tail lights were out in the car in front of her and she had to stop quickly in the snow... I'm glad she was able to stop, but hated to hear she had a close call... It's going to be a long winter.
Hoping you aren't sick tomorrow, Sandy. Keep us posted. (((((HUGS)))))
Electrician is coming tomorrow - I hope he can fix everything. I might have to have the oil guy come back to try again to fix the problem with the other room. The thermostat display comes back and the heat turns on when the heat comes on in the rest of the downstairs - controlled by a different thermostat. Then when the heat stops, the thermostat display disappears again...weird.
-
Linda - he will be extra careful because he was scared. Icy is a word. BTW - how long do you think you can hang in with boring job?
Sandy - hope you are feeling ok. It will be a 3 hour flight plus a 30 min drive as I understand it.
-
Sandy, I hope your SEs pass quickly. What an ordeal for you...glad you have another tx behind you.
Chris, 6" sounds like a lot to me. Glad your kids are learning to negotiate the snow. Good luck with the heating system.. My DD#2 in CT had flooding and had to replace all the duct work beneath first floor. They just moved back and are getting settled in.
Linda, sounds like you really got hit with this 2nd storm. It should be nicer this week end.
Meece, there has to be wedding drama, right? Hope by now the flowers are resolved...and you will be able to relax and enjoy. So glad you will have your special time with Patch.
Diane, I feel your heartache. I have grandkids within 2 hours, but two are 5 hours and it is different, but not impossible. I keep in touch and visit ...always the week after Christmas as both boys have BDs that week. My youngest Gd in NJ (22 mos.) has decided she must call me by herself several times a week. She knows my voice now when I call. :-) My DS 30+, single, just moved to Chicago and I had to smile and be happy for him when I was feeling devastated. I hope you find many ways to keep in touch and visit.
Sheila, I cannot believe what happened near your house. I am surprised power was restored so quickly.
Glad you are OK and staying warm...guess we are more fortunate than many.
Here's to a better week end!
Joan -
I took a short break form Wedding last night and sat in the floor with Patch playing with his daddy's Fisher~Price Little People city. It kept his attention for a long time. He was so cute when Grandpa made a plane fly and made noise, and he tried to make the same move and noise with his plane.
Once he was tucked in bed, I had a couple bridesmaids come over and I measured for one's hem and the other was a first fit. It fit her very well, so I only have to take in one spot in the armpit. Mother will be over here tomorrow afternoon and hopefully we will finish all of the dresses. I can put DIL (Patch's mommy) to work helping me sew the sashes.
Sandy, I hope you won't feel as bad this time.
Hugs to all of you!
-
Good Morning
ATD MH at noon.
♥
-
Hahaha Sheila - you are utilizing the senior texting list that Linda provided.
-
Hmmm ATD.... Hope you have a good MH session.
Joan - glad your DD's repairs are done.
Meece - hope you have a lot more time with Patch in the coming days.
Electrician fixed my problem with one room - now waiting for the oil co guy to come back to try to fix the other room. And I need to find out whether we have yet another problem (DD had a cold shower) or whether we just used too much hot water this morning. I did do 2 loads of warm washes before DD got up - but we usually don't run out of hot water. it just never ends with this stupid boiler.
One thing I did find out was that I was right to be concerned 20 yrs ago about whether the stupid contractor had put insulation in the wall between the house and the room over the garage. We had left that room unfinished. As it started to get colder the first year, I thought we should maybe hire someone to put radiators in that room - I thought it was possible that the contractor had not put insulation in that wall in case we never finished that room. I was right to suspect it. When the electrician ran the wire up from the basement through the garage to the thermostat, there was no insulation in his way in that wall. Of course if we hadn't finished the room and the contractor had put insulation in the wall between, we still would have had cold air coming in through the door to the hallway... Good thing we finished it.
-
good morning...so far so good, nauseous that is it, really sucks waiting for something to happen....Chris glad everything is almost fixed, and you have the funds to pay for it...
Scarey is good for teenagers, they seem to not be scared
of anything....
Linda, boring at work sucks make the day go long, what are your hours.
Meece...so happy that he is there and you are spending time with him....he remembers you and loves you.....the wedding, well good for you.....you need a vacation after this wedding.....
hi shiela, val, joan, ducky, and anybody else I missed..
Sandy
-
Sandy, "so far so good". We can like that. Hope it continues. ((Sandy))
Meecie, have funnnn!! I know you are! And, as Sandy said, after the wedding you will need a vacation & you will deserve one!
Chris, after a fair amount of time in the home we had built, we found so many places the contractors didn't do the insulation right, it was stunning. Work for the DH & additional cost for us!
((Sheila, Joan, Linda, ducky, Diane - to all the wonderful sisters here))
-
I am at work now and am bored out of my mind. Surfing the internet.
Sounds like fun Meece! I loved Little Peoples toys! Enjoy!!
Snow is melting rapidy as I hear it is warming up out there.
Still wondering how all those in NY and NJ etc are making it. A friend I met on BCO who lives in Masapequa NY still does not have power. Said the boiler is ruined too so when they do get power back, they will have to replace it before they have heat.
