Thinking Out Loud.....

i'm gonna make myself a cheap emergency soup Ramen Noodles...I like it but has too much salt.......
Well this is an Emergency right? It's so cold here....
Good Night everyone....♥
-
I boil the Ramen noodles and drain the water - then while the noodles are still hot, I put a slice of cheese (or 2 if I'm not watching my calories) and melt the cheese in the noodles, then add some of the broth mix for flavor. To cut down on some of the saltiness, I don't add all the mix. my friend used to make it that way in college. She called it Snoodles. Now my kids call it Snoodles. lol
-
Just checking in on everyone. Saying prayers for everyone's safety.
My Tigers got swept .........
Just like we did to the Yankees ...........
What goes around
comes around ......
-
I have never had Ramon Noodles.
-
Sorry about your Tigers, Val. I'm a Red Sox fan (and I guess not a very good one) so I didn't pay much attention to this season...
Oh - and I didn't answer you, Joan. It's actually pretty quiet here in the middle of the state. Had some gusts earlier, but not hearing much now. I opened the window earlier and heard a breeze, but nothing bad yet. It's the shore that's going to take the beating with surge and high tide and the full moon. I hope you will be out of harm's way.
-
Val, guess we can put this BB season behind us....it was good while it lasted for our teams.
Just wait 'til next year....maybe the Red Sx will be back in the competition too.
Chris, I think I'd like Snoodles better than the noodles...good idea!
No alarm clock tomorrow....no work...no plans!
Still quiet - winds come in bursts, then die down. No rain is good...keeps the trees upright!
Hope we all sleep through the storm!
JoanPS - I asked my son in CA if he felt the big quake but he did not. I am so glad for no tsunami damage. Sheila - at least the warning system is working!
-
The quake wasn't that big of one, and neither DH nor I felt it. I think since I have grown up with them, that I just don't feel the mild ones. In the last 7 days CA has had at least 12 earthquakes of at least 2.5. We live about 45 miles from the San Andreas Fault, but don't feel many "big ones".
You EC girls take all necessary precautions to be safe. Hope your shore house fairs well, Ducky.
Gotta be a Giant's booster, but only because they are from CA. Sorry for those of you hoping for a different outcome.
Clock is ticking on the wedding and I hit my limit yesterday. THree of the four dresses are finished except for hemming which will happen when they have their shoes. I am working on the last one which I have had to add 4 inches to the pattern, and she won't be here to try it on until maybe next weekend! Only one came by for a fitting, and FDIL spent the whole day yesterday in LA shopping for a suit for her brother! I asked DS last night what HER family was doing, and he had no idea! 18 days and counting and I feel like MOB.
-
That's what you get for being talented...just kidding. I will be a bad MOB - I don't have any sense when it comes to these things...(or much of anything, really...) I think I will start now suggesting that eloping is the way to go - lol.
Well, when everything is beautiful, you can sit back and know you did so much to make it happen. Hope they all come for their fittings on time and everything fits perfectly and looks gorgeous!

Monday.....Our Sandy is good so far....
Some drizzling and winds picked up........10:30 am East Coast
I love Ramen Noodles...never thought not to put the entire seasoning package...what a good idea......
Meece...God Bless You for your talent.....are they taking everything you're doing for granted ????
Joan...I just heard there are 1500 power outages in LI......must be much worse there........

12:07 in the afternoon.....nothing to report...
DD who lives few minutes from me lost power....I don't know why.......
Stay safe...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Just touching base to see how my "sisters" are doing.
I continue to keep you in my prayers....

Every year I gift myself something for Christmas.......
So I thought today was the perfect day to start.....
I tried to get into my Bed Bath & Beyond account to use my my 20% off.....all the red signs are popping saying wrong email...wrong password or I'm not registered as a customer......now does that make any sense since I've been receiving emails from them every other day...
Amazon.com is next since they are recognizing me as a costumer........
-
Sheila, wow, nothing to report?? Retail therapy must be making you oblivious to what is going on around here...
South shore of Long Island is now up to 50+ mph winds. I see parts of my yard across the street...DH is napping so we'll get the stuff later. I took a walk to the mailbox and got soggy mail. Took a video at noon - much worse now. Wind howling; steady light rain, tropical style. 40,000 power customers now out....lots more to go. I do think i will lose it...don't see how not - winds coming are 80-90 at center plus add in the 18mph movement of the storm....sorry for NJ. DD in DC is doing well so far with light rain. SIL in Millbrook NY getting strong winds, no rain. First high tide today has flooded most of coastal L.I. Tonight 2nd high tide arrives with full moon and the hurricane making landfall. Could be historic. I do not expect to see any salt water make it up my way although I have a salt water creek less than 1/4 mile away... The trees will be covered with salt after storm. Westhampton Beach has not had ocean water on Main Street since 1938...could happen.
I've got a few more things to do before possible power goes out...so will check in later.
Meece, how amazing that you are making dresses. I hope they all fit and that you are done in plenty of time so you can enjoy your time.
My heart truly goes out to anyone on the east coast who is going through treatment or surgical recovery during the storm. Things are stressful enough without all these cancellations and dangerous conditions.joan

2:39 PM....Winds are picking up
Joan when I said nothing is going on I meant flooding or power outage ...
If this wasn't called a Hurricane I would said it's a nasty day.......
they are saying the big impact will be after 8 PM
Stay safe
-
Wind is gusting. And it's raining. Still have power. Did some laundry and ran the dishwasher and vacuumed. And DH got some ice, so we can keep milk and stuff cold if/when we lose power.
Hope the storm isn't as bad as the storm of '38 for the coast.
Our local station showed a picture someone sent in of a trampoline that got blown into the powerlines... dangerous out there.
