Thinking Out Loud.....

And remember the schools might be closed too....

I hope all of you are unaffected by the storm! From our local news, they show paths, one of which would leave you alone!
Sandy - so nice that you are feeling a bit better.
Val - I love your story about your granddaughter. I hope to hear the same some day.
Sheila - sounds like you are feeling better but cold?
Meece - I bet you are sewing away!
Linda - how are you enjoying the job so far?
Ducky - where are you?
Chris - I am always impressed by your dediction to exercise. You can't possibly be overweight.
Okay, life is crazy for us still. Not loving this tiny apartment. It flooded yesterday - a pipe broke in the wall. So awesome. Getting very excited about the cosmetic facelift we are doing on the house we bought. But I need it way more. DD is doing ok without boyfriend, they are being "friends".
Thinking of you all, even when I am not writing.
xoxo
-
Diane - glad DD is doing ok. Men can be more trouble than they're worth. Sorry about the flood - at least you don't have to pay to fix it, right? You'll be in your new home in no time.
Unfortunately, my dedication to eating sweets is greater than my dedication to exercise so I can't get ahead on the weight loss front. Lose a few pounds, gain them back, repeat. I am right smack in the middle of the overweight range of the BMI index. I have a very small frame (size 3 1/2 engagement ring) so I might look like I'm not quite at FAT as I really am. But because my frame is so small, I don't think it is meant to be schlepping all this weight around.
Thanks for the encouragement - I feel more motivated to do more elliptical. I did some earlier - then thought maybe I could get a run in - but then it got dark - so back to the elliptical with me. Ate too many "fun size" candies today. Curse you, Halloween!
-
Not loving the job. It's so boring. I am using the time to educate myself of software packages that I haven't used in 13 years. We'll see how long I last.
My oldest didn't have school today or tomorrow. We'll see what happens next week. DH is supposed to be in NYC on Mon Tues and Wed. He's trying to reschedule. He has to.....I don't know how to do the generator, or the thingy (technical term) in the basement that controls the generator.
How are you all?
-
wow I am really out of the loop, Linda when did you get a job? so sorry!!! Did not realize that it was that cold up north.....
yea Ducky again where r u...
shiela how r u?

Good to hear from you Sandy!! I got a job with my BIL's company the beginning of Sept. You were ill, you are excused. lol Hope you are doing much better. Are you still at home?
When will you be in the new house Diane? Hope you are unflooded now!
-
Unflooded and repaired. Laid on the couch while the apt mgr dealt with it. We will be in the new house around Dec 16 - at that point floors will be in and walls repainted. Anything else can wait till after the holidays just so long as I am not in this apartment for Christmas
Gosh, I am watching national news - superstorm is what they called it and frankenstorm on another! Stay safe ladies.
-
We are only going to get rough seas. Sandy's a pussy cat
-
I heard those terms too. Too funny.
So glad you'll be in your new home for the Holidays. Such a nice way to celebrate moving!
-
Except Diane and Meece.....
We are all on under the mercy of Sandy.......
Ducky.....Ducky...oooh Ducky...where are you my friend....♥
Probably the markets will be crazy next 2 days......
Yes..I'm feeling much better but still very sore and puffy..I cancelled today's denture fitting.........
-
We love you Sandy...♥
Good Night
-
Stay safe my East coast sisters. Stock up and ride it out.
-
Sheila, Hi...
Did you get your heat fixed? I am thinking this storm is looking more like it wants to be in New York...I ordered hurricane lamps and oil on Amazon so I wouldn't have to fight the crowds in the stores. Maybe if I get really prepared, it won't come.
Hope you have a nice week end before the storm!
Joan -
Yes, my east coast sisters, stay safe! They are even talking ....... ewww .....
snow
here in MI next week because of the movement of Sandy & the cold air mass coming down from Canada meeting up.
I am so, so glad you are feeling better Sheila.
Diane, in your new home by Christmas, how great will that be?!? I wouldn't care if I didn't even get my tree in the place I really wanted it, just as long as it was a Christmas tree & I was not in a tiny apartment anymore. Egg nog, here I come!!
Chris, I am using that app myfitnesspal.com, it helps me on one hand & on the other, well, I still eat something I shouldn't
& then have to add it to the Diary, feel quilty as all hell, then move on to the next day. I tell myself the total calories for the week will be okay even if I go over on an individual day.
Can I get away with that?!? I much prefer the fun size candies, my gosh, my DH came home the other day with a huge box of full-size Milky Way bars from Gordon Foods. I asked him, "For goodness sake, why in the H did you do that??!!" DH says, " Well, we can have one when we watch the Tigers." Well, dear DH, it isn't helping that either (like my waistline) cos they have lost the first two games!!
It was 78 here today & supposed to not even get out of the 40's this weekend & next week. Yikes! I walked around outside today looking at my flower garden that looks like crap, and I mean crapola crap. The sky was so blue & it smelled so good. I love living in the country even tho I grew up in the cities for the most part, or Navy bases.
Late again & I'm still up,
((Sandy)) ((Deb)) ((pt)) ((Meecie))
Yes, Ducky, we miss you!
-
Hi Joan!
-
valjean, you are up late. Bedtime for me and you.
-
Full-sized candy bars - dangerous. Then again, I probably eat 10 times as much when they are fun-sized - lol.
I really don't want to deal with this storm... A year has not been enough time to recover from last year's storm. And I didn't even have it that bad- only 4 days without power - not 11 or more like some people.
I hope your DH can reschedule his trip so he can be home with you for the storm, Linda. My DH has me nervous. Last night he said he didn't think the storm would be that bad. I can't tell if he's being facetious or is in denial. Either way, that doesn't help me to feel secure at all.
So many things to do - don't know where to start. Think I'll start with ironing and putting the 5 loads of laundry away that I did yesterday...with more that need to be done. So I had to get up and tell DS to get his band socks out of the laundry basket and to give me his band shirt so I could iron it before school today...He isn't coming home between school and the football game tonight, so he needed all his band stuff before school. I wonder if he brought his band tote bag to school...He doesn't think about anything until he needs it that minute. I think I am going to go out of my mind. Why won't these kids do ANYTHING for themselves?!
-
Well, let's take Sandy at her word and trust she will be kind to all of you East Coast gals. It is finally cooling down some. It was in the high 80s over the weekend, and got down to the low 70s yesterday. It is supposed to be back in the high 70s to 80s today and tomorrow.
-
Diane, I can imagine how happy you'll be to be in your new home by the holidays.
Sandy it is really good to see you back here frquently. It tells me you are doing better.
Linda, hopefully the job will get less boring for you.
Valjean, I have been so busy this week, I haven't checked on my garden. I almost dread to see it.
Sheila, hope all the pain is gone by now.
Chris, someday your DS will mature and you will be shocked how much he can do for himself. What's even more shocking is how he will act like he has always been that way. Take this from the mother of three grown boys/men.
-
"He will act like he has always been that way." Do you mean he will deny being a disorganized mess or that no one will be able to tell that he used to be a disorganized mess?
-
Today I am busy doing word searches at work. SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
On the bright side, you are being paid to do them?
-
Linda, well at least you are working your brain...
Thanks Meece!!
Diane, relaxing letting other people do the work, works for me
(((VAL))) (((PT))))
Shiela how is Macy's not sure if I have a job there still?
Deb, thanks for thinking I will be nice...
Not sure what is going on here with the hurricane, they always get crazy when they just mention hurricane!!
Sandy
-
Sandy, you need to prepare for the hurricane. Have your kids help you. It sounds like you will be close to it's landfall.
-
I've lost track...Sandy, are you home or did you go home just for a little bit? Current storm track does look like Hurricane Sandy is headed toward our Sandy... And Ducky too! Hope you are okay Ducky!
-
Am leaving work at 3 today, early before I poke my eyes out from boredom.
-
The governer announced State of Emergency for NY.....
We'll see...what happens
(((TOL)))
-
-
Looks like Sandy is going to miss MA but PA, NJ, NY, and some of CT
-
yea they are saying it is going to come here......
Chris I am home now....but, chemo on tuesday so that plan is to go to Jamie's after cause we don't know how the chemo will affect me.
WOW they are canceling things now for the next couple of days
Happy Weekend!!
Sandy
