I'm wondering if the stone started to break up and then got lodged again. I got a letter from the doctor's office changing the follow-up from ultra sound (on July 10th) from seeing him on the 21st to the 23rd! That screws up my work week. Do they think I'm at home waiting to see another doctor?

Cathi, we will try to help you not let a guilt trip settle in, but I can see potential problems. I feel for you so badly. MAYBE she is going through the same thing and is saying that she will be GRATEFUL to be with you and to behave while she is under your roof. Hopefully Ed will be a calming influence. Now stop thinking about it for a whole month!

Sue...they're NOT wrinkles. Everyone has them if they squint, even five-year olds.

Jane - Congratulations on your new grand-niece! We're in-between generations right now in my family (siblings getting too old and grandkids too young for babies), but my next-door neighbor just had a little boy on Monday, so I'll get my baby-fix. But she's so-o-o far away from you.

Judie...gotta love those Photoshop filters, lol.

Cathi - my sister is at her beach house in Indian Shores until this weekend, when she returns to NY. She's just over the border from Indian Rocks. If you walk south on the beach, she's the two-story, gray house with pine trees, and probably has sign with rental info since she usually rents the house for income. Today's my nephew's birthday and they are celebrating it there.

Lisa - have a nice time with Wayne. I hope things are as good in person as they've been so far through phone, email, etc.

Linda - at least there isn't that morning scramble to get them off to school. While I still have to get myself off to work, I don't have to keep popping in to make sure my daughter's awake and getting herself dressed. It seems very relaxing to only be responsible for myself, lol.

Nancy, maybe your sister could rent her house to Cathis daughter!!

I agree about not having the morning rush.  I just wish my kdis would sleep.  They are up at 6 a.m..  Aren't teenagers supposed to sleep?  My boys never napped, never required much sleep.

BTW, now we have thunder to entertain us!

Linda, I woke up to thunder this morning at 5:30 am!!! my alarm doesn't go off until 6:00. Penelope has been getting me up between 5:40 and 6:00 the past two weeks. Next week is my vacation (office taking week off for July 4th), I hope she doesn't get me up before 7:00 am. since John works 3rd shift weekends he stays up most of the night during the week and when I am getting up he is usually going to bed. Occasionally he is in bed when I get up. I can tell because the light is out in his room. He has accidentally woke me up when he is getting a late night/early morning snack in the kitchen. He tries so hard not to make any noise and doesn't turn on the light.

I do read daily but don't always post anything.

Oh Nancy your sis isn't having very good weather thus far this week, today is a complete and total wash out, they say by Friday all will be better for the holiday weekend.  I will have to look for her place the next time I head down that way,  gosh she is only just a mile or two from me. Great Idea Linda but I am sure my DD can't afford anything on the beach,  she will have to go across the bridges on either side of me,  rentals there tend to be at least $300 or more less per month,  and that way she is close enough but far enough too - LOL

I had forgotten how absolutely impossible it is to get a Chihuahua outside in the rain to Pee - OMG  I look like a darn fool with my shorts and sloppy boots and huge umbrella to cover her precious little butt from rain,  and she is looking up at me like "are you nuts" "my feet and A$$ are getting wet!!!!!!!!!!"  She doesn't mind the thunder like the one I had years ago - but she hates wet grass.

Cathi, if you think getting a small chihuahua outside to go pee, try a 55 lb basset hound! At least you can pick her up and carry her around. This morning, I was in my oversized t-shirt and cotton shorts, Penelope went out the back door at first but before I could get her hooked on the cable run, she was turning around trying to go back inside. I managed to get the cable connected to her collar and went back on the back porch to get clothes out of the dryer and she was huddled on the step waiting for me to open the door and let her in. I did go right back out, pushing her off the step with the door, hooked her on the leash and refused to take her inside until she pee'd. I didn't have an umbrella but fortunately it wasn't raining hard. and Penelope hates the thunder. We only had about 4 or 5 bolts of lightning and thunder in a 20 minute period with some showers this morning but Penelope was still upset with the thunder.

Well Shelia I guess we were both quite a sight.  our yard is completely fenced so Margo gets free run,  but when its raining/wet I have to carry here away from our door/patio slab it has a awening and she will stand there as well,  but she runs back to the door 3 or 4 times before she gets the fact she's not going inside until she goes. If I don't stay out with her in the wet she won't move,  on dry days I can't get her back in the house. We love our pets don't we!!!!

Ha Ha!!  Your dog stories remind me of my little Tinker.  She HATED the rain!  I wasn't as nice as you, Cathi.  I never took an umbrella out there to shield her.  I never even accompanied her.  She'd come back, and I'd say,"Oh no, you don't!  Go pee!!"  She knew I meant business, so she'd go back out.  Often, she'd stand there and stare at me with this pathetic look on her face.  Eventually, she'd do her business and I'd let her back in.  She was such a little character.

Congrats on the grand-niece!  What a shame that she lives so far away!

    Hugs,

    Karen

Yeah Ed says I spoiler her  tons.  He always does the first AM call,  my hero,  I am not a good morning gal until I have coffee,  so he gets up turns it on and takes Margo out,  but he doesn't stick around either if its raining,   he tells her to do her stuff and he'll be back and the little snot does.  Just like kids they know what they can get away with.

    Hi sisters!

    an answer to Barbe first....

Barbe said....Lisa, wouldn't he have known that he had to get his tux fitted? Does that mean his son lives in Cleveland permanently as opposed to just school? I find it interesting he is coming in now that you have just told him you would go out there....Undecided Oh, doubting Thomas that I am...sorrry

Don't be sorry Barbe...I am glad you ladies are my "big sisters".  No...I had told him before I would fly up, we just had not arranged anything yet.  He called me...shortly after I walked in the door. I think he was worried about had I set the plans in motion...I don't think he realizes...that it's not a problem if I had..cause I fly free..I would just cancel it..but I had not even made the reservation yet.  Anyhow..he said..I have good news..my son just called and said, his groomsmen are coming in that weekend for a fitting for the tux's and he wanted his dad to come at the same time.  Since most of the guys in the wedding live in Rochester...Wayne is going to drive in with them.  Yes, his son lives in Cleveland..he is the asst. county prosecutor there.  So...he said, won't that be better for a first meeting? That way you don't have to travel.  I thought..yes..much better.  So, we will meet somewhere in between, probably for dinner.  Completely safe ladies...I will be asking for your opinions next week as it gets closer!

Jane...congrats on the new grand niece!! 9 lb...that's a good size baby, but she was overdue...thank goodness for mom that it was only a 2hr labor!

Cathi....thanks for asking about my results of my scan.  I FORGOT about it! lol...I haven't heard anything...that should be good news..right?  You really have had the storms down there.  I know our flights were delayed yesterday from Orlando and Tampa, due to the ramps having to shut down because of severe storms.  Try not to stress hon about the upcoming party, the dumbass and your daughter's family coming....take it one day at a time!  I can relate to your anxiety with Amanda....that is what I deal with Alise.  She is good at putting guilt trips on me too.  She has gotten better though.  Yes...sometimes I am tired of life!  I think that is a normal feeling for most.

Linda...enjoy the kids being off....summer is way too short! I am surprised they are up early.  How old are your boys?  Mine sleep in till 11 or 12!

We have cool wet weather now too.  Where is the summer this year??

    back to work.

    xoxo

Lisa, Sounds like a nice meeting is planned.  Just be careful.  I know you will!

My boys are 10 and 14.  They have ADHD and are very hyperacive, thus requiring little to no sleep.

More rain, thunder, hail....when is summer geting here??

Linda you have had basically NO SUMMER so far,  I have to admit I am rather enjoying today,  even cooking real food for dinner,  have been craving spaghetti,  but has been to hot to cook or eat anything so heavy for the past few weeks, we have been living on salad,  shrimp and tuna. But I am eating a MEGA plate of pasta tonite

Lisa I would say no news is GOOD NEWS. But be sure and give us the 100% all clear.

Sue, the le therapist I went to told me to try to stay out of the heat. He said that the hot temps can make the swelling worse. I went off this morning and forgot to put my glove on. I will have to make sure to wear it tomorrow, my spot behind my thumb seems to be more puffy today than when I wear the glove. Just make sure that you are drinking plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated!!!!

I don't know about putting sunscreen on a kitten's ears, they do have a habit of washing themselves and you don't want him to injest something that might make him sick.

Sue ,  did you have rads,  I sometimes notice on very hot and humid days my chest (even without bbobs) and the node area that was radiated gets puffy and a bit sore.  I have so much relief from taking a warm soak in epsom salts,  a few days in a row and wonderful,  be sure if you do this, to message the area while soaking,  gets the lymphatic juices flowing as well.

Meg we'll take turns taking care of you if need be -  I am worried about a 27 year old brat moving in - LOL.

Thanks Sue - Can I have tea with the  queen too??? Put 1 cup of epsom salts in your bath water.

I was just watching our 5PM news,  the saddest story a 2 year old was killed by a 8ft python in her home this AM,  the mom and boyfriend were asleep and the snake got the little girl,  Pythons have to be registered with the State it was not.  Such a terrible and crazy story.

Obviously  - There is NO THINKING in this case, and they out and out broke the law by not registering for a permit. I just don't get having those type of crazy harmful pets anyway.

I read about a happiness survey that said that people who don't have children are (generally) happier than those who have children. Those of us who have kids (little ones and older ones) sure have our heartaches over them at times. I am very worried about my eldest son. He met a European girl when he was travelling last year. My other 2 sons have told me she is beautiful but that she has a ferocious temper and is totally wrong for James. She has just arrived in Australia (her second trip here in the last few months) and they had a terribly fight. She is SO emotional - she said she wanted to kill James and that she was going to get on a plane straight away and fly to a tropical island off the Queensland coast. She was so nasty to him. She got as far as Sydney, rang him and apologised and now they are together again. It has been an on and off romance because they keep having disagreements, breaking up and making up. I wish they would break up for good and that he would find a less volcanic girl! She may be exciting now but would be hell to be married to! James has a talent for picking the wrong girls.

    Sorry, had to vent!

Hi sweet sisters, dear Judie, so very sorry about your son.  My very worst fear.  My oldest is 55 and has had a heart attack, so I understand the horrible worry.  But death is so final.  I give you my heart.

I went to acupuncture yesterday and after 6 months of pain, my hip it is much better.  I never believed in it much, but I was out of ideas.  Had many x-rays, went to a orthopod, did Physical Therapy, in a pool too, nothing worked, one session with Dr. Wong, and I can walk without limping.  We will see how things go.

I love you all and wish we were all able to just hug each other.

    Hugs and kisses, Shirlann

Wow! It's been a busy board today. I've read it all, but won't try to respond much. Cathi and Lisa, Nancy is correct. I used a Photoshop filter on the picture to melt it down. I wish I knew Photoshop better. I couldn't quite figure out how to do what I envisioned.

Cathi, my mother made it clear to all of her children that she was not a babysitter. She was a grandma with all the rights and privileges thereto. She took them individually to her house when she wanted, gave them one-on-one grandma time, spoilted them rotten, then sent them home. She was the best grandma that ever lived! I have done the same. though didn't have the freedom to have them very often. Connor is the first grandchild I've actually done babysitting for, but it was an extaordinary circumstance. Hold the line, Cathi...you can do it!

Lisa, I find it a bit scary, but hope all goes well with Wayne. I'll be thinking of you.

Sheila, for some reason a Basset hound is just the dog I would imagine you having. I just love them.

Oh, Jane, do I know what you are going through. Don't you sometimes long for the days when parents chose a mate for their children? There might not be sparks, but they would probably be able to co-exist under the same roof.

Thanks, Shirlann. I know you have lost, too, and understand. I'm tickled that you found Dr. Wong and feel better.

Today I had my "annual" exam. Actually, it's only every three years now. My primary care doctor is far more than my physician. We go way back to her days as a resident when I was the charge nurse teaching her the practical side of deliveriing babies. So, for most of the time we chat. Some ot the time she actually does the exam. When it comes to the breast exam part, she says, "I guess I don't need to do breasts, but I will feel your axillae." Then she pauses with a quizzical look and says, "Do you mind it I feel your breasts?" I crack up. I give permission, she feels them and pronounces them to have a natural feel. We then crack up together. She's such a character! Anyway, I passed my physical with flying colors, had a nice visit, and a 2.5 mile walk. A good day.

Judie, my mom told all of us (5 children) she raised her children she was not going to raise any of ours -  she did the same thing as your mom,  and I have also done that with Jaclyn,  now there have been a few ocassions on the spur of the moment that I have babysat,  but Jaclyn has been fully aware right from the start with Alexcis I am not a babysitter 24/7,  but then Jaclyn and I have a much better relationship,   I don't do diapers if the parents are here, and I don't keep them over night (unless an emergency) until they sleep all night,  Brandt is 1 today and he has not yet been an overnight guest without parents.  Gosh does that sound mean????  When Alexcis does come over to stay and she does  a lot, we have a  set pick-up time and Jaclyn is perfect at abiding by it.  I don'y know how to explain it but Amanda somehow "gets" to me,

Jane,  both of my girls have been very good at picking the "wrong" guy ,  DD in NY is married to an absolute A-HOLE,  joy-joy- can't wait until he gets here.

Great news on the physical Judie,  Shirliann maybe I'll look into my own DR Wong,  I have always heard good things about acupuncture - kinda freaks me out a bit though - thinking about those needles.
