Be safe Sandy!! You too Ducky!!
-
think it will be fine!! Thanks tho!!
-
It is so calm outside, it's hard to believe the weather will be turning wild in a couple days. Went to the HS football game last night - weather was perfect. Cool, but not cold - no wind. After the game, went to the store to stock up. Got some water, more soups, bread, crackers, peanut butter, jams, and storm snacks. We're all set now - lol.
-
Good for you Chris...I'm one of those that don't stock up....I have water...2 flashlights a plenty of candles....
Let's hope Sandy will be nice to us...right Sandy?
The next Hurricane is Tony and the last one is Valerie lol.......
We hardly loose power but it might happen.....
♥
-
We always lose power, even when it's not weather related. DH is getting gas now. I have margaritas and peanutbutter so I am all set!
I like how you think Sheila....the last hurrican is Valerie!!
-
TOL members were very involved with Hurricanes this year
First Chris...... then Debby
I want a Hurricane named after me....
Cream of wheat warmed me up nicely...maybe I should get GF and smash it until it's powder and use a spoon to eat it......Do you think i will choke
lalalalalalalala
-
Smash them and then soak them in Sam.........soft food!!
-
hahahahahhahaa
I missed GF so much..maybe I can buy and smell the package.........
How are you Linda/
-
Put them in chicken broth or tomato soup!

So Ive been googling away for a few days because I can't see the surgeon until next Wednesday. I've been having some pain and heaviness in the bad breast as well as some pain along the sternum. This all started two months ago after a mammogram - I was even black and blue along the sternum. Frankly I've vacillated between freaking out and thinking I am over-reacting. I was reading about truncal lymphedema but then I came across this little blurb about celluliltis after mammogram and remembered Deb's experience.
CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS AND DIAGNOSIS
The diagnosis of cellulitis is made clinically. The diagnosis is based on characteristic skin findings of breast cellulitis: diffuse breast erythema, edema, tenderness, and warmth that may occur in a delayed fashion after surgery and radiotherapy [1,10-14]. Systemic symptoms are uncommon, occurring in only 6 of 50 cases in one series, and most often consisting of low-grade fever [6]. The majority of cases occur more than 12 months after surgery [15]. Often women have multiple episodes of infection [5]. The episodes of infection often follow a mammogram and are related to the presence of a fluid collection.
The inflammation begins at the lumpectomy site and can extend to the remainder of the breast, the anterior shoulder, back, and ipsilateral upper extremity. The breast is more prominently involved than the other sites and a breast abscess can accompany the cellulitis. (See "Breast conserving therapy".)
It really fits my situation - looking forward to finding out.
-
Diane....Find out so your mind can rest.....hugs♥
I went out and bought some comfort food (junk food)
GF can bu used in soup but I'd like the crunciness...I will use the meat tenderizer to crush them.....

Het Linda. Not looking good here. We are going to get the who deal. I am going to my daughters, just not to be in this house around all the trees. More concerned about the shore house. That is getting a direct hit. It is coming right across the DelArare Bay sand I am a couple blocks from there.. Oh we'll. thanks for thinking about me amd Sandy.
-
Stay safe Ducky! I'll be thinking of you. I hope the shore house is OK!!! Glad to hear you are going to be with family. ♥

Hi Val, we were both up at 2 AM...today I slept until 10:30!! DH went fishing and we had fresh striped bass for dinner.
Watching the WS and must be as painful for Detroit fans as it was for NYY fans last week....still plenty of games left.I have not had a garden since BC. It's so much work to go straighten it out....so the holly bushes are taking over because the deer won't eat them until there is nothing else. They eat everything. We will have to get fences and even that may not help. I love living in the country too and as much as I miss my flowers, I love seeing the bambis in the yard and the rabbits and birds at the feeder...
To all on the east coast, this is a major storm event....be safe and don't go out too soon after. (((Sheila))) that's you too...
Good night to all,
Joan -
Ducky...Happy to see you are back
Keep us updated...We should be updating each other
Hugs to All♥
-
Joan..We were posting the same time.....
Be safe....I'm half a mile from the water.....
LET'S ALL KEEP POSTING SO WE KNOW WHAT"S GOING ON...............♥
-
Hi Joan! Stay safe!
-
Hi Makratz, I just sent a FB note to my friend in Boston...hope the storm causes no inconvenience there.
Sheila - I also am less than a mile from the bay and less than 2 miles from ocean. Hope I'm up high enough - never had a problem at this house (20 feet elevation). Water could get piled up in L.I. Sound with no place to go...but hoping for the best for all.
I hope I can stay in touch - at least the first day I'll have computer - not sure about internet but phone may have it.
Ducky, NJ is in the cross hairs this time....be safe and try not to worry about things we can't control....will be thinking of you.
Joan -
Now They are talking about Tornado warning......
My only worry is if the rain doesn't drain fast enough...will be in my LR since there is only an about 10 inches gap between the concrete and my room.....
Have no flood Insurance......OMG I'm scaring myself..I better stop......
-
Sheila, try not to worry... be safe. Do you have a 2nd floor? Just move or protect what you can and then keep yourself from harm. (((Hugs)))
-
My cellulitis came overnight. I did have a low grade temp. 99.2 then it went up to 101.1. I think mine was caused from a bug bite. The little bugger must of gotten in my bra when I was working in the garden. That's the only thing I can think of. It's gone now but the breast tissue is thicker and may or may not go away. It showed up on my mammo and MRI.
-
Still keeping an eye on Sandy.
-
Oh you guys, please be safe. Dang storm! I remember when I was on Okinawa when I was between 12-16 yrs old & when we had Typhoons with the wind near 100 mph, we would be up at night (why is the worst always at night??) with white Navy towels mopping up water that would come in around the windows that were from the ceiling to just about ground level & up through the tile flooring, wringing them out in buckets & starting all over, and doing this all night.
(Is that a run-on sentence??!)
I will never forget the howling of the wind & my Dad boarding up windows & doorways, it was terrible. I hope it is not that serious for you east-coast gals.
I'm on the storm list?? Wow, I was wondering if I'd ever be. Me, little ole Valerie?!? Harmless, not a storm in my bones, Valerie??!!
Hey, ducky, it is so good to hear from you! Missed ya!
Joan, oh, my, fresh bass. Yum-me! Yeah, the WS is a downer. No one has ever come back to win the series after 3 games down & the way we're playing, we sure as h*ll won't be the first. Yeah, we're getting what we did to the Yankees.....
You know, Sheila, if I liked GF, I'd try sprinkling (after crushing them, of course) on all sorts of things: toast maybe? Cream of Wheat? Ha-ha! Just kidding, of course. (?) Not even smashed up GF could make Sam taste better, IMHO.
Diane, so you are thinking it could be cellulitis? That article sure makes one think. That's something to be aware of, that's for sure. I'm going to print that portion & keep it; may need to pass that along sometime.
Keeping all of you in my prayers, especially you in the storm path.
-
Ducky! So glad you checked in. Glad you will be with family during the storm. I hope the storm doesn't do any damage to your property!
Sheila - when you said you had candles, I read it as "candies." Goes to show you what my priorities are.
Diane - this crap just doesn't end, does it? We're waiting with you while you wait to see the doctor. ((((((HUGS))))))
Stay safe, Joan.
Linda, I hope DH was able to reschedule his trip so he'll be home for the storm.
Deb - did you see me wave as I passed through Chelmsford tonight? I was in Lawrence to catch the end of the marching band championships. DD was there performing in the UConn band exhibition. I had hoped my friend (my friend since 1st grade) who lives near there could join us at the competition, but she was heading down to CT - so we met halfway for appetizers at a restaurant. Hadn't seen her in years - was so nice to see her.
(((((((TOL)))))))
-
Val - so glad to hear you're not planning to wallop us like Sandy. lol
Sorry you can't enjoy your gf, Sheila. When I had my mouth wired shut (which I wish I could have done again - lol - and I'm sure my family does too), I couldn't be bothered crushing, mushing, or blending food. I just drank Ensure for 6 weeks. It really wasn't that bad. What was annoying though, was the day I came home from the hospital and had a stupid syringe to try to squirt the Ensure with, my parents and husband-to-be had filet mignon for dinner. Nice. (I soon realized I could just drink the Ensure through my teeth and didn't need to use the syringe.)
